Sorry this story is late. I had an interesting week. Anyway here is the next supernatural experience. This one happened to my husband:
When my husband was about 8 years old, he and his three brothers and his mother went to stay with his grandmother for a time in Puerto Rico. His grandmother had a little house on a small plot of land. She told him that there was a story of a rich man that had buried his treasure in the yard long ago when Puerto Rico was still under Spanish colonial rule. His grandmother was told that while the house was being built, a bulldozer that was excavating in the yard kept hitting something hard under the ground. The workers thought they saw coins in the dirt a few times, but when they had turned their back on the coins they would disappear. Because the workers were very superstitious they did not search for any treasure. Instead a Coffee tree was planted along with some other trees in that area.
One day my husband and his brother were under the coffee tree playing. They started digging in the dirt and they saw coins! Quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies inside the dirt. Every time they would pull up a handful of dirt, it was full of coins. His brother ran and got a couple of pails and they filled it up with hand fulls of dirt filled coins and there was still more coins in the ground. They brought the pails to the back door, set them down, and ran in to tell their mother of what they had found. When the three of them came outside again to clean the coins, the coins were gone! The pails were filled with dirt. Not one coin in either pail. They ran back to the tree and all the coins were gone. Their mother was not surprised. The same thing had happened to her when she was a kid! True story..

Well I decided this week I was going to do something about these extra 60 lbs. I've been carrying around since my last pregnancy. I tell you the truth, I hate diets! I just love to eat. Especially sweets. I also love sweet coffee, fries with cheese, diner burgers. I just enjoy food. And not to mention I am the garbage can for the food my kids don't finish. Anyway, I am just tired of the aches and pains.
Sooooo I am going to commit myself to somersizing for a couple of months (low carb, food combining diet). I lost about 35lbs in like two months, last time I did this. I will see how it goes.

Someone on the couch

This is another story from my husband that happened when he was a teen. He and his family were living in a small 3 bedroom house in New York. There was a bathroom in the hall and you could see the living room from the bathroom door. One night at like 3 in the morning he woke up to go to the bathroom and when he came out of the bathroom he saw the back of someone sitting on the couch with a blanket wrapped around them. He called out to his father thinking it was him. No answer. Thinking his father might be asleep, he just went back to bed. The next day he asked his mother if his father had been up during the night and to his surprise she told him "no." Very spooky....

oops! I did it again

Well I said I was starting a diet last week, and I did. I am now off the diet!lol..I am just not in a place right now where I can put my time and energy and finances into a diet. Besides, I just don't buy some of this stuff about dieting. Corn was not meant to be only for livestock... I know what my problem is. I am just a glutten! That's the truth. I can't just eat a handfull of m&ms, I want the whole bag.. I am not satisfied with one or two cookies, I like 4 or 5. And then I drink my coffee and have my regular meals and sweets and next thing you know I am high as a kite on sugar... I have to learn self control, and then I can lose the weight. I find this hard because food is such a comfort for me. It's a calming thing for me in the middle of my hectic day. So anyway, I did give it a shot, but for now I will just try to cut down on my glutteny!!!

A ghost through the wall

When my brother was about 7 or 8 he went through this period of time where he started hearing and seeing things. Only him. It was pretty scary. I remember how my heart dropped every time he screamed for my mother at night. It was like he was being haunted. Superstitious people in my family said someone had put a curse on us. All I know is that It was a really scary time...
One night as he was coming down the hall to the family room where my mother, father and I were sitting, he had just turned the corner when he let out this scream. We all ran to see what happened and he said that he had heard a noise coming from the garage and that as he was coming around the corner he saw someone walk toward him through the closed door that led to the garage. Then it had disappeared.
On another occasion everyone in the family was in bed sleeping when he let out this screaming call for my mother. My parents ran to his room and I stayed frozen in my bed! He said that while he was sleeping he had felt something floating over him and whispering to him..I had a hard time falling asleep that night!
Those were the two stories that have really stuck with me. I know there were some other things, but I don't remember them right now. I'll have to ask him if he remembers... Anyway, that's it for now. Sweet dreams....

Vaccines and Autism on Oprah

I saw Oprah the other day and Jenny Mccarthy was on there talking about her new book. It's about her son being diagnosed with Autism and how she helped her son recover from it.

When Oprah asked her what she thought was the cause of her son's Autism, she mentioned ...Vaccines..She noticed a change in him after vaccinating him. I am not surprised. I wrote an article about why I chose not to vaccinate my fourth child at all. I completely vaccinated my first two children(my daughter had a serious reaction to one and minor reactions to others).My third child received about half the vaccines and finally after researching the topic I have not vaccinated my fourth child. She is now eight months old and has not had a single sickness. No cold, no ear infection, nothing!! I believe that vaccines play a strong role in asthma, eczema, and allergies. I regret giving them to my other children.

Now, I am not telling people not to vaccinate because I really believe people need to do the research for themselves. But I agree with Jenny. You need to listen to the mothers that have been through this with their own children. Mothers that know that they had a normal baby at birth, and no matter what any doctor tries to tell them, vaccines did hurt their child. Don't just believe your doctor. My doctors didn't believe that my daughter's reaction was due to a vaccine. I know it was!! I had a doctor try to use fear tactics and snide remarks to get me to give my younger son the complete vaccines. I would be lying if I said I am not a little nervous about not giving them some of the vaccines. I think that maybe when they are older and not in the prime of their mental and physical development, then maybe I will get them some of the vaccines that I think are necessary. But I don't think an infant needs a hepatitis vaccine at birth, especially when that form of hepatitis is transferred through intercourse or intravenous drug use.
When I was a child, they didn't have as many vaccines as they have now.
But as I always say, don't take my word for it. These kinds of life decisions need to be made only when a person is fully informed. My message is simply.. Inform yourself. Know all the sides and don't be fooled because someone says they are an expert. Trust your own instinct. Research,research,research. Then if you decide to vaccinate anyway, you did that fully informed and with a clean conscious.

8 things we're told that I don't believe

This is just a random list of 10 things that I have been told in my lifetime that I just don't believe, from corporations to so called "experts" I think it is a lot of bologny!!!
1."WE DON'T KEEP YOUR CREDIT CARDS ON FILE"
When you place orders for items through the mail, most companies will tell you that they don't keep your credit card number on file. Well I worked as a telephone sales rep for a company for five years and I know for a fact that they did keep the customer's credit card numbers even though they told them they didn't. Companies collect as much information on people as they can, that's why there are rebates, and club discount cards. Did you know that when you fill out those forms for returns, your name and info is kept so that if you do too many returns without your receipt they can turn you down for doing it too many times. I was told this at a Best Buy.
2.WHEN YOU DONATE MONEY, MOST OF IT GOES TO HELP THE PEOPLE IT'S INTENDED FOR
I have donated money to many different charities in the past, but I just don't believe in them anymore. Not even the well known brand name ones, especially after hearing about what happened to the 9/11 and Katrina monies.
For example, I have been seeing feed the children commercials since I was a kid. Now if people have been donating money to this cause since I was 5 years old, shouldn't most of the children be fed already! I want to see the children who have grown up and were helped by these charities. Why aren't these countries any better, not even slightly, better off now then they were 34 years ago? I don't think the money goes to them. Katrina victims are still being victimized, and Oprah and everyone is trying to help but what happened to all the money that was given to them? I think 98% of the money goes to so called administrative costs. To me, the best way to help people is locally. Someone you can see for yourself and help in the way they need. Just my opinion..
3.THE SUN CAUSES CANCER
I know this is a big controversy but I look at it like this; sunscreen has not been around since the beginning of time. And back then people didn't live in houses and they worked all day in the fields..Fast forward to today. People are hiding from the sun and using sunblock(interfering with the body's ability to make vitamin D). The chemicals found in sunblock are toxic! If you can't eat something, then why put it on your skin? Your skin absorbs whatever you put on it and it goes into your blood.
I also think that it is true that very fair skinned people should not be laying around outside in the middle of the afternoon until they turn as red as a tomato...Common sense! But being outside for a walk or activity when the sun is not directly overhead I don't feel is cause to douse yourself in toxic cremes.
What about skin cancer? Well people have been putting sunscreen on themselves and their children now for years and skin cancer along with other cancers are on the rise.. We live in a toxic world, our lifestyles, our food, and the stuff we put on our bodies and the medicines we take.
Somehow experts want to convince us that everything that is natural is bad for us and only synthetically created things that we must continuously purchase, are good for us. Sorry, I'm not buying it!!!!
4. YOU CAN'T CURE DISEASES WITH HEALTHY FOODS
I was reading a so called study the other day about how healthy foods don't help diseases and I laughed! Yeah only their special prescriptions drugs can cure sicknesses with their million and one side affects that are worse than the sickness itself. My husband once took a fungus pill to cure a fungus in his hand and he ended up with permanent liver damage.
Companies can't get a patent on all natural foods or herbs, so they say that they aren't any good and then they use some herbs, some manufactured junk and tell you to take it for life!
You can help your body heal with foods, I know this because I have been experimenting with juicing and herbs and natural foods these past years, and it works..
A few years back, my husband was having elevated liver enzymes and high blood pressure and his sugar was bordering on diabetic.. He refused medication, I put him on a low carb diet. He drank tons of water, and I bought a Super Greens whole food supplement instead of the typical vitamins and I also gave him milk thistle. I also juiced him some beets and other vegetables. After a couple of months his liver enzymes were the lowest they had ever been! His blood sugar was fine and his 140/90 blood pressure was down to 127/70. I have no doubt had he been taking all the recommended medications he would have been worse off. This is just one of many health issues I've been able to deal with without over the counter medications. I think everyone should try for themselves, it really is a benefit to learn for yourself what works and what doesn't work.
5.VACCINES ARE SAFE AND EFFECTIVE
I did a couple of articles on this already so I won't go into it again. Do the research...
6.PRESCRIPTION DRUGS ARE SAFE AND EFFECTIVE
Picture this... your walking through the mall and you pass a stand that has a thousand bottles of pills that are for every ailment you can name. On each bottle is this warning: This medicine is intended to temporarily numb your symptoms, it is not a cure. Some people may experience worse symptoms, organ failures or death. There is no way of knowing what will happen until after you take them. Good luck!
Well in my opinion this is exactly what is happening whenever we take prescription pills. I mean these pharmaceutical companies are like the legal drug dealers, you see commercials, ads, free samples. Look at the list of possible side effects!!
7.EXPERTS ARE EXPERTS
Experts are in style. Everywhere you look there are "experts" to tell people how to do just about everything. How to diet, how to have good marriages, raise great kids. The list goes on. The funny thing is, even with all these "experts "around telling us how to live, I don't see things being better off. People are more overweight, divorced, and stressed about their kids then ever before and ultimately just more confused. Then you have "experts" that contradict other "experts", or "experts" that change their minds... I think they are just an opinionated bunch of people that need to be ignored. People need to go back to what they know works. Tradition and experience. Everyone can be their own expert. And if you make a mistake, so what! At least it's your mistake with your own good intentions, not a mistake based on someone else's opinion.
8.GLOBAL WARMING IS ALL OUR FAULT
Now before people start yelling at me, I am not saying that global warming is not real. I have heard though, that it is not what these groups keep telling us it is. Some say that there might be other causes to the rise in temperature then carbon emissions. I think people need to look into this more and not just take it at face value. I also get annoyed at all these stars telling us that WE have to change things. Meanwhile they are living in these spacious mansions with like 4 cars. How many trees got cut down to build that mansion and that beautiful pool that is only occupied by 2 people? Are they driving all hybrid cars? Don't tell me to take my couple of dollars and pay thousand for a new car I can't afford. Why don't you take all those riches and instead of giving people your favorite things, buy people solar panels for their homes. Give people electric cars. Invest in a company that can build electric cars and sell it cheaper to us poor folk.
And those wonderful energy saving lightbulbs have mercury in them. So if you drop them and break them...

Why I hate car dealers...

I decided long ago that when I am unhappy with the way I get treated by a business establishment, I simply take my business away. I don't waste my time fighting with people. I just leave and go spend my money where it makes me happy to spend it. Car dealerships are at the top of my list of places I don't shop. I rather buy a gently used car off the street then deal with the false smiles of these salsemen that want to mug me and convince me that they are giving me the best deal. This was just confirmed for me again with this story...

I know an elderly couple who recently bought a new car. They had a car to trade in that was book value($10,000) and were told that it was only worth 2 grand(and lucky they were getting that much). Being an uniformed elderly couple and having no money for downpayment they made a lame attempt to bargain but in the end the dealer basically got a free car and got them to pay sticker price.

Well I wanted to help as many people as I can by sharing these sites that tell you about the tricks these dealers use, and how to get past them and not get scammed.

My daughter's first illness

For those of you who have read my other articles on vaccines and why I chose not to vaccinate my fourth child, this is an update. As you know I accidentally did my own medical case study with my four children. My first two children had all the required vaccines. My third child had some of the vaccines and finally I decided not to give my fourth child any vaccine(you can read about my results in my vaccine article).
Well my daughter went 9 months without a single sickness. I mean no cold, allergy, asthma, stuffy nose. Nothing!! She is now in her 9th month and has had her first sickness. She began with a fever that reached 103.4 and lasted for about 3days. She then developed a rash and had some mild diarrhea. Mostly she is very irritable. I think she has what is known as Roseola. I'm not sure yet. The doctor's didn't know because when I took her in she had no symptoms besides a fever that was gone and irritability. Anyway I just thought I should let everyone know. I think it is pretty amazing that her immune system has kept her so healthy for so long. For me, it reinforces my opinion on vaccines.

Is universal healthcare really the solution?

I have been hearing a lot about universal health care lately. When I saw the previews to Michael Moore's movie "Sicko" I applauded him for exposing some of the unfair things that happen in this country. I even jumped on the universal health care bandwagon for a little while. In all honesty, I am very fortunate because I have had complete health care for my whole family due to a program in my state for low income families. And even though my husband works sometimes 60 hours a week, we are still low income. I don't own a home and I drive a junk car, but I have a doctor when I need one.
Anyway, I started to think about what it would be like if health care became socialized. I know some people don't want to tag it with that term, but when the government is running something, it is socialized. And so I came to the conclusion that it wasn't a good idea after all, and I'll tell you why...
No more privacy..
One of the things I dislike most about any government program is the complete invasion of privacy. In order to apply for insurance, you must show and give copies of id, marriage license, birth certificates, and all children must have ss#'s(that funny little number that was only supposed to be used for the purposes of retirement). Then you must turn in bank statements, rent proof, along with letters from landlords and sometimes from your employer. And don't forget the pay stubs, and proof of address and expenses. Then after a long wait, you are either approved or not. If approved you must re certify every year( this means you must give them all the above listed information again). And as I found out this year, they can ask you to re certify as many times as they want in a year without giving you any reason. For some reason they needed me to do this 3 times this year. I guess they thought I was lying.
Incompetence and confusion
When I re certified this year, I was told my income was too much. So me, my husband and 3 of my children were to be covered but my 6 year old was no longer eligible for their program. I had to go apply to a different program that covered children his age for low income folks.
Okay, that makes sense.... So I called the new program and went through the whole application process and weeks later I was told I was missing a signature. So I met with a rep for the company, signed the papers and waited again. Months go by and I hear nothing. I call and am told that the application was denied for lack of signature. I explain that I met with a rep and she promised it was all taken care of. They say "apply again." I call the rep and tell her. She nicely tells me she is going to see what happened and call me back. She never calls back and then avoids the rest of my pleading calls. I call the company and they tell me "apply again."
So now, I gave all my personal information to some unknown who now has it in some unknown place, and now I must surrender it all again to reapply and hope they get it right. Then I must wait another couple of months to be approved and then wait for the coverage to kick in.
Now if the government has so many competence problems for the amount of people that are covered now, imagine when everyone in this country is submitting paper work and applications. And then who will we able to complain to? Who will care when we do complain?
And I haven't even talked about the many times I get letters from doctors saying a claim is denied and then I have to play phone messenger between doctor and insurance company, and mail letters to get it corrected.

Who decides my care?
Let's say people are willing to overlook the first two problems for the sake of universal health care. They might consider it a worthy sacrifice for the sake of having health insurance.
Now who is going to decide about the type of care we get? Right now I get a book of doctors and I must choose an hmo and hospital from a list. Now if you have everyone living within an area having the same doctor's offices to choose from then it's going to be pretty crowded in those offices. Imagine trying to get an appointment.
What about acceptable treatments. Will the government decide that if people decide not to vaccinate then their coverage will be suspended? What if a person decides they are against chemo therapy and wants to try different treatments? Will they or their children be forced to use only the acceptable treatment decided by Uncle Sam?
I don't know if you are familiar with a program in Florida in which Alzheimer's patients are being implanted with chips that have their information in case they get lost. Imagine the government having the complete power over the health of everyone in the country. They already want to give us a national ID. Will they then say we must all be implanted with chips, so that they can more easily keep track of all our medical records? If you have only them to go to and you have sick children, what will your choice be?
If your a fan of Dr. Phil you have heard him say.."Absolute power, corrupts absolutely."
Think about this... You would be giving control of your health and the health of your families over to the federal government. Do you know how powerful the lobbyists for the pharmaceutical companies are? Government is not free of corruption. People could become unwilling guinea pigs. And they would have no choice. Because when you give yourself over to the government, you are giving up your other choices. Then you will be at the mercy of the person in charge.
So how do we solve the problem of uninsured Americans?
The answer is...I don't know. I really don't. I think that humans have been around for thousands of years without universal health care. I don't think the government was meant to be our parent. The more we give ourselves over to them, the more we lose knowledge of how to take care of ourselves and the more dependent we become. When we become totally dependent on the government, it becomes a chain around our neck. Because now we fear fighting back if we don't like something because we have so much to lose. Think about this.. Most of us are unhappy about some of the policies or treatment we have to deal with at work. Do you go in and fight back? Why not? Because if you did, and you came up short even one paycheck, you just might lose everything you have. Employers know this and take full advantage.
I know it's easy to say this, I have health insurance and many don't. I do think that something needs to be done. I do think we should care about all the sick, suffering people that have no insurance. I think we need to find a better solution.

Are antidepressents making people crazy

Recent school shootings have brought back memories of other shootings. Remember Columbine and Virginia Tech? But did you know that there are about 26 other cases of violence that occurred at schools? Some were shootings, hostage situations, knife attacks, even a machete attack at an elementary school. There is a common thread among these violent offenders, something they all have in common: They were all on some kind of antidepressant medication. There are over 1000 cases of people that have harmed themselves or others while taking antidepressant medication. I think someone needs to shine a light on this problem.

Drug warnings

If you look at the drug insert for Prozac it lists these possible side effects: Headache, sleep disorders (e.g. abnormal dreams, insomnia), dizziness, anorexia, fatigue (e.g. drowsiness, sleepiness), euphoria, transitory abnormal movements (e.g. muscle spasms, instability, trembling, muscle shakes, convulsions and psychomotor agitation. Hallucinations, manic reactions, confusion, agitation, anxiety and associated symptoms (e.g. nervousness), difficulty concentrating and thinking (e.g. depersonalization), panic attacks (these symptoms may be due to the underlying mental disorder). On the website for the drug Paxil, I found this under prescribing information:Suicidality and Antidepressant Drugs: Antidepressants increased the risk compared to placebo of suicidal thinking and behavior (suicidality) in children, adolescents, and young adults in short-term studies of major depressive disorder (MDD) and other psychiatric disorders. And there are warnings about withdrawal from many of these drugs. They cause terrible side effects if you just stop taking it suddenly, apparently you have to slowly wean yourself off. It seems ironic, that these medicines that are supposed to be the answer for depression and other mental disorders, can possibly cause these disorders. How can they possibly tell who this medicine is going to affect in a bad way or who it is going to help? They can't. They have to simply get it out there, let all kinds of people take it and then find out what happens. People are live guinea pigs..

Over diagnosed and Over prescribed

Let me first state that I am not a doctor. Do I have experience with depression? Yes, I think if you are a human being there are times you will get depressed. But besides that, I have family members who have been on medication. My grandfather suffered deep depressions and was even in a hospital and received shock treatment for it. I have other members that are diagnosed as bi-polar. So I have experienced these things first hand, and that is why I am going to say this.. I think that Depression and Bi-polar disorders are way over diagnosed. First of all, pharmaceutical companies cannot design a drug unless it is for a disease or disorder. So now we have all kinds of diseases and disorders, intermittent anger disorder, there was even one for kids who played too many video games.. I mean come on....These special names for everyday human emotion now allows companies to come out with a new drug every week! I have never seen so many new drugs come out so fast. Every month there is an advertisement for a new one. I'll give you an example. I have a family member who was going through some major problems in their life. They were unable to sleep and they were having anxiety attacks. This went on for a while. She went to the doctor and was given an antidepressant right away. She took it for months. Did her life change? Was she not depressed or anxious anymore? No, and no. She didn't need pills. She needed to deal with the problems she was having and find away to solve them or settle them within herself. She needed family support. The sleeplessness and anxiety and depression didn't stop until the problems were solved. Over diagnosed and Over prescribed. I don't think depression is a one shot problem with a one shot pill for an answer. There are many facets to depression and one pill is not going to solve it all. First of all, depression is a normal human emotion. Humans by nature are deeply emotional beings. As people grow up, what we feed ourselves, mentally, emotionally, physically, along with our support system, all help design how we will deal with life and it's stresses as adults. The kind of t.v. we watch, the books we read, the music we listen too. These things do affect how we think and believe. That's why propaganda exists, because a person's thinking can be changed and guided by the things they are constantly exposed to over and over again. I think there are some people that just have not been equipped with the emotional tools needed to deal with depression or anger. I also think in some cases, extreme stress and bad diet can affect mental health. There are times when I am just getting horrible sleep and I feel it affect me mentally. I don't wake up feeling good, and I have felt depressed and all wrong. Once I get a few weeks of really good sleep, suddenly things seem brighter. It is absolutely understandable that post partum mothers feel depressed. They have been through months of uncomfortable sleep and now they will have short bursts of sleep for a whole bunch of months. On top of that they will have to meet the demands of a crying baby and the rest of the family. Who wouldn't feel emotionally unbalanced. IT IS NORMAL.. I once saw a documentary on a man who as a stunt deprived himself of having any sleep for a whole week. He started to go crazy! After he was done with the experiment (he slept for three days straight),he was never the same person again, according to his wife and it eventually led to their divorce. He had become more of an angry person.

Another thing that needs to be considered are the different chemicals and preservatives in our foods. Each one individually may not be harmful, but people eat many different kinds of foods all day, mixing all the different preservatives. Nobody knows if this can affect the brain of sensitive people.

Changing the brain?

In my opinion people should be very wary of taking any pill that is supposed to change anything about the functioning of the brain. The brain is a very complex thing that has not been fully understood or unlocked by anyone since the beginning of time. It is impossible, in my opinion to design a pill that is going to be able to understand the complexities of the brain and an individuals mind and then be able to correct it. A pill, or chemical, is an unfeeling object. It cannot remove a bad thought.

Solutions

I see a major problem in society today. It is that people are giving up power over themselves. They are no longer holding themselves responsible for how they live their lives. Instead they are becoming helpless victims of their lives dependent on drugs to solve their problems: Don't be sexually responsible, use birth control. If you forget that, use the day after pill. Don't deal with emotional problems and stress, take a pill. Don't control your eating habits, take a pill. Don't take responsibility for raising your children, call an expert and if that doesn't work give them a pill. Don't fix your life and solve your problems, take this anti-depression pill. Can't stop smoking, take a pill. Can't sleep take a pill. Can't stay awake- take a pill. Drug companies in my opinion are nothing but legal drug dealers. They have figured a way to have constant customers. Really, their drugs are not designed to cure anything! Only numb you out to your life and to your physical, and psychological problems. You must stay on them forever. Then you won't have to be responsible for being an active participant in making yourself better. You don't have to try and find the will to do what you know you should do. Yes, this is harsh. But you know what, people need to start being honest with themselves. These drugs are just taking the place of alcohol and other habits of people who have a hard time facing life. Now I know this is not right for everyone. There are people who suffer from real mental problems and don't know why. I understand this. But there are a lot less of these kind of people, then there are on medications right now. I think for those that are in real distress, they need to be pro active and try to do everything they can to help themselves. Some things people can try are changing diet. Stop eating so many processed foods. Healthy foods do make a difference in how your body feels. Sugary diets can give you highs and lows all day. Exercise is very important and can give a natural high and feeling of well being. Rest is vitally important to good health and good feelings. Turn off the t.v. and computer and go to bed early everyday. It is very healing when your body can get the proper amount of rest. Do what will bring about the change that is needed to improve and satisfy your life. Don't be an experiment for profit. Don't just blindly trust what some so-called expert tells you. Do you know how many people are killed or damaged due to a side affect of some prescription or vaccine? It happens every day. It is senseless, when people are smart enough and capable enough of reasoning and making changes and learning how to adjust to life and all it brings. After all people did it before "magic" pills existed.

Please, if you are on a pill, don't just stop taking it without talking to a doctor. Your brain is already being affected by it. And maybe for some people it does help them. But you can also try to help yourself. Look into the truth about these things and make an informed decision. Again, I am not a doctor and this article is simply my own opinion. My hope in all the articles I write is to get people thinking outside the bubble of propaganda and influence that is around us constantly and get them to trust themselves and become more self sufficient. Who is a real American?
I love America. I love everything it is supposed to stand for. The freedom of an individual to pursue his own life and happiness without government interference. No king telling you who to worship and how to worship. No dictator forcing you to abide by his or her own desires. Nothing and no one to limit what you can accomplish and have in your life with your own sweat and tears. That is truly American. That is the essence of what the constitution was trying to protect.
Let's get past the "conspiracy theories" and "9/11 truth" movement stuff and let's reason together. Are we free??
Can I walk out of this little place I live in (because I can't afford a house on my husband's 60 hours of work a week) and decide that I am going to take what skills I have, put up a little stand on the corner, and sell my skill to whoever will buy it so that I can support my family?
Not without a permit. Not without a form to ask permission to have a business, to promise to pay part of any money I make to the government, not without licenses, inspections, rent. A permit is nothing more but paying money to ask permission. This is a free market?
Well then I will try to work within the system. So now I can't merely go to a business, offer my skill, arrange payment for what my work is worth, and get paid. I must fill out an application, show i.d., fill out a promise to pay uncle sam form, show my social security id number(that was never supposed to be used as i.d.), take a urine test, get a background and credit check. And then get paid a wage that is worth nothing. Then the company makes me sign all kinds of forms about ever changing regulations, or I got into trouble forms so that they can have enough evidence against me in case they want to throw me out. They can change my hours anytime they want, make me work overtime, and keep me working there all day and night if they so pleased. Of course I am free to quit any day if I don't mind losing the one paycheck standing between me and poverty. Or the ever expensive health insurance that is helping me take care of my sick kid.

How do they tax you, let me count the ways
One of the wonderful advantages of big government is that many useless positions are set up by people in power to give their friends high paying jobs. Then with all these different offices and assistants to do this and that, comes more taxes for us. Now the government is always crying that they don't have enough money. Yet every dollar we make is taxed over and over and over again.
First you have the income tax, then every time you buy something you pay sales tax. There is also the gas tax, phone tax(actually several taxes about $26 worth), cell phone tax, permit fees, car inspection fees, postal stamps, wedding license fees( if you're broke, can you get married?), drivers license renewal fees, license application fees, business application fees, getting an in ground pool higher tax, buying beverages 5 cents tax, law enforcement ticket fees and surcharges, train parking meters, city parking meters, social security( which is being depleted),medicaid, cigarettes, alcohol, death tax, property tax, the list could go on. All we do is pay, pay, pay. So much money is being paid and the value of the dollar bill is practically worthless. We have nothing to back it up. And nothing to hold up the big spenders in Washington that send millions abroad and yet have to borrow to keep our own government going as they neglect and take health care away from our children.
I would rather get rid of social security and 401 k plans and be responsible for my own future as it was a long time ago. These -put every one's money in one pot schemes are just a way for them to benefit off of the tremendous interest made by millions of dollars being put into their hands. They make a ton of interest of which no one ever sees, and they give you a pennies worth of interest back. Then if you are put in a home when you are old, your checks go straight to line the pockets of the old people orphanages, where you will now be broke and dependent on a bunch of non caring individuals. Yeah this sounds like what the founding fathers had in mind.
Protecting ourselves
I believe this country should be protected. And I support the troops completely. I support them not fighting a war based on a lie for the benefit of making others rich. Every time there is a war there are those who get rich. And there are those who die. Protecting our country means building up our own country. Exporting more than importing. Not borrowing so much money.(Ever heard the saying" the borrower is slave to the lender"?).You want to id, x-ray, spy on, people. Then do it to the non Americans at the borders trying to get in. That is where you need to be extra protective and strict.
Instead they want to join the U.S. with Mexico and Canada to form a North American Union with one currency. Check that out! It's for real. And our soldiers, instead of being here at our borders are dying, divorcing, and losing their civil liberties here at home while fighting for democracy over there. Huh! You think I am crazy???

Should that be the belief of someone that is running this country?
Do you know that it has been signed into law that in case of any type of emergency, the president will have dictatorial powers over all levels of government?
Do you know that your habeus corpus rights do not exist if you are decided to be an enemy combatant?
Did you know that your phones may have been tapped? Your library information can be given out without your permission or knowledge, your papers and effects can be searched and seized, federal prison conversation between attorney and client can be monitored.
There is a national id card coming soon.
Are these all American ideals and standards? These are the freedoms that our forefathers fought for and people died for?
Bring back the constitution
Ron Paul wants to bring this country back from corporate control and run it under the principles of the constitution. What is crazy, creepy, fanatic about that? You people who throw out your propaganda must know nothing about this country that you call home.
He actually has integrity! Something that is so hard to find nowadays. He speaks what he really believes. He wants to get rid of the IRS! You want them? They put people in jail for a tax that they cannot justify with the law when you ask them to!
He wants to call our troops home.Great! let them defend our borders as it should be.
He wants less government and more individual freedom. YES, YES, YES!! SOMEONE WHO FINALLY GETS WHAT THIS COUNTRY IS SUPPOSED TO BE. I think it is crazy that anyone could look at the state that this country is in and think that anyone else could be better suited to turn things around. We need real change, someone not bought and paid for by corporations and private interests. People are hungry for this and it shows in the support this guy is getting. Don't give me that bull that he's low on those fake corporate owned media polls. I don't buy that there are a bunch of fanatics out there spamming anymore then I believed that a jumbo jet could really so easily fly into something as important as the Pentagon. Common sense and not theories tell me something doesn't make sense there.
I just don't believe that I need the government to be my parent so that I must ask permission for everything and give up all my freedom to be protected from myself and others. I don't need them telling me not to smoke or to put my belt on, or to wear a helmet on a bike. My life should be mine to live as I please. That is true freedom, even if I chose to smoke, drink, and not wear a seat belt! People should be self sufficient! If you want the government to give you everything then you must give yourself to be owned by it.
But if you don't mind losing more lives, losing face around the world, losing the value of the dollar and crashing the economy, losing social security, the rest of our constitutional rights, then you go ahead and vote for whoever the corporate owned media tells you to. After all when we voted the democrats in to take a stand and change things, they did everything they promised they would right????

Have a lead free Christmas...

As I was doing my Christmas decorating the other day, I noticed on the box for the lighted garland, that there was a warning about there being lead on it. I then noticed that this warning was on all the Christmas lights! They tell you that the wire coating has lead and to wash your hands after use. I never noticed that before, is this new? Or is the fact that they actually have to tell the truth about it new?

It's hard to go to the stores and shop for toys this year with all these warning about lead in the toys. I am even afraid to buy teething toys for my baby. "I am going to give each one of you a seed today, a very special seed. I want you to plant the seed, water it and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next emperor!"
One young man named Ling, a son of a farmer, was there that day, and he was certain that he could cultivate that seed better than anyone else. He got a pot, filled it with rich soil and watered it carefully. Day after day, he checked the pot. Weeks passed by, then months, and still nothing had grown. Other youths from the kingdom began to talk about their plants and flowers and trees, but Ling said nothing. He was sure that he somehow had killed the seed.
After a year had passed, all the youths of the kingdom brought their plants to the emperor for inspection. Ling's first inclination was not to attend, but he showed up that day, sick to his stomach. He was amazed at the plants that the others had brought. They were of all different varieties and all so beautiful. Some of the others made fun of Ling's empty pot and others felt pity for him. Ling stood toward the back of the crowd.The emperor looked over the vast array and seemed pleased. Ron Paul, like Ling, is a great truth-teller. His voting record is one of the most consistent this writer has ever seen. No flip-flops are to be found. As well, he is a courageous and wise man, and a heck of an economist. Just ask the Wall Streeters. However, he bears to his fellow countrymen (and countrywomen), an empty pot. He can't claim to have brought you wars or higher taxes, which we now have. He never brought you an unbalanced budget, which is a perennial joke. He never voted himself a wage increase and, to this day, gives back part of his salary every year. He has always voted to preserve the Constitution, cut government spending, lower healthcare costs, end the war on drugs, secure our borders with immigration reform and protect our civil liberties. Sorrowfully, he was outvoted or shot down on all measures.

Hello Again...

Hey everyone, I am sorry I've been gone for a while. A lot of things happening. First of all, my husband and I decided that we are very soon going to drop everything here and make a go at building our own house. Yes, that's right, we want to try to build a house with whatever money we can scrape together, and with our own labor. Why? Because it is just a shame that the right to shelter has become nothing more then modern day surfdom. You get permission to buy a home that you will never be able to pay off in your lifetime, and even if you do pay it off, you must always pay dues to Uncle Sam or he will take away your life's work. That to me is not homeownership. I don't want to live in debted to anyone, and having to work and waste away all my time with my husband and children to never really own anything in the end makes no sense to me.
So anyway, we are currently saving and scraping together. We hope to be gone by the end of this year. If everythings works as planned I will be keeping everyone posted on how we do. We are going to risk it, and if it works out I will definately tell everyone how we did it!!

Great cure for stomach viruses

Lime!! I have used lime anytime anyone in my family has become ill with a stomach ache, or vomitting. My 3 year old woke up the other day with a low grade fever, headache, and vomitting. I juiced 2 limes and gave it to him. He did vomit again. After he vomitted the second time I immediatly juiced 3 limes and gave it to him. About a 1/2 hour later I gave him some water and he vomitted again. One hour later, his fever was gone, he no longer felt sick and he got his appetite back. He didn't throw up again.
I have used it everytime one of my kids get sick with vomitting and it always stops it. Sometimes it works after the first dose, sometimes it might take a couple. It works great for adults to. In my experience it has to be three limes for it to work.
Lime is also great for soar throats. Take one lime and juice it and drink a couple of times a day as soon as you feel that little scratchy feeling in the back of your throat. It will usually stop the soar throat in it's tracks. Keep taking it until the soarness is gone.

Should you be a freegan?

The other day I caught a clip of Oprah doing a show on groups of people called Freegans. I had never heard of them before, but I found I had a lot in common with them.
Freegans are people that make a choice, not out of necessity, to meet thier needs by spending as little money as possible and recycling all the food, clothes, furniture,etc.. that gets thrown out everyday in this country.
Now I won't be trading the supermarket for the dumpster anytime soon, but as I said in a previous blog. My husband and I are planning to make a big change in lifestyle. We also want to get out of the current system and live a much simpler, and healthier life.
There is something wrong with this picture....
When I was growing up my parents both worked. It was a natural thing to me and I thought nothing of having to kiss my husband goodbye and part ways for 10 hours. When we got home we were both exauhsted, stressed and irritable. And all this was to support ourselves in a small apartment. After a while, it just didn't feel right to me. I got married so that I could share my life with my husband, but I am hardly seeing him. Our paychecks really belong to the banks, landlord, electric and gas companies, supermarket, and uncle sam gets his cut of course. The more overtime I work, the more I get taxed so it really isn't worth it.
Then when I began having children everything changed. I didn't want to have to leave my babies. I wanted to be an at home mom and enjoy every single moment with my children. I didn't want to leave him in the hands of strangers or other family members to raise. They grow so fast and then they are gone. I only get them for like 18 years. Then they go make thier own lives. I didn't want to lose that.
Staying at home ment a huge sacrifice. My husband and I will never be able to afford a house or a new car. At least not in the place we are living in now.
What American Dream?
The American dream is just not what it once was. I will never be able to pay off a house that costs 1/4 of a million dollars. And even if I could, the house would only be mine for as long as I can pay property taxes. Food has become so expensive you end up sacrificing health for the cheap junk. I am not surprised that there are so many depressed people in this country. I think everyone has that underlying feeling that this system of doing things is wrong.
We are losing our rights at work. People are so close to poverty that they can't afford to speak out against unfairness. Corporations and big businesses take advantage of this. They own the politicians and laws are made in thier favor.
People are sacrificing time with thier children and spouses and just getting so little return on those sacrifices.
Feeling Free
After years of a no win struggle my husband and I have decided to remove ourselves from this hamster wheel and try something new. As I said in my recent post, we have paid off some bills and we are scraping together what we can and we are leaving this state to another where it is cheaper to live. We plan to build our own house, literally, and grow our own food and try to hustle a business if we can. But at least any work or sacrifice we make or do will be for us, not Bank of America or Slomins. And we will be enjoying our time together.
Help For Everyone
I know there are a lot of people out there that feel just as drained and shackled as I do. This is not what this country was ment to be. We need to take it back from the banks, and corporations. People need to get out and vote for real change( Vote Ron Paul. Or join Ron Paul's march for freedomhttp://www.ronpaulmarch.com/). Don't buy things on credit. Banks love you for it, and so does your employer, it means you have to do what he wants for as little as he wants to pay you for it.
If you are going to take out the equity in your house, don't use it to improve the bank's property. Instead buy yourself a piece of land. Or invest in solar power.
Get a fireplace so you can tell the oil company to go screw themselves. They are making record profits! Profits are what is left after the expenses.
People throw out so much good stuff everday. Here is a site you can go to and get tons of free stuff. http://Freecycle.org/ . You could furnish a house on what people get rid of.
There are also many sites where people barter and trade. Google it.

I found these interesting videos on Michael Moore's site.http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/stoplossvideos People protesting about the war and soldiers that have had their stay extended involuntarily. They are even denied vacation according to these protesters. It's amazing that none of this shows up in the press, but I am not surprised. It speaks to the state of our press. It does not serve the people of this country anymore, but instead the politicians and big business. Propaganda has become our mainstream news.

In this video you will see people getting arrested for "protesting without a permit." I thought that we lived in a democracy and we had a right to peaceful protests! Since when do we need permits? Permits to drive, make a house, protest, add a room, open a business.....We need permission(permits) for just about everything these days. And to the police who are looked upon as heroes; Why do you betray your fellow Americans when you know that they are protesting injustice and hypocrisy? Why are you so eager to lay down the law on your fellow citizens when politicians walk free for their crimes? Don't think it's true? Recently the governor of New York was outed for paying thousands of dollars to a prostitute. Any other citizen guilty of that illegal activity would have been arrested. Why aren't you staunch enforcers of the law arresting him???? Why don't you law enforcers that hold such an important position, instead of arresting the protesters, stand up with them? Why so anxious to be lap dogs and obedient goons instead of free men with dignity and a sense of true justice! I never can understand why man so easily gives up his freedom and autonomy to serve one or two masters. This country could be a lot different if when the police were called in to arrest people fighting for the rights of all citizens, they would just stand their against orders and support the cause to keep us all free...

New discovery to help atopic dermatitis

Hi, everyone. I just found a treatment that has really helped my daughter with a skin problem she has been having and I wanted to share it with you.
A few months ago my daughter broke out in a rash around the trunk of her body. Her skin became really rough and pimply and she would get red and itchy. She didn't have it on her face and she had very little on legs and arms. Anyway, I stopped using detergent on her clothes and went to the doctor. The doctor prescribed me Elidel for what she said was atopic dermatitis, sensitive skin. I had trouble at the pharmacy because they said it was not recommended for children under 2(she is 14 months). I looked it up and was appalled at the warnings and possible side effects(cancer, headaches, etc...). My daughter cannot tell me if she feels a stomach ache or headache. No way am I going to use this.
Instead I did my regular research and found a site that said apple cider vinegar was useful to many people who had this type of problem. I decided to try it and it really worked well. My daughter's back is almost completely cleared up and her stomach and chest are greatly improved. She still has some itching, which goes away when I apply the apple cider, but it looks so much better.
The treatment I use is a couple of capfuls of apple cider vinegar and then some water to dilute it, or it will sting. I use cotton and put it all over the irritated skin and let it dry. Yes it stinks pretty bad, but the smell goes away(or your nose gets used to it)after a while. I do this a couple of times a day. After a bath I will lotion her up.
This is not a miracle cure, and natural remedies work differently on different people. My daughter did really benefit from this. Her skin is not totally clear. She still gets itchy and some redness, but it is really much better then it was. Once I apply this, the itching goes away for a while and her skin gets red from the vinegar. But as I said before her skin looks better, the scratches heal faster and roughness and pimples are almost gone. So I say give it a try! All of the remedies that I use regularly are things that I just tried to see what would work. And now I have an arsenal of things to use so that I can avoid a lot of these dangerous prescription and over the counter medications. I will share with you as I learn and I would love to hear about any remedies that work for you.

Don't sign that!......

I took my son to the doctor for a physical today and I was just shocked at a paper the nurse so nonchalantly handed me to sign. If you've read my previous articles, then you know that after much thought and research Idecided not to vaccinate my children. As annoying as it is, I answer the same questions as to why every time I go to the doctor. This time though, the nurse hands me a paper to sign. She says it's just to say that I refused vaccines.

I almost signed it. Then I decided to read the whole paper. The beginning says that the doctor went over all the dangers and info on vaccines, that I refused them anyway blah..blah..blah... THEN there is a part that said that I am willfully and purposefully putting my child and other children at risk!! STOP THE PRESSES!! I came to a very difficult decision after years of going back and forth, and after witnessing the havoc that my children's immune system went through. My daughter could've died from the reaction she had! How dare they try to get me to sign that I am willfully putting my children at risk. Do these doctors think that they could ever love my children or care for their well being as much as I do? Have they lost nights of sleep, run to hospitals, cried for, worked for, sacrificed for, any of my children? Have they been there when I sat up all night with my daughter sleeping on my chest in a sitting position, just so she could breath better because of a reaction to their vaccines?

I am sorry, but in my opinion many doctors are shamefully uninformed. I don't think most of them do the research that it takes to really be able to say that vaccines are safe. They give you the same line given to them about how the benefits outweigh the risks. Which one of you out there wants to be the parent with the 1 out of 150 children who gets autism. And even if doctors completely ignore autism, how can they ignore the amount of children that come back to their office with asthma or some other health problems after a vaccine all at the same time? They won't even consider a vaccine reaction, and if you mention it, they brush you off. It is irresponsible on their part.

As people that are so respected for their opinions and that hold the lives of people in their hands, it is their responsibility to make sure that what they are telling you to do is safe. Do the research! And don't give me some statistics. Talk to mothers with damaged children. There is a problem here that is getting swept under the rug.

Do I think that vaccines are all bad? No.

Do I think that there is a risk in not giving vaccines? Yes

I think there are huge profits being made off of vaccines and medications and very little being done to really find out what the problem is.

I rather choose to wait until my children are older and stronger, to give a vaccine, then to inject a 1 day old baby with a developing immune system with something that they CANNOT GUARANTEE ME IS SAFE! It's a risk either way. And you cannot take back the damage that is done, but you can vaccinate when they are older.

I am sorry to get so carried away, I just get so angry that people have to make decisions out of fear. Doctors, the press, everyone wants people to be scared and just do what they say. But they don't live with the consequences.

Next time you are given any paper to sign, remember that your signature is an agreement to whatever is on that paper! You don't have to sign anything you are not in agreement with.
