I purchased this really unique decorative diffuser set from Fruits & Passion.

I absolutely adore lovely fragrances in the home and was looking for something to spruce up my condo. It’s quite a cute little set consisting of a ceramic pot and some paper leaves in the shape of herbs, instead of the traditional reed look.

These herb sprigs absorb the liquid fragrance from the bottom of the pot and diffuse the scent into the air via capillary action. Cool hey?

I really love the Lime Zest and Cyrpress scent! The tangy lime zest and woody cypress notes is so fresh and crisp for your kitchen.

Best part was that it was easy to set up, but I would say that the worst part is that the leaves are extremely delicate and got ruined in the process of moving houses. The scent is extremely fragrant (LOVE) but it used up very quickly (BOO). You can purchase refills of the oil for $12.00 and should last you 4-6 weeks.

You might have noticed my absence on the web lately. It’s quite a strange thing for me because I’ve grown up with computers my whole life and I am quite the geek. I tend to spend a lot of my free time on them and so I guess you could say – I could not live without the internet or a computer.

Recently, my baby died. That is, my Lenovo laptop which was not just my companion, but my lover. Haha. Seriously – I loved my lappy to death that I think I foolishly (and unknowingly at the time) overworked the poor fella and one day it just died. The internal fan must’ve gave out and if I were to use webcam/watch a video/any sort of extra processing work – my laptop would turn off. I didn’t realise then that it was overheating so again, illogically and un-wisely I would turn the laptop back on immediately and I probably caused some major irrevocable damage.

That is to say that all of this is guess work here. I don’t really know what happened to my computer without doing a complete analysis and autopsy of whatever is left of it but looking back – it just seems so obvious that I caused the machine to self-destruct.

Dear my sweet Lenovo baby, I apologize for mistreating you over all these years but we’ve had a lot of good times. But worse, I apologize for misplacing you with a Macbook.

That’s right. Last Saturday I got so fed up with not having a computer I went to the Apple store and just bought the damn thing. And I know I said I hate Apple and yada yada yada but at the same time, I realise that I was being stubborn. I thought about all them HOTMAIL users who refuse to make the jump to the more obviously better GMAIL and think they’re just as pathetic as I was being. Of course, they are worse because making the jump from hotmail to gmail is painless and best yet – FREE and the only difference of making the jump is your email workflow.. but still stubborn nonetheless.

I am quite the Google lover. I know there are a lot of them Apple lovers too (who I despise because in their eyes Apple can do no wrong). Apple this, Apple that. Bleh bleh bleh. Sickening. But I had to think that I had nothing to say for it because I don’t have a MacBook to know. All I knew is that my brother has a MacBook and it frustrated me to hell. But again, I was probably just being stubborn and impatient.

So in an attempt to stop being stubborn and open my eyes to the world, I decided to give the MacBook a go for all that is worth and see if it will improve my workflow because I sure to hell know that my Lenovo frustrated me enough as well with all them damn random crashes. I was also really hesitant because even though everybody I know has been saying that Apple has been much more reliable for them than the PC – when I posed the question to the guys at the Apple Store they attributed reliability to the ability for one to purchase a 3 year warranty program (Apple Care) for $279. His words: “The Apple Care Protection Plan is the difference in what makes a happy Mac user”. Annoying.

So how is it? Well it’s been alright so far. I bought the base 13″ model for CAD $1,249 + 13% tax. I like that it’s thin and light and much less bulky than my old lappy. It’s a lot more portable for sure and travelling would be much more of an ease. The physical look of it is sleek and modern. Installing programs is very easy and best of all – clean. The worst thing about Windows was when you uninstall a program and you end up with all these trailing files and you just think WTF – why can’t it just rid every trace of the piece of garbage, but it just won’t go away. Or the Windows load time is another drag but the MacBook loads up pretty quickly. Battery life is pretty good so far especially considering my old one was supposed to last me 6 hours but only lasted something like 45 minutes. The OS on the Mac has a nice interface and a pretty screen. My photos look all the more nicer and vibrant and sharp. At the moment I’m still frustrated because all my work flows have changed (some not for the better).

Over all it’s been good, but I’m still yet to discover why one would love this thing as much as the typical Mac user would. It’s still a mystery to me but may come to me in due time. As you may have noticed already, I’m not one to be easily swayed.
