(Ja, jeg misset 14/14 – ikke bra, ikke bra – men dog 13/14 ikke så verst det heller. Det finnes andre ting i livet enn trening hva?) 13 dager tok det meg å (hva jeg vil kalle) forandre kroppen min. Jeg har merket at elipse maskinen stresser knærne mine litt, så derfor tok jeg en gym pause på fredag, og lørdag så var det ikke tid for både yoga og gymmen, og i henhold til avtalen med meg selv, så gikk yoga foran. Så i går søndag, da jeg gikk på yoga (før gymmen) hadde jeg da kun trent yoga de siste tre dagene. Syk følelse var det. Jeg har aldri vært så smidig og fleksibel. Miss Elastic. Det var som om en bryter var slått på, og gitt meg fleksibilitet og masse core-styrke. Føltes bra. Nei, det føltes utrolig bra. Og utrolig rart. Hvem trenger Trond Viggo Torgersen når man har Bikram Yoga for å bli kjent med kroppen sin?  For jeg begynner å bli kjent med min.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Jeg regnet litt tilbake, og jeg fant ut at ca. de siste ni årene har jeg vært ”cardio-narkoman”. 5-6-7 dager i uken siden 2001 har jeg trent en eller annen form for svette og ”stresse” aktivitet, med full musikk på øret. De siste seks har dette vært så godt som bare løping. Ikke en gang har jeg tatt en pause, slått av musikken og tatt en pust i bakken. Det har bare blitt mer og mer (og mer) etter hvert som kondisjonen og formen har blitt bedre. Og så kom jeg dit jeg var for noen uker siden; ”angrep fra alle kanter” (av knærne i alle fall). &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Jeg har trent godt og mye til min store glede. Men jeg har aldri lyttet til hva som kroppen har villet, for så lenge kroppen holder, så finnes det ingen begrensninger på min viljestyrke.  (Det blir mye filosofi.) Men for å komme mot en konklusjon… I går satt jeg ”depressiv” inne en søndag med gråvær og duskregn – for meg det perfekte løpevær. Bena klødde etter løpeskoene, og jeg fantaserte om kilometer etter kilometer med endorfiner for å blidgjøre den sure nedbøren. Så gikk jeg på yoga. Nå tenker jeg på knærne med nye øyne, jeg kan i grunnen være ganske takknemlig for at de sa stopp. Hadde jeg fortsatt kunnet løpe, ville jeg aldri ha tatt en pause og tatt meg tid til disse to ukene. Det sies at; ”To fix something, you need to break it first”, og ja, jeg påsår at det er her jeg er i dag. For at alle treningstimene uten god og riktig tøyning skal repareres, så måtte noe ”bli ødelagt” først. Bikram Yoga NYC opererer med utrykket: If you are not happy with your new body, we’ll give you your old one back.&quot; Vel, jeg savner min gamle løpekropp, men den nye er ikke å forakte den heller. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Det beste er vel å møtes ett sted på midten. Jeg håper vi møtes snart.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;PS. Jeg skal uansett fullføre min 14-dagers, men må dermed ta en dobbeltime en dag det passer for å få 14 timer på 14 dager. For jeg skal klare utfordringen. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Det er første gang jeg trener yoga så kontinuerlig, og i tillegg så har jeg sluttet å løpe. En utrolig seier er det for kroppen min, som jeg må påstå er utrolig velvillig om dagen. Nesten borte er vondter, stramme muskler, mørke ringer under øynene og anstrengthet, og tilstede er hjernen, en flexibel kropp, og ny energi. Aldri har jeg følt meg lettere til sinns, aldri har huden min vært penere, og skjeldent har jeg vært mindre anstrengt. Jeg er redd Yoga Bliss kan bli veldig avhengighets skapende. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Jeg har lagt merke til at jeg skriver ’gjøre’ yoga og ’treningsfri’, bare yoga i dag, etc., men dette er vel en sterk underdrevenhet. For er det noe Bikram Yoga er, så er det hard trening—både fysisk og psykisk—og sjeldent skjelver muskulaturen min så mye som den gjør i mange av de krevende positurene. Heldigvis blir jeg fort sterkere og mer fleksibel, så i dag hadde jeg en liten personlig seier, da jeg klarte å holde helene i denne posisjonen (har bare klart å holde føttene før), og nesten få pannen ned på gulvet foran meg. Oslo Maraton er lagt på hyllen til neste år. Som jeg begynte å nevne i forrige innlegg, så har jeg kjøpt meg en ultralyd maskin for hjemme bruk. Ultralyd beskrives av mange som å være en avgjørende faktor for bedring fra Hoffas syndrom, derav brukt opptil tre ganger om dagen. Det var ikke så vanskelig utregning å finne ut at dette ville bli vanskelig dersom jeg ikke hadde en maskin selv—og hva finner man ikke ved å google? Amazon.com solgte følgelig Home Unit’s, og for noen 100-lapper hva har jeg å tape? Ultralyd virker på den måten (slik jeg forstår det) at lydbølger trenger igjennom huden, og skaper vibrasjon i ”soft tissues” (oversettelse anyone?) i kneet. Varmen som dannes bidrar til å trekke blod inn i området som blir behandlet, som bringer oksygen og næring til problem regionen, og fjerner celle avfall og hevelse som jeg har. (Jeg er ingen ekspert på området, så jeg kan med stor mulighet ha misforstått.)  Jeg håper da at med TENS (elektronisk stimulasjon) som FT gir meg, og min egen behandling med Ultralyd vil gi meg ett lite forsprang til friskhet. For selv i Yoga Bliss er ikke livet helt det samme uten løping. But until then... Begge knærne var hovne, og da jeg også var tom for Voltaren, betød det mye ubehag. Etter 90 minutter i et altfor varmt Yoga rom, med en kranglete kropp, var motet på bunnen. Det gjorde ikke saken lettere at det var problematisk å gå normalt. &lt;br /&gt;Heldigvis så hadde jeg time hos fysioterapeuten, og han visste råd. Knærne fikk behandling med varme, elektroder, massasje og is. Og i tillegg til innsålene jeg hatt fått før, anbefalte han meg å bruke ”kneestraps” også i det daglige. Da var jeg ferdig etter 1 ½ time, var jeg i mye bedre form.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Etter FT, gikk turen til akupunktør i China Town, der jeg fikk introduksjon i diverse kinesisk ”medisin”.  Først en time med akupunktur; bena ble ’bestukket’ med diverse nåler, derav nålene i knærne med elektroder.  Videre fikk korstrygg og bakside av knær samme behandling (med elektroder i korsrygg). Etterpå ble ryggen behandlet med vakum-kopper, så kroppsmassasje, og tilslutt ble knærne ble smurt-inn med kinesisk urtemixtur, (i tillegg fikk jeg resept på Voltaren). Til sammen to timers behandling, kostnad: $60 + tips.  WOW, can you believe it?? Tror aldri det har vært vanskeligere å  gi tips. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Du kan si jeg fikk min dose behandling i går, og en god ladning med elektrisitet. ;D Knærne er selvsagt veldig mye bedre etter gårsdagen, nå gjelder det å holde dem ved like!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fysioterapeuten lo for øvrig godt, og kalte meg ”&lt;a href=&quot;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bionic_Woman&quot;&gt;Bionic Woman&lt;/a&gt;” på bakgrunn av alt utstyret jeg nå er rustet med. Vel stort sett i alle fall… Nå vet jeg hvordan hundene har det etter en dag med mor og far på jobb! Bena klødde av over ekstase, og hadde det ikke vært for det dumme kneet, så tror jeg det hadde blitt en lang, og utrolig kjapp tur, for det var nok energi å ta av. Men etter 4.5 miles  (ca. 7km) var det full stopp, kneet kunne ikke bøyes lenger. Ble en ganske lang ”walk of lame…” hjem, orket ikke gå ut av parken for å ta taxi - men det var ved godt mot. Stupid, stupid, stupid!! Vel, positiviteten er i all fall tilbake; 10 miles…??!!  Fornuften dog, den er visst fraværende.&lt;br /&gt;Thumbs UP!! Jeg kan vel enkelt si meg enig i det; løping er mitt dop; min nikotin, og uten løping blir verken jeg eller hverdagen like glad. Løping gir meg energi, styrke, endorfiner, og ro. Dager da jeg ikke løper kan jeg lett bli irritabel, ukonsentrert, og lei – akkurat som en nikotin avhenging som ikke får nikotin. Forskjellen er at  i motsetning til nikotin og rusavhengiges trang til tilførsel av giftige kjemikalier, har jeg en trang til utførsel; en overdose energi som må få utspring. Vel, det er vel ikke noe galt med det? Trening er jo sunt! Var utrolig varmt her i dag, 30+ med høy luftfuktighet, så syntes det passet bedre for en noe redusert kropp å løpe i en behageligere temperatur. Etter noen kilometer med litt kaldsvette, hadde kroppen fått løpt av seg gårsdagen, og formen var vel tilbake. Løp 10,64 i stedet for oppsatte 6,43,var godt å få lest igjennom noen av bladene som har ligget og ventet. Avsluttet med 30-40 min styrke og ny energi. Ukens total distanse ble med det 84,28 kilometer. Føler meg sterke enn noensinne, tydelig at treningsprogrammet fungerer etter hensikten.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Nike+ hadde denne meldingen etter at jeg pga av treningsprogrammet har gått ned fra 7 til 6 løpe dager i uken - litt komisk syntes jeg. Da jeg endelig har blitt motivert til å kutten NED på trenigen. Selv om jeg var særdeles forsiktig med alkohol inntak i går – igjen (vet jeg er en festbrems), så hjelper det ikke på formen å spasere forsiktig inn døren etter lysets fremspring!  Blir en rolig søndag. Nå håper jeg det er en stund til noen andre fyller år… ;) &lt;br /&gt;Dagens joggetur (blir nok et rolig tempo i dag), får vente til hodet har våknet litt, så får jeg gripe det lille som er igjen av dagen først. Yoga som var planlagt både lørdag og søndag fikk vike for gårsdagens festiviteter… Jeg lever i en evig trade-off diskusjon mellom hva som er godt for kroppen, hva som er godt for moralen, og hvor grensen går mellom moro og for seriøs. Prøver fortsatt å finne den gyldnemiddelvei der alle parter blir fornøyd.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Gårsdagens løpetur gikk greit, var mindre stiv i bena enn jeg hadde fryktet, men tok det allikevel med ro. Løpeskjørt..WTF?... ’G’, så jålete, tenkte jeg. Hva er vitsen med det? Men fashion major som jeg er, tok det ikke så lang tid før jeg gikk til innkjøp av et selv. Hvorfor skal man ikke se feminin ut mens man trener? Det er vel en grunn til at rosa og lilla er av fargene som alltid finnes på treningstøy til jenter. Jenter liker å være jenter – i alle fall de fleste av oss.  Sant skal sies at skjørtet fikk ligge litt i skapet før jeg tok det med på tur, og det er vel ikke treningsplagget jeg griper først etter. Frykten er vel å bli sett på, som nettopp ”en jåle.” Behageligheten er det er det virkelig ingen ting å si på, og i grunnen syntes jeg det er ganske fint med et tøystykke som skjuler rompa mi fra de som løper bak, selv om jeg ser aldri så jålete ut. Deilig å la bena få hvile litt. I morgen venter en langtur – lenger enn jeg noen gang har løpt – 27,35km. Det blir en utfordring. Jeg har begynt å tvile litt på tidene mine, virker liksom for godt til å være sant, så jeg har laget en løype på kartet som skal være 28,2km (eller en kortere versjon, 25,5km). Håper det viser seg at Nike+’en min er ’korrekt’ – fra i morgen slipper jeg i alle fall å lure! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Bikram Yoga i dag var deilig, men jeg slet mye med kramper. Både hofter, ankler og lår var veldig kranglete – så nå heller jeg innpå med diverse elektrolytter, og håper at det hjelper. For øvrig sa læreren min at det kunne være lurt å drikke salt.. Jeg som akkurat har klart å kutte ned (nesten ut) på mitt brus inntak.. Hmm… burde jeg ta opp vanen igjen, kanskje kroppen savner saltet? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Følte meg helt kaputt da jeg løp i parken. Det var over 30 grader, høy luft fuktighet, og jeg startet altfor fort. Så da jeg skulle løpe fem intervaller á 15 sek i oppoverbakke, måte jeg bruke hver minste lille kraft jeg hadde igjen i kroppen - trodde jeg. Kunne jo ikke slutte slik, så jeg løp rolig i 2km etterpå, bare for å få litt glede ut av løpingen – det hjalp. Da jeg kom hjem, og gikk jeg ned i gymmen for å fullføre med litt styrke, slo det et deilig slag av kald AC luft i mot meg, så tenkte jeg skulle gi bena en (1) rolig kilometer på møllen. Det føltes så bra, så jeg fortsatte litt til. Da var klokken ca ”sju”, så jeg har god tid tenkte jeg – skulle ikke på yoga før 9.45 - tok det med ro og koste meg. Klokken ”åtte” gikk jeg opp for å få i meg litt mat før yogaklassen, da jeg til min forferdelse så at klokken var ni – klokken på gymmen var feil. Yoga eller ikke yoga tenkte jeg… Hmm… Yoga, og det ble det. 90min med herlige Bikram Yoga. Jeg gruet meg veldig, for var ikke sikker på hvordan kroppen ville reagere siden det var en stund siden sist, og siden jeg i tillegg kom rett fra gymmen. Men kroppen var sterk, og jeg er godt fornøyd med dagens innsats.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Da sier jeg natta, nå skal jeg ha litt velfortjent søvn, og i morgen skal jeg gi meg selv gleden av å sove lenge… helt til 8.30! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Løp 1:&lt;br /&gt;      Km: 8,55&lt;br /&gt;      Tid: 39’44”&lt;br /&gt;      Følte meg: &amp;$#%&amp;!!!&lt;br /&gt;Løp 2:&lt;br /&gt;      Km: 3,51&lt;br /&gt;      Tid: 17’10”&lt;br /&gt;      Følte meg: Helt super! ☺&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ps. Etter at jeg begynte med yoga, ble både løpingen og kroppen bedre enn så lenge jeg kan huske... Dessverre har jeg ikke vært så flink til å gå på yoga i det siste, og derav min dårlige samvittighet... For en gangs skyld var det tiden, og ikke distansen som sto i fokus, siden jeg måtte rekke skolen i løpet av en noenlunde begrenset tid. Allikevel ble det en utrolig idyllisk tur; solen skinte fra blå himmel, temperaturen sted mot 30-tallet,  parken blomstret, og vinden blåste en lett bris med duften av nyklippet gress. Mmmm… en god fornemmelse av sommer. Me like!! Du ser jo hvor vakre bildene er, selv om fotografen ikke tok seg veldig god tid… &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Strekningen gikk greit, men kjenner at kroppen er sliten og stiv, og jeg trenger derfor litt hjelp av Bikram Yoga for å komme meg ovenpå igjen. Skulle jo gå i dag, men på grunn av skolearbeid rakk jeg dessverre ikke det. Målet er å gå i morgen kveld i stedet. (Får se hvor sent det blir på internship.) Klokken 10.20 snøret jeg på meg løpeskoene, og tok en tur i Central Park. Var litt skeptisk til mørket og parken i starten, men det var godt med politi og mosjonister selv såpass sent, så det var ikke noe problem. I tillegg så lyste månen vakkert opp. Kjempe deilig å få litt ro og frisk luft før leggetid. &lt;br /&gt;Jeg gjorde så godt jeg kunne med intervallene, men hadde ikke så mye ekstra krutt – kjenner godt at jeg er ”mølle-trent” når det kommer til både hurtighet og oppoverbakker, men med trening og tålmodighet, så kan det bare gå en vei.
