I converted the photo to b&w on my iPhone for her. They printed great at 11×14. We did a special gift idea that I will share in another post soon with final photos of what she ended up doing.

Placing the package under his arm Allen stepped down from the delivery truck and began walking up the driveway. After about 10 steps he looked back at Duke with an uneasy feeling. Duke motioned with his hand as if to tell him to hurry up and yelled, “And tie your shoe laces before you trip and fall kid!” Allen laughed as he rounded the front corner of the house on his way to the back yard.

The house looked normal enough until Allen tried to glance through the windows. As he passed each window he noticed all of them had blinds that were pulled down. With no chance of seeing into the house Allen kept walking. He took one more uneasy look behind him. The truck was now hidden from view by the corner of the house. Hearing the truck’s engine idling gave him little comfort.

Reluctantly he lifted the latch on the rusted black iron gate and stepped into the back yard. As the gate shut behind him he stopped dead in his tracks. Allen lifted the back of his free hand to his nose. Something smelled awful. He was about to turn around and leave when he realized how much he needed this job. If his girlfriend found out that he was fired again it might be the end of their already rocky relationship.

Gathering his courage, Allen stepped up onto the small deck in the back yard. He approached the double doors at the back of the house. Each step on the deck let out a moan as if it was announcement his arrival. He was about to put the package down as Duke instructed but something caught his eye. The back door was open about 3 inches. Allen’s curiosity caught the better of him as he squinted to try and peer into the house. It was pitch back. He leaned forward a few more inches to peer in. Inside something moved past the door.

The door slammed shut with a loud thump. Allen dropped the packed as he jumped back startled. He whirled around to run off the deck but stepped on this untied shoelace. Allen fell flat on this face. This head slammed onto the deck with such force his glasses flew across the deck. He turned towards the door as his vision started to fade. Through a blurry haze Allen could barely make out the door opening before everything went black.

The last sound Allen heard was that of Duke’s truck grinding into gear and accelerating.

Shanon who runs a bike shop in China and hosts the goldsprints event sent me these. When I told her I wear size 14 she said no one has that big of feet so I had her send a size 9 for my son. Here are a few photos. Nice set of kicks!
