This dress was another gem found at Marshall's during my last shopping trip with Lani, Lissy, Jean and Bettina. Kudos to Lani for spotting it and generously handing it over to me. It was only available in a medium and even knowing major work was required, I took a chance on it anyway. The day spent on alterations was well worth the effort because I've been wearing it nonstop. I paired it with sandals to run errands and heels to dinner. Easy breezy! The fabric is on the heavy side, great for spring and fall but perhaps not ideal for summer.

I made this swimsuit cover set days before I left. It was conceived out of frustration because the cover I ordered was due to arrive after my departure. I originally made the bottom with no intention of having a matching top but didn't want to waste the left over fabric. I love that it can serve double duty as a beach cover or as a regular skirt with the interchangeable and removable lining. When I first debuted it on Instagram, a longtime reader, Aubrey, suggested I post a fourth photo having nothing underneath with caption "now serving 3x duty as naughty housewife apparel." lol. The skirt is available for purchase on Etsy (here), whichever way you choose to wear it is up to you! :)

Hi Khatu's readers! I am Elle and I write Fast Food & Fast Fashion, a blog that is light on food and heavy on fashion. I love discussing the weather on my blog, mostly to complain about the cold and about how I can't wait to retire to sunny California or to a tropical island of my choice.

It won't surprise you then that I am beyond excited for the arrival of spring and the warmer weather that accompany it. And what better way to welcome spring than with a post detailing my love of trench coats, a fall and spring staple in my closet.

My style leans toward feminine - with heavy emphasis on dresses and skirts - to compensate for my masculine interior. Trench coats, with their strong military influence, serve as the perfect foil to the flirtier side of my style.

Finding the perfect trench coat is kind of like discovering a four-leaf clover - hard to find but lucky to have. In that respect, I have gotten very lucky.

I used to own around ten trench coats but have since whittled down my collection to three, a reasonable number (in my opinion).

I like to wear the shortest of three trench coats with pants, the just-above-the-knee length one with skirts, and the longest trench coat with dresses. I think it's because trench coats used to be part of a military officer's uniform, but they add a touch of sophistication to even the frumpiest of outfits.

Do you find trench coats as enticing as I do?

Hi lovely readers of I am Khatu! My name is Kate and I write a blog called O My Heart! These photos were taken on a very blustery day, so forgive my crazy hair flying everywhere.

These mirrored aviators were actually ~~inspired by~~ completely copied from Khatu... as soon as I saw them on her I knew I had to have them, and while she's now rocking her awesome new Ray-ban version, I scooped up her original ASOS ones (which have since sold out, unfortunately!) and could not be happier.

After featuring Darren in a few posts in casual wear, I thought I'd show the other side of him. If there's one thing I can say about Darren, it's that he is very particular with his suits. When we received this from Banana Republic, he was pleasantly surprised by the fit and how little work it needed. While all suits require a certain amount of tailoring, this one was near perfect. Although he could have worn it as is, Darren had the jacket taken in even more as he prefers his suits fitted.

With a strict business dress code, he likes to add a touch of spunk to his attire with fun socks. What started out as just a few pairs, now, has quickly grown into a wardrobe staple.When he's not too busy modeling for me, this is what he wears to his day job. lol.

This is what I wore to Spoonful of Ginger, an annual fundraiser to benefit Asian American diabetes research. I made it specifically for the event because I didn't have anything to wear nor did I feel like shopping. The design was inspired by Delpozo fall/winter 2013 collection, in particular, this red dress! The sleeves were a conscience addition, the lace trim however, was the end result of a measurement miscalculation. A happy accident, because I really love the outcome!

By far, this is the most advanced and time consuming project I've ever attempted. It took me almost an entire week to complete. The most difficult part was the box pleats/scallop details around the waist. Together with Karen from In Stitches, we were able to somewhat figure out the secret behind the construction. Each section was painstakingly hand stitched, not to mention I took it apart several times due to uneven placement. Although no where near the original, I think we did fairly well duplicating it.

I had these Asos mirror lens for about two weeks before misplacing them somewhere. Like my mother used to say, I'd lose my head if it weren't attached to my body. I thought about buying another pair but Darren surprised me with something I've been coveting and got me these Ray-Bans instead! Awwwwww. Husbands, they're the best. lol.
