The next generation of transmitters from Futaba will soon be in our hands! The Futaba 4PX is packed with features with a lightning fast response from the T-FHSS system which is 30% faster than it's predecessor the 4PKSR and is 15grams lighter. Totally redesigned and it comes equipped with telemetry voice output which can be turned on and off for races that does not allow such. Expected release is 3rd quarter of 2014 (August).

I think these are the top two questions that every newbie in the hobby is asking...so I've posted this for you to read.

Q: How much is a starter kit?

A: Depends really on what you want...do you wanna go big or do you want to start from the ground up?
A basic kit (entry level Tamiya TT-01) I think this is the bottom on the list of decent kits. I don't mean to put the TT-01 down what I mean is it is the basic of them all and the cheapest and yet still competetive when it comes to drifting. A basic kit would do P5,000 worth of damage to your wallet. A mid range kit would do P10,000 and an advanced kit would go from P15,000 up to P40,000 and we're not even touching the electronics yet.

Q: What else do you need other than the starter kit?

A: You'd be needing the following electronics

1. ESC - Electronic Speed Controller (Sensored / Un-sensored)
2. Steering Servo (analog / digital / brushless / etc...)
3. Motor (brushed / brushless) (Tamiya usually has a motor included in their kit)
4. Transmitter (Controller) and Receiver
5. Battery (NiCd / NiMh / LiPo / Life) (Li-poly is commonly used for drifting)
6. Drift Tires
7. Battery Charger

Rule of Thumb : Quality comes at a cost.

If your are travelling to Singapore and are looking for parts, kits, bags or anything related to RC drifting, I highly recommend for you to stop by this store in Crawford Lane. Great selection of products, good prices and more importantly friendly people. It's location is a little hard to find but it's really well worth the trip. If you have the chance to bring a kit with you they have a drift track outside just beside the store.

This is a must have in your spare parts box for tuning your suspension and steering and a lot of other things that uses spacers rather than the conventional spacer which you'd have to find a longer screw to go with it. Just wish they had this as a set of like 4 pairs for each size...well you can always buy 4 packs of it anyway. I just think that it will be cheaper if you buy it in a single larger pack.

Draft Technical Rules & Regulations:

1. All participants are only permitted to use 1/10 scale electric RC cars with Counter-steer setup (rear overdrive) and 4wd (NON cs) The chassis can be either belt-driven or shaft-driven.
2.With counter-steer setup, any gear ratios are permitted.
3. Closed tires: AUTODRIFT PRO GRIP
4. Any types of ESCs are allowed.
5. All battery brands and capacity of Li-Po (2 cells), Ni-MH and Ni-Cd (6 cells, 7.2V) are allowed.
6. All cars must observe minimum ride height of 5mm ground clearance.

Regulations:
1. Qualifications
* Open Chassis – Any Brand
* Only 1:10 scale chassis allowed and must be electric powered
* Only ONE chassis allowed to be used throughout the race
* There will be +1 point advantage for CS vs non CS during twin drift battle
* Clipping point STEERING CORRECTION will be deducted
* Team build consist of 3 or 4 drifters (I suggest for big RA groups to evenly distribute your PROs for a better team status)
* Team example ( A06 team A, A06 team B, RCDC team A, B, C)
* Based on total score from qualifying rounds, top 2 teams will battle it out for the best team position.
* Individuals who don’t have teams will be group accordingly.

2. Electronics
a. Participants are advised to carry 2 or more crystals if using AM/FM radio set
b. Participants are advised not to switch on their radios if not in use throughout the race

3. Tires Allowed
a. PRO GRIP TIRES (will be given upon payment of registration fee)

4. Batteries Allowed
a. Ni-Cd / Ni-Mh / Lipo can be used
b. No capacity restriction
c. Each battery pack not more than 7.4V

5. Motor Limit
a. Brush and Brushless System allowed

Active Hobby FR TA05/TA06 Conversion Kit

The Active Hobby FR Conversion Kit for Tamiya's TA05/TA06 has a layout similar to Yokomo's DIB chassis except that this has the motor up front.and the battery is much more centered vertically and horizontally. It has a low center of gravity for ideal weight distribution and has a 50 degree steering angle (optional driveshaft upgrade AC387). Quick Setup
QuickSetUp allows for a shortcut to quickly setup your vehicle. These are the basic configurations that are usually used to setup your vehicle and accessed the most.

Direct Button
The four buttons under the LCD panel are the Direct Buttons. When one of the buttons are pressed, the assigned function will appear in the menu for quick reference and adjustment.

All EX-1 KIY systems will have a serial number for each region that it is sold in. This will be used to know where the system was purchased. So if you need any service the Tx will have to be sent back to the region from where it was originally purchased.
