The damage that this will do the economy will be great. The damage it will do to how we look around the world will be great.
Remember our credit rating went down because the of the debt limit fighting.

Zimmerman Medical Report

You know we have had lots of people saying that Zimmerman was not hurt. People looking at the police video and saying they did not see any injury to Zimmerman.

Well now we have the medical report and George Zimmerman had a broken nose, two black eyes and two cuts on the back of his head.

I hope the people that said that Zimmerman had no injuries will shut the fuck up and go on to something else. Which I am sure they will.

Windows 8 Consumer Preview Build 8250

I just downloaded and installed Windows 8 Consumer Preview. I had to download the image file and then burn to a DVD.
I was thinking that I would have to re-boot the computer with the DVD in the computer.
But the DVD was in and Windows 7 was running and I heard the drive running and it asked if I wanted to install Windows 8.

So I installed it.
I just got it working. Everything looks good. I appear to have all of my programs. I have not tested everything yet.
But IE and Chrome are working.
I am using Windows Live Writer right now and it is working.

It found my WiFi connection.

Right now Windows 8 is looking good.
But I have only been using it for less than 15 minutes.
I expect to find some problems…but right now everything is looking good.

YouTube Google Page Ranks

If you have a channel setup on YouTube you also end up with a Google Page Rank for it.

My YouTube site has a Google Page Rank of 5.
If you just check YouTube their site has a PR of 9.
I like the Young Turks YouTube site and they have a 7.
I also watch Booie2988 and he has a rank of 6.

Many of you will remember me talking a lot here about my Google Page Rank years ago.
www.showmeblog.com was at 4 for a long time and I was very happy. A Google Page Rank of 4 is very good.
Back about March of 2007 I noticed that if I did a check for
http://showmeblog.com the rank was zero.
If I did a search for http://www.showmeblog.com then I got 4.

Well a few year later ShowMeBlog was showing up with a rank of 0. Then later we started showing up with a rating of 2.

I think it was at 2 for years. It is still at 2 now.

Well I made some changes and now Howard’s Notebook is my main blog site. The URL is http://www.1982bbs.com/ and the Google Page Rank is now 3 for the site.
Sort of odd the domain is a newer domain but the rank is higher.

They don't give a rat's ass about us - all they care about is money. The current Congress has the lowest approval rating of any Congress in American history - even lower than the approval rating for making the United States a communist country! They have zero respect for the American people or what they want - just look at the clowns and lunatics they tried to pass off as qualified presidential candidates during their debates! Republicans want to take trillions of dollars from the poor, the sick, and seniors and hand it over to the rich in tax cuts! Their budget will literally take food out of the mouths of children, needy people and seniors to line the pockets of their rich sponsors. ALEC, the NRA, and oligarchs like the Koch brothers are literally buying this country right out from under us with their Citizens United / corporations are people my friend / money is free speech crap. And the Supreme Court has clearly been stacked against the American people and for the privileged few since Bush V. Gore decided the 2000 elections. And THIS is the most important reason why we cannot let the Republicans us out - judges who are appointed to sit on the Supreme Court are literally above the law and serve for life, and therefore Supreme Court appointments are even more important than who the President is or who runs Congress or the Senate at any given time. And when the Supreme Court is bought and paid for, democracy is dead. The next election is our last chance to save our country. Please help me spread the word, because unless you want to live in a banana republic we have to vote every Republican and Tea Party candidate out of every office in November. Please, tell everybody you know about this video and about Old Fart Rants. And tell them to tell everybody they know, and so on and so on. Google Voice

I have had a Google voice account since 7/15/2009 and I still have no idea what to do with it or how to do it.
I think I have heard that there is a shortage of phone numbers but I got a phone number with them and I am sure many of you have phone numbers with them and are not using it.

If you have Google Voice what do you do with it?

What can you do with it.

Keep in mind I have a “land line” phone via Charter Cable and I have a cell phone with Virgin Mobile.

I have no idea what to do with Google Voice.

May 29th TX primaries

I often tell you how stupid the Republican voters are and they are stupid. Most of all the working people that vote Republican.

But you know in one area they are not stupid…and this is in voting. They get out and vote in the primaries. Those are very important elections.

Democrats, I think, do not get out and vote in the primaries. I am not sure if someone has stats to back that up or not.
But I know I yell and scream and rave about how bad the Republicans are and it is rare for me to vote in a primaries.
Republicans should be laughing their asses off at me.
Because it is stupid of me not to vote in the primaries.

Early voting begins today for the May 29th primaries here in Texas.
I got a call the other day on the telephone.. robot call…
The calls do not say if the person is Democrat or Republican but you can pretty much tell … if the number one reason they tell you to vote for them is that they are for no new taxes you can bet they are a Republican.

I wish someone running for office had to have on their advertising their party.
Not that I am going to vote by error for some Republican but I think it should have to be on their advertisement.

I am not sure the Democrats do it anymore ..but the Democrats always had their printing down at union printing shops and there would always be the little decal on it saying “union printed” or something to that effect.
Wall Street, the corporations, banks and the 1% have just about killed off the unions. I bet the Democrats have a hard time trying to find a union printer now days.

Well it is not me. But someone has got the winning Lotto Texas winning ticket at the Crossroad Shell station in far north Fort Worth.
They have not come forward yet to claim their money.
They can take cash or 25 annual payments.

I am in the west of Fort Worth but someplace not far from here there is a very happy person and a very rich person.

I have the ability to change the reactions. What three or four should I put for you to rate the posts?
I do not think we need “funny” and I sure do not like “cool” so what do you think I should put in there?

By the way I made the switch over from using TypePad to using Blogger and so far no one has objected. I have not had any positive comments yet however.

Blogger is a lot more easy to work with.
I mentioned a few problems with the switch and I went right into the Blogger control panel and was able to take care of them.

The one thing I am not used to is the “Categories” here. On TypePad I had the list I had made pop up and I could pick. Here it seems to be a more free form. It could be that I am missing something. I will look into it.

My ex-wife sells stuff on eBay to try and make a little extra money. She got in some DVDs. She got a folder that has seven DVDs in it and it is the second season of The West Wing.
What a great TV show. I have watched it many times. I do not own it on DVD.
I watched last night night disc 8 (episodes 23 - 26) and early this morning I watched disc 9 (episodes 27 - 30).
The West Wing might be the best TV show ever.

If I was going to pick the best police/crime TV show I think I would have to pick the Hill Street Blues.

Picking a comedy show would be hard. I guess I would have to go with Seinfeld.

My entire body hurts. I am so exhausted all the time that I just do not want to go living like this… I am so tired that it is hard to explain to someone just how tired I am.

I just walked over to my mailbox at the apartment office. Each step I took I was thinking about and feeling the pain and with each step it was like I was telling myself “OK you got to put your foot out and take another step.”

Remember when I lived in Miami and I visited with some friends and the rail and buses stop running? I walked 9 miles home.
Now I have to wait until I feel like I can make it to my mail box and back before I head out.

Part of the problem is the medications I am taking.

Aspirin 81 mg                   one per day
Avodart 0.5 mg                 one per day
Furosemide 40 mg            one or two per day as needed
Tamsulosin HCL 0.4 mg    one capsule twice a day
Carvedilol 12.5 mg            one tablet twice a day
Benazepril HCL 20 mg      one tablet twice a day
Potassium CL ER 10 mg    one tablet with Furosemide

The medications are a big part of the problem. I was never plagued by exhaustion before I started on medications.

OK yes my lifestyle is a big part of the problem. Right now I am 226 pounds. My blood pressure is 142/68 and heart rate of 73.

I do not eat healthy and am not exercising and never have done any exercising. Try and do a stress test of me and with very little activity my blood pressure will sky rocket and I am told that is a sign of someone that is in poor condition due to lack of exercising.

I got to try and eat better and I got to try and get out and walk around. But the walking is hard because like I said I am so tried. Plus if I got out I can not walk for very long without having to rush back to use the bathroom and this is because of my prostate/bladder problems.

I am going to try and do what I need to do but it is not going to be easy. I will keep you posted. If you got any ideas let me know by leaving a comment.

Warning Warning - Communist Video

I can not stand fucking Joe Scarborough. I had “Morning Joe” setup in my DVR to record it each morning. I took it off the DVR today.

I can not stand to fucking hear about his having been in Congress for a couple of fucking years.
I also do not want to fucking hear about his fucking father being unemployed and what his father would stay about this or that.

What set me off today about Joe Scarborough?
Well he says that a new Democratic political video by the Obama people about how Mitt Romney and Bain cost workers in Kansas City (MO) (GST Steel Co.) their jobs could only be made by Communist!
Yes Joe Scarborough thinks that if you dare say one bad word about Bain Capital or any Wall Street corporation then you must be a Communist. Because they are out to make profits. If they cause a business to go broke or if they have a company move out of the United States or if they fire employees or do away with benefits that does not matter as long as Bain makes profits.
Joe Scarborough thinks the people that made that political video for President Obama must be Communist.

Plus Joe Scarborough does not think that President Obama’s should have as a slogan “Forward.”
He says that is a Communist word. Only the Communist use the word “Forward.”
Thank God the United States military would not take me. I tried a couple of times to get into the army. But I was 4-F. I was 40 pounds under weight and I had a lot of hearing lost.
But now I am glad I did not get into the United States Army. I did not know it was a Communist organization.
They use the word “Forward” all the time as in “Forward March.”
I guess they mean march forward under the red banner to May Day or something like that.

I was in ROTC for four years in high school but I did not know the entire military of the United States was a Communist front group.

Furosemide – water pills

I been taking Furosemide. When I race I never bleed through my nose now.

I take the water pill for my edema. My left foot swells up so big I can not get it into a shoe. I retain water. Sort of odd since I never drink water.

Here is better information on Furosemide. I run to the bathroom all the time pissing. The problem is my bladder retains fluid. So it does completely empty and so I go back to the bathroom all the time. I might as well setup a TV and computer in the bathroom.
I been talking the water pills and going even more often to the bathroom.
This week I am not going to take any water pills and see how I do.

Kansas lawmakers pass anti-Sharia law!

God help us… I am not sure that the United States is going to last. How can our form of government last when the American voters are so stupid?

“TOPEKA -- A bill that would ban the use of foreign legal codes in Kansas courts — broadly written but particularly aimed at Islamic “Sharia” law — is on its way to the governor.

The 33-3 Senate vote came after a long and at times emotional debate Friday.

Opponents, including two senators who signed the committee report to bring the bill to the Senate floor, called it intolerant and unnecessary.

Proponents fired back that the bill would protect the U.S. and Kansas constitutions and prevent the use of foreign law to take away fundamental rights enjoyed in American courts.

Sen. Tim Owens, an Overland Park Republican who is the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, apologized for putting the Senate in the position of having to vote on the bill, which passed the House 120-0 earlier in the week.

“This is one where I made some mistakes. The first one was signing the conference report,” he said…”

I just saw a dam good movie.

The T – Fort Worth Transportation Authority

When I lived in Miami I got a bus and rail card that let me ride for free because I was over 65 years of age. That was nice.
I live in Fort Worth (TX) now and because I am old I have a pass that lets me ride for half price. A normal bus rider day pass is $3.00 a day. So I can get a bus pass for the day for $1.50 and that is not bad.

Well The T (Fort Worth Transportation Authority) has a service called MITS for Mobility-Impaired Transportation Service. They pick you up at your door and take you were you want to go and then bring you back when you are ready.
If you are approved I found out something… MITS passengers pay $2.75 one way so it is not cheaper. But if you are approved for MITS you can get a MITS +1 card and then you can ride on their regular bus routes for free.
I think I will see if I can get approved for MITS and then get the MITS +1 card.
Now to be approve for MITS I have to have a verified disability that prevents me from riding the regular city bus service.

My “disability” would be that trips that take two or three buses are a real problem for me. My bladder does not empty completely so I go often. It is a real problem for me to go anyplace if there is a delay. I have to not drink anything for hours and hours before I go but even then it is a problem.
Now my mobility is not bad… I can move pretty fast when I am trying to find a bathroom.

But my doctor has a couple of places that he sends people for tests and there is no bus line near the test site. So I have to take a cab and it is about $25.00 each way.
So I think I can get him to fill out the form for me and if I am approved I will just use it when I need to use it.
We will see what happens.

I miss the bus and rail service in Miami. The bus service here is pretty good but what was nice about Miami was the rain service that cut across the city.

Projectionist deletes entire film

Wow.. I feel so sorry for that employee. I wonder if he lost his job.
In the digital age things like that are going to happen.
The story says that they downloaded a new copy of the film and two hours later they showed it.

I remember one time I came home from working a 12 hour midnight shift. I was so tired but I wanted to work on my bulletin board system for a little bit before bed. I was falling asleep at the keyboard.
I decided to delete something... You do see where this is heading don't you.
I wanted to do a DIR "." but I did a DEL "." and of course the system asked me "Are YOU Sure you want to do this?" I hit yes. I removed my entire bulletin board system.

The Move To Amend coalition stands in support of Reverend Pinkney and the Black Autonomy Network Community Organization (BANCO) as they work for economic and social justice in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Benton Harbor is an overwhelmingly African American community on the edge of Lake Michigan and the world headquarters of Whirlpool. Nothing is actually manufactured in Benton Harbor anymore; free trade policies off-shored their good paying local jobs. A declining tax base coupled with the economic crash has left the city, like many others, in dire straits, and many of its residents struggling against poverty. (See: “Time for an uprising in Benton Harbor.”)
Under legislation which allows the state to take over local governments experiencing a “financial emergency,” Michigan Governor Rick Snyder appointed an emergency manager to govern Benton Harbor. James Harris has become the de facto king of Benton Harbor, refusing to work in concert with city officials, stripping them of their powers, and replacing planning commissioners in order to grab public park land for a posh golf resort, a site on this year’s Senior PGA Tour.
This is a crime against democracy and our American values. When did it become acceptable for the state to essentially fire elected officials duly elected by the people?
To make matters worse, Snyder appears to be targeting cities with large black populations, which could result in the disenfranchisement of the majority of Michigan’s black population. This is an outrage.
We are working to pass a Constitutional amendment, which will curb avaricious corporations seeking personhood rights in order to run roughshod over “We the People.” This is just a first step required to perfect our democracy -- the one where “We the People” rule -- for this and future generations.

Thousand sing Breivik song Children of the Rainbow

“Norwegians raised their voices in unison on Thursday to get under the skin of admitted mass killer Anders Behring Breivik.

An estimated 40,000 people turned out in central Oslo's Youngstorget square to sing "Children of the Rainbow," a Norwegian version of "My Rainbow Race," written by American folk singer Pete Seeger.

During his trial for the killings of 77 people last summer, Breivik cited the song as an example of Marxist influence on Norwegian culture.

The Norwegian version of the song describes a "World where – every sister and every brother – shall live together – like small children of the rainbow," according to a report in the Norway Post…” CNN
