Demi Lovato Inspired Style

Well, I have a confession. I actually used to not like Demi Lovato. When she first stepped out on the "scene" in Disney's little TV series As The Bell Rings and then got her break out role in Camp Rock she defiantly wasn't my favorite actress. To me, even in just her acting she seemed just a little to fake and seemed to be hiding something.
Then after her break down, she finally came clean and told everyone what she has been going through and she got help. This was when I started to respect her. She finally started to show her true colors, no matter how scared or damaged they may be.
I respect her and now consider her a role model to me, for more personal reasons than just fashion.
I also have just loved her style and body confidence since she has been out of rehab. She's doesn't seem scared now.
Now she is not my personal style now but, I did used to love this style and played up my own version of the punk rock, black, indie-esque style. Although her style, more specifically her friend Hanna Beth, is my target market customer I tend to design my clothes around.

So here are just a few pieces of clothing I found on polyvore (check it out for more information on each individual garment) so you can mix and match to get her style, or just grab a couple pieces to incorporate into your own personal style, like I tend to do.

Relax!!

So I figure that I would do a segment on my relaxation, since I am in desperate need to do so now and I've noticed a lot of people don't take the time to do so. I know from personal experience I tend to keep going and stressing. So some of the times you need to schedule some time to just relax. And here are some of my things I do to relax and keep myself well at least somewhat sane lol.

Turning of my phone, laptop, ipad basically just removing myself from the world for about 10-20min.

I am also very big on candles and having them lite give my apartment a calming feeling.

I love taking bubble baths and just listening to music and laying down for a little bit in the warm water. I like to get really nice smelling bubble bath to put in a hand full of bath salts or bath balms from Lush.

Drink hot tea, I am currently in love with Trader Joe's Pomegranate White Tea with some Honey.

Lastly I like to use face-mask's

So take some time and relax. Also check out Lush they have some awesome bath products. But if Lush is out of your price range (I know it's pretty steep) then look into other places like Bath and Body Works, Ulta, and even The Dollar Store. Yes I have bought some bath salts from the dollar store and they work very well. So finally get off the computer and take sometime to truly relax. Which is exactly what I plan on doing right now after this busy week into weekend into the crazy monday I had today.

Sooooo it's been about a week since I have posted anything, sorryyy :( I've been super busy. Valentines day was really nice. I've had a bunch of homework and school work to catch up on (which I am still doing), I also got accepted into the college I will be getting my second degree at after I graduate in the summer, and I got an internship!!! So as anyone can see it's been a very exciting and busy. So I now really need to get back to working on more homework. You everyone has a great Sunday and having more fun than I am right now, lol!

Olivia Palermo Style

So I have always loved Olivia Palermo's style. I obviously love style that is very classy, simple and trendy. You can probably tell because I feel Alexis Bledel (post of her style I did) has a similar type of style as Olivia. Although all of these pictures I got were ones of her more casual outfits. She is always going to partys and fashion shows, so she dose dress nicer a lot of the times as well. But always keeping a very classic look for herself. Here is my take on her style.

Mix & Match

As I said a couple days ago, I am now posting different says to pair different patterns and textures. Normally this is a scary thing for some people. But don't worry all you have to do is fallow the rule of thumb that I follow. Match patters you are mixing through colors that go together. Also when pairing patterns together make sure the sizes are different in the patterns.

As you can see all the bigger patters are paired with with smaller ones like the orange stripped dress and the smaller zig-zag striped on the cardigan.

You can also do this very simply by using the different pattern in your shoes.

So this week, there were actually really nice days. It was beautiful out. Hence all of the pictures outside and the passion fruit or whatever kinda fruit iced tea I got from Starbucks and ice cream. So today is Super Bowl 46 Patriots vs Giants. I am going to be watching it while finishing up homework and playing along with the new app I just got called Viggle. You get points for the TV you watch and when you accumulate enough points you can exchange them for gift cards, money, gifts, basically anything! It's pretty awesome. Well have a good day!

Spring Must Haves

These are just a couple of my favorite things that I will be shortly starting to look for, in my spring wardrobe. Check out my polyvore for more of the detailed information on what I have shown above and to check out any other of my posts on their.

-Stripes are defiantly a must. Think nautical. I think every spring this is a style always repeated but always looked forward to by everyone. I just love wearing stripes with blue shorts and flats, something very simplistic and Americana about it.

-Knee Length Skirts are getting big. Now they don't have to be exactly knee length in my opinion. I think ones that come a little above the knee or a little below are perfect! And so easy to pair with a simple shirt. Also if you get a nice big flowing skirt it will keep you cool.

-Crochet has become very big. It's on everything now! Shorts, shirts, heels, flats, bags, jewelry. I say run with this trend. I don't think it's going to be something big and trendy for very long but for now, why not use it? And I bet in a few years time the crochet style will be back again.

-Kitten Heels, are sooo much more comfortable to wear than regular heels! I'm actually really happy that these are back in style. I love getting that little extra boost in height without having to kill my feet! They still look sexy and classic. My professor quoted Karl Lagerfeld a couple weeks ago about kitten heels being the next big thing in shoes.

-Now obviously you will always need your rain boots and umbrella for the spring. Come on it's always raining.

-Patterns and the mixing of patterns. Don't be afraid to wear patterns on your shorts like the ones I have shown above and then wearing a small pin stripe blouse with it. The type to keep in mind when using two different patterns it make sure the colors are around the same and the print sizes aren't the same. (I will be doing a post on how to mix patterns shortly, keep posted.)

Okay so this week has been crazy. Been doing a lot for my mini collection, my bridal portfolio and I have been trying to become more intellectual in the culinary world lol.

First off I love POM green tea. it's just the best, as well as the whole wawa every size of coffee is $1... well actually $1.06 with tax, but it's okay. I love my daddy, he always send me me random encouraging texts and I love it! It really helps to know that he's proud of me. That burger, yes I made it from scratch! It was really nervous cause I never made one before in my life and I just played it by ear while making it but it turned out to be quite delicious! And then there is me modeling my YSL lipstick that I am soooo in love with, ahh. CARMEL MACCHIATO's save my life! And my professor shared with us the line up for Fashion Week, I saw Timo Weiland and was soo excited! Next is my outfit I made a couple months ago for class, the hems aren't finished in the pic but yepp. And who doesn't love to relax and eat a bunch of grapes, or blueberries, or strawberries.. sorry I'm a fruit fanatic. Well I hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday.

Timo Weiland has been one of my favorite designers for a long time now. Ever since Timo Weiland and Alan Eckstein created this brand and it was just neck wear, and also Timo! Wallets. I have always admired their style and designs. I have been noticing that their reputation has been building more and more recently and I am really happy it is. One day my dream is to own one of my own dresses from Timo Weiland.

Howdy everyone! So This is what I am wearing today. Last night I finally got to see some of my friends I haven't seen in a while. One was because he went to Hong Kong for a month. And when I saw he him gave me this necklace that he got for me while over there.

Now I am in love with this necklace. Defiantly is right up my ally of things I love. I love skulls and interesting pieces of clothing and accessories. It was so cute too. It comes wrapped in a plastic bag and you have to rip open the top. It was like opening up a bag of nuts I get from Trader Joes, lol!

As of the rest of my outfit. I am wearing the same shoes I wore yesterday. Yeah I know! Crazy right? haha. I am also wearing my plain black sweater from H&M. A black cami from H&M and Jeans from American Eagle.
My lips have on a nude lipstick by Laura Geller called Berry Banana.

Wellp I hope everyone has a great rest of their day. Sadly it is supposed to rain today where I am at and I have a bunch of homework to do.

So today, was a really lovely winter day. It really was a prefect day. I think with all the pinks I was wearing and how beautiful it was outside I was really trying to channel Spring. Hah I can't wait till winter is over and spring will be arriving. Or maybe just because Valentines Day is coming up.

I had classes, had a bunch of things to talk to my different advisers about. Finished up some homework. Went shopping for a bunch of things in my apartment. Oh and by the way don't mind the box in the back ground. I also has some friends come over who I haven't seen since before Christmas break because we all have just been sooooo busy, hah.

Basically a good day. Soon I am going to be needing to go to NYC for some fabric and to visit a friend of mine up there. So watch out, NY I might be on my way.

Wellp, been awhile since I did this. But this is basically what has been going on lately through my world of Instagram. This first picture on the upper left is my amazing awesome avacado and mozzarella grilled cheese I made. Next me showing my appreciation for Joe Pa, I used to go to Penn State so I still have that certain Penn State pride for the amazing football coach and man that he was. Next is from a new Youtuber I just found watch it she's hilarious (My Drunk Kitchen).

Middle left row is of my awesome cookies I got from my mommy! Then I Karl Laugerfeld'ed my little cousin, it's a really fun app, check it out. (Net-A-Porter Karl) Ahhh again I love bubble baths!

Oh and then on the bottom left is my cute little robot love window for Valentines Day. The last two are because of snow. It snowed the other night and then I realized I have nothing but cheese and pizza sauce to eat in the fridge. Sad. Don't worry I didn't starve, lol.

Alexis Bledel Style

I haven't done a look-a-like style in a while and from being sick and my mom getting me all new DVD's of all the Gilmore Girls seasons. I have always loved Alexis Bledel and her style so in honor of me being on the sixth season of my Gilmore Girls marathon since Christmas.

I absolutely love her style. Very simple, stylish, modern. I even liked her hair when she went blond (upper small picture on the right). When I was younger and watched Gilmore Girls while it was still on TV I always would use that show as my inspiration for my style. Even still, I use her style as a lot of my inspiration in even my designs.

Valentines Day Outfits

Here are just some ideas of outfits to wear for Valentines day or even there are appropriate for spring which will be coming up in the next couple months. Personally it's not my style to start shopping for spring now, but if it's something I can actually wear now and bundle up in a scarf, jackets and hats when leaving my place.

Sooo... because this week is the first week of my new classes I have been overloaded with projects! Yippy! Wellp for one of my classes I will be doing about seven different bridal collections and so I am posting a bunch of different Vera Wang bridal dresses from some of the collections on her website.

I absolutely love Vera Wang's bridal. She is the reason I ever was interested in going into bridal in the fashion industry. The pictures alone don't do any of them justice the best part is actually watching the models walk on the runway in them, and if I ever get the privilege to see them in person I bet I would just be in aw.

Hello guys! Ahh it's been so long since I posted anything last, sorry. I've been feeling guilty this whole time. I even had this whole idea of different things I would post everyday on my blog starting January first. But sadly I have left my laptop at home, and currently I am still out for "vacation" with my family. I now have finally gotten to a computer I am allowed to use and I am updating with a holiday, if you would like to call it that, that I actually already bought some decorations for in my apartment. Yepp that's right Valentines Day!
In about 6 weeks it will be that time of love and I figure why not get a head start and post something for it. Since everything else I was going to do now has to be on hold. So here it is, my own playlist dedicated to Valentines Day and all the people in love this year.

She's Got You High-Mumm Ra: I first heard about this song from my snooping around through a bunch of different artists online and happened to find it. I then noticed it's in the movie 500 Days Of Summer!

Do You Realize??-The Flaming Lips: Now I have been listening to The Flaming Lips for a longg time now it seems. My dad has always played their music, and this was just always my favorite by them!

Do You Remember-Jack Johnson: Now one of my guilty pleasures is getting ready in the morning (normally alone) while BLASTING John Mayer radio, and singing every song as loud as possible. Mhmm and this is one of the songs that always seems to find it's way onto Pandora when I listen to it. It's pretty cute.

I Want to Hold Your Hand-The Beatles: Who doesn't love The Beatles and their music!? This and 'Hey Jude' were actually two of their songs that my family had on our karaoke machine we had as I was growing up.

First Day of My Life-Bright Eyes: Ah, I love Bright Eyes! and the music video is really cute too! It's nice to see in the video that anyone can fall in love with anyone, and that it really doesn't discriminant between race or gender or anything. Everyone can love and be loved. I have the music video of it linked on the title.

Falling into You- Mae: I've always loved the band Mae, and in their ablum (a)fternoon they have this instrumental song. I absolutely LOVE this song, I find it to be beautiful. Now I've never told anyone this before but is has to do with the reason I picked this for the Valentines Day playlist. Now I'm not the kind of girl who ever though about getting married and dreamed up her perfect wedding ever, I never even though about the wedding dress. But when I heard this I knew that I if I ever do get married I want this to be played as the music I walk down the isle to.

Such Great Heights-The Postal Service (or Iron & Wine version): This is defnatly a song that has been used in different movies and TV shows like The Garden State and Grey's Anatomy.

Love Song-The Cure (or the Adele version) Gahh, such a good song. Again my dad had this song in his library, by The Cure, and I would always listen to it.

Somewhere Only We Know-Keane: This song really is great because I know a lot of different couples, and me having my own relationships from first had experience I know there are those times were it seems like it would just be better to leave and go someplace only you two know because everyone else can just be so annoying sometimes, especially when they put in their two cents about how your relationship should be going lol.

Here In Your Arms-Hellogoodbye: Okay, Hellogoodbye was my favorite band when I was a freshman in high school. I LOVED shimmy shimmy quarter turn and touch down turn around! This is one of their more famous love songs, as well as Oh! It Is Love, but I just loved this music video cause I thought it was cute, and this happens to just remind me of my first boyfriend I ever had! Hah! It's interesting how things end up turning out later on in life.

Vanilla Twilight-Owl City: I saw Owl City in concert, and being right up front it was amazing! He played this song and Saltwater Room and I couldn't really decide which one I wanted in the playlist but Vanilla Twilight won! :)

Now there are a couple of love songs in the last playlist I made (Blogger Playlist) that could also be used in this, but I wanted to use all different songs this time.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone. I hope everyone is have a wonderful day no matter what you are celebrating right now. Me, I just finished "playing" with some of my new "toys" like the remmington curling wand, Itunes gift card, a bunch of new clothes and makeup. Now I'm getting ready to watch A Muppet's Christmas Carol aka my FAVORITE Christmas movie and eat some yummy food!!

I just thought I'd post a bunch of Christmasy pictured so far, some I've used before I know. But i just love them so much! Some pictures are of my travels going back to my parents, the Christmas tree, presents I wrapped, gingerbread house I made, and just because I love the flowers so much I put them on here again as well as my advent calender app and a couple Christmasy things from the new game I am addicted to on my Iphone, Tiny Tower! (It's free you should check it out)

DIY: ombre hair

Okay, so how do you ombre hair? Well good question.
I will take you step by step on how to ombre hair.
(you can also do this to dark/brown hair I did this to my hair.
you can see it in a couple of my pictures i have of myself in earlier posts)

get the products. you will need a bleaching kit, brush, tub/shower head, blow dryer, towels and shirt that you don't care get's dye on it. (i got this bleaching kit at target-$10)

brush hair then follow directions for hair bleaching kit

part hair in center and split hair in two sections.

put on gloves and put dye on hair up to were you want the gradation to start.

put both sections of hair together and blend hair dye all through out were you want the gradation. The arrow represents were I put the hair dye up to on my sister's hair. (she already had am ombre hair which it why it looks so light on the bottom.)

leave in for about 20-25 min

wash out dye using shampoo and towel dry then if necessary to speed up the process blow dry hair on cool.

after hair is all dry. put gloves back on and put dye down further on the hair. this is where the hair will be the lightest. The arrow represents where I put the dye second time on my sisters hair.

now you can add any extra dye in your hair where you want it to be lighter. My sister asked if I could put some in her hair around her face and in her bangs. basically to frame her face better.

remember when putting the dye in your hair it doesn't have to be perfect. I actually suggest not trying to make it look perfect because it looks better with out putting as much effort into it. more natural.

leave in for about 25-30 minutes.

wash out with shampoo and the conditioner they put in the bleaching kit.

lastly, blow dry hair and style the way you want it. I've noticed that you can see the ombre in the hair better with straight hair rather than curly.

I know the one on the left isn't a great picture but it is one on her before the ombre,

and the one on the right is after the ombre.

So to get into more of the holiday spirit I thought I would post some Christmasy things.

Yepper-doodle I celebrate Christmas.

The first picture is of the Christmas tree in my parents house. Sadly this year we can't put on a lot of ornaments because out new kitten keeps climbing up the tree, and we can't have all the ornaments falling when were not home. But I still believe it looks pretty nice.

The second picture is of my stocking at the fireplace, along with the rest of my families following behind it. Yepp first born gets you first stocking in my household. And I just love the classic plain red velvet stocking. :)

Lastly I am posting my absolute favorite Christmas song. Baby, It's Cold Outside-Bing Crosby & Doris Day. That and the one from the movie Elf soundtrack are my favorite versions. This has always been one of my favorites. Two of my other favorite Christmas songs is Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time-Paul McCartney and Last Christmas-Wham!
