Pioneering Protection

In 2007, three passionate women formed friendships through a non-profit organization devoted to reforming child abuse and neglect. They’ve since joined forces and are advocating for a Bill to establish the Pennsylvania Central Registry, an online user-friendly public portal. However, it’s estimated that for every case reported, two cases will go unreported. Pennsylvania currently does not offer a public website to find convicted offenders, but PA State Representative Aaron Bernstine (R) who represents Butler and Lawerence counties is ready to change that thanks to two grandmothers, Donna M. Two hearts became one. Robin Brown and Robert Wilson were married on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at God's House and Family Ministry in a small intimate candle-lit ceremony. The bride wore an ivory white v-neck tea-length bridal midi gown. Her hair was in an updo with baby's breath and an ivory two-tier ribbon edge veil. She was given away into marriage by her uncle Barry Greiner. The officiant was Pastor Rich Calvin. The wedding party consisted of Donna Kshir, matron of honor, Rachel Jackson, bridesmaid, Jazzlyn Jackson, flower girl and Jerry Lullo, best man. Maureen Ruhl served as the photographer. Following the ceremony, a meal was prepared by friends of the bride and held in the basement of the church to celebrate the newlywed couple. They danced their first dance to, 'It's Your Love' by Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. The bride's favorite song. It was a magical day full of love and laughter! The bride and groom danced the afternoon away with friends and family and embarked on their new journey into Forever & Always. The groom is a musician and the bride is a homemaker and volunteer at The Salvation Army in Renovo, where the happy couple reside.

Two grandmothers from Clinton County continue to petition to make the state’s child abuse registry open to the public just as the sex offenders’ registry is open to the public under Megan’s Law. Donna M. Kshir (North Bend) and Lee Cougardawn Roberts (who divides her time between Clinton County and Crestview, Flordia) are continuing to seek legislation to become law that would require the State Police to open the current private database of individuals convicted of child abuse offenses in the state, including their name, date of birth, the tier of the crime and the location the crime took place, according to Lexi Howard, an assistant and spokeswoman for Ms. Kshir and Roberts. Pennsylvania has one of the highest overdose death rates in the country. Renovo, the once quiet, sheltered rural town has also felt the crunch. Renovo is hardly the town it used to be with Opioids, Methamphetamines, and Fentanyl, running rapidly, falling into children’s hands. In recent months, the town has relied heavily on local volunteer fire departments and ambulance crews to assist them in emergency situations. These incidents have placed volunteer rescue workers’ lives in jeopardy, reinforcing that a community cannot rely on volunteers alone, police protection is a necessity.
