This is the third track to be released from the Mikey J X Kano collaboration series and boy is it a mad one. Featuring Wiley, Wretch 32 and Scorcher, it definitely embodies the essence of what should be being made. I'm definitely not a fan of anything released by Kano after 2006/07 - but this has definitely made me pay attention. I just hope it's not another K.A re-invention back to a rawer sound only to end up using the underground and hop back on some mainstream hype - a sort of snakes and ladders situation. However that aside, it's beautiful to see all five talents grouping together and putting something out there that's strong with great visuals. Make sure to check out the Maxsta X Kano Alien track as well!

Faze Miyake is definitely at the front of the pack of producers re-enforcing that firm code of dark militant war music, controlled by a simple but powerful force of bass. With his recent remix for Magnetic Man’s Anthemic (featuring P Money) and his Take Off instrumental – which was recently announced as the official anthem to the legendary Lord Of The Mics 3 – his name has firmly been put on the map. It’s exciting to see a young producer gain attention for their raw talent.

A humble yet quiet character sits in front of his simple homemade set-up, which makes me wonder just where all this crazy musical energy comes from? “I drink a lot of energy drinks when I’m making music. It kind of gives me energy to get stuff done.” With a keenness to work with some of the scene’s pioneers on his hit-list – Skepta, Wiley, and a bunch of gripping new vocal collaborations to be announced – it’s just another 360 degree fly-kick in the mouth to the yearly ‘grime is dead’ bellowers.

Earlier this year i-D online caught-up with a fresh-faced young chap going by the name of Wretch 32, who was eager to make his mark on the mainstream just like he did with the underground.

Within a few months Wretch put his foot to the pedal and shot full steam ahead, leading the charts with his own brand of authentic music. His first official single ‘Traktor’ took him straight into the top five, and his ‘Unorthodox’ collaboration proved he wasn’t just a flash in the pan. As the pace quickened, with his third single ‘Don’t Go’ – a love letter to his one and only, music – he showed the world how gifted he really is, bagging his first number one. The Tottenham born artist’s smooth, relaxed approach has attracted many new fans but his venom lies in his word play – which has seen him sustain as well as gain vigorous support from the two united scenes that birthed him; UK hip-hop and grime. His new album Black and White features a host of raw homegrown musical magic including Daley and Etta Bond as well as some better known talent such as Ed Sheeran and Chipmunk, all up in the mix. The time has finally arrived to release the last Volume Control, which I started to try and take online freestyles to a new dimension. Throughout the series have seen a range of exciting talent through many spectrums of the finest UK underground sounds. We now, however, have reached the finale and it certainly ends with a bang, in the form of flow goddess, Lady Leshurr. The winning production was Ipswich's Neon Beats who delivered a massive hard hitting Attack, which when teamed up with Leshurr's fire could only be explained with its title 'Too Much'.

The openly gay poet, who has traveled across Europe and won notable awards for his work, takes on the role in an hour-long documentary to discover whether the world of hip hop is honestly ready to accept homosexuality. Thank you to Georgia Anderson for getting me involved in this project. I was asked some simple yet really tricky questions which I tried to answer as honestly as possible. Taking part really brought up some strong as well as fair opinions that made me definitely think about the issue in a different light. Enough about that though you'll hear what I have to say on there, so TUNE IN!

If you're out of the loop or just stay away from twitter because you have a life, then you've missed out on the hype of the year - Lord Of The Mics 3. With the last 2 delivering us some of the best clashes so far - Wiley Vs Kano - Crazy Titch Vs Bruza - Devilman Vs Skepta, this series is about to take the gas meter up a notch. Embracing the great advantages of the internet they've created pre-hype sessions where those involved will be interviewed, confirm who they want to clash and even lay some lyrics down. For me personally the only one so far that has literally got me waking up at 3am, to see if they've uploaded it to youtube/ try to bribe Cameraman Sketch with a mars bar to just see the hype sessions - No Lay Vs OG Niki.

Yeah I'm white but don't watch that.
