Global Warming is caused by the green house effect. The green house effect is when pollutants gets into the air, like car exhaust, plane exhaust, and all sorts of smog, these are examples of carbon dioxide. The atmosphere use to be able to filter out all of "the bad stuff". Now it can filter out some, but there is too much carbon dioxide. "The bad stuff" is trapped, just like the air in a green house. So, our Earth is heating up, ice is melting, climates are changing dramatically. Global Warming has already exceeded to the extent where it isn't stoppable.
