Two Rule Amendments Take Effect June 1, 2009

Amendments to Rules 3.104 and 4.105, that were passed at the 2005 Commission Annual Meeting, became effective June 1, 2009. The ICAOS Rules document has been revised and posted to the Commission website.

ICOTS Training Announced for Compact Office Users

Compact Office ICOTS training sessions covering “Compact Workload” and “Assigning & Directing Workflow” are available in June and July. Three sessions (one hour each) of each specific topic are scheduled with slots available on a first come first serve basis for Compact Office users only.

Compact Workload (June 11, June 23, July 8)
Compact Office Users will be trained on specific ways to manage and use the Compact Workload functions. Topics covered in this training will include filtering and searching the Compact Workload to pull reports, identifying cases status information and sorting results.

Assigning & Directing Workflow (June 17, June 30, July 15)
Compact Office Users will be trained on ways to manage the workflow of activities and cases. Topics covered in this training will include using the decision screen to direct workflow of activities, differences between assign and delegate and how the Manage Case Load functions work.

Three sessions covering each topic are scheduled with slots available on a first come first serve basis. To register go to the ICAOS WebEx site.

Only registrations for Compact Office users will be accepted. Registration requests by field users (users with a PO or Supervisor role) will be rejected.

Revised Training Modules and Presentations

Minor revisions were made to the Intro to Rules & Eligibility and the Transferring Supervision on-demand training modules due to the October 6, 2008 & June 1, 2009 effective dates for the amendments to Rules 3.104, 3.107 & 4.105 passed by the Commission in 2005.

The ICAOS Rules Training Presentation for Probation & Parole Officers was also updated to reflect the amendments.

Proposed Amendments to ICAOS Rules

Pursuant to ICAOS Rule 2.109 (b), the Rules Committee has posted the proposals submitted by regions and standing committees to amend ICAOS rules. These proposals will be open for written comments until August 15, 2009. Based on the comments received, the Rules Committee will prepare a final draft of each proposal for consideration by the Commission at the 2009 Annual Business Meeting.

The proposals may be viewed at the ICAOS website’s “Proposed Rule Amendments” Discussion Forum. This forum is open to all Commissioners, Compact Administrators, Deputy Compact Administrators and ex officio members.

The committee’s intent is to post proposals sufficiently in advance of final consideration to allow each to be fully discussed in every state and in regional meetings. This discussion is crucial to the enactment of viable and meaningful rules which advance the goals of the compact. Please take the time to give each proposal your thoughtful consideration.

Training Bulletin on ICAOS Rule 3.104 Released

At the charge of the Executive Committee, the amendment to Rule 3.104 passed by the Commission in 2005 takes effect June 1, 2009. Rule 3.104 requires a receiving state to reject an incomplete Transfer Request and specify which requirements of Rule 3.107 are missing. Full details: ICOTS Training Bulletin 2-2009i
