the month of May has brought Nashville

disastrous weather, massive flooding.

the city is basically shut down.

so many roads, houses, buildings under water.

luckily my house is up high and we are safe.

i thought being stuck inside would help

me study for finals. still so distracted.

a little update:

since March I've visited home [baltimore].

also went to cleveland, tn and atlanta.

seen great friends and good music.

including two of my favorite bands:

the middle east. beach house.

now i have finals next week.

then the glorious summer begins!

sometimes i still wake up and ask myself

'what the hell am i doing with my life?'

then other morning I'm content

and in love with life.

last week I went to Kansas City/ Lawrence.

just to hang out with some beautiful people.

left wednesday morning accompanied by my friend Ric.

we arrived in KC just in time to pick up my aussie mate, SARAH!

so surreal hanging out with her in America.

such an encouraged just being in her presence for 2 days.

we hung out at coffee shops, went to IHOP to see another one

of our YWAM DTS mates, Andy, and hung out with Alex and Kevin who

graciously let us crash at their house.

when Sarah left we headed to Lawrence to hang out with

the kansas crew. so refreshing to see them all.

good times crashing a 21st bday party.

watching a movie.

dumpster divin pizzas.

being silly goofs.

Saturday we had brekkie in Lawrence all together.

then headed to KC to hang out more.

lots of snow.

Sunday, went to Noffy and Alex's church and then went out

for brekkie one last time then we all parted ways.

great weekend.

success.

other updates:

1. I got a job at a doggie daycare.

it has its ups and downs.

enjoying it for the most part.

PTL for a job.

2. switching my major back to geography.

discovered i enjoy learning that more then media.

doesn't mean im going to abandon my heart for media,

maybe i'll do a ywam media school after college.

i'd prefer to learn it in that environment.

january 15, 2009, I adventured to a new county, australia.

january 15, 2010, I adventured to a new city, nashville.

I've been trying to move to nashville for the past 2 years.

every year when we'd visit my father's family here,

I always felt drawn to it.

Finally it has all worked out!

And it would be foolish of me to not give all the credit

to the Lord. He has provided for me in every way

to be here:

in-state school tuition at Nashville State CC

my parents approval

an amazing church community

living in East Nashville

with the greatest roomates one could ask for:

the Pritchards and Wizard!

Hannah's amazing cooking skills :)

God's been testing me a lot to trust Him fully,

it is something I always struggle with.

It's hard for me to trust something/one I can't see,

which makes sense because I'm a very visual person.

yet I am also extremely kinesthetic.

I tend to feel things a lot more than others.

and very quick to sense how others are feeling.

which can be an advantage and a burden.

The thing is God knows how He made me

a trillions times better than I know myself.

He knows my struggles and failures.

And for some reason He is still faithful to me,

even when I ignore Him

for boys or money or worldly possessions,

which sadly is more times then not.

I want to be content in feeling the Lord's presence

where ever I am. in whatever I am doing.

and reflect that peace and love to those around me.

Well now I'm trusting a job will come

when He wants me to have one.

Every time I get a job I tend to get "too busy"

so maybe it's a wake up call and good thing.

keep the main thing the main thing.

i have tears in my eyes. so many memories.
i'm so excited to see the final product.

joanna came to Papua New Guinea with my outreach team (ywam)
and i got to help her with photos and video-ing.
some of my shots are in it!
and i'm in it a few times :)

me and good friends, that i miss heaps

I am so happy I am not going to school this

semester (again!) and getting to travel more.

If I allow Him to, I think God has heaps to show me this season.

A lot of people are concerned about me dropping

out of school and moving away (thinking I'm running from something).

Really I'm running towards it.

Something in me feels it's time and it's right.

I've prayed a lot about it plus gotten cool confirmation

If things don't work out and I fall flat on my face

then at least I know I tried.

I love being on a journey of finding who I am as an individual

and where I belong in this world. I have been asking this question

heaps this year, "Where is my community?"

true community. alive community. active community.

Nashville has been on my heart for years now.

And honestly, I don't know why.

Heaps will have to line up this autumn for me to move there in January,

but if God truly wants me there then it will work out.

And if not then I pray new doors will open.

Someday, I hope I can go back to Australia or Papua New Guinea.

Even Europe for a bit would be delightful too.

this year has been an adventure.

probably the best year of my life.

I've been able to live in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Two places very close on my heart.

God has come alive to me more than ever.

I've been able to learn a lot about myself,

and I'm still on that journey and growing spiritually.

It's a beautiful process.

I have been able to travel a bit since being in USA,

went to Cornerstone, The Outer Banks, Nashville,

Ft. Worth, and Kansas (where I had a wonderful birthday, 20!)

Being home has been delightful yet difficult at time.

My mindset has changed quite a bit and many don't understand.

I haven't been able to find a community here in Baltimore,

so in October I'll be moving to McPherson, KS for 3 months to

house sit for some incredible friends,

and be able to fellowship with some good friends.

Hopefully, next spring I'll be able to finally move to Nashville,

and pursue an AA degree in Multimedia to prepare me

to go back into foreign missions, which is where I long to be.

I will be looking for housing this Autumn/winter so if you know

anyone looking for a roomie in Nashville for 2010, let me know!

and working at a grocery store.

plus coaching soccer with Jocelyn

and soon playing lacrosse for college.

Also trying to get money for YWAM- Reef to Outback in Australia.

Sorry it has taken so long to get this Chicago blog up.

been a little busy lately.

Thursday night (02.21.08)

Mary and Adam picked me up from

the airport then we went to get some Chicago pizza!

so yummmmmy.

Then we decided to explorer downtown Chicago.

Lost our car which made it all the more fun :)

plus the city was EMPTY.

and I think we may have gotten

a sleeping parking lot attendant fired.

oops.

Friday was chill. We went to an awesome candy shop.

and played lots of Wii. I'm a champ at Wii bowling ;)

Saturday was Kelli's wedding! so beautiful.

Afterwards a bunch of us chilled at Becky's house.

goood times :) (I suck at Scene it!)

Sunday, we adventured back downtown.

We saw Union Station, Sears Tower!, Millennium Park,

Apple Store, and simply walked along Michigan Ave.

Monday (02.25.08), woke up super early and

headed back to the airport.

lots happening.

spring semester has been going to well.

all good teachers and classes (thank God!)

I joined the lacrosse team at school.

it has been fun and hard work.

I am way out of shape!

Chicago trip is getting closer! ahhh.

Feb. 21-25 (and I just miss Sacha at the Atlanta airport! :(

2008! busy busy!

I am halfway through my night winter course, CADD 101.
I have enjoyed it thus far. Spring semester starts Jan 28th.

I booked my flight to Chicago (which will take me to
Atlanta for a few hours)! Feb 21-25.
sooooo excited to see some lovely lovely people and celebrate!

also, just signed up for new attitude.
Memorial weekend in Kentucky with some more lovely people.

This is what I looked like today.
strange? yes.
but this morning, I woke up with pink eye AGAIN!
third time within the last 6 months.
I am cursed.
I had to where a pirate eye patch and sunglasses
because when you have pink eye your eye is VERY
sensitive to light. so anything helps.

the reason I have it is my own stupid fault because
I kept using my contacts from the last time I had pink eye
which was November 2nd. dumb, I know.

I deserve to be blind.

I am with him 3 days a week.

I am officially done my first semester of comm. college.
Surprisingly, it was really easy. Mainly because I took
4 easy classes. Next semester should be a little more challenging.

yesterday I got a call from my friend Mary,
who told be some heartbreaking news.
Reed Corbin, Subseven's old bassist, passed away
from a heart attack at age 33.

Years ago, I did have the priviledge of meeting Reed.
He was so kind and loving. Very easy to talk to.
I didn't know him well, but I looked up to him a lot.
His passion to serve the Lord was inspiring.

My heart hurts for his family and friends right now, especially
for the subseven guys and Savannah, his wife.
But we know though, Reed is rejoicing
before his beloved Lord right now.
