During the water shortage prior to TS Sendong, peopel had to line up for water rations by the different firetruck that serviced each area..

People had to have drums and barrels for the purpose of storing water...filling them each time rations would come...

And every refilling company's nightmare, as even these containers had to be used..

As for us, we are lucky we have the Balingasag Firetruck to service us, as well as the truck of Nanuri International School.. Thanks to them, we have water to use and bath.. I would also like to mention that my friend Debbie offered to have us wash clothes at her home, which was a great privilege at our time of need. Thanks to all of them who gave us, water.. or in binisaya, TUBIG...

My brother was approached one time by Vintage Cars Enthusiasts here in Cagayan de Oro City. That was when my brother became interested with restorations and salvage auction cars. I think the reason why he was approached is because he drives one of the oldest Lady Bugs in the city. Volks Wagen (Folks Vagen or Folk's Wagon) is indeed a vintage choice for the many vintage lovers. I saw how pretty most bugs are these days. They have become so good looking that many get inspired to have theirs prettified. I wonder if BMW also has that vintage thingy, where people participate in bmw salvage.. Or, an Audi, do people want to salvage audi? Well, if someone could salvage a Rolls Royce, then why not all the rest of the different kinds of brands, models and designs of cars.. I am sure any car that has been brought back to life becomes impeccable and great looking..

Which reminds me, I saw this blog about a site that deals with salvage cars, so I dropped by and I saw that all the wonderful cars in the world can still be saved after an extreme damage. A salvaged vehicle, if you are asking what it is, is a vehicle that had been damaged in one way or another. Like, if a car has been severely damaged from an accident, it will surely be made into a salvage title by most car insurance companies, but of course, it will all depend on how badly the damage on the vehicle is.

In my readings, I found out that cars with salvage titles are not the junk cars which are piled heaps of metal. Some of these salvage title cars are not as damaged as one may think, and some of them are even drivable off the lot, and if you get one, you will realize that a salvaged title car can be a great bargain. There are hundreds, if not millions of salvaged title cars that are bought, sold, and repaired each year in the US. The actual cost to repair the damage to a salvaged title car can actually be less than what the car insurance company anticipated. This makes a salvaged title car a great deal.. Great savings for anyone willing to put forth the investment. If one makes a business out of it, salvaged title cars can be a popular and profitable choice for most investors and car dealers.

If we have this in CDO, I am sure many Kagay-anons will buy them..

I was invited to join the first ever Bisdak Virtual Party for Mommy Kayce on her 28th birthday... It's gonna be a virtual pot luck, and for this party, I have ordered Beko's Biik Lechon de Leche all the way from Davao City..

Of course, there are two of them. On the left is the Spicy Flavored Lechon de Leche, while on the right is the regular flavored Lechon de Leche.. On the other hand, my gift for her would be this Kinilaw Mix, Cagayan de Oro's very own mix... as I know she loves preparing food for so many people of different peer groups.

The newly built Masonic Marker,which now stands at the Divisoria Plaza had been unveiled during the 55th Mindanao Masonic Convention and Centennial Anniversary of Freemasonry in Mindanao, on Feb. 25, 2011. The Marker is located at the heart of Cagayan de Oro City, other wise known as Divisoria Plaza.

The ceremonious unveiling of said marker was spearheaded by MW Avelino I. Razon, Jr., Grand Master, and of course, Cagayan de Oro City's Mayor Dongkoy Emano, who is a mason himself. This photo of them, together with the Brethren posing in front of the Centennial Marker in Divisoria, Plaza, CDO.

As we all know, Freemasonry has been existing for ages, and are believed and proven to be the movers and shakers of society. And even if some other forces oppose them, still they continue to uphold ideals that transcends into growth and the liberation of society in general. As a matter of fact, every great leader is a Master Mason.. to name a few, Jose P. Rizal, our National Hero is one of them, as well as most of the heroes of his time. And here in CDO, we have so many great leaders who have done so much for our city when they were in service.. Aside from our present day city mayor and city councilors who are master masons, Uldarico Akut, the Municipal Mayor of Cagayan de Misamis from 1912 to 1916 and the first City Mayor of Cagayan de Oro, Max Suniel were very active Masons of their time. The city has improved so much and grown to what it is today.

NGCP Imposes Power Curtailments Anew Due to Mindanao-wide Power Supply Deficiency;

CEPALCO Areas to Experience 2 ½ Hours of Rotating Brownouts

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines [NGCP] has again imposed power curtailments all over Mindanao due to a power supply shortage affecting the entire Mindanao Island. According to NGCP, the power supply shortage is due to the maintenance outage of NPC’s Pulangi 4 [Unit 1] and Agus 6 [Unit 1] hydro electric plants; non- operation of Therma Marine’s two power barges and reduced capabilities of some other NPC hydro plants.

Because of NGCP’s re-imposition of power curtailments, CEPALCO will again be scheduling rotating brownouts lasting for about 2 hours and 30 minutes per area.

Please find below the load shedding schedule / guide [2 hours & 30 minutes DAILY rotating brownouts] within the CEPALCO service area for the period Sept. 20 to 23, 2010. Again, CEPALCO would like to caution customers that the actual switch off and switch on time may vary from the announced schedule depending on the actual load curtailment levels imposed by NGCP on CEPALCO on a day to day basis.
