The Hyde Away Inn and Restaurant is a farmstead, circa 1824, located in the Mad River Valley in the heart of Vermont’s Green Mountains.

Nestled between the quaint, historic villages of Waitsfield and Warren, the inn opened New Year’s Day, 1949 as the Ulla Lodge — a comfortable haven with friendly people, good food and a casual tavern where you can relax with friends before turning in for the night in one of our cozy rooms.

The Inn consists of nine rooms for lodging (some pet friendly), a full service restaurant and tavern — all of which are open daily, year round. A popular spot for locals and tourists alike, The Hyde Away is one of the few establishments in the Valley that offers dining, drinking and lodging under one roof. Year ’round, the tavern and restaurant attract a regular crowd of locals and visitors who return year after year for the comfortable, friendly atmosphere, friendly staff, affordable pricing, and good food.

In the winter season, the Tavern is a popular après ski and night spot skiers — an “authentic ski bar,” according to SKI Magazine. In the summer and fall, it is a gathering spot for wedding parties, bicyclers and hikers — in addition our local crowd.

The friendly staff at the Hyde Away is one of its greatest assets. Our employees work hard to ensure that guests — local patrons and tourists alike — have an enjoyable experience. Some employees have been at the Hyde Away for nearly 20 years.
