FurFright 2010's Cakecon was a stankin' success thanks to Turd Ferguson and the other cool dads running things there. Not a perfect recording but an otherwise flawless performance. A recording of the actual event doesn't exist omg! Why?! I was dumb, that's why. So this is just as good. I hope! Hey everyone. Guess what, it's my birthday! Yup, today I turn 24. Holy shit I'M GETTIN OLD, SON.

So I'm doing something slightly different. On MY birthday, I'm providing YOU guys with a gift! Isn't that nice? :D The gift is this audio file: a recording of my live performance at Further Confusion 2011's Dead Dog Dance. Of course, for my hour, between 9 and 10pm Monday night, it was the Dead Fox Dance.

This recording kind of abruptly STARTS right in the middle (realize I wasn't recording until the second song) and the poor Atom processor on my Eee PC wasn't cranking out enough power to play AND record flawlessly. I assure you the speakers put out no flaws or skips in the music, but the reordering suffers a bit at a few points. I hope it won't prevent your enjoyment of listening to the track :3

It's a little rough around the edges, but should show what I'm capable of for anyone looking for a dance DJ for whatever! Mostly I've been bored this summer and just have sudden moments of inspiration to do something creative, so I mix up some music for fun. Enjoy!

Dead Fox Party: FA: United 2010 Dance

FA: United's Dead Dog Dance ended up ending early and I wanted to party! So me, Wes and Mozee went down and brought a minimal amount of equipment (my EeePC, midi controller, headphones, external sound card, and mozee's pair of RCA speakers) and we made a dance happen!

Note: There are A FEW audio glitches in this recording. Some songs seem to skip around more often than others. Drop Down by Designer Drugs kinda goes all over the place (around 51 minutes in) but only in the recording. It was an improvised show and everything was done off-the-fly and last minute. Except for one occurrence, the recording is more or less flawless. I had heard some audio glitches previewing it on my Droid. I guess it's got some limitations when it comes to large file playback.

But what's important is we had an awesome time doing this! And I'm looking to improve and expand my library, so please let me know if there's any tracks of genres not being represented enough and maybe give me a few examples to go off on.

At 3 hours, this was my longest nonstop setlist to date. I do have Wes and Mozee to thank for their help with a lot of this. The audio cuts out at around 2 hours 40 minutes though, because my D: drive filled up. I told you, this was completely unprepared!

05/02/08 Show: Approaching The End

Can you believe it? This is the second to last show!

I'll keep things brief cause I was off hanging out with friends and I'm exhausted. The first three minutes are crap and a train wreck cause the headphone adapter was broken. I had to fiddle with it for a while to get it working. But after that unfortunate mishap, the rest of the show is AWESOME.

I got a couple of callers and a lot of requests. Certainly a show worthy to be the second to last one POSSIBLY EVER.

04/25/08 Show: Sharpnel and Broken Mics

I am a lot happier with how this show came out as opposed to last weeks. Had a lot more music on there that I enjoyed.

Only problem is all the equipment in our studio was FUCKED UP. Now not only in the stereo jack being dumb but the microphones as well. Oh and not to mention automation went out at the end with me doing nothing to it. It was running fine when I went in, faded out, and it didn't come back :/

So I am a little frustrated now but the show itself went well. I tried to fade out the parts where it was really distorted (and not part of the song lol) and unlistenable. But yeah, sound quality is not great on this one. It's a shame cause there were some really good transitions and song selections. I don't think it really got bad until the very end, so I just omitted that.

First off I will say that this is by far not my best show. A lot of things went technically wrong though I still made it sound okay.

Song selections are interesting and varied and I played a lot of stuff I don't usually play. We didn't have enough people call in :G

I'm really tired and I've been doing a lot of work and haven't had time to listen to a lot of new music to play. Honestly I've just been listening to m1dy and DJ Sharpnel, and that was all I wanted to listen to. That and Flashbulb.

Maybe next week's show will be better. I only have like 3 or so shows left and then after that is the summer, and then after that I'm thinking of transferring schools, so I may not even come back. Though if at all possible, I will still try to keep the podcast up and record my shows I do at the other school's radio station. Here's to hoping at least :3

Try not to get too scared by the beginning, hahaha

I think I maintain a unique, ever-changing energy throughout this show. No major trainwrecks, not a ton of callers, but a fun show with some amazing music. As always, it was fun.

I'm tired and can't think of anything else. But oh my God listen all the way to the end. I save my very best stuff for the last few moments.

03/14/08 Show: Pre Anime Boston Show

So I've been out of it most of today. Only had one meal all day, blah blah, stupid stuff...

This show came out of nowhere. I spent more time and focus in putting it together than usual, and I was more concentrated in my mixing, and it shows. This ended up being one of my best shows I've done. The transitions are DAMN good.

A few callers but nothing crazy off the wall.

03/07/08 Show: Featuring DJ Kelsie Pop

My good friend Kelsie joins me for this show of random Bemani shit and various awesome stuff.

This is most likely the most alcohol-intensive shows I've ever done hahaha. I am even drunk as I type this, with Kelsie passed out on my bed. The show itself was really, REALLY awesome. It had just the right balance of amazing music and awesome people calling in. Including SPUI! (kind of)

But yeah. Bemaniso represent! A word of caution, there is a lot of ADULT LANGUAGE in this cause Kelsie can't stop herself from saying fuck and shit. Hopefully the FCC isn't after our asses now.

Also, the show runs about 20 minutes overtime because Tom turned off the automation system again and I had to wait for them to come fix it, ugh.

02/15/08 Show: What the hell

Don't let the name fool you. This was actually a pretty amazing show, in a really surprising way. Maybe that's why I feel so dumbfounded right now.

Okay, the show isn't nearly as ridiculous and unpredictable without other furry people in the studio, but it was still pretty ridiculous with the people we had calling in.

I pull off some amazing transitions and I don't think I fucked up badly the whole show, regardless of my software BUGGING THE FUCK OUT for no reason, ugh.

The show's music starts out very DARK and then gets really happy near the end. So...what the hell.

I have a headahce ~_~ I've been out of it all day and I'm probably going to bed as soon as this uploads.

SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG TO UPLOAD EVERYONE. Floe and Necco are still over here and things are crazy and I haven't been able to get it fully up until now.

Holy shit this show is ridiculous. We have a million people calling in, talking about furries, weird gross stories, and generally trolling the shit out of us.

WARNING: This show contains unintentional strong language and is a deviation from my regular show because I had special guests Floe and Sookta in the studio with me. Three furries in a radio station. Oh shit.

I could go on and on about this show and how amazing it is. And how hilariously awful it is. But really, you should listen in. There are far too many people that called in to list. Necco, Wag, Skunkdude, ATOMICCAT (go burn in hell :3) Shanerak, and many more.

No, really. This is both the best and the worst show I have ever had. Shit goes wrong. People laugh. Everyone has a good time :D

01/25/08 Show: "Achievment Unlocked: Drunken Mixer"

Wow, been a long time since I've done a show :O

The opening was kind of messy as it took me longer to get my shit together. That and I forgot my headphone adapter, which would explain a few moments where I couldn't be heard over the music.

As far as new business, I turned 21 technically 4 days ago (Tuesday, on the 22nd) so...that was pretty sweet.

I got a new USB MIDI mixer board for Christmas so I can manipulate my music a lot easier and do effects and scratching and whatnot. That and the increased amount of focus and less actual struggling with the program explains why this may sound better than my other shows. Personally I think it's my most epic to date.

Expect more great-sounding shows like this to come :D Maybe I'll even get around to making that demo for FA: United. Would be sweet if I could do a gig there.

12/14/07 Show: Video Game Nerdiness before 2008

This is it! The last show of this semester. No more radio shows until I return to school on January 22nd, which just happens to be my 21st birthday. Wooooo

I really fucking rushed this show together. I was tired and had a sore throat and it was fucking COLD outside, but I surprized myself, and this ended up being a REALLY good show. One of my best, actually. I'm really trying to get better as I might be DJing at a furry con come August!!

Anyway...

An abnormal amount of video-game based songs in this show. Only real highlight I could think of. Aside from the fact that Ekans called in and chatted with me a bit before requesting a song. Even though my show went TRAINWRECK because of it, it was worth it.

So ya when it's 2008. In the mean time I'll be killing myself trying to write this paper 8)

11/30/07 Show: Hardcore on a Cold Winter Night

Probably one of the most fun shows I have done |O

I am not proud of my transitions in this, but maybe when I listen to it again I will be more impressed, who knows. I am looking into getting a SWEET MIDI controller for my laptop so I have actual knobs and buttons and sliders to work with rather than...a mouse.

Featured in this show: extended versions of songs I edited together myself! One is an amazing Portal-themed song by Renard. The other is a 3 minute or so version of Go Beyond!! by Ryu☆ Vs. Sota, from the beatmania IIDX DistorteD CS Soundtrack. Not bad on both accounts, I think.

I'm becoming so self-critical |O But if I gave myself more time to practice transitions with different songs and using other techniques, I know I'll get better. I probably made the least amount of mistakes or bad transitions in this show!

Okay, shutting up now.

So fucking cold outside.

I didn't think I could make a better show than my last wrong. But I guess I underestimated myself.

I kind of mix genres in this show. It's a bit of a rocky start and a few things sound weird, but it very quickly picks up into a full-audial kick in the ass. I've figured out a few more technical issues I was having with the last show, and did what I could to keep things interesting.

Of course, I also got really caught up in it and didn't even mention the names of a lot of songs I played. Whoops ^^; If you're curious about any of the tracknames, just ask me.

I should get to bed early tonight. I have to do this again tomorrow D:

09/28/07 Show: UK Hardcore Nonstop Mix

Holy crap. This was seriously...so much fun to do...

This is it. My first ever, extended, nonstop DJ mix, featuring the best of UK Hardcore music.

Not much to say here. There are no musical interruptions, so you get almost 2 hours of nonstop music with a bit of commentary here and there. It was really, really fun to do :D Maybe make a career of this?

A few minor mistakes here and there, but I'd say not bad for my first time. Maybe I'll try this again next week. Maybe not. Who knows.

I would say this is easily my best show to date. Although I already have ideas for next time on how to make it even better.

P.S. Uploaded and everything in 1hour 34minutes. Not bad.

New show up only an hour and a half later? I must be getting good at this! :D

So I decided to do something a little different this time. I used one of the DJ programs I got for my laptop, Virtual DJ, to try and do some nonstop mixing with a few of my songs. I didn't do it for the whole show as that would take too much planning, but it was pretty cool and sounded damn good for my first time ever.

And holy crap it was so exciting too! I think I could get into this. :D

This episode is notable for gabbas and lots of DETHKLOK. Go buy the new album, in stores soon.

There are a few problems with this particular show. Mainly, a few errors I made myself in transitioning between songs, as well as a few technological flaws with certain songs sounding too treble-ish and distorted.

Every show after this, however, has been improved in quality steadily, so stay tuned.
