Now in its 32nd year, the Roxboro, NC Personality Festival, Person County’s single largest event, features two days of mechanical rides, huge inflatables, a variety of great food vendors, arts & crafts booths on the streets of Uptown Roxboro! There’s a street dance, a beverage garden, and a huge variety of live music. There’s truly something for everyone!

Hutch Construction will be there on Saturday, June 23rd, with a full-sized sunroom to check out. Come on by and say hello!

2012 Washington Summer Festival

With PERFECT weather expected, there’s no better place to be this weekend (June 8th-9th) than the 29th annual Washington Summer Festival on the waterfront in Washington, NC. Friday night (5pm-10pm) will feature great food, arts & crafts, rides & games for kids of all ages, and the Craig Wollard Band! Saturday (9am-10pm) has more food, arts & crafts, amusements, a Kids Zone (9am-3pm), a fishing tournament, and live music at night from the Victor Hudson Band and Jupiter Jones!

Come take a look at our beautiful, recently renovated, indoor showroom this Friday, May 11th from 9am-5pm and Saturday, May 12th from 10am-7pm. We’ll feed you lunch while you check out our wonderful sunrooms. There will be inflatables for the kids to jump on, a special Mother’s Day drawing, and great door prizes – a fire pit, digital picture frame, and beautiful door wreath!

Smithfield Ham & Yam Festival

Now in its 28th year, the Smithfield Ham & Yam Festival will host free concerts at 8:30pm on Friday, May 4th and Saturday, May 5th. Legendary southern rock band, Molly Hatchet, will take the stage on Friday and The Lost Trailers will perform on Saturday. Craft vendors will take to the streets on Saturday, May 5th, along with entertainment on two stages and fun activities for the entire family. Not to mention all the ham & yams you can eat!!!

NC Pickle Festival

If you’re looking for some fun the whole family can enjoy this weekend, look no further than the 26th Annual NC Pickle Festival, in Mount Olive, on April 28th. The festival is brought to you by the Mount Olive Chamber of Commerce and Mt. Olive Pickles. Other than FREE pickles, there is a lot to take in: Music on two stages featuring the CC Ryder Band, The Boys of Carolina Bluegrass Band, USAF Rhythm in Blue Jazz Ensemble, and Band of Oz; carnival rides, camel rides and pony rides; a classic car show and much, much more. This show is jam-packed with cool jewelery, make-up tips, fashion shows, cooking classes, and Hutch Construction! We’re looking forward to this first ever Colonial American Home & Garden Show sponsored by the DAR Moseley-Bright Chapter. Admission is free to the public and we’ll be there all weekend with 25 other vendors offering remodeling ideas, landscaping inspiration and various home and garden products and services.

The Home & Garden Show will be held at Vernon Park Mall in Kinston, NC and is open to the public March 30th through April 1st. Show hours are Friday: 6pm to 9pm, Saturday: 10am to 9pm and Sunday: 1pm to 4pm.

Every year around this time our phones start to ring and we begin the process of converting porches to sunrooms all over the Raleigh area. In the business, we call this a “fill”. Meaning, we are “filling in” the exising open space in your screen room with energy efficient windows that keep the room light and bright while eliminating the elements like pollen, rain & cool temperatures.

Maybe it stems from a desire to escape the pollen or avoid the humidity that’s on the horizon that sparks this trend every year. Whatever the reason, it’s one of the most popular things we do as a licensed contractor and sunroom company here in NC. Our customers know the value of more functional space…We hear from customers who have converted porches to dining rooms, family rooms, living rooms, and solariums…Even guest rooms!
