<p>The Women’s Expo is being held Saturday, November 7<sup>th</sup> at the Expo Building at the Flathead County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and you’re invited. The event is open to the public and will consist of a variety of fun, interactive booths featuring make-up demonstrations, chair massages, cookware demonstrations, a silent auction, guest speakers, a fashion show and more.  Hosted by the members of Biz to Biz Network Inc., proceeds from this event will be donated to the <strong>Montana Violence Free Crisis Line</strong> and the <strong>Abbie Shelter</strong>.</p>
<h3>Guest speakers include:</h3>
<p><strong>10:30 a.m.    Mary Wallace</strong> – Get Organized in 15 minutes a day!</p>
<p><strong>11:00 a.m.    Nan Russell</strong> – Hitting Your Stride – Your work, your way!</p>

<p>It’s time to walk your dog in support of Flathead County Animal Shelter animals!  Flathead Shelter Friends is sponsoring “Tails on Trails,” Dog Walk-a-Thon on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Rails to Trails on Meridian Road beginning at Mile One at the RR tracks in Kalispell and you’re invited.</p>
<p>Registration for the event begins at 9:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m. (rain or shine).  The registration booth is located at the Ron Terry Construction parking lot (7 Meridian Ct.), one building southwest of the trail start.  The event will conclude at 1:30 p.m. with contest and awards at the registration booth area. Since this is a fundraiser to help support Flathead Shelter Friends, make sure to obtain a pledge/donation sheet in advance by calling 250-6510. </p>
<p>Registration fees are $15 per dog walker, $35 for a family of 4 or less, and groups or teams of 3 can register for $35.  All participating dogs will receive a free Flathead Shelter Friends bandana.  Water and protein bars will be available at no charge for all walkers and poop scoop dog bags and water will be available for the dogs along the trail.  So pick up the phone and call 250-6510 and make plans to attend!</p>

<p>We have been really busy this week &#8211; getting ready for the <strong>Arts &amp; Crafts Fair</strong> on Saturday, 11am &#8211; 5pm at the <strong>Humane Society</strong>, 3499 Hwy 93 N in Kalispell.  This is a great opportunity to buy local products from artists, crafters and home based businesses.  The holidays are almost here! </p>
<p>This is our 2nd. annual event and it will be almost twice as big as last year&#8217;s fair.  Also, we&#8217;ll be holding an open house of the adoption center, so stop by, enjoy the Arts &amp; Crafts Fair and tour our facility. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>In town, filming his unscripted and action packed series, “Into the Wild,” Jack Hanna and his family and film crew stopped by Friday to film a segment at the <a href="http://www.hsnwmt.com/"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Charlotte Edkins Animal Adoption Center.</span></a>  Hanna and his wife Suzi, who own a home in Bigfork, have been long-time supporters of the adoption center. </p>
<p>As part of their summer visit, they are filming in Montana and Canada and the shows are expected to air this fall.  “<a href="http://www.jackhanna.com/intothewild.html" target="_blank"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild”</span></a> program is nationally syndicated and airs in 30 countries.  Last year the program won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Children’s Series and Hannah was nominated for Outstanding Host of a Children’s Series.  To “Jungle Jack,” his family and film crew – thank you, our doors are open any time!</p>

<p>Our adoption center located at <a href="http://www.hsnwmt.com/contact_us.htm"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">3499 Hwy 93 N</span></a> in Kalispell, Montana provides temporary housing for homeless cats and dogs in Flathead County and is opened to the public Tuesday – Saturday from 11am – 5pm.  Whether you’re looking to <a href="http://www.hsnwmt.com/adoptapet.htm"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">adopt a pet</span></a> or <a href="http://www.hsnwmt.com/volunteerofmonth.htm"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">volunteer</span></a> to help homeless animals, our kennels are full of furry, four-legged companions just waiting to meet you.</p>

<p>To celebrate the joy pets bring into our lives, clergy from 10 local multi-faith congregations will conduct an animal blessing celebration on Saturday, July 11<sup>th</sup> from 11am – 1pm.  Sponsored by The Flathead Valley Multi-Faith Organization, the location for this free event is the east side pavilion at Woodland Park in Kalispell.  The celebration will include music, singing, story-telling, a pet blessing, <a href="http://www.hsnwmt.com/dogadoption.htm">ambassador dogs</a> from the <a href="http://www.hsnwmt.com/aboutus.htm">Charlotte Edkins Animal Adoption Center </a>and lunch may be purchased from on-site food vendors.  What a great venue for a family picnic!</p>
