REMEMBERING
JOY DIVISION
BY Leroy Skye

After being inspired by bands like the Sex Pistols,Buzzcocks, and Slaughter And The Dogs, four young men got together and started a band. Originally named WARSAW, the band members were Ian Curtis, a multi-talented vocalist and lyric writer, who also would play guitar at times, Bernard Sumner, who handled both guitar and keyboard, Peter Hook on bass, and Stephen Morris on drums. Initially they were moved by early punk rock influences, but later morphed into the post-punk movement of the late 1970s .

They first gained notable exposure when Tony Wilson, a Manchester television personality heard their self-released 1978 debut EP "An Ideal For Living" . He allowed them to produce an album "Unknown Pleasures" on his independent label , Factory Records ; which drew some critical acclaim from the british media. They changed their band's name and became JOY DIVISION in January of 1978, after another popular band, THE WARSAW PAKT released and album earlier in 1977. They did not want to be confused with the Warsaw Pakt.

The name "Joy Division" comes from a book about the life in a concetration camp of young women held captive within the camp for the pleasures of nazi officers officers on leave; the corp of young women was called "The Joy Division". This name along with some of the band's album covers, were said by critics to promote nazism, but according to Joy Division, this was not so, and that their songs gave out almost the opposite meaning; and that there were other punk bands that used far more extreme nazi symbolism , that got no negative criticism whatsoever.

Things started looking up for Joy Division, they began getting more recognition in 1979, Ian Curtis appeared on the cover of THE NEW MUSICAL EXPRESS, but circumstances were not well with Ian Cutis, he was diagnosed with epilepsy. He began having seizures that were unpredictable and the time of the occurences varied and so did the intensities; Ian Curtis was placed on medications.

On Febuary 14th, 1979, a recording session recorded by John Peel featuring Joy Division, which was recorded earlier in January 1979, was played on national radio in the UK, and was later released in July of 79; sells were not as good as they had hoped. They toured Europe in January of 1980, their journey took them through Belgium,Holland, and Germany. Bootleggers recorded these appearances and made knock-offs of the performances.

Ian Curtis continued to have difficulties due to his epilepsy and suffered extreme bouts of depression. He was having marriage problems and his relationship with Deborah, his wife, was in peril.

Joy Division completed their album, "Closer" and it was hailed and praised as a major success for the band; They planned an american tour and further discussions were planned by Warner Brothers.

In July, Joy Division gave four concerts in London in the span of three days. These shows took their toll on Ian Curtis, who had suffered an epileptic seizure on stage. On the 7th of April, Ian took a drug overdose, possibly an attempt at suicide, or maybe it was a cry for help. The stress caused from his illness, and his combined marriage problems, had Ian thinking about getting out of the music business altogether.

Joy Division played their last gig on May 2nd at Birmingham University. Fortuanately, the concert was taped, and the only live performance of the song, "Ceremony" was preserved.

On May 18th,1980, Ian Curtis committed suicide by hanging himself. He was found at his home in Macclesfield. He hung himself in the kitchen after watching "Stroszek", a film by Werner Herzog, and then listening to Iggy Pop.

THE SLEEPING GIANT AWAKENS

By Leroy Skye

It all began at the home studio belonging to Jose Aberto Moraes on keyboards, bass, and guitars, with Walter Scheufler on vocals, harmonica, and percussion. Where they recorded a conceptual story, "Temple" a place where all spoken words are stored. That recording helped Jose to build their original Temple Of Sound , with diverse inner influences as *Genesis, *Lou Reed, *ELP, *Miles Davis,* Bob Dylan, and* Robert Johnson.

The group produced their second CD , "The Space Messiah" with guest musicians, Juao Carvalho (guitars), and Nonato Teixeira (drums) . The Space Messiah, a musical, is about the duel between the spiritual nature versus the greedy nature of men. A Cello player named Andre Taffarello joined in with the group to go on and perform well-reviewed acoustic shows together. Their album collaboration was cut short by Walter moving to Europe to work on some personal projects.

"At the moment we are working out in a new album called Sleeping Giant and, in the near future, it will be on the road with a new tour. " They said,

"We´ve got some pre scheduled presentations in our country and certainly Sleeping Giant will be promoted in some performances along other tracks from John Armless project. "

THE RISE OF DEMON BOY!

By Leroy Skye

His fans belong to black metal, heavy metal, old school, goth, death metal, electrogoth, he self produces his songs, makes his own videos and even is in comic books; he is Demon Boy.

Demon Boy has been busting out like the fourth of July in all of the dark metallic and gothic genres, he began this odyssey by self producing his first CD,and he handles his own Strategic Marketing management, he is the lead vocalist of the Demon Boy band which include JOE ARENA - on Drums, KEN HUSKY - Bass, JOHNNY (HellFingerz) ZENECKY-Guitars.
Based in New York, Demon Boy is an unsigned act that has skyrocketed to the outer most limits more than any other performers in their genres and are quick becoming Horror genre legends not unlike Alice Cooper,Ozzy , Dio, Tiwisted Sister and Black Sabbath; I can even smell AC/DC in there!

With songs such as "Little Red Riding Bitch", "The Pain In Your Brain Is The Devil In Your Veins" , he could be related to Alice Cooper! But Demon Boy goes way beyond Alice Cooper . Their act is extremely histrionic and the theatrics are said to be straight out of the kingdom of darkness; If your up that way you owe to yourself to check out Demon Boy's ReverbNation page
and also check out the Demon Boy website to find out thier gig schedules. http://www.reverbnation.com/control_room/artist/1414489/dashboard#!/demonboy

BAD ROBOT
by Leroy Skye
If you are searching for good music and vocals, then you should listen to BAD ROBOT, founded by Simon Hall , a completely self taught guitarist, bassist and keyboard player who began his journey playing music on the Brighton Circuit and is now based in Derbyshire. He has played in countless bands as a professional musician and has just recently founded Bad Robot. John is also the founder of the The Mighty Chosen Rejects, who are currently popular on the derbyshire circuit.

"I formed Bad Robot to publicize my own written songs, playing all parts using a home studio. " He said. He has also collaberated with another artist called JTB, (John Barker) " Our first track has just been uploaded to Reverbnation, and is called "I am". JTB focuses mainly on guitar, but has now started inputting to the arrangements. JTB and I are now playing small local gigs while we write more material. "
Bad Robot's main influences are Bowie, Prefab Sprout, Hall and Oates, and the Pet shop boys. " But I do like anything that's arranged and written. We are hoping to raise the profile of Bad Robot feat JTB during summer 2013, and gigs and events will be advertised. We would love a publishing deal. JTB and I love reverbnation. I spend a lot of time listening to the huge range of alternative unsigned artists that feature. I am hoping that with articles like yours that the influence of these kind of sites will become more mainstream. "

Be sure to check out and listen to the artist - BAD ROBOT You won't regret it. http://www.reverbnation.com/control_room/artist/1414489/dashboard#!/badrobot

Original Human

NEEDLE IN TIME

2012-03-10T10:34:00.001-08:00

I have a mission
but I have personal things to do
changing time ahead of time
trying to still stay true
I made a sanctuary , and disabled their device
That doesn't mean I still won't pay the price
But I will still do what I'm supposed to do
the corrected path is being laid
on time and I'm being true
A fugitive in time but I didn't mean it
to become a crime
I made myself lay low
I watched my subject go past the critical mark
I watched her grow
A soul in time was preserved to live!
But I gave more than I was allowed to give
Now, a vagabond in my old space
with my older gaze upon keeping a trace
We all work together until it is done, to save our human race
I'm not a lone student of this life here
We are EVERYWHERE in time, far and near!
Resetting the golden groove
So our needle never moves............
again.

Original Human

2011-12-23T14:42:00.000-08:00

The superior human
wants to rule the crowd
the superior human
is ridiculously proud
the superior human
seeks to rule us all
but the superior human
is going fall
Original human
will never crawl
original human
was born to brawl
and we like our freedom
and yes,we'll make war
The superior human
will be no more-

Don't expect me to understand
because after all, I'm a man
This pretty new order that you want to get
it's gonna be hard, because to us your a threat
You want to break down the borders
destroy the human seed, we cannot let you
and we WILL NOT forget
When you rose up to devour our kind
and attached your controllers into our mind
The sickness and failure , the victims that died
for the wicked impaler and the animal bride.
Intellectual zombies, who raised up a force
to gather and dispose of all who block the course
But we are so unpredictable, and we assemilate.
when you think that it's over, we'll set you straight
I saw it all before, but my time was too late.

We have got to do it right this time

2011-12-10T18:56:00.000-08:00

I travel through time to be with you again, and no one in the parallel world will even know where i've been .
I've tried to talk to you , but you don't know its me.
Because of the paradox is all that you see.
But when we swim through the stringy dimensions
We have to be careful with wreckless intentions
This endless quantum searching is mutating my soul
We never know how far were allowed to go ,
twisting the strings until they're worn out
Could fuck some shit up without a doubt
I can't give it up, I'm doing as I was told
But I want to see you again, before it's time to fold
Where ever I appear, I am near
I cannot tell the year
And when I arrive, I check the atmosphere
and the string is never the same
except for your name.
