All set for this semester

Last Tuesday was the last day of class for fall semester. I'm truly Thankful! I'm not a morning person and getting up at 6am for class was killing me! I'm about finished with my clinical too. Clinical is an interesting experience. I came home emotionally and physically exhausted from it everyday. And, on the first day of clinical it just had to snow 6in the night before, making my commute an hour instead of 20min. The city called a snow emergency day for the day after and my car nearly got towed. I ran out to my car in the nick of time to stop it from happening. Overall, clinical itself, was okay. I learned that when working in real life, nothing really goes by the book and lab classes. My state exam is this Friday. Wish me luck. :)

Reminiscing

I looked through my portfolio and saw this. It made me sad but happy at the same time. I feel like I have grown so much from since I graduated from art school in 2009. I love illustrating and I always will but I no longer want it as a career. I love helping people and I realized that's what truly makes me happy, hence why, I'm working toward being a crna. But, that doesn't mean that I'll stop painting, doodling, and creating art. :)

Simple skincare review

I'm trying to keep my promise not to neglect this blog but I'm finding it hard to do. The past few weeks between finalizing and launching Airy Dreams, I have been helping LSY clean and paint his new room. And, I started school this week. I graduated with my BFA in 2009 and I'm now working toward my crna doctorate. That's another 7yr of schooling. :(
Anyways, moving on...My Walgreens had a buy one get one free sale with Simple skincare line and I decided to get the moisturizer and toner. I have heard good things about the line and it's great for sensitive skin. I don't have sensitive skin but I do have acne prone, oily, and dry patchy skin.
Right before I graduated from college, I developed adult acne because I was stressed out and not taking care of myself. It's a lot better now, but I still get an occasional cystic breakout. I tried a lot of things and nothing have seemed to work. I went to a dermatologist that put me on an antibiotic for two years. It helped a little but didn't get rid of it. Then I was on birth control, which didn't get rid of it either. I have given up and learned how to deal with it. Summer is when my skin is at it's worst. My skin gets extremely oily and it breaks out like crazy. That's mostly due to the humidity here in the midwest.
I was using a Cetaphil moisturizer for a year and half. Cetaphil is also designed for sensitive skins too. I like using sensitive skin moisturizer because I find that it helps with my dry patches and keeps my skin hydrated. I didn't really like the Cetaphil moisturizer because it was really thick and it took a long time to dry, before I can apply my makeup on. Although, it did really do wonder on my skin, which is the only reason why I kept using it. At the beginning of this month, I finished my Cetaphil moisturizer and started using the Simple moisturizer and toner. I love the moisturizer and toner. The moisturizer squeeze out of the tube thick but it melts onto my skin and dries in seconds. I had a dry patch on my left cheek that went away after using the moisturizer for a week. The toner feels refreshing and no burring or etc. It gets a lot of dirt and excess makeup or products off my face. Since I have been using them my skin has cleared up a lot.

Wide calves drama!!!

I have always had really big calves even, when I was only 100 lb. And, it really doesn't help that I'm a petit Asian girl with size 6 feet. Finding boots that fits me perfectly, was always a challenge. I never had any luck with those wide calves boots either. However, I have found a few pairs that fit me perfectly thanks to these tips and tricks I learned.

first: faux leather mid length boots-Charlotte Russe, second: leather over the knee boots-Aldo, third: faux leather knee length boots-F21

1. Faux leather and suede have some stretch to them, which make them easier to mold to your calves.

2. Wear your new boots a few hours for a couple of days to break them in.

3. Opt for a pair of boots without zippers. They're easier to stretch and there won't be zipper imprints on your calves at the end of the day.

4. Go a size up or two and wear thick socks on your feet.

I came across this product online called Boot Band that could help. It's a stretchy extender that could be added to the shafts of your boots with zippers. Although, I have never tried it myself, I thought it's a pretty neat and smart idea. They come in many different sizes, colors, and styles. A Rue 21 just opened in my local mall and I decided to look around. I saw this gorgeous pink chiffon maxi skirt and I fell in love instantly. Thankfully, I found the last one in size. I noticed a little rip at the seam, where the skirt and the band are attached. I worked in retail before and I know that a discount could be given to damaged merchandises. A certain percentage could be taken off from the price but it really depends on the store. It was 50% for one of the ones I worked for in the past and 25% for another one. The skirt was $21.00 and I got it for $12.00! That's definitely a score!

I'm Back!!!

I created this blog three years ago with the intention of blogging about my life and interests. However, I stopped after two years because I felt really disconnected with my life, career, and the blog. I couldn't really put much of my true self into the blog because I don't like to talk about myself. But, that was the main purpose why I created this blog so, I can express my thoughts, emotions, ideas, and etc... I decided to restart this blog because I'm at a chapter in my life.

After being out of school for three years, I'm finally going back to school. I no longer working for a crap corporate job that never appreciated me. And...I finally realized what I want to do career wise. That's what pushed me to restart this blog. I want to start out fresh again.
