There is a huge happenin' pool party in Buckhead this Saturday (yes, tomorrow!) to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! How can you turn down partying for a cause!?! In fact, I can't say it much better then the organizers:

"Your healthy livers have been called upon to embark on a grand adventure to save lives! That’s right, your ability to enjoy life to the fullest is now being beckoned to participate in a very bold event….A POOL PARTY!!!! But this is not just your average pool party. It is a pool party to save lives."
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the largest nonprofit organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and well as patient services. These blood cancers include leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma. Myeloma is short for Multiple Myeloma, a rare and incurable cancer that has hit close to home with many of my friends and family and have raised money for another organization to advance research.

So back to the easy, super-rad way you can support this cause while having a bad-ass time! There will be kegs, alcohol, food, tunes, games, and gorgeous people! You get all this for just a $20 donation. And if you bring extra moolah, there will be beer pong and corn hole tourneys and a raffle for a 50/50 split pot!

Here are the dets:
Saturday, August 13, 2011
2:00pm - 7:00pm
The Pool at The Cove, Buckhead
4266 Roswell Rd L4
Atlanta, GA 30342
Facebook Invite

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://iambloggingforgood.blogspot.com/2011/08/atlanta-pool-party-for-cause-thats-what.html' title='Atlanta Pool Party For a Cause! Just when you want to hate them for taking over the eWorld, you find that you adore their new browser, Google Chrome. And then yesterday, they put the cherry on top by adding an extension that allows you to raise money for five amazing nonprofits just by searching the internet! I think they added a few gold flakes to this love sundae by making it soooo easy to join the cause!

That's right, download the FREE Google Chrome with Chrome for a Cause browser here (if you already downloaded Chrome, the link will let you download the extension, as long as you are actually using Google Chrome). Once it is installed, with every new tab (where you can type in any website -- and let me tell you, tabs are the best thing ever invented if you want to keep a site open and review other sites!) you contribute to one of five causes! How do you open tabs? By clicking on that "+" (plus) next to the tab at the top left of the browser:

Each tab you open will raise money for charity! BUT HURRY! It's only until Sunday, December 19, 2010!!! That's only 3 days away!

There is also a little icon next to the address bar that tells you how many tabs you have opened:

If you click on that icon, it also allows you easy (social media) ways to share with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, Orkut and Google Buzz (of course):

A daily maximum number of tabs you can click for a cause is currently 250 tabs per day. You are also limited to accruing one tab per second towards the daily maximum. At the end of each day, you get to choose which charity to support:

The Nature Conservancy - working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people

charity: water - bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations

Doctors Without Borders I started out with a "diet" blog back in October of 2008, hosted on my own site, and well... it got annihilated! I am not perfect, and I am not always good, but what I can do is promote the things that I find to be for the greater good. That's what this blog is all about.
