My Journey to Healing
and My Journey as a Healer

On January 10, 2004 I was diagnosed with a supposedly “incurable” dis-ease called Multiple Sclerosis (M.S.). The variation of Multiple Sclerosis in which I was diagnosed with is called Relapse-Remitting in which there seem to be periods of exacerbation and remission. I have come a very long way in dealing with the various challenges of this neurological disorder.

All the physicians of traditional western medicine that I’ve encountered so far have encouraged me to take a variety of pharmaceuticals ranging from interferon drugs to chemotherapy, all of which have severe and sometimes even lethal side effects. They all seem to think that I possess a dangerous and rapidly progressive form of Multiple Sclerosis and have insisted I take actions that are just as assertive to slow its progression. Of course the potential side effects of all these drugs, many of which must be taken by way of needle injection, have always sparked a resistance within me to comply.

Unfortunately, in response to my obvious hesitation I’ve had neurologists attempt to scare me into compliance. They have scripted the possibility of me suffering an extreme physically handicapped future if I did not take the various drugs they were trying to push. I was informed that without taking the pharmaceuticals within just a couple of years I could expect possible “paralysis from the waist down” or maybe even death.

It has been very difficult to maintain a positive outlook while having so many medical experts, specialized in treating this particular auto-immune neurological disorder, give me such doomsday predictions. Even still, I made the choice to do my best in choosing love, faith and fearlessness to pull me through by using alternative, holistic, and natural treatments and therapies. Undoubtedly, I still strive daily for total, complete, and permanent remission and an absolute healing from all dis-ease.

Even still, much of my work in self-healing has proven to be very effective. My physicians continue to express amazement at the state of health I seem to be experiencing despite the resulting information that their medical tests have shown. Recently, one of my neurologists stated that given the results from my last MRI it is a wonder to him that I am even walking at all. He went on to express that he just feels that in my youthful age of almost 38 years, my body evidently must simply be quite resilient. Although I continued to intently listen to his medical report and opinion in silence, in my mind and with a joyful heart I exclaimed praises and gratitude to The Most High for it all…!

When going through very challenging times I have learned to do my best to nurture the sometimes extremely small seeds of faith that I have with prayer and meditation. I also do my best to place an extremely passionate focus upon helping others to heal themselves. Amazingly, I have found that helping others provides valuable information, useful resources, necessary encouragement, and positive energy which seem to benefit me and my situation immensely as well.

Blissfully, experience has taught me that my abilities to spiritually counsel others are actually quite adept. Many friends and associates have graciously testified to the positive effect my spiritual counsel, combined with my insight as a psychic medium, and the work I do as a holistic healer has had in helping them facilitate their own natural and innate ability within to heal themselves, their relationships, and their lives.

11:11:11 ~ Portal to 2012

11:11:11 is a most unusual and mystical date for many reasons.
Here are three I would like to share with you . . .

11:11:11 is opening a portal to the dynamic energies of 2012.

What you focus upon and experience at this time will initiate a process, setting you upon a path, that will align you with your Soul’s intention for being alive at this amazing time on the Planet.

Please note that this portal will be opened and stay open, into 2012, from now forward, and particularly each day at 11:11. Spending even a few moments at those times (as you are able to) will continue to open you to and strengthen your connection to this energy. You can use the Yin Approach at 11:11 p.m. and the Yang Approach at 11:11 a.m.

In essence, as you attune to this portal, you will be setting yourself on the path towards the higher expressions of energies that will be available next year, in 2012.

Secondly, 11:11:11 is a a set of triple master numbers. Eleven is a number of illumination and when vibrating this powerfully 11 can reveal to you the path and direction you are now ready to take in your life. This can be a most illuminating experience, as this is the path that is indeed exactly right for you at this time (and into 2012) and has been laid out for you long ago. Yet it is now, as we enter this most important phase of humanity’s awakening, that you are ready to do what it is you intended this lifetime (or to take to another level what you are doing now) that will fulfill the agreement you made with your Soul (we do make agreements with our own Soul.)

Neptune has a major influence now and in fact resonates with the number eleven. When we call Neptune forth, which indeed we can do, we are better able to reside and be with these subtle, yet powerful energies present now as Neptune can help to align us with them.

Lastly, eleven represents the World of Spirit and the World of Matter, and more specifically the constant exchange of energy that exists between these worlds and is symbolically represented in the space between the “1’s” of the number eleven. This is normally quite difficult to perceive… something like trying to watch your eyes move in a mirror or seeing what is in the blind spot of your rear view mirror. It is usually outside our normal perception.

Many images may come to mind as you attuned to this space between the worlds. Here are some of them: Birthing; doorways; pathways; having a vertical stance with our feet the on the Earth and hands reaching for the sky; connecting Heaven and Earth; being a witness to the creative forces that seek expression in your life.

Some ideas as to how to be with the energies present on 11:11:11:
(and beyond—see above)

· If you do not know you destiny or path, call it forth at this time.

· Say an invocation declaring that you are ready to know your purpose as it can only express through you. This may set in motion a difficult yet exciting time…one you were made for.

· Call forth new potential to come through you and for new opportunities to present themselves in your life.

· Declare “I am ready”.

· Allow preconceived notions of how you thought it would look or be fall away once you have invoked these things, and especially between now and 2012.

· We are in the 45 days before the Winter Solstice (Summer in the Southern hemisphere). This is the time to go deep within so you can retrieve all that is planted within you for your coming journey ahead. Think of it as a gathering of your resources and an opening to your innate knowing of what it is you are here to do at this time.

It may seem that things are chaotic and yet this is just as it should be as much is happening within you now. You have consented to being a vehicle for the exchange of Spirit and Matter, and this will set many things in dynamic motion as new life is emerging within you.

The Yin and the Yang Approach…

Surrender to the process…

Engage the energies.

At this time, on 11:11:11, there is a portal open that will allow you to enter this sacred place where you can have a foothold in both worlds. This will allow you to become a more conscious part of the exchange of energy that takes place (all the time) between Spirit and Matter. It occurs to me that there are two ways we can experience this, which I am calling the “Yin” and the “Yang” Approach.

The Yin Approach is where you surrender to the energies present and are receptive and become a witness to this exchange. This can be a most mystical experience as you may sense or feel the energies actually move around, and perhaps even through, you. As you breathe in, hold your breath just a moment and surrender to the intake of the breath you just took, allowing the life force to penetrate and engulf you.

Second, with the Yang Approach, you are more dynamically involved, seeking to invite in and even direct the energies in some way. Here you are a co-creator with the energies present as they move between the Worlds of Spirit and Matter. As you breathe out, and before you inhale, state that you are a co-creator with the energies that are entering you upon your intake of air. Affirm that you are a vehicle for the fundamental creative power of the Universe.

Both are completely valid ways to engage with this portal where Spirit and Matter meet, and that are being held open in sacred and mysterious ways at this time. Having either the Yin or the Yang exchange of energies with the co-mingling of Spirit and Matter, even if it only lasts seconds, could change you forever, as you now have, planted in your consciousness and your body, an experience of what it is to co-exist in and with the higher dimensions.

We have all heard the familiar phrase: “If Life gives you lemons – make lemonade!” The power of positive thinking has long been a highly prized policy for many successful people. If you want success in life then the time is NOW to take that notion of thinking positively more seriously – don’t you think?

Examine your life and look back.
More than likely you will begin to piece it all together just to realize that everything you did –whether the outcome was perceived as being ‘good’ or ‘bad’– began with a particular frame of mind and train of thought. The thought pattern you held yesterday was the input of positive or negative energy that created what is today now real in your life. And it’s that simple. Thoughts become things. So change your thinking and change your reality.

First, be absolutely honest with yourself.
Take note of everything: from your body’s weight on that scale to the amount of money you’ve got in your pocket; from the kind of social interaction you experience with friends and family to the type of relationship you have with your significant other; from the employment situation you’ve accepted to invest your time in every day to the place you lay your head down to rest and call home. If you find that there is anything –and I mean anything– in your life that does not spark for you a serious feeling of complete satisfaction and peace deeply on the inside of your very being – and IF you truly want to change yourself and/or your life situation so that it does – at some point you must take note and be totally accountable for what your mind has created.

Truth is: You somehow have to start getting your mind
to work for you rather than against you.

So, no doubt, the next question you may ask is: “How do I do that? How do I change my way of thinking?” Answer: You must believe… –no!– You’ve got to KNOW that “a positive mental attitude supported by affirmations will achieve success in anything." An affirmation is a positive statement or declaration, often without support or reason that something exists or is true. Next, you may wonder: How do I do this ‘Affirmation Thing’ then? -Right? Okay, I’ll break it down for you even further.

Real Talk: You have to hypnotize yourself.
It works and it’s not even hard to do.
Repeating the same words over and over again has a major impact on your brain. Repetitive words can literally program not only a habitual way of thinking or be-ing but a habitual way of DO-ING as well. You are what you Think so – get your mind right! Build a Better NOW. Begin to repeat affirmations or positive words and phrases on a regular daily basis and you will notice how your life will gradually take a turn for the better.

Traditionally, the meaning of the name implies the character and attributes of the individual, something to live up to. In the case of Nashville-based emcee, singer, poet, and spiritualist IAYAALIS, understanding her name is critical to understanding who she is, what she is about, and why she does what she does. “The name IAYAALIS is an acronym that stands for I Am You Are And Love IS,” she says. “Basically it’s a formula by which I live.”

Born Donalda Antonia Chandler, IAYAALIS has earned recognition (i.e. “made a name for herself”) as one of the most talented and versatile artists on the Nashville music scene. Betty Turney-Turner's fascination with stained glass dates back to when she was a little girl attending church. She admits that plenty of times she paid more attention to the stained glass windows than to the message being delivered.

"I loved the way the sun would make the colors land on the pews," she says. "It was alive. There was movement in it."

Today Turney-Turner is one of a small handful of artists in the United States who depict African-American experiences in stained glass. Her images range from soulful jazz bassists to African women balancing baskets of fruit on their heads.

Her work, along with 11 other local artists, will be on display Saturday at the Ha Factory Gallery & Lounge downtown as part of the inaugural Rebirth of Black artist showcase. The event, which will coincide with the First Saturday Art Crawl, is being organized by the Nashville Black Artists Renaissance 12, a cooperative that aims to showcase the talents of area African-American artists.

Jeff Obafemi Carr, a commissioner with the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission, says it's difficult to find large collections of African-American art in Nashville, and he says he hopes this show will help fill that void.

"To my knowledge, there hasn't been a coming-together of this level in a couple of decades," says Carr, who isn't involved with the show. "There is a whole lot of talent here. It's operated off of the radar of the mainstream. I've seen some of the artists' work, and it will make you angry if you don't have money to buy it."

The artist showcase will feature 36 pieces, in mediums ranging from watercolor, oil, acrylic and airbrush painting to stained glass and photography.

Among the works will be pieces by James Threalkill, an artist who works primarily in oils and acrylics. Threalkill has won an Emmy for a mural that he produced with children from the Edgehill public housing community for Viacom cable network. He illustrated a children's book series called Visions: African-American Experiences that was featured on Sesame Street. And his painting Gulf Coast Sunset was seen in the Disney movie Snow Dogs.

While much of the artwork reflects African-American experiences, Threalkill says the show will appeal to everyone.

"African-American art is undergoing a rebirth," Threalkill says. "It's starting to be collected by a very diverse group across the country. More and more people are seeing the beauty in the work that we're creating. And I think parents are really trying to expose their children to the reality of the multicultural world that we live in."

Artwork in the show ranges in price from $150 to several thousand dollars. Twenty-five percent of sales will go to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee, an organization that links children in need with adult mentors.

Nashville's 'hidden treasures'

Nashville has a rich history of African-American artists.

Aaron Douglas — known as the father of African-American art and a major player in the Harlem Renaissance in the 1920s — founded Fisk University's fine arts department and taught there for nearly 30 years. Several of his murals can be seen in Cravath Hall on Fisk's campus.

Folk artist William Edmondson was the first African-American artist to be featured in a solo show at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1937. Some of the Nashville native's sculptures can be seen at the Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art.

Turney-Turner says she hopes the show will make people realize that rich history is still alive and well in the city.

"People should come out and see the hidden treasures that Nashville has had walking among them all the time," she says. "There are quite a few really talented artists that really don't have an outlet and aren't well-known." She says she hopes the show will provide an outlet for those artists.

And this is just the beginning. The cooperative plans to host similar artist showcases every quarter, with the eventual goal of monthly exhibitions. "The ultimate goal would be to have a permanent place to display," Turney-Turner says. "A place to nurture young artists and grow the art community."

Would this liberal rag run an article about "The Rebirth of White", which showcased local European-American artists? I think we all know the answer to that. When will the hypocrisy and double standards end? Why isn't it racist to harp about "Black"? We all know if this was reversed it would be considered racist. Why the difference?

Carlton....you are correct to a point. Also ask the question why "black" artist are not included in art shows showcasing european-americans. Oddly no one questions Chinese, Italian, British, Korean, Mexican or any other nationality when it comes to labeling an art form, dining experience or even race!

I have to agree with Carlton. I live in a neighborhood where I am the minority and in eight years I have lived here, have never been invited to join any artists groups since I am white. I am a teacher in the public school and teach at a title one school and have taught here in Nashville for over ten years. This is a double standard. I do back alley work and trash pick up and have done a few murals for free. I applaud these artists but don't think the quality of the product is specific to race. I think we need to appreciate and learn from each other. I am glad that my teacher friends that are white and black don't mind teaching whatever child that arrives. I moved here thinking it would be an open minded community and that I might have something to offer. I have taught free art lessons the entire time I have lived here. I have my own non profit group called, ArtsAlive and base the most of my approach to services through the concept of sharing. I have met wonderful people here where I live and I love my students and appreciate their gifts and talents.
The issue with blacks that I do applaud is that they are not in the back ground waiting to be welcomed into the arts of all sorts. They have proven themselves, and have much to be proud of and offer to the community. Their claim to fame is not the exclusion of the rest of our citys population.

I too can relate to the eye pleasing & thought stimulating effect of stained glass art. Life seems to be infused into it when the sun radiates through. What a talent to be blessed by our Creator with what enables a person , (being made in God's image as we all are), to illustrate life's moments so vivdly w/materials such as colored glass, solder and such.I very much enjoyed Claudia Pinto's descriptive and engaging article up to the point where her focus became , (and unfortunately remained), aimed towards a person's skin color ie. "Nashville Black Artists 12", African American Art, African American experiences, etc... It is commendable the Big Brother and Big Sister organizations should benefit from contributions made by those who create with their talents and gifts.
I would submit however, on behalf of our talented artists of all race and heritage backgrounds that each artist would have their efforts appraised, valued, or simply appreciated, based soley on the merit of the art alone, be it stained glass, music, writtings...
It is most dissapointing to regard the art work refferenced by Ms. Pinto in the context of the color of the artist's skin,as she does a great injustice to the artists themselve's,as well as perpetuating an unflattering and distracting observation of the art mentioned in her article as if race or skin color has anything to do with the worth or appreciation of the artist's creative ability.
I dare to extend myself further on behalf of these talented individuals (and of all races and heritage), by simply saying they want their art, their works of creative and self expression, to be valued for what IT is, not what THEY are.
If an outlet is going to be provided (as Ms. Pinto states in her article), that outlet should exclude NO artist, (especially an exclusion based on skin color or heritage) for ALL talented artists who aren't "well known".

One thing this article didn't point out very well is that this event was part of a larger Art Crawl held every Saturday. There are at least half a dozen art galleries along this stretch of 5th Ave North and many kinds of mediums and artists are displayed in the various buildings. This particular gallery was featuring African-American artists, but there were many others in the other locations. On a side note, as a Big Sister, I'd like to thank them for contributing some of the proceeds to our program. It would be great if the entire Art Crawl would consider supporting a charity each month!

An Artful Way to Rent Apartments

In the parking lot behind Castle Braid, a new rental complex in Bushwick, Brooklyn, BMWs and Volvos sit beside murals by local graffiti legends like Jesus Saves and Robots Will Kill.

The luxury cars are something of an anomaly in Bushwick, the working-class neighborhood to the east of Williamsburg that is New York’s current locus of bohemianism. Apartments at Castle Braid, named for a trimmings factory once on the site, have soaking tubs, energy-efficient appliances and Italian cabinetry. Monthly rents range from $1,700, for one-bedrooms, to $3,300 for three-bedrooms, in an area where struggling artists roost in unconverted lofts.

Drawing on Bushwick’s cachet, Castle Braid is being marketed by its developer, Mayer Schwartz, as “a world custom-built to enable the artist,” and is aimed at art lovers willing to pay Williamsburg prices to live in an area sorely lacking in both trees and retail. The graffiti murals were commissioned by Mr. Schwartz as part of Brooklyn Artillery, a six-week art fair/open house last fall that converted the 125 then-vacant apartments into temporary galleries.

The tactic appears to be working on both fronts: only two units remain to be filled, and tenants say they are trying to realize Mr. Schwartz’s vision of an artists’ utopia.

“I relate to Mayer’s desire to create a family of people here,” said Khalil Chishtee, 46, a Pakistani sculptor. Last winter Mr. Chishtee decorated the parking lot gate with a metallic collage based on the novel “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” — in which the Castle Braid factory figures prominently — after Mr. Schwartz had given him a copy of the book.

Mr. Schwartz, who also developed the Bedford Avenue miniature mall (in a former girdle factory) and the 66-unit Opera House Lofts (in a former German singing hall in Bushwick) is trying to compensate for a lack of local amenities by providing them all in one place.

Castle Braid’s U-shaped layout accommodates a recording studio, a screening room, a gym, a media lab, rentable video equipment and a lending library with more than 1,500 books and 300 DVDs — all cataloged on the building’s private social networking site. Mr. Schwartz plans to install a metal shop, a coffee bar and a ceramics studio complete with a $5,000 kiln.

Though some have called his use of art a ploy to sell apartments, Mr. Schwartz says that making a place for people to grow and enjoy themselves far outweighs any financial incentives. “A kiln is not such a big expense if it’s going to make people happy,” he said.

Castle Braid’s marketing director, Taylor Clark, a 25-year-old skateboarder and comedian who lives in another of Mr. Schwartz’s buildings, has organized a 48-Hour Short Film Festival (the winners — both residents — won six months’ rent) and a weekly comedy show with performers like Reggie Watts, who recently toured with Conan O’Brien.

Before committing to a year’s rent on a $2,500-a-month duplex, Helmut Kohli, a Swiss artist, spent weeks wandering the space. One night in February, Mr. Kohli, 49, lit the tree-filled 6,000-square-foot courtyard with 1,500 candles and a six-story torch while a number of tenants, among them a violinist for the New York Philharmonic, played Classical music.

But blurring the line between art gallery and private residences has its perils. In early June, Jinkyung Chong, an installation artist and tenant, received Mr. Schwartz’s blessing to curate a show in the lobby as part of Bushwick Open Studios. That was when a graphic nude photograph by Rafael Fuchs (titled “Nude Megillah #1” and priced at $1,800) disturbed one tenant, a mother of two young children, who eventually removed the work herself, damaging the print. Mr. Fuchs has threatened to sue Mr. Schwartz, claiming the piece is worth over $7,200.

“I told him it was wrong what he’s doing, but that I loved him anyway, as I love the whole world,” Mr. Schwartz said. But he is requiring curators to discuss any provocative art with him beforehand and sign a document stipulating that work found offensive by tenants will be removed within 24 hours.

And Mr. Schwartz admits that the cost of living at Castle Braid is out of the reach of most up-and-coming artists. “It was more intended for mature artists who have gotten somewhere in their careers,” he said.

Not everyone at Castle Braid is an artist. But “because of how we designed it,” Mr. Schwartz said, “we pulled in people who are passionate about art and want to contribute.”

Accordingly, Castle Braid, like a cutting-edge gallery opening in Chelsea, has attracted its share of young people for whom art is often a pretext for socializing. “It’s like a college dorm for me,” Jensen Lee, 20, a recent film school graduate, said in reference to the numerous in-house parties posted on the complex’s self-contained networking site.

“People ask me where I made all my friends,” said Ms. Lee, whose roommate at Castle Braid is Barry Hollywood, a 50-year-old fashion photographer. “I’m like: ‘My building. Aren’t you friends with the people in your building?’ And they’re like, ‘No.’ ”

QOTM: Question Of The Moment
What separates the victimized from the victorious?

Things that make you go ‘hmmm...’ –right?

Well, let’s put on the ‘thinking cap’ –
and start by looking at the definitions of both words –a’ight…?

• A victim is defined as an unfortunate person who suffers from some adverse circumstance;
a person who is tricked or swindled.

• A victor is defined as one who defeats an adversary;
the winner in a fight, battle, contest, or struggle.

With a first run through the meanings of these two words it’s easy to get the fact that this simply seems to be an understanding of ‘Loser -versus- Winner.’ Now, that’s a basic concept to comprehend. Most of us can testify to a fantastic time in which we experienced the thrill of being crowned the winner. Additionally, we all probably know the disappointment of loss, if not a loser or two, what that is, and how they are. But, let’s go a bit deeper… – shall we?

Once again, the true ‘Question of the Moment’ is:
What separates the victimized from the victorious?

The victim will mention what is missing. His habit is to acknowledge whatever is wrong and all that is lacking. The victim complains and blames any one and all things outside of himself for his own misery and misfortune in life. He doesn’t seem to move outside of the problem to discover the solution. Instead, the victim places himself in the struggle enough to comfortably call it “home”. Ultimately, to a point of self-identification, the victim will focus on loss.

Victory is the focus for the victorious.
Struggle is just a stepping stone to get to the win. The victorious does not waste time and energy complaining and blaming. He has better things to do – like keeping an eye on the prize and winning. The victorious knows all of life is the result of negative or positive thinking so whenever challenged the victorious stays committed to a positive outlook. Against all odds, the victorious maintains confidence while looking deep within to find the answer.

The mind is so amazingly powerful.
Perception is Reality and Reality is Perception.
So- to answer our Question of The Moment:
That which separates the victimized from the victorious is
the power of a positive perspective.

And there it is!

If you focus on losing – you will lose.
If you focus on winning – you will win.

So now knowing all this, my suggestion is for you to
focus only on the ‘good’ stuff in life if you want more of it.

Focus on the victory and be victorious.
Focus on winning and win.
Focus on the positive.

An affirmative FOCUS is what separates the victimized from the victorious.

Just to set the vibe right- I’m going to go back, y’all. Way back…!

I’m going to go even further back than that rapper Ahmad’s one and only hit single:

“Back in the day when I was young -I’m not a kid anymore-

but sometimes I sit and wish I was a kid again.”

There is just something about nostalgia –right?

And yeah-yeah~ I know I’m admitting the many years of my incarnated experience
on this planet thus far and telling on my age with some of this
- but hear me out…

Once upon a time, a long-long time ago, before the invention of CDs or the vainglorious domination of internet pirates on music downloads, during an era after the eight-track died and vinyl was still king, I recall scouting through my father’s immense music album collection. There, I delighted in the find of amazing musical treasures created by truly authentic genius of artists such as: Bootsy Collins; Funkadelic; Earth, Wind & Fire; Rufus & Chaka Khan; and Millie Jackson.

Millie was one of my favorites. The music was great. Her hooks were catchy and it was actually fun to sing along. She had this remarkable humor and woman’s wit that only now as an adult I totally get. In my dad’s incredible music collection there was this one album of Millie’s in particular that caught my eye. I recall that my attention was instantly grabbed due to the album cover. Well, actually it was the back cover of the album. The image was a close-up photograph of a huge blue toilet seat. Comically, the memorable title of that 1978 compilation was: “Get It Out'cha System.”

Happy 2011!

This is a new year and to start great new things at this time for you and yours you may realize some detox is necessary. Therefore, ultimately, to use the words of Millie, in order for you to: “Go out and get some…” you may truly need to: “Get It Out'cha System….!”

Now, Obviously I’m setting this up in order to use humor to unveil a truth but -

Real Talk:
In order to start fresh and new- wasting the worn and old is so very necessary.

Now, it often depends upon how much has been taken in, but extricating the old may occasionally be quite challenging and even painful. Resistance to change and not choosing to be centered in the eternal present is what can cause that pain. Of course there is a very human vulnerability in us all that tends to cling to what is known, familiar, and therefore comfortable. At some point in life we all may tend to cling to worn-out thoughts, used up philosophies, and exhausted or habitual ways of doing things. Past associations and all those entanglements from ‘back then when’ seem to create an intoxicating nostalgia which entices with a false notion of safety and identity. Not only that, but this odd lack of mental sobriety is the very fear that can keep one bound.

Okay.
Let me break that down just a little further in order to make my point crystal clear.

Period point blank: Letting go is essential to growth.

Sure. You can attempt to fight it - but that battle is a losing one.

If you are resisting change…? Then -yup- resistance is futile.

The IAYAAVERSE HerStory In The Making

On January 1st, 2011
i completed creating a spiritual jewelry/art project of prayer beads.

i began the project at 7 PM [CST] and
i ended my work with an “Ashe…!” at 11:33 PM.

Since the 29th of December, 2010 i had been soaking some azurite-malachite beads and copper beads in water that was infused with some sea salt and rose water. These beads were accompanied with other gemstone beads and the following gemstones:

• a small lapis lazuli egg-shaped tumble stone,
– vibrates to the number 3.

• a parallel tantric twin smoky-clear quartz crystal,

– vibrates to the number 77.

• a “Super/Sacred Seven Melody Stone” crystal,

– vibrates to the number 9.

• a pink lemurian seed quartz crystal, and

– vibrates to the number 3/7.

• a rainbow obsidian sphere.

– vibrates to the number 2.

All these items were in large purple crystal bowl that was a rare Princess House ‘Fantasia Collection’ piece my mother had gifted me for Christmas. i also grounded the bowl in an area grid of gemstones. i placed my gemstones in the following positions:

• East – an authentic Eilat stone from Israel

– vibrates to the number 1.

• West – a large 7.4 x 2.9 inch smoky clear quartz generator crystal

– vibrates to the number 77.

• North – a cluster of apophyllite crystals

– vibrates to the number 4.

• South – a cluster of amethyst crystals

- vibrates to the number 3.

Before beginning my prayers and meditations i burned sage, chandan, and sandalwood incense to clear and consecrate the entire room. Then, while sounding a set of 9 Sacred Solfeggio Tuning Forks and a set of 7 Chakra Tuning Forks, i prayed to The Most High with the intent of healing and high vibration. After i had completed my use of sacred word and gesture over the bowl of beads i busied myself with stringing the beads using stainless steel coated beading wire. There were a total of 222 beads, 111 of them were azurite-malachite gemstone beads and 111 of them copper. Both azurite-malachite and copper vibrate to the number 1 so the numerological vibration of the whole strand of prayer beads is also a total of 222. i prayed upon the beads as i added each one to the rest on the wire. Lastly, i added a copper toggle clasp that my good girlfriend Jamila had gifted me with weeks earlier.

i truly enjoyed my experience in this particular project of SpiritualWork for i know it to be a great spiritual exercise and creative project. i’m pleased to have created such a powerful tool that i feel will assist me in my meditations and prayers and will be instrumental in my magickal manifestations for this New 2011 Year.

The following is more information on the properties of azurite-malachite and copper which was the principal gemstone and mineral used in these prayer beads i created.

AZURITE/MALACHITE

Azurite-malachite is a stone supportive of insight, vision, intuition, and intellect belonging to the Third Eye (6th) and Crown (7th) chakras. Azurite-malachite combines azurite, a "stone of heaven" which awakens psychic abilities, aligns chakras, enhances creativity and assists deep meditation, with malachite, a "stone of transformation" which promotes positive response to change and spiritual evolution. It also represents fidelity in love and friendship. The combination assists in reconstruction during transformation, enhances flexibility and promotes a sense of individuality without ego.

This 6th Chakra (third eye / pineal gland) gemstone helps one to connect with spirit guides, aids in healing, meditation, and increases psychic ability. It dissolves energy blockages and negativity. Holding an Azurite crystal can help to clear the mind of unwanted or unhealthy thought forms. A bringer of truth, Azurite should be used in all business dealings and/or when one is unsure of relationships. It brings clarity and wisdom to any situation. Azurite is a great first stone to learn meditation and, being it is highly active, the effects can be felt immediately on the third eye.

If one allows Azurite to give voice to thoughts and feelings, it will support in the ability to speak of those emotions most deeply felt. When placed upon the third eye, Azurite will assist one in reaching great depths of spirituality. Azurite is a very important stone for connecting with the Higher Self or God/Goddess and angelic beings. Many use this stone to aid psychic travel and journeying. Physically, Azurite has been used for disorders of the spine, rib cage, and small bones. There has been some use for circulatory diseases as well. Being Azurite is a very ‘absorbing’ stone, it can also be used to clear toxins from the body. This can be environmental toxins as well as toxins from prescription medications. After using Azurite in a healing session, it is best to thoroughly cleanse the stone with sage or sweet grass smoke. [Do not use water as Azurite is very sensitive and has a tendency to crumble in liquids.]

As it relates to numerology, Azurite vibrates to the number 1.

Leadership is the key word for Azurite.

Gemological properties of the stone is the chemical composition: Cu3(OH)2(CO3)2, a copper hydroxyl carbonate. This mineral occurs in the monoclinic crystal system and is commonly seen in sharp lustrous crystals and nodules. The refractive index runs 1.730 and the specific gravity is 3.77. Azurite is a very soft stone, only a 3.5 on the Moe’s Scale of Hardness. The color is an intense indigo blue, in large crystals appearing almost black. The main suppliers of this stone can be commonly found in Arizona, South Australia and Mexico.

COPPER

Copper is an energizer and conductor of Divine energies onto the physical plane. Copper is a healing metal. It has long been used as a healing metal, especially for arthritis and rheumatism. Copper also has been used with blood and metabolism disorders. Copper acts as a conductor when worn on the body. It will help the healing effect of any stone when both touch the body. Copper strengthens the nerves and is good for all sorts of spasms including asthma. Additionally, Some believe that Copper will help with weight loss.

A stone of Hermes, it is associated with quick thought, witty communications and leaps of insight. Some know it also to belong to Venus. Copper is known to activate the first chakra, bringing much desire, sexuality and vitality. These energies can be directed to enhance personal growth. It allows the recognition of barriers upon one’s path. Copper has long been known as a metal of good luck. It is often used to bring positive energy to the aura.

Any stone set in copper or used with copper will have an enhanced energy field. Copper even enhances the energy of silver and gold. It is naturally found in Azurite, Malachite, Turquoise, and Chrysocolla therefore these stones are very powerful when used with copper.

I am SO excited...!
I am now Officially the writer of my own column
in a paper called Face It = http://www.thefaceit.com/

Face It is a weekly publication that is distributed every Thursday. Face It can be found in local convenience stores and gas stations throughout Middle Tennessee & Northern Alabama. Although the paper is now primarily distributed in Tennessee and Alabama – it will soon be expanding to other states. The content found in Face It is obtained from public resources and is deemed to be in the public domain.

Recently, I started communicating with a businessman who happens to be the owner of the paper and when I had a chance to see it – I was like: 'Dang!~ Though it's kind of ‘necessary’ news - it's still pretty negative to see all this information of people caught up in crime, litigation, and possible jail time.' So I asked him about the possibility of me writing a column that might enable me to release some energy of LIBERATION to counteract -or at least Balance- all the energies the publication might use in order to focus upon stories of folk facing possible incarceration. Thankfully, he was very open to the idea but he wanted me to write a sample first. So I wrote him one article and fortunately he truly appreciated it and approved!

My column will be printed weekly offering an amazing opportunity and outreach for my creative and spiritual LifeWork. In this literary project I will be providing a particular focus upon the BASICS regarding the Power of Positive Thinking and the use of Affirmations as a tool to create abundant success in life. It is my genuine intent to assist others in manifesting their Highest Dreams. The first paper featuring my column will be available
next Thursday, November 11th, 2010
