Oblation Run 2011

The annual UP Oblation Run, held December 16 in 2011, had 30 full pledge members of the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) fraternity running in their naked holding placards with messages about protecting Philippine rivers. The 2011 run is to support the Sagip Ilog Pilipinas Movement.

Oblation run is a yearly APO activity held every December 16, wherein showcases APO fraternity members roaming running nude and naked in University of the Philippines campuses...

This activity was started in the year 1977 ( The First Ever APO Oblation Run ). When an APO member first ran naked in the A.S. lobby to promote a play the fraternity was sponsoring called "Hubad na Bayani," or "Naked Heroes", Rolly Abad the said member was killed in a rumble few months later. In commemoration with this, the run was held yearly with noble themes every year... It was said that Oblation run was just for fun or just an expression of insanity but in a closer look inside it you'll able to learn that it's not just an ordinary run, but its an expression of protest againts the system.

The ceremory starts with the assembling at the APO tambayan, where the runners will give them the traditional fraternity salute, in this process also do's and don't's were instructed to the runners... and presto... to the run.

After the Oblation Run at Palma Hall, we went to Bonsai Garden for APO fellowship hosted by Eta Chapter. The mask which the runners used in the Oblation Run was auctioned at the party.

Since it was Alpha Phi Omega's 86 year anniversary, we went to Marikina city to celebrate with my brothers and sisters. The event was hosted by APO Marikina Alumni Association.

I went to Animal Bite Center para sa initial injections ko. Dapat sa RITM ako pupunta pero nabalitaan ko sa isang nurse sa RITM na short silang ERIG vaccines. So I opted sa clinic nalang kahit mas mahal. Nag research ako sa internet pero wala akong nakitang info kung magkano ba ang magagastos dito. So I decided na iblog ko ang nangyari at kung magkano ang nagastos.

Binigyan ako ng tatlong shot. Anti Rabies, ERIG at anti Tetanus. May toxoid at oral meds pa pero hindi ko na inintindi yung iba bukod sa reseta.

Ang bayad ay depende sa weight mo. Malas malas lang dahil from 52 kilos, eh naging 65 na pala ako. Ang laki na ng na gain kong weight kakatrabaho sa bahay ng nakaupo. I need 13cc ng vaccines na hindi ko na rin naitanong kung ano.

It cost me 6,615 pesos para sa DAY 0. Then after nun kailangan ko pang bumalik sa Day 3,7, and 30. At para sa mga session na yun, I have to pay 480 pesos.

May skin test din pag ERIG ang ituturok sayo. Iyon na yata ang pinaka painful na injections na naranasan ko. As in OUCH!!! parang muriatic ang sinaksak sakin. Lumobo ang balat ko na parang chicharon. Sa totoo lang namura ko yung nurse na nag inject sakin dahil nga ang sakit sakit. Naginit ulo ko hehehe.. then immediately nag sorry ako, sabi nya okay lang hindi daw ako ang first time hehe.. Sana lang ininform nya rin ako na masakit ang skin test. abah at apat na beses ginawa. Tig dalawa sa mga braso ko.

Sabi ko katiting lang na cc yung nilagay pero lintek sa sakit. I asked the nurse if yun din ba ang iienject sakin. Sabi nya, yung mismong mga vaccines di na masakit. Masakit lang daw talaga ang skin test. Di man lang nya sinabing masakit bago nya ininject sakin hehe...

Then after 30 minutes negative ako sa allergy at pinagpatuloy na ang totoong injections. Binigyan ako sa magkabilaan pige at isa sa kamay kung saan nandun ang sugat. Ayun masakit pero carry naman. mabigat lang sa pakiramdam. Ngayon ay para akong nanuno dahil manas ang isa kong kamay. Hindi pantay ang mga kamay ko hehe..

Ang isa pang kinadismaya ko, ang daming bawal kainin at inumin for 2 weeks!!!! Lahat halos ng kinakain ko araw araw bawal na muna. Buti ang kape hindi. Hayst..........

Hayup talaga na pusa.. yun ang naisip ko nung napagastos at yung sakripisyo ko dahil sa injections. Pero okay lang. At least ngayon makakatulog na ako ng maayos at walang pangamba :))

Rabies; A Deadly Viral Disease

Ito ang pinakakatakutan kong sakit, lalo noong napanood ko yung documentary about Rabies sa GMA7 noon. umatak sa isipan ko ang scene na kung saan nagwawala ang mga tinamaan ng virus, I don't know paano nakalusot sa MTRCB ang ganung disturbing na docu pero napaka informative nya. Since then, nagka phobia ako sa Rabies.

Nakagat ako ng puppy namin last 3 weeks ago. Di naman sinasadya dahil nakikipag harutan ako. Sumabit ang pangil nya sa kamay ko. May bleeding pero di naman ganun kalaki. So as advise, binantayan ko for 14 days. Matatapos na ang 14 days ng magumpisang manamlay ang puppy namin. Di sya kumakain, nagbago ang behavior, at sobrang pumayat within 3 days na hindi sya kumakain. Those are the first signs of rabies among animals. Natakot ako syempre, kitang kita na dehydrated na ang puppy namin. Sobrang nag alala ako hindi lang para sa akin pero syempre para dun sa tuta. I notice hindi sya naman naglalaway, in fact, dehydrated nga, at sobrang lamig ng tenga. I ask my mom na dalhin namin sa vet pero pinainom muna namin ng hydrite, pinilit pa namin uminom. Sabi ko pag kinabukasan di pa sya magaling dadalhin ko na sya sa vet. Pero ang galing!! Kinabukasan, sinalubong nya ako ng kakawag kawag ang buntot nya. Binigyan ko ng dog food at kinain nya naman. So safe kami ng rabies.

The next bite naman ay galing sa kitten ng pusang gala na laging nasa kusina namin. Nakakabwisit lang kasi apat na kuting yun na patakbo takbo sa kusina. Ang baho pa ng poop nila. Sa inis ko dinampot ko yung isa at ikukulong ko sana sa cage at ililigaw pero kinagat ako sa kamay. Another bite na naman sa kamay. So binantayan ko ulit. ang problema, yung kumagat sakin at may kakambal ng dalawa pa. So tatlo silang identical na kuting, tapos yung isa itim. Sa loob loob ko, bakit ba hindi nalang yung itim ang kumagat para alam ko kung sino ang babantayan.

Matapos ang two weeks na taning ko, namatay yung isa. I am not sure if rabies pero nanghina sya talaga at di na makalad. Signs of rabies sabi ko. Winisikan ko ng tubig sa mukha yung kuting, natakot yung kuting, pero naisip ko na takot nga pala sa tubig ang pusa. So paano ko pa mapapatunayan? Wala ayun namatay sya. Sumunod na mga araw yung isa namang kakambal nya. So sabi ko di ko na isusugal ang buhay ko, sa 2 ang namatay, eh what if yung isa palang nakakagat sakin ang namatay at may rabies. AYun sumugod na ako sa Animal Bite Center. Badtrip. :((

Kung may lunas ang rabies hindi ko ito katatakutan. Kaso WALA na once it manifest the symptoms, and from there aabangan ka nalang na mamatay sa RITM or San Lazaro habang hirap na hirap ka sa kalagayan mo. Nakakatakot. I can't imagine the scene. :(

An OPEN LETTER to Pres. Noynoy

Dear Mr. President Noynoy Aquino,

Isang taon po ang nakalipas, kamusta na po ang Pilipinas? Kamusta na po ang kalagayan ng mga Pilipino? Kamusta na po ang inyong lovelife? Kamusta na rin po ang mga tropa sa Gabinete?

Isang taon. Maari nyo pong sabihin na ito ay maiksing panahon palang naman. Hindi ko naman po ine expect ang turn around ng inyong administrasyon ng ganto kabilis pero ano po ba ang plano nyo sa ating bansa? Ano na po ang plano nyo sa mga kababayan natin sa Cotabato? ano na po ang plano nyo sa ekonomiya ng Pilipinas.

Ako po ay isang unemployed. Unemployed sa Pilipinas dahil sa konti ng trabahong inyong makikita. Ako po ay pinapasweldo ng taga ibang bansa upang magbigay ng serbisyo sa kanila habang andito at nakaupo sa loob ng aking kwarto. Doble po ang sweldo ko sa minimum wage na meron tayo dito. Hindi po ako tax payer at pwede nyo pong sabihing makapal ang mukha kong magtanong sa mga ginagawa nyo, dahil sino ba naman ako, isa akong unemployed (sa kumpanyang nasa Pinas).

Maari nyo ding sabihin ang tigas ng mukha ko dahil hindi ko naman po kayo binoto. Actually, hindi po ako bumoto dahil ako ay nasa ibang bansa sa panahon ng eleksyon dahil wala nga pong trabaho sa ating bansa. Pero kung ako ay boboto, pasensya na po pero kay Gordon ako.

Kamusta na po ang mga water hyacinth na nasa Rio Grande ng Mindanao? Minana nyo rin po ba iyon sa nakaraang admistrasyon? Kamusta na po ang inyong Gabinete? Maayos naman po ba ang buhay ng mga nakapwesto sa mga departamento? Kamusta po ang mga kaibigan nyo doon?

Mahal naming Pangulo, ako po ay lubos na nagagalak dahil isa kayong matapat at mabait na pangulo at kaibigan. Ngunit hindi po ito sapat. Asan po ang aksyon, asan po ang malinaw na linyang tatahakin ng ating bansa.

Isa lang po ang hinihinling ko. Tigilan na po ang paninisi. Tigilan na po ang kasasabi ng "Etopo ang minana namin sa nakaraang admistrasyon". Hindi po iyan ang gustong marinig ng mga Pilipino.

Kung ako po ang tatanungin. Mas okay ang performance ni Marcos at Gloria. Sabihin na nating kurakot nga, pero doble ang sipag nila. May malinaw na pagdedesisyon. Makikita mo si Gloria, binubungangaan sa harap ng media ang mga tauhan nya. Si Marcos naman, pinapapatay ang mga kumukontra sa kanya. Pero makikita mong may fly over, may mga kalsadang napaka ganda sa panahon ni Marcos, makikita mo (pero di ramdam) na umangat tayo from 3rd world country to 2nd world country sa nakaraang admistrasyon.

Hindi ko po sinasabi na sila ay modelong mga pangulo. Hindi ko po hangad ang maging ganun kayo. Ang nais kong iparating ay TAPANGAN nyo po ang pagiging Pangulo. Yung tatlong Tao na nasa Gabinete nyo, bakit hindi nyo po bangitin? Bakit hindi nyo po pagalitan ng todo, bakit hindi nyo po sibakin. Minsan ang mabait inaabuso. Ang pagtanaw ng utang na loob ay maganda, pero hindi po sa panahong ito na kayo ay isang pangulo.

At muli pong paalala. Tigilan na po ang paninisi sa nakaraang admistrasyon. Let's move forward dahil kayo na po ang Pangulo. Do your best and not blame the past President dahil alam na ng taong bayan lahat ng kasablayan ng nakaraang administrasyon.

Freelancer

wahh! Almost 3 months na pala since nung last post ko. This past months na yata ang pinaka busiest days of my life. Akala ko dati madali na maging freelancer pero hindi. Pag pala tumanggap ka ng tatlong trabaho ang hirap palang pag kasyahin ng oras lalo na kung 2 sa job mo ang required na mag trabaho ka araw araw. WALANG day off.

Pero kahit ganun, sulit naman. I earned money ng nasa bahay lang, habang nanonood ng TV.. saan ka makakakita ng ganung trabaho? sa Online Job lang! :)

Para ngang ayoko nang lumabas sa totoong mundo na ang trabaho ay kailangan mo pang bumiyahe, makipag plastikan sa mga katrabaho at saluhin lahat ng sermon ng boss mo. Well sa online job ganun din naman, minsan nasisigawan (thru email) at nagkakaroon din ng mga problema sa katrabaho (mabuti nalang at natanggal sya) eh kayang kaya naman.

May mga araw na nasersermunan, may mga araw na hindi mo mami meet ang mga deadlines, minsan may mga task ka na hindi mo naman alam pero ipapagawa, minsan ipapaulit sayo ng sampung beses ang ginawa mo dahil unacceptable, may mga araw pa na ang sarap murahin ng internet connection dahil sa bagal, at MADALAS ang sarap ibato ng laptop ko sa labas ng bintana dahil nagha hang sa dami ng naka open na applications (Outlook, Chrome, Photoshop, Adobe reader, Skype, Odesk teamroom, Word, Excel, minsan pati Real Player at kung ano anong mga folders.) at minsan ko nang pinukpok ang laptop ko mabuti nalang shockproof ahaha... pero mabuti nalang at kahit ganun, sobrang babait ng mga boss at mga katrabaho ko. :)

Minsan hinahanap ko pa din ang araw araw na umaaalis ng bahay para magtrabaho, pero naisip ko na maswerte ako dahil kahit nasa bahay lang ako e dollars naman ang kinikita ko (yabang eh).

Nakakapagod lang dahil tatlong timezone ang pinagtrtrabahuhan ko. At minsan hindi ko na alam ang tulog. :(

Nag post ako sa blog ko about this hindi para mag yabang, kundi para ma convince ko sarili ko na nag eenjoy ako. ehehe.. Sa bagay enjoy naman ako dahil yung gusto ko ang ginagawa ko (web design, travel research atbp). Minsan lang nawawalan din ako ng gana dahil di ako makapag gala. Pinatay ng online job ang summer ko :( Sabi ko nga, noong wala akong ka pera pera nakakarating ako ng Puerto Galera, Batangas, Boracay at kung saan saan pa. Pero ngayon, marami ngang pera, pero wala namang TIME. This summer Splash Island lang napuntahan ko ahaha... pero may pekeng beach naman sila. Di ko man lang naamoy ang hangin dagat this summer.

Ayun, sana na convince ko sarili ko na masaya ako. ehehe.. oo masaya ako! masaya. Hindi ko naman mapupulot kahit saan ang 52,000 pesos sa loob lang ng 2 months. So masaya. :)

Babawi ako sa mga susunod na buwan.. pwede naman dalhin ang trabaho kahit saan basta may internet connection. Ayun, napadaan lang at napakwento sa aking blog.

Nakakatuwa dahil ilang araw palang kaming magkakilala eh nakagawa na agad sya ng post patungkol sa akin. They are planning a tour in the world. They already been to Thailand and they are currently in Vietnam. Next stop nila Pinas kaya lang natatakot sila sa security dito dahil sa recent bombings at terrorist act.. Anyway, I will still convince them to visit the Philippines.

Enjoy ako sa ginagawa ko dahil ito rin naman ang hilig ko at sobrang bait nila.

Happy Valentine's (and S.A.D) Day!

Its 3:34 AM, and my eyes? still wide open. Then I remember - It's Valentine's Day! Oh jeez, its sucks!

For a day like this where flowers, cards, and chocolates are overflowing, it can be a disappointment to others. Some people are overly dramatic about it and It ends up bringing the feeling of loneliness or depression.

I am single, YES!.. And sometimes I see Valentine’s Day a waste because I don’t have a date or aren’t in a special relationship with someone. But I never felt sad or lonely. I'm still happy because I have dozens of friends (the platonic ones and those with benefits haha..) that i can spend time with.

Being single is... well, nice. It may not always be a bad thing. It gives me more time for myself, to my friends and family. Being single isn't something to be ashamed of, and whether or not I'm in a relationship, it doesn't say anything about who I am as a person. Break-ups hurt us all, and at some level, you might even be relieved from getting away from a manipulative relationship. But honestly, sometimes I just wish there’s a special someone around, to have..... and to hold. Whapak!

Movie Review: 127 HOURS

I just saw the movie last week. And it was an extraordinary film which directed by one of my favorite directors, Danny Boyle. James Franco also made an awesome portrayal of his role as Aron Rolston. This is a kind movie (just like Cast Away) with almost no other actors aside from James Franco to help him out, but it was nicely done! I think Franco will grab the Oscar for Best Actor.

What's in it?
127 Hours, tells how climber Aron Ralston found himself trapped alone under a boulder while hiking in Robbers Roost in Utah, and after waiting for five days, he decided that the only chance he had for survival was to amputate his arm, by Do-It-Yourself surgery using a substandard swiss knife.

What I Like About The Movie?
It was a very interesting movie between a human and his pet rock. I like the idea of Boyle when Aron is struggling on his second day and dealing with his thirst, while the background music is "Lovely Day". Clever!

What I Hated About The Movie?
The scene where he need to amputate his arm.

Aron Ralston, who is now 35 years old, told the Guardian that It does not, however, fully describe his "gruesome" moment of revelation.

When his blunt knife pierced his skin but came to rest against solid bone, Ralston thought there was no chance he could perform the gruesome amputation that would save his life. He brushed some grit from his trapped thumb and a sliver of flesh peeled off "like the skin of boiled milk", he remembers. "I'm like, what the . . . ?

I take my knife and I'm poking a bit more and the knife just slips into the meat of my thumb like it's going into room-temperature butter. My hand has almost jellified. The knife tip goes in and, 'pssstt', the gases from decomposition escape and there's this putrid smell. I go into this rage. I'm in this hyper-emotional state after all this regimented discipline to keep it together and in this moment, when I'm trying to rip my arm out from the rock, I feel it bend and it stops me – 'That's it! I can use the boulder to break my bones!'"

Pico de Loro

Ang Pico de Loro (a.k.a. Mt. Palay-palay) sa Maragondon, Cavite ang kauna unahang bundok na naakyat ko hanggang sa peak (di ko na isasama ang Tagaytay at Baguio hehe). Ito na rin ang pangalawang kong beses na dinayo ang Pico de Loro.

Hindi naman ganoon kahirap akyatin ang Peak ng Pico de Loro. Actually, isa sya sa pinakamadali. pwede mo ngang akyatin kahit naka flipflops ka, basta yung tipong havaianas or Ipanema ang tibay para maka survive, pero yung tropa ko (weighing around 65kg + yung weight ng bag nya) na ang ginamit ay pekeng flip flops na quicksilver eh nakaya naman, ilang oras nga lang eh flat na ang pekeng flip flops nya na parang pandesal na inipit..

Ang nakasama namin sa pag-akyat ay ang mga kabataan ng Dela Paz Adventist Youth at ilang mga schoolmates ko from AUP, kilala kasi ang mga Adventist na mahilig umakyat ng bundok. Kami ay sabit lang sa lakaran na ito. Nasa 34 na katao kaming umakyat nang gabing iyon. Umalis ang inarkilang jeep namin from their church in Binan, Laguna around 3pm. Nagkaligaw ligaw papuntang Ternate Cavite kaya nakarating kami sa drop off point ng bandang 7:00 ng gabi, kumain muna kami ng supper at nagpahinga, pagkatapos nun ay nagdasal, at umarangkada na paakyat ng Pico.

Alas 9 ng gabi kung hindi ako nagkakamali nang simulan namin ang pag akyat, nagtataka lang ako kung bakit ang dami naming binayaran paakyat sa Pico, tatlong beses, sa drop off point, sa camp base 1 at dun sa isang camp na nagpahinga lang kami ng ilang minuto. Dinaig pa ang Toll gate, bawat hinto at pahinga namin sa patag na lupa may bayad. Hindi mo naman malaman kung para saan yun, kami naman nagbabayad nalang tutal bente pesos lang naman bawat camp kesa naman makipagtalo pa.

Matapos ang mga pahinga, at ilang oras ng lakaran at akyatan, narating namin ang camp site na malapit sa peak at around 12 na ng madaling araw. Muli kaming kumain pagkatapos makapagtayo ng tent. Nag check ng facebook dahil may 3g sa peak hahaha.. Nagkwentuhan hanggang antukin. Magiinom pa sana kami kaso sa sobrang pagod eh tinamad na kami, bukod dun ~~wala kaming sapat na tubig pang chaser~~ eh religious group ang kasama namin, respect. Sa lakas ng hangin hindi na ako nakatulog ng maayos, minsan akala ko ay madadala na ng hangin ang tent namin. Nasa bangin pa naman kami ng set up ng tent.

Pagkagising ~~kinabukasan~~ kinaumagahan, muling kumain ng breakfast at nag ayos para umakyat sa peak. Medyo may kahirapan din naman ang pagakyat pero kayang kaya basta may dalawang kamay at paa ka. Noong nasa itaas na kami wala naman kaming makita dahil sa kapal ng fog (or clouds na ata yun). Mga 15 or 20 minutes bago namin naakyat ang peak from last camp base.

Nag sharing at nag worship lang kami, matapos yun nag picture picture at nang magsawa ay bumaba na para magligpit ng tent. Around 9:30 am sinimulan na naming bumaba. Same route ang dinaanan namin. Mas mabilis pero para sakin mas mahirap kasi naka flip flops nalang ako nung bumaba.. Along the way may mga nakasalubong kaming ilang mga hikers na paakyat palang ng Pico. Pagod kaming lahat pero nakukuha paring magbatian ng "good am morning" at mag ngitian.

Nagkahiwa hiwalay na kami ng iba pa naming kasama. Hanggang sa kami nalang limang mag tropa ang naiwang naglalakad pababa. Lahat kami walang marunong sa pag hike. Laking pasalamat nalang namin at may mga ribbons na nakatali sa puno in case nalilito ka sa dalawang daanan. Yung may ribbons ang right way. Mayroon din mga hikers na nag iiwan ng patong patong na bato para malaman mong nasa tamang daan ka. Narating namin ang last camp base sa baba (yung sa may DENR na bahay na magbabayad ka for entrance ~~na nagtitinda ng coke for 20 pesos, 5 piso para sa ligo, 42 pesos para sa tuna, at 20 pesos para sa charging ng cellphone kahit wala namang signal~~) at around 11:30 am. Nagulat lang kami dahil pangalawang grupo palang kami na nakakarating. Nasa 34 kaming umakyat pero nasa sampu palang kami na nakakabalik. People can be seen riding skateboards, while walls are covered with inspirational phrases like 'Fail Harder' and 'What Would You Do If You Weren't Afraid?' Blanko ang isip ko. Hindi ko alam kung paano sisimulan ang post kong ito. When I was in Singapore, ang dami kong gustong iblog, ang dami kong gusto ikwento, ireklamo, isumbong at gusto kong ilabas lahat ng sama ng loob at lungkot ko nung nasa Singapore pa ako pero di ko naman nagawa.

Busy, hectic, haggard.. Yan ang naging buhay ko sa ibang bansa.. Pero masaya. Maraming bagong nakita, natikman at na experience dun (wag bastos ang isip lol). Yes may enough time naman para makapag blog ako pero binuhos ko nalang lahat ng free time ko sa gala - tulog - kain - tulog - gala.

Marami akong dapat ipagpasalamat. Specially those new found friends na naging outlet ko sa mga problemang naranasan ko sa bansa ng mga kirupot na milyonaryo hehe...

Nakaka homesick nung andun ako, sabi ko nga, i've never been that eager to go home. Ngayon ko lang nalaman kung bakit "Bagong Bayani" ang mga OFW. Yung hirap at yung tinitiis nila sa ibang bansa mabigyan lang ng magandang buhay ang pamilya nila dito sa Pinas. Grabeh ang lungkot. Walang katumbas. Mag isa ka ba naman sa isang bansa na wala kang pamilya at kaibigan. When I was in SG, bigla ko na appreciate ang family and friends ko which i usually take for granted nung di pa ako nakakapang ibang bansa.

Nakauwi na nga ako pero homesick pa rin ako, nami miss ko naman ang Singapore hehe.. Ang buhay dun, ang MRT na araw araw kong sinasakyan, at mga roomies ko at katrabaho ko.

Next time, I'll post all the new experiences i had there, nakakatawa at ang mga nakakainis. Hahanap lang ako ng inspiration.

Singapore's cigarette warnings

I stumble upon this webpage from Singapore government and was shock see the ads regarding their campaign to "Quit Smoking"

Cigarettes sold in Singapore were required to display one of six health warning messages. The messages were required to cover at least 50% of the cigarette package front and back.

With effect from 1 January 2009, all duty-paid cigarettes sold in Singapore will be legally required to be marked with the letters “SDPC”.

All cigarettes will continue to be sold in packets bearing the graphic health warning lables as stipulated by the Health Sciences Authority (HSA).

The SDPC will be marked on every individual stick of cigarettes.

How Does a SDPC-marked Cigarette Look Like?

What Does the New Regulation Mean?

From 1 January 2009, all cigarettes without the SDPC-marking in Singapore will be deemed illegal. Therefore, anyone caught selling, buying, or having in possession cigarettes without the SDPC marking will be committing an offence under the Customs and GST Acts.

Why is there a Need for this New Regulation?

The new marking regulation seeks to achieve the following objectives:

To reinforce Singapore Customs’ intensified operations to keep contraband cigarettes off the streets,
As a measure to visibly differentiate duty-paid cigarettes from contraband cigarettes to enhance detection by our enforcement officers, and
As deterrence to curb the peddling and buying of contraband cigarettes in Singapore

What are the Penalties?

Anyone caught selling, buying, or having in possession of duty unpaid cigarettes without the SDPC marking will be committing an offence under the Customs and GST Acts. For every packet of duty-unpaid cigarettes, buyers will be fined $500. Illegal peddlers will be arrested and charged in Court.Offenders will be fined or sent to jail or both.

This means that if anyone, ANYONE that is found in any corners of singapore buy,sell or smoke unpaid taxes cigarettes will be FINED S$500. This is for first time offender.
For two or more, once you are charge on court and it's successful you will be fined 20 times.
S$500×20= S$10000.

Finally, after a month of waiting, nalaman ko nang makakaalis na ako. Mahaba habang process ang inasikaso ko para lang makapag OJT ng libre sa Singapore. Salamat sa Diyos at sa wakas eh may Air ticket na ako (Jetstar) at sponsor/employer (Giordano Singapore).

I' always wanted to travel, pero ngayon palang ako lalabas ng bansa. Excited ako kasi magandang bansa naman ang mapupuntahan ko pero worried kasi alam ko kung gaaano kahigpit ang batas ng Singapore. Expat/Tourist often called SG as the "Fine City" dahil sa mga weirdo nilang do's and don'ts. Ok na rin yun, gusto ko rin kasing makontrol ang pagyoyosi ko kaya ayos sakin ang SG (singapore) dahil mahigpit sila pagdating sa pagyoyosi at sa yosi mismo. Can you imagine, bawal magyosi dun na walang tatak na SDPC. Isa isang tinatatakan ng Singaporean Government ang bawat stick ng yosi sa bansa nila, at pag walang tatak ang niyoyosi mo eh maituturing yung illegal. Masyado kasing mahal ang Sin Tax nila. Ang isang kaha ba naman ng yosi could cost you 325 pesos/pack sa pera natin! Mukang mapapahinto talaga ako, or at least male- lessen ang smoking habit ko.Pero ok na yun. Sang-ayon ako sa ganoong batas. Mabuti nalamang at walang tax pagdating sa mga electronics at gadgets nila. Babawi nalang ako dun.

Isa ito sa pinangarap ko, ang makapag work, at maranasan ang culture ng ibang bansa. Napaka ganda kasi na magkaroon ng experience sa SG dahil sa malawak na Cultural diversity nila. Bagama't sanay ako makipagsalamuha sa ibang lahi, dahil ang AUP (ang kolehiyo na pinangalingan ko) ay mayroong halos 40 different nationality, eh iba pa rin ang experience pag nasa ibang bansa kana talaga.

Isang taon ang pinili kong OJT period para masulit ang pananatili ko doon. Malungkot lamang at hindi na ako makakapag pasko dito sa atin nagyong taon. I'm hoping that pending the holidays in Singapore is as fun as here in our country.

Hindi pagkapanalo, hindi papuri at hindi ito nakakatuwa.

Biglang nakilala ang Maguindanao sa buong mundo pero hindi dahil sa turismo, nakilala ito dahil sa naganap na massacre dito. The Maguindanao massacre is described to be the worst in the history of Philippine journalism, with the highest number of journalists killed ever recorded.. The latest death toll stood at 57, including at least 12 journalists and 8 media crew. Nagsalita na ang iba't ibang media organizations na katulad ng NUJP, FFFJ, PPI, PCIJ, Southeast Asian Press Alliance (Seapa), Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP), Center for Community Journalism and Development (CCJD) and Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility (CMFR) at maging ang ibang world leaders na humihingi ng agarang asksyon sa ating gobyerno dahil hanggang sa ngayon ay wala pa silang maiturong mga suspect, at wala ring iniimbestigahang mga tao na maaring managot dito.

Naipalabas kagabi sa ABS-CBN ang situasyon ni Mr. Ted Failon dati. Na kahit wala pang sapat naebidensya ay agad nila itong inimbita sa office ng pulisya upang imbestigahan. Bakit itong isang pamilya na namumuno sa Maguindanao ay hindi nila magalaw galaw kahit marami na ang nagtuturong sila ang mastermind sa massacre killing na nangyari sa Maguindanao. Sa mga nagdaang eleksyon, nakapagtala at tanging Maguindanao lamang ang nakapag tala ng voting records na 12-0 sa senatorial eleksyon. Marami ang nagduda na baka dinaya ang eleksyon sa Maguindanao. Dun palang may duda na ako kung bakit hindi magalaw ng Administrasyon ang pamilyang ito. Hindi na ako magsasalita tungkol dito at mahirap namang magbintang. Sa tingin ko'y may sasabog pang isang balita bukod sa Political rivalry, ibang dahilan kung bakit ginawa ang massacre na ito at bakit ganun nalang kalakas ang loob ng mastermind nito.

Hanggat walang naihaharap na suspect ang ating gobyerno, patuloy ang pagdududa ng taong bayan sa imbestigasyon. Bagama't napakalayo ng Maynila sa Maguindanao, buong bansa ang naaapektuhan ng masamang balitang katulad nito. Lubhang nakakahiya ang ganitong balita at tiyak na maapektuhan na naman ang ating imahe.

Hillary Clinton's Visit

Matagal tagal akong walang post dito sa blog ko, since inaantay ko pa ang tawag ng sponsor ko for ojt abroad at dakilang tambay ako sa mga darating na linggo eh naisip ko na rin i-update ang blog ko.

Naiinis lang akong isipin na heto na naman ang mga rallies at protesta ng mga militanteng grupo dahil sa pagdalaw dito ni US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Hindi ko alam kung nagpapansin lang ba sila o talagang gusto lang nilang mangulo. Nag proprotesta sila dahil sa issue ng Visiting Forces Agreement ng US at Philipinnes, dahil ito raw talaga ang pinunta nya dito at hindi ang makatulong sa mga nasalanta ng bagyo. Bakit ba galit na galit sila na andito ang mga kanong sundalo? Dahil ba dun sa rape case na nangyari sa Olongapo? Naku naman move on... Pati si Ambassador Kelly dinadamay nyo pa.

Iwelcome nalang natin si Hillary, ipakita natin ang pinoy hospitality at wag na natin bigyan ng malisya ang pagbisita nya dito. Magtrabaho nalang kayong mga nagproprotesta at para mabawasan ang unemployment rate ng bansang ito o kaya tumulong nalang kayo para sa ikauunlad ng bansang ito. Tumulong nalang kayo sa nasalanta ng bagyo.

Para sa akin mas maigi na andito ang US army para suportahan tayo. Alam naman natin na hindi gaanon kalakas ang hukbong sandatahan ng bansang ito. Pag tayo ginera (medyo imposible naman yun dahil wala tayong kaaway) or kung inatake tayo ng mga terorista (wag naman sana) eh may magagawa ba tayo? Hihingi't hihingi rin tayo ng tulong. Sino sila para magprotesta at magalit sa bawat US leader na magpunta dito at pagbintangan ng kung ano ano, sila ba ang susugod at lalaban pag nag karoon ng war against terrorism? Diba mga sundalo natin? Kung tatanungin mo karamihan ng sundalo pabor sila na andito ang US military dahil malaki ang naitutulong nito sa kanila at marami silang natututunan sa mga ito (and vice versa).

Minsan mahiya naman tayo sa ikikilos natin, baka mamaya may mangyaring di natin magustuhan at kailanganin natin ang tulong ng bansang america edi para tayong tanga na galit sa kanila pag walang sakuna pero pag nagkaroon na eh di naman natin alam ang gagawin natin. Let's face it. Bulok ang sistema natin, bulok ang technology natin at bulok ang depensa natin. Isipin mo, napakalapit ng spratlys sa atin pero naagawan pa tayo ng isla doon dahil nauto ng mga Chinese ang Pinoy na sundalo, at ang Hukbo pa natin ang pinaka kaunti doon. Simpleng bagay na dapat bantayan hindi natin nakaya. tsk tsk.. I'm not against sa Hukbong Sandatahan natin dahil alam ko naman talaga ang sitwasyon ng ating bansa, pero naiinis sa mga nagproprotesta na namang mga militanteng grupo dahil sa Visiting Forces Agreement.

Siguro nga hindi sapat ang kaalaman ko kung ano ang dahilan kung bakit sila galit na galit sa mga ito, pero ang alam ko, mga sundalong pinoy na ang nagsabing mas gusto rin nila na andito ang US military. Sila ang may karapatang magsabi ng kagustuhan nila dahil sila naman ang sasabak sa gera at terorismo pag may nangyaring hindi maganda. Yang nagproprotestang mga grupo na yan, lalaban ba sila pag nagkagera??

What Made Me so.. Busy

It's been a long time since my last post in this blog. Nalungkot lang ako nung nakita ko yung page ko na almost two weeks na ring matamlay. I miss blogging kaya eto kahit wala namang nasaisip ko eh magsusulat na rin ako. In this way also, eh makahingi ako ng sorry sa mga nag aabang ng mga susunod kong post. Lalong lalo na sa mga taong nagiiwan ng comments at dun na din sa chatbox ko, maiksi pero napangiti ako sa mga mesage nyo tulad ni Algene at Peenkfrik. Salamat sa inyo.

Tutal nabangit ko naman sa title na "what made me busy" eh sasagutin ko na rin kung bakit.

Una dahil Final exam week na namin. Yes! kahit paano nag aaral naman ako. Wag ka nang magulat hehe.. Madaming dapat unahin although na miss ko talagang mag post ng mga minumuni-muni ng isip ko dito sa blogsphere eh tiniis ko muna dahil maraming dapat unahin. hehe.. Gumawa kasi kami ng short film at hindi pala sya ganun kadali. Do you believe na one week nalang at deadline na at wala pa kaming nauumpisahan kundi brainstorming. Sana matapos namin in time. Ako nga pala ang gumawa ng script at istorya so i'll be happy to post it here pag natapos na namin, kung matatapos namin.

Pangalawa. May bago akong kinaaadikan, pero hindi yung iniisip nyo hehe.. TV series which a friend actually bought at ipinanood sakin, hiniram pero since may history ako na hindi nagbabalik ng mga hiniram na DVD eh hindi sakin pinauwi yung DVD hehe.. so bumili ako. isang box set ng "One tree hill" hehe.. Its good. Maraming kwento sa tv series na yun ang matututunan nyo sa buhay, sa love, sa pagpapahalaga sa pamilya, kaibigan, at sa ambition at pangarap.Hindi ko lang naisip na masyado akong na hook sa tv series na yun na nakalimutan ko nang manood ng TV sa local channels hehe..

Pangatlo, binagyo kami (hmm tayo pala).. nasalanta kami ng bagyo pero hindi naman ganun kagrabe. Naging instant swimming pool lang naman ang garahe at kusina namin. Yung aso lang namin ang natuwa sa baha pero ang nanay ko mamatay na sa kaba kahit wala pang 6 inches ang baha. Well masasabi kong maswerte pa rin kami, pero hindi ko iniisip na malas ang mga nasalanta ng bagyo lalo na sa NCR. Siguro isang way lang ni Bro yan na alagaan natin ang ating kapaligiran.

Embassy Super Club wishes to clarify certain matters related to the unfortunate stabbing incident which has been reported in media the past couple of weeks. The said incident occurred in the early morning of 18 August 2009 within the premises of Cuisine Restaurant and Bar (“Cuisine”), an establishment which is adjacent to Embassy Super Club. The previous night being a Monday, Embassy Super Club was closed to the public at the time of the incident.

The victim of the stabbing, Mr. Dennis Navarro II, received immediate medical attention and has, in fact, already been discharged from hospital.

The Club recognizes that the city government of Taguig has deemed it proper to close Cuisine pending the completion of its investigation of the incident. Embassy Super Club, however, has sought the reconsideration of the Taguig city government’s simultaneous closure of the Club inasmuch as the incident occurred in Cuisine which is a distinct and separate establishment from the Club. Embassy Super Club operates under entirely different management from Cuisine. It likewise employs staff, and deploys security personnel, all of whom are different from those employed by Cuisine. Further, the Club adopts more stringent security measures and maintains more technologically advanced security systems than those of Cuisine, all of which ensure the safety of the Club’s patrons. These include: walk-thru metal detectors, drug-sniffing dogs, 60 security personnel, a full-time security consultant, and 50 CCTV cameras (which are 4 times more than those installed in Cuisine).
The reconsideration is likewise being sought on behalf of the 150 people who are presently employed by Embassy Super Club, none of whom had any participation in the incident which occurred in Cuisine, but all of whom are now currently without income and unable to support their dependent families as a result of the continued closure of the Club.

The fact that the incident did not occur within the Club’s premises notwithstanding, the management of Embassy Super Club has extended full support and cooperation to the Taguig City-PNP, and has undertaken to adopt the additional security recommendations of Taguig City Chief of Police, PS/SUPT. Camilo Cascolan.

Embassy Super Club hopes that the foregoing clarifications will warrant the reconsideration by the Taguig city government of its closure order against the Club.

Let's support this petition, the stabbing incident was happened in Cuisine and not in the Club proper. Gawin natin to hindi para makapag club uli tayo (pwede rin) pero gawin natin to para dun sa pamilya ng almost 150 employees ng Embassy SuperClub na umaasa dito. Di ko ma post yung banner eh. Im sorry, may topak ang PC ko. Anyway, maraming salamat kay "kim" PEENKFRIK sa ibinahagi mo. Haha.. iiupunin ko lahat ng shared awards na binibigay nyo. At kasama sa rule sa pagpasa nya ng tagged na to eh ang "Name 7 things about yourself that people might find interesting." So, I'll start.

1) Isang kahang yosi ang nauubos ko sa isang araw. And I'm planning to lessen it, as in half. Pero katulad ng sinabi ko, plano ko palang.. *wink

2) Channel 2 ang pinanonood ko hehe... Team Kapamilya ako. yeah yeah yeah!

3) Tatlong beses na akong nagpalipat lipat ng kolehiyo, at tatlong beses na akong nagshi-shift ng kurso, hehe...from AMA-makati, Letran, at Perpetual.. from IT, Tourism, and finally, ang tinodo ko na, one more year eh graduate na rin sa wakas ng BS Commerce majoring in Business Management, Marketing, with minor in HRM. Cool...

4) Apat na beses na akong na-teterminate sa trabaho. From P&G, Tropical Hut, Dickies at McDonald's nung feel na feel ko pang magtrabaho kahit parang pamasahe ko nalang ang sinusweldo ko. Yan ang mga times na burido ako sa buhay at hindi pa nagaaral. Yung Mcdonalds ko eh di ko sure kung terminate ako. hehe.. Kasi nagpasa pa ako ng resignation letter eh. EWAN KUNG UMABOT. =) Ang reason kung bakit lagi akong fired? --- sa Dependability ko hehe.. Laging late, absent at dahil sa attitude problem ulit. Maikwento ko lang. Noon, matagal na dapat akong naterminate sa isang fastfood chain dahil lagi akong late. Problema naman sa sked manager, alam nang may insomia ako eh lagi pa rin akong opener.. Nananadya. Minsan sinagot ko nga. Ayun natakot naman at tumagal pa ako ng 2 more years bago ako pinilit na mag resign. As in force to resign. My fault. I know. MALAKI NANG PINAGBAGO KO NGAYON. Ayaw mong maniwala???? hehehe....

5) Kaya kong umubos ng limang bote ng softdrinks sa panonood ng isang pelikula lang. I wonder kamusta na kaya ang bituka ko?

6) Anim beses ako kung kumain sa isang araw. Almusal, brunch, lunch, snack, dinner at late snack.. hehe.. Walang yang biro! Di kasi ako basta basta nabubusog. Mabilis lang siguro metabolism ko. Konting kilos ko lang gutom na naman ako. Kung kilala mo ako, alam mong lagi akong may bitbit na Soyamilk at mushroom burger (no choice, vegetarian ang skul namin) kada vacant ko sa class. Ngayon na lessen na, kasi chicken empanada naman ang kinaaadikan ko hehe..

7) hah.. sa wakas last na. Taxation, Accounting, Practicum, World Litterature, Economics, Out-reach at Work Ed. Pitong subjects ang enrolled ako ngayong semester. hehe.. mukang hindi ka interesado haha...

College Drop Out But Billionaires

They are Billionaires and, they drop out of college. I once read it in the book- "Law Of Leverage".

Sabi ng parents natin, ang College degree ay importante, iaahon ka nito sa hirap at tulay ito sa mabuting buhay sa hinaharap.. NAH......! not for this self made Billionaires.
I just want to share this with you.

This speech that Larry Ellison (Oracle CEO) gave at Yale University to the Graduating class of 2000. I don't know if this is true. But i've seen this in the book Im reading a while ago.

"Graduates of Yale University, I apologize if you have endured this type of prologue before, but I want you to do something for me. Please, take a good look around you. Look at the classmate on your left. Look at the classmate on your right. Now, consider this: five years from now, 10 years from now, even 30 thirty years from now, odds are the person on your left is going to be a loser. The person on your right, meanwhile, will also be a loser. And you, in the middle? What can you expect? Loser. Loserhood. Loser Cum Laude.

So perhaps this would be a good time to bring up the silver lining. Not for you, Class of '00. You are a write-off, so I'll let you slink off to your pathetic $200,000-a-year jobs, where your checks will be signed by former classmates who dropped out two years ago.

Instead, I want to give hope to any underclassmen here today. I say to you, and I can't stress this enough:

LEAVE. Pack your things and your ideas and don't come back. Drop out. Start up. For I can tell you that a cap and gown will keep you down just as surely as these security guards dragging me off this stage are keeping me dow..."

He is so mean haha!... Anyway hindi lang si Larry Ellison ang richest college drop out, not to mension na some of them are actually a self confessed marijuana users a.k.a. Pot heads haha... This billionaires are awesome! Here's the list...

Recently, nagbasa basa ako ng emails ko na hindi ko naman madalas gawin dahil tadtad ng spam message na nanalo ako sa promo ng Pepsi, Hyundai, Microsoft at pati na pamana ng hindi ko naman kilalang tao na taga Sierra Leonne. Malamang naka receive din kayo ng ganyan. Nakakasawa na. may one time din na, nabasa ko rin ang ibang violent reactions ng ibang tao thru my email, hindi ko alam na may nao-offend na pala ako sa mga sinusulat ko lalo na pagdating sa mga personal na paniniwala. Humihingi po ako ng kapatawaran.

Hindi ko ito sinsadya. Ito ang takbo ng isip ko. Katulad ng sinabi ko dati, i am a 'raw' blogger. Hindi ako nag eedit. What you read here is what inside my mind at this particular moment, kaya nga minsan o madalas (kayo na humusga) mapapansin mong sablay ang english ko, pati na rin ang grammar ko sa Tagalog. Madami palang nagrereact thru email at egroups sa mga pinopost ko, palibhasa nasanay ako sa mga komento ng mga mababait na readers sa mismong blog ko. And I think thats fair. maganda yung may mga reaction "galit" paminsan minsan, ibig sabihin nakakapag ingay ako, pero hindi ko alam kung sa tamang paraan pa. I guess kailangan ko nang mag edit, kailangan ko ang gumagawa ng draft, at kailangan ko nang basahin ng sampung beses ang artikulo ko bago ko ito ipost sa Blogsphere. kailangan ko ding maging sensitibo sa mararamdaman ng iba, pero in a way na bulgar pa rin ang sinusulat ko.

Nung una akong mag umpisa bilang blogger, ang tema ng blog ko ay humor, usually mga jokes at funny picture ang nilalagay ko, hanggang sa gumawa ako ng isa pang blog na patungkol naman sa 'Marijuana' at para lang sa marijuana, pinaniniwalaan ko kasi ang mabuting dulot nito at ang maitutulong nito sa Global warming at food huger (hindi ko na dito ieexplain, pls see: Denzmeister) yung blog kong yun maraming sumuporta, lalo na sa USA, na sinundan ng paggawa ko ng facebook Cause na 'Support Medical Marijuana' na sa ngayon may may humigit nang isang libong miembro. Gumawa ulit ako ng isang blog, isang travel blog, hanggang sa hindi ko na mabilang kung ilan na ba talaga ang blogs na nagagawa ko. kaya noong new year last last year, isa sa new years resolution ko na i-a-avoid ko nang gumawa "ULIT" hehehe ng panibagong blog. Hindi ko ito nasunod.

Gumawa ako ng isa pa. Sabi ko last na. At ito na ngayon to, itong binabasa mo, itong url na to, itong blogsite na ito -- Ako Si Dencio--. Nung una, personal journal lang hanggang sa nagkaroon na ng mga followers at usual readers. Astig. Kaya pinagtuunan ko ito ng pansin, dito ako nag focis sa blog kong ito. Di naglaon ang personal journal na blog ko eh naging isang commentary blog na. Ang hilig kong makipag diskusyon at makipagtalo sa inuman naming magtro-tropa eh dinala ko na sa blogsphere. Pero hindi ito usapang lasing ha. hehehe..

Ilang taon pagkatapos ng kauna unahan kong post sa blogsphere noong June 2007 heto at sunod sunod ang recognition na nakukuha ko sa mga kapwa ko bloggers na hindi ko naman personal na mga kakilala. Lahat yun pinahalagahan ko na kahit parang ang korni para sa iba (sabi nga ng isang tropa ko, wala naman daw tunay na plaque at cash prizes pero tuwang tuwa ako) ang mga tagging/awards na mga badge eh pinahahalagahan ko ito ng sobra. Maraming salamat sa mga unang nagbahagi. (anodaw?)

recently ulit, heto at naka receive ako ng dalawang Awards mula sa mga "KABLOG" elite team, mga patikang bloggers at kaibigan ko na sa blagospero (na hindi ko ulit personal na mga kilala).

Nakakatuwa lang isipin na inspite of negative feedback ng ibang tao sa blog ko eh nakakuha pa rin ako ng ganitong award, hehe.. seryoso ito, of all the Pinoy OFW/Expat bloggers world wide, isa ako sa binigyan nila at dalawa pa ang nakuha ko, (GODBLESS mga kablogs..) kaya talagang na-appreciate ko ito ng sobra. Akalain mong ako ang "most read" hehe.. Kaya kahit nag email na ako sa kanila at nagpasalamat, uulitin ko ulit dito sa aking post.

Becoming a Saint

Yes, I am a Catholic but I don't really believe in this Saint stuff, I mean, I prayed but never on a Saint. Why do i have to pray to them when i can pray directly to God or to Jesus Christ. But of course, I give respect to these saints, and I know that becoming a Saint is not that easy.

A lot of Filipinos are actually in favor of nominating Pres. Cory Aquino to become a Saint. But how and in what extent?...

Here's how.....

You may have heard recent news of a person being made into a patron saint for specific situations or places. There is an up and down issue about a person who has died living for the faith and whether he should be canonized or not. It is a tedious process that has a systematized procedure to determine whether the person involved should receive the title of saint.

1. Understand what the word 'saint' means. A saint is someone who has been deemed 'holy' by the Catholic church. The Church believes that a canonized individual is definitely in heaven. That means you can pray to him/her, and he/she can intercede on behalf of people still on earth.

2. Live a Devoted (Catholic) Life. Although the Church acknowledges that there are many more saints in heaven than have been canonized on earth, it will not canonize a member of another faith.

3. Give yourself to God. Saints aren't just good; they're outstanding. Catholics venerate them because through them, the world could see the awesome wonder of Christ. Think of a saint like Francis of Assisi, Thomas Aquinas, Joan of Arc, St. Peter, St. John of the Cross, etc. All of them not only loved God, but adored God; they not only followed him to Gethsemane, but they followed him to the cross. Your aim is not to be canonized, but to be unified to God.

4. "Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33)

5. Love!. when you love someone show them you realy care and tell them that God is with them.

6. After your death, the responsibility lies mostly with the living bishops and pope of the Church. They will wait at least 5 years before beginning a copious analysis to make sure that your life on earth was pure, virtuous, kind, prudent and devout.

7. Perform miracles. These are affirmations that you can in fact intervene on the part of humans, and verifiable miracles are required for canonization.

8. Observe the Mass in your honor'. There, your life history will be read aloud. The Mass will usually occur in St. Peter's square, where the pope will chant in Latin:In honor of the Blessed Trinity, for the exaltation of the Catholic Faith and the growth of Christian life, with the authority of Our Lord Jesus Christ, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul and Our Own, after lengthy reflection, having assiduously invoked God's assistance and taken into account the opinion of many brothers of ours in the episcopate, we declare and define [name] to be a saint [or "to be blessed"], and we enroll him in the Catalogue of the saints, and we establish that in the whole Church he should be devoutly honored among the saints. In the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

9. Answer prayers. Now that Catholics are officially permitted to venerate you, they can ask you to speak with God on their behalf.

Becoming a saint requires a life's dedication to the ways of the Catholic Church both in prayer and in actions. You can find books on lives of the saints, and more often than not, you can see that they have lived their lives in simplicity, helping others and spreading the word of God. They are a symbol for many things in our daily lives. Truly, these are amazing men and women, but no one says that we need to be saints to make a difference. Even you can make miracles in the little acts of kindness you do in your daily life...
