Nadav Fink has just graduated from Israel's Shenkar College Of Engineering And Design and finally presents his graduate collection Terrible Angels.

»I started working on my collection with Rilke’s idea of Terrible Angels (from the 1922 poem Duineser Elegien). Rilke says that each single angel is terrible because the angels, contrary to humans, are divine, immortal, and by their nature superior to us, and therefore are a constant reminder of the inferiority, temporariness and insignificance of human beings in the endlessness of time and space.

In my collection I chose to focus on two aspects of the Elegies. The first aspect is expressed in the first Elegy: For Beauty’s nothing but the beginning of Terror we’re still just able to bear, and why we adore it so is because serenely disdains to destroy us. We don’t feel very securely at home within our interpreted world. There remains, perhaps, some tree on a slope, to be looked at day after day. These two quotes, which set the tone and severity of the insights rose throughout the Elegies, point towards an apocalyptic feeling that hovers in the air, on which Rilke addresses the angel. In addition to the apocalyptic notions in the Duineser Elegies, I also referred to Tony Kushenr’s 1991 play Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes. The hero in Kushner’s play, a thirty-years old HIV infected man, is visited by an angel that carries a prophecy. The angel says that humans must stop progressing and migrating, because by doing so the made God leave heaven.

The second aspect of Rilke’s elegies I focused on is the tension between the divine and the earthly. Rilke says that the angel’s response to the human’s calling is a meeting place of the earthly and the divine. Although us humans hold tight to the visible and the physical, the angel allows us to look into the divine, the invisible, into everything that transcends our understanding. The angel allows us to perceive all things as suspended between heaven and earth.

Julius is a Japanese fashion label run and designed by Tatsuro Horikawa. The label focuses on presenting a wide array of gothic inspired clothing, utilizing the color black extensively to explore its meaning in both Avant Garde, spiritual, and religious aspects of the designer’s life. Started as a primarily art related project, Julius has surpassed Horikawa's original label focus in Nuke, presenting in the Tokyo Collection annually since 2004 and growing to a cult status in both Japan and abroad.

Designer Tatsuro Horikawa started his own design company in 1996 with Third Stone Co. Ltd, followed the following year by his first fashion label, Nuke. The label was a large success but lasted only until his next major project was undertaken in Julius, started in 2001 as an art project to present audio and video presentations for Spring/Summer collections and art shows. The label grew from there becoming a full fledged fashion project that coincides with artistic endeavors from Horikawa.

The first presentation of clothing and audio/video projects from Julius occurred in 2004 with the Spring/Summer collection at the Tokyo Collection. A follow up show occurred at the Modern Art Gallery as well with paintings and abstract art pieces that inspired his clothing line. Tatsuro Horikawa has long been known for his fusion of art and fashion into singular entities, utilizing a similar philosophy for both aspects of his career. He has long stated that “a collection is created when different elements are accumulated to such a point that they form into one exceptional vision or idea” and the result has been present in his work with elements including architecture, music, art, sound, ambience, travel, and emotion.

The goal then, according to Horikawa is to contribute to the lifestyle of the individual rather than just the wardrobe.

Black is the base for all creations in the Juluis line, and most clothing does not branch out much further. The idea of madness and grief that black symbolizes often appears in Horikawa’s work in the form of drooping strap, narrow legged pants, and heavy boots. The collections take their cues from recent developments in goth fashion from the likes of h.NAOTO but with more mature, upscale clothing as its base, including trenchcoats, tuxedo jackets, and slacks. Because Julius began as an art project, the clothing is a secondary aspect, changing annually to reflect the direction in which Horikawa takes the label. His work utilizes a great deal of underground imagery and artistic expressions with heavy black leather as a common material.

Dean and Dan Caten (born Dean and Dan Catenacci) are identical twin brother fashion designers and the creators of DSquared2, a high-end fashion label.

The brothers are known for designing clothes and staging elaborate fashion shows with "explosive energy". They design men's and women's apparel, men's and women's footwear, fragrances, and cosmetics. A runway show in 2005 ended with Christina Aguilera stripping male models of their clothes. In September 2007, the DSquared2 fashion show in Milan featured Rihanna entering the stage in an American muscle car, followed by a runway walk. In January 2010, the DSquared2 Autumn/Winter 2010 menswear show in Milan featured Bill Kaulitz descending from the ceiling in a caged elevator à la Rocky Horror Picture Show, followed by a runway walk. Bill Kaulitz opened and closed the Dsquared2 Autumn/Winter 2010 menswear show in Milan. Their designs have been worn by Britney Spears, Madonna, Tokio Hotel's lead singer Bill Kaulitz, Justin Timberlake, Ricky Martin, Nicolas Cage, and Lenny Kravitz. The Catens were awarded the 2003 GQ Men of the Year Breakout Design Award. In 2006, they received the Golden Needle Award, joining past prestigious winners such as Oscar de la Renta, Gianni Versace, Manolo Blahnik, Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galliano, and Tom Ford. On June 16, 2009, it was announced that the duo would receive a star on Canada's Walk of Fame in Toronto. The induction ceremony was held on September 12, 2009.

I have so many pictures! So this is just a little preview of what i have been doing for the last two weeks!

Copenhagen, Oslo and bergen, wow, what a journey, but so fun!
I had the pleasure to meet soooo many fantastic people!
Also i got the opportunity to meet some of the people behind the brand, "Aleksandr Manamis"
and also try som of the pieces in their amazing collection Autumn/Winter 2011!
This has been a trip that i will remember for life!

Also i learned a very important lesson, and that is to take a chance in life,
