The CW Network and ESPN have announced a new sublicense broadcast agreement for The CW to televise ACC football and men’s and women’s college basketball games through the 2030-31 season. As part of this long-term relationship, The CW will air 14 regular season football games, 30 men’s basketball games, and 10 women’s basketball games each season. All games will be available to watch nationwide live on The CW’s linear broadcast network, and for the first time, stream live on the ESPN App with the ESPN Unlimited plan.

The CW first began broadcasting ACC games during the 2023-24 season, with the ACC serving as the network’s entry into live college sports. Four out of the top five highest-viewed college football games on The CW have been ACC matchups, including 2023’s North Alabama at Florida State game, which ranks as the most-watched college football game on The CW to date. Last season, CW broadcasts of ACC football generated 26% year-over-year growth in total viewers and saw significant double-digit increases in adults 18-49 (+32%) and adults 25-54 (+25%). The CW also saw its highest viewership yet for ACC men’s and women’s basketball during the 2025-26 season, with total viewers up 6% and 26%, respectively.

All CW Sports will broadcast live on The CW Network as well as stream live on the ESPN App for fans with an ESPN Unlimited subscription plan, including live coverage of college football and men’s and women’s basketball from the ACC, Pac-12 and Mountain West conferences, the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, WWE NXT, PBA Bowling, PBR Bull Riding, AVP volleyball and the 2026 Arizona Bowl. During his opening remarks at today's Big 12 media session, Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark said, "We will distribute this year $558 million to our member institutions, which is a record high. We see real potential and growth opportunity for the business of the Big 12 in the area of the commercial partnerships and sponsorships. We see real upside. I'm incredibly bullish on the future of the Big 12, as we head into this new chapter in our industry.

"We will be at the forefront of innovation, and we're going to continue to possibly disrupt while competing for Championships at the highest levels."

The 2023 newcomers to the Big 12 (BYU, UCF, Cincinnati and Houston), all of which joined from Group of Five affiliations except BYU, previously an FBS Independent, will receive payouts of $19 million.

Beginning in the 2025-26 athletic year, all four receive full shares in the Big 12.

Later during the session, Commissioner Yormark was asked about ESPN and FOX

Q: What is ESPN and FOX going to do to increase visibility and marquee television windows with the new 6 year media rights deal as to what changes in terms of the inventory window.?

Brett Yormark: A great question we have great media partners, obviously with ESPN and FOX and then they've sub-licensed some of our content to TNT, CBS and NBC. So really in our family, now we have 5 of the biggest distribution partners that exist in collegiate sports, which gives us an advantage to elevate and amplify our brand to do more storytelling. When you think about the windows and being on broadcast television because right now that's the widest a reaching platform to be on in our first 3 weeks, 11 of the games from FOX -- 9 are on Big FOX. We're also featured on ESPN one quite a bit in those first 3 weeks, so I'm very confident that our TV Partners will continue to put us in the right TV windows; soo we can elevate and amplify what we do and tell the great stories around our student-athletes and our conference. That being said, you've seen that we're moving a couple of games more so that we have the past to Friday nights, because there's clearer air there.

We've got a couple of games on Thursday nights. And we will continue to work with the board and the ADs on whether there are other windows that we can exploit with our TV Partners, they're not disruptive to our campuses, but enhance, you know, the viewership opportunities for our school.
