Snowy Night

Keeping busy in the house:

Iona is one month old!

2014-01-02T21:00:00.001-05:00

So far the Spartans are undefeated in her lifetime, Isaac thinks his sister is really cute, and mommy doesn't appear ready to kill anyone.

Still never sleeping, but it's worth being awake for:

We celebrated today with Iona's first bath, and first bath-related histrionics:

Sunday Bowling

2013-12-08T13:10:00.001-05:00

In an effort to divide and conquer, I took Isaac bowling this afternoon, while Shannon and Iona chilled at the crib. (These are jokes!)

Watching toddlers emote is truly something. There is still no filter, and no expectations to drive success other than did at least one pin go down.

Behold the thrill of victory--

And the agony of defeat--

Lying To Your Child About Santa Rules!

2013-10-25T20:58:00.001-04:00

At 8:05, a tremendously pregnant Shannon asked that I handle bed time. At 8:15, a tremendously smart little boy decided it was time to leave a note for Santa. This, of course, was bullsh%!, as Isaac cannot read or write.

At 8:16, a tremendously shameless dad (me) lied to my child about Santa: "Santa doesn't read notes from boys who stay up past bed time..."

At 8:17, a tremendously tremendous boy was asleep.

Policeman Ticket

2012-12-14T14:33:00.002-05:00

Seriously neglecting the blog these days. But this one is worthy of a post.

Isaac and I had the opportunity to speak with some of Highland Park's finest last week. For reasons I won't go into here, I was driving to work with expired license plate tags. I finally got around to paying the fine today. $140. Blargh. But Isaac made it better by suggesting we make an airplane out of the "policeman ticket."

So much cheap entertainment at the Barnes and Noble

2012-10-13T13:22:00.001-04:00

I am sitting in the Troy Barnes and Noble nursing a nasty cold. Shannon is shopping for shoes. Isaac has mercifully been self-contained for 30 minutes at the train table.

We have so far been running a play by play commentary. Spencer the Train has taken a job taking "a lot" of freight cars. Rainy Saturday y'all.
