Answer every email or phone call with the most courteous and speedy reply possible. Don’t forget to say thank you. Even if the person just asks a question. Don’t overlook the importance of having great customer service.

Always be appreciative and most of all; Thank The customer as well as potential customers. Say thank you, when a customer purchases something. Send an email after every purchase that tells the customer that you want to thank them for their business. After all, the customers are the people that will keep you in business.

You need repeat customers in your business. Repeat customers provide as steady income, as well as word of mouth customers. There is nothing better than a happy repeat customer. They will tell all their friends about your business.

When a customer buys a product or service from you, offer a free gift. Free gifts and make or break the sale you are about to make. Anything from a free coupon to free shipping on their next order. If you have a surplus of cheap items that you don’t want hanging around, give them away instead of letting them take up space or throwing it away.

Free gifts are a major part of why you can bring customers back for a return sale. Especially if the free gift has to do with the next sale they make on your website. Who wouldn’t want to take advantage of 20% off the next purchase or free shipping?

Here is another big mistake other businesses online tend to make; If they make a mistake, they don’t make it up to the customer in someway. What if you or your drop shipper ship the wrong item by mistake? Would you take the blame and make it up to the customer somehow? Or would you just act like it didn’t happen?

Do you really think your customer will ever come back if you make a mistake on the very first item they purchase without making up to them somehow? Of coarse not.

I would never return to a website that shipped the wrong item or damaged item and didn’t offer to fix the problem. But if they offered to fix the problem and give me a free gift for their mistake, I would definitely return for another purchase.

Everyone makes mistakes. If you are sincere and offer to resolve the situation, plus something for their trouble, it is always appreciated. Big businesses do this, so why can’t you do this? A mistake doesn’t happen very often. When you put the numbers together, it doesn’t take much to please your customers.

They say they sell at wholesale prices, but they don’t. Not only that, but most of these types of companies take your money and give you no product.

As you can see in this diagram, the drop ship order should go, from you (the retailer/reseller), to the wholesale distributor/drop shipper, directly to your customer.

Believe it or not, there are fake drop shippers who will pay a real drop shipper/retailer to do the work for them. They will take an order, pass it on to real the retailer/drop shipper, then the drop shipper/retailer will pass the order on to their wholesale distributor/drop shipper, then the customer.

First let’s explain what a retailer/drop shipper really is;
In order to buy wholesale, you need a business license and tax id numbers. This makes you a retailer/reseller/drop shipper. You have a license to buy wholesale and you are considered a real retailer/drop shipper.

But the fake drop shipper does not have any of these business credentials. They are merely a middle man that makes you pay more for the product. Their customer pays for the item, then they go to a real drop shipper to purchase it. The real drop shipper/retailer then goes to a wholesale distributor, who then drop ships the item to the customer.

The customer could go directly to a real retailer/drop shipper to buy this item much cheaper. But instead, the customer will pay more for this item because they didn’t do any background research on the fake drop shipper.

Retailers online are much different than retailers in a physical, brick and mortar, storefront. Retailers online generally charge much less for an item a brick and mortar retailer would charge.

The reason for this is, the online retailer/drop shipper has almost no overhead. They can charge much lower prices because they don’t have any back costs.

But the retailer in a brick and mortar store has to pay employees, high rent fees, pricey insurance, and much more. The retailer in a brick and mortar store front has to charge MSRP (manufacturers suggested retail price) for everything in their store.

The retailer in a brick and mortar store probably doesn’t even drop ship any items. This is why most people shop online. They know they can get a much better deal online, than if they bought something in a store.

There are always sure-fire methods to finding out if a company is a scam or not what they say. Just do a Google search for that companies name or website address. Follow it up with the word “scam”. You will surely find out really fast if that company is honest and reliable, let alone, a real company at all.

Notice if there are any contact details. Do they have a physical address? Do they have a real phone number? What about an email address? Most fake drop ship websites will not offer this kind of information. If they have contact information, ask them a question and see how long it takes them to respond. If they even respond at all.

High membership or set up fees are another sign this company is out to rip you off. No drop ship company should ever charge you membership fees to buy something from them. A real drop shipper would give you their services for free.

Spelling errors and grammar are another way to tell if a company is legit. Most fake drop shippers are foreign and do not know English well.

Stay away from companies that offer high demand items really cheap. I-pods, video game systems, and cell phones, being drop shipped is a number one sign that this company is not legit. This is another sure way to spot a fake drop shipper.

Most wholesalers now-a-days will even drop ship the products to your customers. The wholesalers will put your name on the return address, so your customer will never even know the product was drop shipped to them from another company. This makes the transaction much more professional and your company will prosper in the end.

Real wholesale distributors are very easy to find these days. But fake wholesale distributors, claiming to be real wholesale distributors are even easier to find. You have to be really careful and do your homework in order to find REAL wholesale distributors.

Here are 2 sure fire ways to find real wholesale distributors. Taking in to account, that you have tax ids and a business license to buy from a real wholesale distributor.

The 1st sure fire way to find a REAL wholesale distributor is ;

• Call the manufacturer of the product/s you want to sell. You can find the sales phone number for the manufacturer by doing a quick Google search.
• You then ask to speak to a sales representative.
• Present yourself to the sales rep by addressing yourself by name and business name.
• Tell them you wish to buy their products to resell for your online/home business.
• Here is the tricky part, some manufacturers will sell to you direct or have a wholesale distributor that will sell to you. So, you then ask for a list of their wholesale distributors and contact phone numbers.
  If they do not have wholesale distributors, they will let you know and will be happy to work with you directly. Don’t worry, the sales rep will be happy to give you this information, as it means they will create sales and it is their job to create more sales for the manufacturer they work represent.
• Note: Some popular products are not available for home business to purchase from a wholesale distributor or manufacturer. These products include:

• Cell Phones(Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.)
• Video Game Systems
• Video Games
• I-Pods
• Most Sporting Equipment Name Brands
• Most Musical Instrument Name Brands
• Most Designer Clothing Name Brands
• Most Shoe and Sneaker Name Brands
• New release DVD’s

If you see anyone claiming to sell these products to you for wholesale prices, they are either lying to you or breaking a licensing agreement which can get them big fines or jail time.

Most fake wholesalers will claim they can sell you these products at wholesale prices, but don’t listen to the hype. They are not REAL wholesalers and are probably just offering these types of products at a discounted price. This discounted price is usually not good enough to make a profit or compete with the competition.

You may be asking the question; How are sellers on ebay and other similar places, able to charge close to wholesale prices for such items? The answer – These individuals have a brick and mortar storefront (physical store that you walk in to buy such items). These storefronts, then turn around and resell items online. They are also breaking the law, here is why;

In order to buy such items, you need to have a brick and mortar storefront. Then you have to agree with a very strict licensing agreement between the manufacturer of these items and your storefront. The licensing agreement is said to prevent copyright infringement or counterfeiting, but that is another story.

This licensing agreement promises that you will be a distributor and will only sell at retail (or MSRP) prices and only to the public. If you break said licensing agreement, your business will face being shut down, high fines, and possibly jail time.

Usually the product will go from the manufacturer – to the distributor – to you (the home business owner with a license to buy wholesale) – to your customers.

But in a license agreement you promise the product will go from the manufacturer – to the distributor with a brick and mortar storefront – to the public. There are strict rules that you promise not to sell to anyone but the public and not a penny under the retail price. This means all the home business owners get screwed out of buying some of the most popular products around.

Not to worry, because there is a bright side to these strict licensing agreements and rules; home businesses can sell accessories for said products. And accessories for such items sell fantastic. In some cases accessories sell better than the products themselves.

The 2nd sure fire way to find a REAL wholesale distributor is;

• Sign up for an information company like World Wide Brands.
• Companies like World Wide Brands do not sell any products.
• Instead, they do constant research to find REAL wholesale distributors and drop shippers that will work with home businesses.
• They have a huge inventory of Real wholesale distributors and drop shippers for any product that is available to home businesses.
• Just do a search in World Wide Brands search engine for the product/s you want to sell and you will find all the wholesale distributors or drop shippers that sell those products.
• Now call each wholesale distributor or drop shipper and sign up to start buying products from them.
• Note; This method will save you hundreds of hours in research time calling manufacturers.

We tested this method recently for Easter and these sold like pancakes in a breakfast diner. Look around and you will find gift baskets sell even when times are bad. Mother’s day is coming and gift baskets are the perfect gift for not only Mother’s day, but any holiday.

Gift baskets are great for beginners to make as well as an expert gift basket maker. When a gift basket is done the results can be stunning. Suitable for any occasion, unique gift baskets are the solution when you can’t decide what to buy that special person in your life. Especially if that person seems to already have everything. Gift baskets come in all different shapes and sizes.

Depending on the holiday, choose the size basket and the items you want to put inside. Cut some cellophane, lay it on the table and place the basket on top. Cellophane comes in colored, clear, print or holiday style. Get some decorative paper to place on the bottom of the basket. Place the items you want to put in to the basket on top of the decorative paper.

Now place all the items in the basket. If you have breakable items, make sure to place them in the basket first and in the middle. Try to place the small items on the outside and the large items near the middle of the basket to give it a staggered look and feel. After that, surround the items with candy, cheese, or pepperoni (depending on what holiday) to fill in the blank spots.

Pull up the cellophane around the basket and use a decorative twisty-tie to secure it shut. If you have bows they make a nice touch. Ribbon also works great. If you have ribbon style rope, you can use some scissors to slide up each rope and curl it in to a bow or curly shape. If you are a good gift wrapper, I am sure you can use some techniques that will surpass an amateur gift basket. This adds to a great look!

Trim any excess cellophane with scissors and tape up any loose ends with clear scotch tape. Get some gift tags and place one on the basket. If you can get some gift tags with a small hole, that would be ideal. This way you can be apply the gift tag with some small rope and tie it near the top of the basket for a professional look.

That’s it, you are done. Gift baskets sell great on websites and even better on auction marketplaces like ebay. Here is tip; take a picture of the gift basket without the cellophane to help you sell it better. Then take another picture of the gift basket in the final stage. These two pictures should be enough to sell your gift basket to anyone. You will give potential customers a better idea of what the gift basket consists of. Believe it or not, some people don’t even read what is in the gift basket, they just look at the pictures.

Another way to help you sell the basket is to place some roses or other flowers behind the basket when you take the picture of it. Flowers, especially red ones will bring out the basket more in the picture.

Using Google adwords is a big part of driving traffic to your website. PPC (pay-per-click) advertising is very simple to use. Create your advertisements, bid on keywords that are relevant to your website material, and watch traffic roll in. There are some tricks you need to know in order to succeed in your adwords campaign.

You pay for traffic you receive, so you want to know all the tips and tricks you can. You can bid as low as 1 penny per click so you won’t go bankrupt. Although I recommend bidding 10-20 cents per click as the higher your bid the more you will be found in Google search.

Make a targeted keywords list. This is the single most important thing of succeeding in your advertising campaign. Make a list of keywords to bid on that are relevant to your website material. Don’t make a long list of irrelevant or generic keywords. Make sure you know your website material and use that as a map to choose your keywords. I suggest using this tool. If your website is business related, type business in the “word or phrase box” to find out the similar keywords associated with the word business.

Content and search networks. Make sure you set a smaller bid for the content network than the search network. The content network will be more general, so you don’t need to bid as high as you would with the search network. Most people find that they get the same turn around in the network search as if they bid more anyway. Save your money and bid more on the search network for keywords. This only applies to some keywords, but it’s very effective. A little experimenting and you’ll find what is best for you.

Be original and know how you are different. What makes you different than your competition. Knowing how you are different and associating keywords with that is very important. Almost no two businesses are exactly alike. If you can’t think of ways you are different that would make you stand out, think again. There is always something. What products and services do you have that the competition doesn’t? If you can make yourself stand out and be unique; you can beat your competitors that are bidding on similar keywords or phrases. Don’t over-do it by choosing generic keywords that won’t help you and you will excel above the competition in searches.

Constant keyword research is what will beat the competition. You are in a bid war with your competition, so always keep yourself updated with what keywords are being searched for. Times change and so do the way people search for things. If your competition doesn’t keep up with what keywords are popular at the moment; you can bid low and receive big results. Always use the Google adwords tool I mentioned above to keep track of the popular keywords. You can also find other tools Google puts out that will help you. Compare each keyword’s results so you can keep track of which keywords are working best for you. Bid accordingly so you can stay on top of the competition in search results.

Make sure your most popular keywords are in the text of your Google adwords advertisement. It is very important that you put your most popular keywords in to your ad. Put those keywords in the description, as well as the title of your ad. Make sure it describes your website to a “T”. You want potential visitors to understand what your website will offer them just from reading the advertisement. Don’t over-do things by adding words that have nothing to do with your websites content. So many times I see businesses making a huge mistake of not making their advertisement descriptive and attractive enough for potential customers to click on.

Take advantage of Google’s adword ad serving. A lot of your competition doesn’t even know what this service is for, so take advantage of that. This service makes sure your most popular ads are shown more often. This service gives more advantage of knowing the CTR’s (click-through-rates) and will show your ads more often than your competitions ads with lower CTR’s in the same ad group. That means, if your ads are being shown more, you will be found more often, than an ad that has been shown less.

This is very beneficial to beating your competition and being found in more search results. Make sure you create single ad groups. Create you ads and target them with keywords to certain categories. Make a group structure that divides your ads into sub-advertisements for each part of your website or products. Now create an ad campaign where you list as many products as you want and associate them with a particular group. Then create a container that will be the main source of all those products. Kind of like a parent group with little children in that group that are related to the parents.

Direct your customers to the correct landing page. Don’t make the mistake of always directing potential customers to your homepage. Don’t expect anyone to click around your website to find what they are looking for. Direct them directly to a target page. For example, if are selling computers and the adwords advertisement is for hard drives, don’t direct the customer to your homepage, direct them to the hard drive page. I am sure your adwords keywords would be computers and hard drives among many others. So why not take advantage of that and send them directly to the page they are expecting to be brought to? Most customers get annoyed and leave once they are redirected to the wrong page anyway. Potential customers turn in to customers a lot more often when they are brought directly to the correct source.

These are some of the most effective tips and tricks to have a successful adwords campaign. Use them all together for best results. Google adwords can be a disaster if you just get in to without knowing the most effective ways that work. I have seen so many people fail because they didn’t do their homework. Do your research and will be sure to succeed. Not only that; but you will beat out your competition as well.

Real wholesalers who drop ship are very hard to find these days. Back in the day; it was very easy to find a wholesaler that drop ships. Now it’s very difficult to find a real wholesaler who drop ships. There are too many websites out there posing as a real wholesale distributor. Places like mega goods, simplx, and doba have been scamming people for years. They pose as a real wholesaler, but they are just a middleman stealing your profit.

Search engines are swarmed with this type of activity. Middleman who claim they are real wholesalers but they really aren’t. The only real way to find a real wholesaler is to call the manufacturer or sign up with a place like world wide brands.

I have been using world wide brands for a few years now and have to say I am very happy I joined them. They do constant research to call the manufacturers and find out who the current wholesale distributors are, that will work with a home business. They save me hundreds of hours in research from calling manufacturers.

Some manufacturers do not let their distributors sell at wholesale prices. Products like, cell phones, designer clothing, sneakers, DVD’s, and video game consoles are some of many products protected under strict licensing agreements. The manufacturers have licensing agreements protected by law that make the distributor promise they will only sell retail at a retail store.

You have to have a real brick and mortar/retail store if you want to buy these products wholesale to sell at your retail store. Some brick and mortar stores bend the rules and chance being sued or going to jail for breaking the licensing agreement between the manufacturer and the retailer/distributor. They have a retail store, but they also sell their products on places like ebay. This is one of the reasons you see products under licensing agreements being sold at wholesale prices on ebay.

Even still, you can make money drop shipping on ebay if you look around. There are tons of products that you can make good money on. Paypal may put a hold on your money for 21 days; but most of the products that sell really well are small items under 20 dollars. This is how I do it;
You can easily Sell 30-50 of these types of products a day and make 2-3 dollars profit on each item. Small items like cell phone or video game console accessories sell amazingly great on ebay. I will never complain about making 100 dollars a day on ebay.

Ten years ago I can remember how easy it was to make money on ebay using wholesalers that drop ship. The average powerseller was selling big money items, 10-20 sales a night; making over $100 profit from each sale. In fact, ebay was a main source of income for almost 50% of home businesses in 2000. These past few years most of those same home businesses have spread out their sources of income. It turns out ebay is not our main source of income anymore.

Most of us found, we made more money by doing several different things on top of ebay. Not having all your eggs in one basket is the key to making more money. If you can have 10 different things that make you 10 dollars a day; you will make $700 dollars a week. That’s good income in this recession. It’s possible to make this happen everyday, starting now! As you get better at multi tasking several different incomes, you will make much more.

Thousands of other ebay powersellers have moved on and either expanded to other types of income or away from ebay all together. We have spread our wings to make more money elsewhere. There are tons of auction marketplaces that are better than ebay if you are a seller. Bonanzle, Ecrater, Blujay, Amazon, Overstock, the list goes on and on.

Not only that, but most of us have a few websites that make us tons of money also. We have websites that we sell items on. Most of us use affiliate marketing and PPC in combination of products we sell. Another thing smart home business have done is to have websites or blogs that don’t sell anything; they just make money from affiliate and adsense advertisements. Websites are the best way to make the most money online. The possibilities are endless.

Drop shipping and having your own website make the best combination for making money. You can charge close to retail for everything you buy wholesale. A few years back it wasn’t worth having our own website; because ebay was making us too much money to bother with expanding. Most people were content with making consistent sales, day after day, on ebay.

As times have changed so has drop shipping. Most wholesale distributors drop ship now-a-days. There was a time only a select few wholesale distributors like Petra and Wynit drop shipped anything. People tend to make more money with their own website store than an auction marketplace.

In 2009 home businesses will not have their main source of income coming from ebay. It will be maid in various places. It is predicted that most home businesses will be making a main source of income right from their very own website, as well as other auction marketplaces. Ebay isn’t in any smart home businesses future with all the other great opportunities out there.

The powersellers that boycotted ebay early last year have moved on to make money on various auction marketplaces like Bonanzle as well. Most of them moved on to make money on their own websites as well. Your average powerseller on ebay a few years ago; was a small home business owner run by one person.

Not anymore, most powersellers on ebay are retail stores or a major chain store. I have even seen the manager from such places selling surplus on ebay. These bigger stores can buy bulk wholesale and us small businesses can’t compete with them. Most of them sell the popular or big money items. Leaving us little guys to make profit off the measly 10 and 20 dollars items.

But like I said before, make $2-$3 profit on 30-50 sales a day on ebay is very easily done if you are dedicated. Drop shipping these types of small items is the best way to make money and keep your competition down. One downfall of many home businesses trying to sell on ebay is; trying to sell big money or big profit items. Most of these items have competition you can’t compete with.

Drop shipping will still play a major part of home businesses in 2009. Just remember, your long term goal shouldn’t be drop shipping. As time goes by, you should think about expanding your horizons. What works today may not be around forever. Expand your business so you aren’t relying on one or two incomes online. Spread your business seed online and make money from 10 or more different incomes.

Hello readers, I hope you are having a great week. I’m sure you have heard the catch phrase “Get rich over night” before. This is a scam catch phrase. The only way you will get rich overnight is to win the lottery. There isn’t a magical formula that any has solved to get you rich over night.

Lots of people selling information or e-books will tell you they got rich in hours or days using their techniques/formulas. Then they try and sell their information as such. People get conned in to this scam everyday.

The fact of the matter is; “you have to work hard for what you want. You only get back what you put in to the project.” Yes, in some circumstances an individual can make thousands of dollars in a few short days. But that is only because they are familiar with the program.

An example would be an MLM(multi-level marketing) Program which details the user having a website and market/advertise it in order to make sales. If the user knows how to build and host a website, knows how to advertising it, they can make some good money. Especially, if they have a high ranked website or two already. Just link it on to the high ranked website/s. Plus, advertising will give a user a great advantage over the average Joe.

An experienced user can get very rich from work at home programs. But the advertisements for such programs are very misleading. They convince people that have never done that type of thing; that they can be rich. “So easy my kid can do it” doesn’t apply to someone with out experience.

The whole draw in for those types of program are; “make more money that you ever imagined right now, Get rich like me today, make thousands of dollars overnight, the list goes on and on.

Don’t get me wrong, most programs will work. You will make money and lots of it if you are good at work at home programs. But it takes time and know how. The average person starting one of those programs usually don’t make a dime because they don’t know any “tricks of the trade”.

A new website will not start getting steady traffic until 1-3 months after a consistent marketing and advertising campaign. So if you don’t have a website and don’t know any tricks of the trade, none of these work at home programs are for you. Most work at home programs apply to people that have “been around the block.”

My advice to new work at home people;

• Do some background research on the program you want to join. Make sure it’s not a scam. If it’s sounds too good to be true than it usually is.
• Make sure you are capable of the tasks at hand. Some people join a program and don’t have a clue what to do next, so they give up. Make sure you are experienced at the job/program, or at least willing to learn.
• Are you prepared to do lots of work and stay dedicated? Just because it’s a work at home program doesn’t mean you won’t spend long hours in front of your computer to succeed(because you will). Working at home may be easy because you are at you computer. But you will work.
• Learn how to build and host a website. You need to start a website now if you want to make the big money. Almost all work home programs will require you to have your own website. So get the experience time in right now. Learn all the tricks and get a head start.
• Learn how to market and advertise your website/s. The most important thing about making sales on your website is to market and advertise it everywhere (most work at home programs are based on sales and commission). People won’t visit your website if they don’t know it’s there. If you don’t know how to market or advertise a website, here is a great post we wrote about how to do it.
• Get familiar with how most work at home programs are like. You will find most of them are very similar to one another.

Through the years I have probably tried every work at home program out there. Most of them are very good and you can make great money. I have been successful at many of these types of programs; just because I know what I am doing now. When I first started doing work at home type jobs and programs I didn’t make didly squat. I didn’t know what I was doing back then. Experience will always pay off in the end.

I just want to inform you all. Making money online is very possible. In fact, it’s very easy once you have done it a few times. But if you are new without any computer/internet experience, it may take you a while to catch on. Anyone claiming that you can be rich in short period of time without any experience should be a program to stay away from anyway.

Don’t do it! This is a huge scam. I personally know someone scammed by this company. She got a check for $23.00 for over $1000.00 worth of old jewelry. She knew she wouldn’t get a lot because it was old. She called and complained so they offered her a check for another $20.00 because they made a mistake. But she could have brought the jewelry to a pawn shop and got more for it.

After doing a little research I was able to find that millions have been scammed the same way. It seems a lot of “cash for gold” type companies online are doing the same thing. How can anyone do this to honest people and still be allowed to stay open and run commercials on television non stop?

Cash4Gold even says they are an accredited bbb business with the logo in the commercials. But according to the better business bureau, this logo is expired and they are not accredited with them anymore.

This is what the bbb said about the logo.
“The BBB logo seen in Cash 4 Gold TV advertising and other media promotions has expired. Cash 4 Gold is not an accredited business with the BBB.”

Also, the better business bureau gave their analysis on cash4gold and said this:
“DUE TO THE NATURE OF RECENT COMPLAINTS RECEIVED BY THE BBB, THERE APPEARS TO BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH PACKAGES SENT TO CASH4GOLD NOT BEING RECEIVED. THE BBB ENCOURAGES CONSUMERS TO USE CAUTION WHEN MAILING PACKAGES THAT YOU FEEL MAY BE WORTH MORE THAN THE INSURED VALUE LISTED IN THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE COMPANY. IF YOU DECIDE TO DO BUSINESS WITH CASH4GOLD YOU MAY WISH TO INSURE YOUR PACKAGE FOR THE VALUE YOU FEEL YOUR JEWELRY IS WORTH, AND CONSIDER USING A COURIER SERVICE WITH CONFIRMED DELIVERY.”

According to the better business bureau, these were the common customer complaints;
Our file contains a pattern of complaints from consumers who allege they have difficulty in receiving the return of their jewelry as per the advertised offer. Consumers state that they have contacted the company within the 10 day timeframe as per Cash 4 Gold’s terms and conditions, however some consumers have been informed by the company their jewelry had already been melted. Other consumers state the check for their jewelry was received more than 10 days after the date on the check, thereby making it void per company terms. Other complaints received allege the company is not offering a fair value for the jewelry as advertised in their commercials. The company has responded to complaints by issuing a refund or an explanation of their terms and conditions of their offer.

This is a comment by someone who used to work for cash4gold (please excuse the English, I didn’t write it). I believe him, just because it matches up with all my investigating on this company.
I am a former employee of Cash 4 Gold. I did not know much about the company before being hired. On my first day of being hired, I was taught the “Cash 4 Gold Scam” from beginning to end.

Cash 4 Gold is definitely not a trustworthy or credible company to do business with. You are almost better off taking your items to a local pawn shop or shopping around for other companies. With the economony the way it is, Cash 4 Gold seems to be a way out of financial stress for some, but in actuality becomes a stress of its own. I would advice you to think twice before sending in valuables or items inherited and of sentimental value. Its not worth it. I am not doing this as a way of Bashing their money making process but more so to warn everyone.

I can’t stand a company that makes the consumer believe they are getting a great product/service and give a horrible product/service instead. Everything I have found of this company is sickening to me. It seems that they are owned by a company called Green Bullion. Green Bullion has tons of websites that are linked to cash for gold type scams.

Just beware of this company everyone. They are not what or who they say they are. Until they are investigated, I would keep your gold transactions away from them.

If you are a member of Facebook, Myspace, or any other social website, then you are already part of a social network. Now you have to put it to use so it works for you. For instance, if you have a Facebook account, Wordpress blog, and a Twitter account, you can reach thousands of people literally over night. You can advertise your website/s on Facebook and twitter right on your profile. So the more friends you gain, the more backlinks you receive.

First, use the add-on in Facebook to make everything you post on your twitter account relay back onto your wall on Facebook automatically. Then upload the twitter plug-in onto your Wordpress blog. With this plug-in, anything you post on your blog will go on to your twitter group post page. Twitter will show the title of your blog post and give a backlink to your blog. Then your blog post will show up the same way on your Facebook wall. Now every time you post on your Wordress blog, the post will be automatically posted on your twitter board and Facebook wall.

This is one of many reasons why everyone that wants to social network should use Twitter. It’s one of the best free social marketing tools I have seen in a long time. Millions of people use Twitter. Millions of people use Facebook. Facebook has thousands of groups dedicated to bringing you traffic through Twitter.

Just sign up for each Facebook group one by one. Become a friend to everyone in that group. At the same time add each person that left their twitter id in the comment box on Facebook. If you spend an hour a day doing this for seven days, you will receive thousands of new friends on Facebook and Twitter. By the way, at the same time you are creating hundreds or thousands of back links to your website.

That means you are gaining thousands of backlinks to your webpage each week. This will get you a very high page rank on Google before you know it.

Each person as your friend on Facebook will add a backlink to your website. Each person following you on your twitter account will add one backlink for your website. That is of course, if you have your website/s posted on your Facebook and twitter profiles. If you don’t have your website posted on your profiles, do it now.

If you have thousands of friends on Facebook, which is easy to do once you start joining large groups, you will create thousands of backlinks. If you have thousands of followers on Twitter, you will have thousands of backlinks to your website. This is because once a person bookmarks your profile, it gets stored in a permanent cache and index online (major search engines like Google see this). If your website link is on that profile you have created one backlink. This is how a backlink is created.

That’s why social networking is so effective when you want to market yourself or business. There are so many backlink potential possibilities; you would be wise to take advantage of it. From forums and newsgroups to Facebook and Twitter, look around, the potential for thousands or millions of backlinks to your website are abroad.

It’s very easy to advertise and market yourself in today’s online business world. Places like Twitter and Facebook are making it so much easier than ever before. Take advantage of the new tools that come out. Most of them are free. Just be aware that it’s a good idea to use these tools when they are new and popular. As time goes by, newer and better tools come along that will replace your old tools.

Facebook and Twitter won’t be the best forever. Take advantage of them while you can. When that newer and better place comes out, move to them. The techniques used in advertising and marketing always change as time goes by. The same things that work for you today will not be as effective as times change.

Most people think you just sit back and relax when they hear you work at home. They don’t understand there are so many little things behind the scenes that they don’t see us do. From research and development to laying out a game plan and keeping it updated; you put in a lot of man hours when you run a successful business. It doesn’t come free.

When you compare your hourly day to a regular 9-5 job, it may come close. Most successful home businesses spend 6-8 hours a day working. When your just starting out it isn’t uncommon to spend upwards of 8-12 hours a day in development. There is a lot of work that you wouldn’t think of, if you come in to this unprepared. That’s why it is so important to do your homework before you start any business.

Make sure the business you want to start is your own idea. Try to stand clear of promoting a business you saw in an ad somewhere. Don’t be a copy cat. Come up with something that is original. Even if you are going in to an industry that has thousands of businesses doing the same thing as you; Make sure you have your original twist that others do not have. Keep your business original and you will stand a great chance against your competition.

1. What are your talents and skills? The sad thing about new people starting a home business is; they try and do what someone else is doing. They think that since one person is doing great in that particular field, they can do the same thing. “WRONG”. Find your talents and make a business out of it.

You should know the things you are good at doing. Everyone has something that they excel at doing compared to someone else. You may have to ask a friend or family member what your talents are to find out what they are; but everyone posses a talent or two. You may be an office person, a person that can play video games well, maybe you are a great communicator, or lucky enough to be a person who can learn and pick up anything quickly.

Either way, your talents are what will make you money. It took me years to finally figure out I could be a successful business consultant. But after running many successful home businesses and teaching people what I know; I figured out what my passion was; teaching people to make money at home was my talent. I love to do help people and what better way than to teach people how to make money at home in this recession. Your talents will be the building block for making your business successful.

Most people like what they can do well. That’s why so many successful business people use their talents and build a business around them. They don’t get bored and give up out of frustration. Your talents give you interests in those talents. This will make you experienced in that field. You will know more about your talents than the average person because you are interested in them. This is your first step to being above average in your businesss filed. You are already an expert.

Your skills will follow your talents. Skills come from lots of practice from your talents. Practice makes perfect is the mind frame you need to be in when you run a successful business. Take your talents and put them to use. In time you will learn skills that came from your talents. This will prove to be any business person’s strong point and the foundation of their success.

2. Coming up with ideas to gear you business toward. Coming up with the perfect field of business may be the hardest part. Great, you found out what your talents and skills are; but how do you make a living doing it?

If your talent is artwork; Google “artwork job titles” and you may be pleasantly surprised to find many businesses you could start right now. Scratch off every business idea that is out of the question. For example, if you want to work at home, scratch off all your ideas that have something to do with off site work.

This part is all you. You have to decide out of what talents you have. Now which one/s do you want to make money for you. The smartest choice will be the one you have the most interest in doing. You always hear people say I hate my job. It is everyones dream to do what they enjoy doing everyday for work.

Pick what you enjoy most and do some research on Google to find out what will be most profitable for you. Don’t forget to add your originality. Give your customers something your competition isn’t doing. Now you have one foot up on your competition as well as your expertise.

3. Once you choose your job title and business field, pursue it! Don’t make the same mistake most new entrepreneurs make. Most people come up with a great idea and then they give up. Or what’s worse is; they tell someone or many people about their idea and someone steals it before they can get a start on it. You have to follow thru with whatever you start.

Do not to start a business and then quit once things start getting tough. Stay active in your ideas. Keep on top of what is new in your field and take advantage of it. If you feel you need to quit and start over because you thought of another idea or two; think long and hard about it. Think of ways you can revamp your new business and use your new ideas too.

After all, you don’t want to throw away your long hours and hard work over another idea. In the end it’s all about keeping up with the times. Change is good, but when you quit and start over it can get very discouraging. Most people will quit when they are frustrated over starting over.

4. Don’t dive right in to it. Don’t just jump right in to something without doing the background research to know if it will work for you or not. Many people make the mistake of investing time and money in to something that will eventually fail because they didn’t research it first or think of a game plan ahead of time.

Make sure you look at the entire picture and make sure your business will have a high success rate. If you can’t see a high success rate for your ideas, do more research so you can make your business original and attractive to new customers. If you do the same thing everyone else is doing without originality, you will be sure to fail along with the other copy cats.

5. Having a game plan, setting goals, and chasing them. Make a list of all things you want to accomplish. These will be your goals. Make some short term goals that will help you reach your long term goals. Keep your daily goals written in a book, or as I call it, my business diary. Your future goals may change as you achieve each goal, so a little notebook may work best for you. Some people choose to make a business diary in word pad or note pad on their computer. Whatever is easiest for you, I suggest you do it.

Make your goals S.M.A.R.T. goals. Specific, Measurable, achievable, Result-oriented, time-tabled. Make your goals realistic. You probably won’t make a million dollars in your first year, so don’t make this your goal. Make sure your long-term goals are able to be reached by achieving your short term goals. Your short-term goals should be set up so they slowly take you to your long term goals. One step at a time is the best way to achieve anything.

6. Stay active and don’t give up. Most people will start their business like a jet car off the line; but give up after a short time. Your business won’t be successful if you don’t stick with it. Yes, it’s okay to take a break when you need it. (that’s why we started our business in the first place isn’t it? Our freedom)

But don’t go over board with taking time off from your business. The more time you take off, the more you wont want to go back to work, its human nature. Be persistent in what you do for your business. Try not to slack off on what you were serious about before hand.

Your business will not do a thing if you are not consistent and stay true to what you believe. Staying consistent is what will slowly build your business over time. Don’t put things off until tomorrow. Tomorrow never gets here.

7. Research and development is what keeps us going strong. R&D is the most important thing to keep your business new and fresh. Don’t use the same ideas and programs you used three years ago. Most likely those are all outdated.

Yes, it’s very important to do R&D to get your business started but it’s even more important to keep your business running strong. Even if you have to cheat and look at what your competition is doing. Keep an eye on your competition and take their ideas to a new level. Put your original twist on things and make them your ideas.

You will always stay on top of today’s technological business world if you keep up with what is new. Staying new, fresh, and changing with the times will ensure your success. Businesses that use yesterday’s technology will only be left in the dust by their competitors. Doing constant research on today’s technology and knowing what works will be the key to drawing in new and repeat customers.

Customers want what is newer and easier. In today’s fast moving world, nobody wants to spend hours doing what can be done in minutes. Keep this in mind and you won’t have a problem drawing in new and repeat customers for the rest of your life.

No more listing an auction and going through many pages of options to list an item. This is a great time saver!

The domain for a website is the address/URL you type in to the address bar on your browser. For example- www.Google.com is Google’s domain name. The domain name for your website is the most important part of having a website. It should be short and say something about your business. Keeping your domain name related to the content on your website could make or break you in marketing yourself.

Search engines will be more likely to find your domain name in a search. So if your domain name has something to do with the content on your website; you will be more likely to receive visitors in a search. Especially if your domain name is related to the content of your website.

It may be hard to find a domain name that isn’t taken already. Don’t be afraid to abbreviate your domain or use initials to find the perfect combination. It’s possible to forward a domain name to another like you can with phone numbers. So you can always buy another domain name later and forward that to your main domain. As times change you will have more ideas pop into your head. The domain I use actually has 4 domains all forwarding to one main domain name.

Some people will even use their real name for a domain name. Even if you change your domain name in the future, at least you will have your name for a domain. Some people start a blog with their name as a domain. There are just too many good reasons to have your name as a domain to pass it up.

Always use a domain name you own or rent. Don’t use a free website, unless you can’t afford it. I try to steer everyone towards Godaddy as they have a great hosting package for beginners. Owning your own domain name is a lot more professional than using a free domain name. Free domains, websites, and blogs are very limited to what you can or can’t do on your website. Your marketing ploys won’t work as well with a free website. Your customers will find it more convenient in all sorts of ways as well. Besides, why put all this work in to a huge project like having a website to only have half the benefits? Buy your own domain and hosting!

You have to spend about 1-3 hours a day advertising your website for the first three months or so. After three months time you’ll probably only have to spend about 1 hour a day to advertise. As long as you want steady traffic to always come to your website, you must spend time everyday getting word out about your website.

It won’t come easy, but the time you spend on telling everyone about your website will be rewarded. You can even use techniques I am about to tell you; to make word spread online like wild fire! Remember; don’t use just one of these techniques. Use them all and you will be happy you did.

Just set up a schedule so you can do 2 or three techniques one day (or as many as it takes to do in about 2-3 hours). Then the next day, move down the list until you reach the bottom. Then start over again and keep advertising like that. Within three months you will get a huge boost in traffic. Keep going and you will double-triple your traffic every month. You can create thousands of sales for yourself.

One of the most increasingly effective ways to increase traffic is to tell friends and family you have around the internet. Have them tell their friends, and so-on and so-on. One of the best ways to spread word around like this is by using social networks. Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Digg, DropJack, Technorati, and Delicious are just a few great ones. Do a search on Google on social networks and you will find tons. If you get good at making lots of friends you can drive millions of visitors to your website everyday with social networks. I pace myself to submit 2-4 articles a day.

Leave comments on high ranking blogs and leave your website address in your details. This will create backlinks to your website. Backlinks on high ranking websites will move your website up in search engines.

Create a blog about your website/business. Create a sub domain of your website to make more traffic get there. For instance www.yourwebsite.com/blog, the subdomain is /blog. Tell everyone what you have to offer that is original. Let the world know what your website offers. Make sure you blog 5-6 times a week and you will drive traffic. Blogs create traffic because they are usually updated regularly and that attracts search engines to your website. Search engines don’t find old content first. If you want to rank high in search engines, you better update your website regularly. Attaching a blog to a sub domain of your website is a great way to start.

Make sure you submit a sitemap to major search engines. A sitemap is great for websites that are updated regularly. It submits information on when it was last updated how often it changes, and how important it is in relation to other URLs in the site. These are some of the best qualities you can show a search engine. Having a sitemap and updating it to major search engines regularly can give you a huge boost of traffic in a very short time.

Submit your website to as many website directories as possible. Most website directories will let you submit your website for free. This can be a great way to bring in traffic but can take time to see results. Try and set up the keywords on your website. Put as many keywords as you can that relate to what your product is about. This way search engines will find content related to your business/product. This can be very effective if you get good at it.

Use Google adwords and bid on others so you can be seen on the first page all the time. Google adwords is a great way to bring traffic. Making things your self to resell online can be a huge profit maker if you find your niche. All you pay for is the materials in most cases. The cost is low and you stand to make all profit compared to buying and reselling items.

And guess what? Items made at home on ebay sell fantastic! Especially if that’s all you do as a seller. Your reputation will be trusted as this type of seller. I have seen people selling home-made items and making over 400 sales a week. Ten dollars a sale or more at over 400 sales a week; makes for a lot of money in your pocket. Not to shabby for selling items you made.

E-books about your area of expertise can make you lots of money. Ebay doesn’t let you digital download anymore. But if you feel like burning some cd’s of e-books and info books you created, this is a good road to take. Information is a number one seller on ebay. Find out what you know best and help people by writing an e-book. You might even create a million dollar e-book.

Crafts and hand-made jewelry are another good money maker. It may not make you as much money as some of the other things I mention, but its fun. Some people make jewelry or do crafts as a hobby. If this happens to be your hobby, try to sell some of the things you make. I bet you will find yourself pleasantly surprised.

T-shirts are another good money maker. You may not be able to make your own t-shirts at home. But you can go to a local t-shirt company in town or go with a t-shirt design company online. Think of some crazy slogans or current events and make your own tee. Slogans, phrases, and current events will always do you good. You can have 500 t-shirts made for under $2.00 each. Sell them at $5.00 and will double your money and then some. I have done this myself and to this day, sell t-shirts I created. It usually takes about a week and a half to sell 500 t-shirts. Sell more than 2 different t-shirts at the same time and you will easily make over $1000.00 a week or more every week on ebay.

Cat posts and toys can make you some very good money. Some cat houses and scratch posts can cost $100.00 or more if you bought one. You can make a very simple cat house or scratch post in under 30 minutes to make $30-$50 to sell it on ebay or any other place online. All you need is carpet and the cardboard roll the carpet comes in. You can buy carpet remnants very cheap at your local carpet store. Now use the carpet roll to wrap some carpet around. Throw some thick rope around it; put it on a base, and you just made a $30-$50 scratch post. When you get good at it, you can build a house with scratch posts and sell for over $100.00 each! Not bad for something you can do in an hour or less.

Bird/Parrot toys are another good way to make money at home. Bird toys are expensive! But they are easy to make. And lots of people want to buy them cheaper than $10-$100 a toy. You can build a $30.00 bird toy in less than 15 minutes. Get some children’s building blocks (the ones with letters on them). Get some twined rope or plastic thread. Get a few lightweight and low priced bells at your local hardware store. Get some construction paper. Get some small wicker or hay ornaments (you can find these at places like the Christmas tree shop)

Use the twine or plastic thread as the base. Drill a hole through the children’s building blocks. Place the bell on the twine at the very bottom. Just tie a knot big enough to hold it on the twine or plastic thread. Place a block through the rope on the bell. Now place a small wicker or hay ornament on. Cut a square piece of construction paper with a hole in the middle and place it on the ornament. Repeat this combination (minus the bells, you only need one) until you have no room on the rope. Make the rope as long as you want (preferably a common size, 12″ seems to be a popular size for bird toys). If you make a 12″ bird toy like this, they resell for $30-$50 each.

Chocolate, fudge, and candy are fantastic money makers. Most sellers make their candy and then resell it on ebay as well as their website. Candy is a great money maker, everyone likes it. It’s fairly easy to do and it sells great once you create a good reputation. Some people online make over $5000.00 a week making and selling their home-made candy.

Here is one I bet you didn’t know makes tons of money. Did you know people make dog biscuits and dog toys to sell on ebay? They are very easy to make and they sell great! You can find a trusted recipe for dog biscuits and modify it very easily. If you have a dog, you have a tester, lol. People that sell dog biscuits made at home shape them like a bone (you can find cutters like shaped like bones if you look around on ebay). Then they put them in a package and sell them online.

Gift baskets are another great way to make money online. Some small business dedicate their whole business to doing gift baskets for holidays and special occasions. Gift baskets are very easy and very cheap to create. Gift baskets will always be popular and people pay good money for them. You just have to know what is popular at the time. For example, for Easter you want to do gift baskets with candy. And for valentines day gear the business towards candy and flowers, maybe even some wine and cheese also. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by, gift baskets are an excellent way to bring in a side income.

Money Candles are another way to make money for your self. Money candles are those candles that when they burn down, you find real money. Some people put from $1-$50 in each candle. Obviously you don’t put $50 in each one when you make the candles. In fact, most candles contain only $5.00. It’s all in the fun of waiting for the candle to burn before you find out how much money was inside. If you are selling each candle at $20.00 or more (most money candles sell for more than $20.00 each) you can afford to slip a big money candle by you for the feedback and return customers. You can find an online recipe for money candles all over the internet.

First you need to know what domain names sell the best. Then you have to know that a small domain name is worth a lot more than a long domain name. For example; burn.com would be worth more than weburncdromsformoney.com. For the simple reason of, a small domain name is easier to type in to an address bar. Yes, having a small domain means a lot to a person interested in buying the domain from you.

Then you have to learn about page rank and SEO. Page rank is an important factor when buying or selling a domain name. If the website already has lots of visitors, it will have a higher page rank, thus making it worth more money.

SEO is important; if the domain name can already be found on search engines, it will tend to be worth more money. Some people will buy a good domain name for a cheap price because it has low page rank or low SEO. Then they will advertise the crap out of the domain to make the page rank higher. Then they can sell the domain for a lot more money, making more profit in the long run.

Selling domain names can be very profitable. In fact, some people making a living from buying and reselling domain names. Here is what an average domain seller would do to make money. There are two ways to make money from selling domain names.

The first way is from buying a good domain name and reselling it quick for immediate profit. Let’s say, you buy burn.com for $100.00. That’s only 4 letters long and right off the bat would be worth money to someone for being a short domain name. This domain name is probably already receiving traffic, so it has very good money making potential to an owner of the domain.

The seller could potentially sell this domain for $500.00 or more for a fast sale and $400.00 profit. There are domain cost estimators you could use to find what you should sell the domain for.

I use a website called dnscoop.com to find out what a domain is worth. On dnscoop they say burn.com is worth $471.00 if you were to resell it. So buying it for $100.00 would be a good profit if you wanted to buy then resell it quickly.

The second way a person would make money from buying then reselling a domain name is; to hold on to it for a while before they sell it. They would advertise and market the website domain in the time they own it. Then after advertising and marketing the website for a while (a period of 3 months to a year), they will drive page rank, SEO, and more visitors.

Driving page rank and SEO will make the domain worth more money than at the time they bought the domain. It will be worth more money because the website will have a steady flow of traffic going to it. Then the domain owner could resell it for a substantial amount of money compared to if they sold it right away.

There are two places I would recommend buying domains for profit. Godaddy.com and sedo.com are the best places you can buy available domain names for a good price. You could try and resell them on the same websites you bought them from also.

Or you could resell them in related forums or social marketplace groups. Lots of people will sell, say, a business domain and then sell it in a business related forum. Or they would resell it in a social marketplace group related to business.

You have to be smart if you are going to try buying and reselling domain names. Don’t just buy a bunch a domain names because they sound good. Do some research to find out if they are worth money or could be worth money.

You could also buy what we call potential domain names. For example, the person that bought the domain; Barackobama.com or presidentbarackobama.com probably made a good profit for themselves. They bought the domain long before the president got elected. Then they held on to it and waited for the results. After Mr. Obama got elected as president they probably got offers from all over to sell the domain. Now the $100.00 domain turned in to thousands of dollars profit.

So the answer is YES! You can make really good money if you want to buy and resell domain names. There are lots of strategies out there. It takes a little research, a little experience, and a little bit of a gamble. But in the long run, buying and reselling domain names can be a very profitable business.

Goals will give your business stability as well as direction. You have to plan out your future and figure out where you want to go with your home business. After all, you can’t just be there all of a sudden. You have to slowly climb a ladder of obstacles in your way in order to reach your final target goal.

You have to start off with small goals each day that will let you build up to your final goal. Once you reach your final goal, it will be time to move on and make another set of goals to reach that one final goal again. You will never stop chasing goals if you want to become successful. If will be one, big, continuous circle that will never end. And if you stick to it, you will eventually be where you want to be in life.

Goals are like life’s stepping stones. You have to step on each stone to reach the last one. And when you reach the last one, pat yourself on the shoulder and get ready to do it again. With each big target goal you reach, your next set of goals should be more complex with your last target goal being the hardest.

Your stepping stone or daily goals should all bring you eventually closer to your main target goal. For example, if your goal was to make $50,000 a year working at home; you would have to map out your daily goals each and everyday to eventually meet your $50,000 goal. If you don’t keep at it every single day, you will probably never reach that sort of goal.

But if you map out daily goals like, advertise and market, answer emails, post on the blog, list 20 items on ebay, post 10 new items for sale on my website, write some articles to create back links, send Google the sitemap to my websites, sign up for affiliate programs and list the affiliate links in various places, do some research on what’s hot right now in home business and keep at it every day, you will eventually reach your goals. If you map out some daily goals like this, you will eventually reach your target goal of making $50,000 per year.

Goals are very hard to stick to and do every single day. It takes lots of dedication and hard work. You have to motivate yourself to stick with the game plan. Some people motivate themselves by thinking of how much money they will make by sticking with their goals. Others motivate themselves by thinking how much freedom their home business will bring them when they don’t have to report to a regular 9-5 job.

My goals are simple this year. In 2009 I want to have more than 2000 readers on my blog (I have a little less than 1000 right now). I want to reach my 100,000 customer (I have already reached over 80,000 customers in the past 7 years). So I need to double my readers and I only need a little under 20,000 overall customers this year in my home business.

I have created daily goals that I have to stick to, that will eventually help me reach my two target goals. If I reach my target goals before 2009 ends, I will create another target goal or two to chase down. Then I will create more daily goals to reach my target goals. Get it? It’s a never ending process when you are in business for yourself. You should never be satisfied. You should always keep pushing forward if you want to be successful.

That one day will eventually come when you won’t have to work as hard. That day when you have built up your reputation so people know who you are. It’s all about reputation in the end. If people don’t know and trust you, they won’t give you their business. But if people do know and trust you, you know that you did a great job mapping out your goals that got you there. You’ll know because business will be non-stop and your cash flow will be never ending.

Remember, daily goals are just as important as your target goals. Your daily goals will slowly help you reach your target goals. You can’t just snap your fingers and be where you want to be. If that were true; Donald Trump or Bill Gates would have done it a long time ago. They both worked very hard to be where they are today. They both mapped out daily goals to help them reach their target goals. Look at where they are today. Don’t you want to be like them?

Chances are; you might not be as rich as Bill Gates or Donald Trump. But if you work hard and keep at your goals, the possibilities are endless. Good luck everyone!

The merchant wants as many affiliate marketers to promote their product as possible. Because, the more affiliates who promote the products, the more money everyone makes in the long run.

The merchant won’t have to find customers themselves, if they have millions of other “affiliates” doing the work for them. Each time an affiliate points a customer towards the merchants product that results in a sale money goes to the merchant, affiliate marketer, and the people who signed up under the affiliate.

Here are four steps to follow that will help you become a successful affiliate marketer.

• Always focus on a product that you have interest in or know about. This will make sure you give it your all when you promote a particular product. You will also gain your customer’s trust and they will be more likely to purchase the product you are promoting. This strategy will always make you more money than a product you are not interested in or know nothing about.
• Look at home much commission is being offered by the merchant. Is it really worth spending countless hours promoting if you are only making a few dollars per sale? I try to make at least $30.00 from each sale.
• Make sure you have a reliable website host provider. You don’t want your customers to go to a website on which you are promoting a certain product that is down for the day. Some of the customers are willing to make a purchase, but they won’t be able to go through with any type of transaction.
• Now you are ready to promote your product and start making money. Promote only the products you know and trust on all your websites and blogs. Promote them of forums, social marketplaces, and newsgroups. People who visit the website where the product is located will help you one way or another. Those who purchase the product will put money in your pocket for each sale. And those who sign up with the affiliate program under you, will make you a smaller commission for each sale. But hey, in affiliate marketing every little bit counts.

The problem was John Donahue got handed the torch and screwed things up royally; for the loyal powersellers of ebay that had supported them for years. The sellers on ebay help pay the bills. But this guy stepped in and made many mistakes starting with spiting on ebay powersellers by doing various things to put them out of business.

He raised fees and hiked up prices everywhere he could. He even took away an honest feedback system. Now the feedback system means nothing because sellers can’t even respond to a buyer’s feedback. That’s just ridiculous. Plus he said he didn’t need powerseller’s anyway. That’s just the beginning.

Ebay’s powersellers went from 56% of the members down to 16% in just three months because of his many insane changes against sellers. Since paypal is tied in with ebay it gets even worse. Paypal will withhold your high end transaction money until you ship the item. That’s ridiculous! Buyers have been waiting for the merchandise, saying they didn’t get it so they get a refund through paypal. Then the buyer gets their money back and the goods for free.

It’s a losing game all around for the sellers on ebay. Especially since retail stores and wholesalers are selling their goods just over wholesale prices. Small business owners are no competition when their own wholesaler is the competition!

But that’s okay there are many ways to make money besides ebay. Overstock.com, webidz.com, amazon.com, onlineauction.com, ebid.com, ioffer.com, ubid.com, half.com (owned by ebay), epier.com, craigslist.com, sell.com, blujay.com, ecrater.com, and bidz.com are just a few great ones. New auction marketplaces are popping up all over. Good ones too.

There was a time when ebay was top dog in the auction marketplace world. But just as I predicted when good ol’ Johnny boy took over in 2008, ebay would eventually crumble. In fact, the reason why the powersellers on ebay dropped 40% was because the powersellers on ebay all petitioned to boycott ebay after John’s insane changes.

John said the petition would never work and in his own words “He doesn’t need them anyway”. Here it is 2009 and ebay reported a substantial loss in profits over all of 2008. So most ebay powersellers took to the high road and started their own website or found other means to make money from home.

Having your own website is much better than ebay anyway, it’s all profit!! The other powersellers who didn’t have means of making their own website moved onto things like; Flea markets, garage/yard sales, boot sales, fairs, classifieds/want ads, collector’s conventions, and offline auctions. Some sellers moved on to the easy life by becoming affiliate marketers. There is always a way to survive. Especially, when the forces are against you on ebay.

Having your own website/s will overwhelmingly make your more money in the long run. Just put all your concentration on advertising and marketing it every single day. In three months you will see a huge boost in traffic and sales. Keep it up and as each month goes by you will double your traffic. Traffic equals sales. Soon you will be able to make a living on your website and make all profit with each transaction.

After all, as John Donahue says “We don’t need them anyway”. Get away from ebay and start making a living off of your home business instead of dishing back to a company who doesn’t care about you or your needs.
