Laura McGaughey, Fundraising Chairperson of Family Promise of Indiana County and our committee are working together to support a dedicated nonprofit organization focused on alleviating homelessness and supporting individuals and families in our community. We are reaching out to seek your valuable assistance in our efforts to address this pressing issue in Indiana County.

As you may know, homelessness is a complex challenge that impacts many people in our community. On any given night in Pennsylvania, 12,556 people experience homelessness. This staggering number represents individuals and families without the security of a stable home. In response to this crisis, Family Promise provides essential services, including shelter, meals, job training, mental health support, and case management. Despite our best efforts, the growing demand for these services far exceeds our available resources.

We are reaching out to local businesses like yours to request donations and sponsorships that will enable us to expand our programs and reach more individuals in need. By contributing to our cause, you will not only help provide immediate relief and support to those facing homelessness but also demonstrate your commitment to making Indiana County a better place for everyone.

Your partnership could take various forms, including but not limited to:
– **Monetary Donations**: Financial support that can be directed toward our outreach and program efforts. These can be one time or recurring donations.

– **In-Kind Donations**: Items such as hygiene products that can directly benefit our clients or office supplies that support our program.

– **Sponsorship Opportunities**: Support for our upcoming events, such as ABATE Ride and Dine; Night with a Bed- A- Thon; Monopoly Night or “It’s Going to be a Wonderful Life Gala” that aims to raise awareness and funds for our programs.

Description of Artwork Contest: In honor of America’s upcoming birthday, the tourist bureau is excited to invite local high school students to participate in a special artwork project that reflects the spirit of this historic milestone. This is your chance to have your masterpiece showcased in the tourist bureau’s official 2026 Annual Event Wall Calendar.

How to Participate: Students are encouraged to create original artwork that represents America’s 250^th birthday and its significance. Whether it’s through drawing, painting, or any other form of visual art (AI not accepted), your work should reflect your interpretation of the spirit of America as we approach this historic anniversary. Think about people, landmarks, events, and ideas that make America unique.

Indiana Art Association Announces 24th Annual Arts Camp for Local Youth

Indiana, PA – The Indiana Art Association proudly announces its 24th Annual Arts Camp, a weeklong summer program designed to inspire and educate young artists through immersive experiences in art, music, and theater. This year’s camp will run from July 21–25, 2025, at Indiana Senior High School, with a student showcase at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25.

Open to students who have completed grades 1 through 12, Arts Camp offers a rotating schedule of classes in small group settings to foster creativity, collaboration, and skill development. Campers will enjoy instruction in the visual and performing arts from a dedicated team of educators.

Daily sessions run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with campers grouped by grade level for age-appropriate programming. Tuition is $125 for grades 1–6 and $150 for grades 7–12. The registration deadline is July 1, 2025, and early registration is encouraged due to limited class sizes.

In an effort to make art accessible to all, the Indiana Art Association offers two scholarship opportunities:

*   The Alice O’Dell Tuition Scholarship is awarded to one camper to attend Arts Camp. Campers must be recommended by two arts-related teachers.

*   The Ben Loreno Memorial Award provides a $200 scholarship to a graduating senior who has attended the camp for at least two years and plans to continue arts studies post-high school.

To help DCNR learn about the diversity of organisms in our parks, you’re invited to compete with other parks in a state-wide Bio Blitz competition during June!

To participate, download the iNaturalist app on your phone (it’s free!), create an account, and start uploading observations found in your favorite parks! Using the app, simply take a photo of the plant, animal, or fungi that you discover, and iNaturalist will fill in the time, date, identification, and location automatically. It’s a fun and easy way for all ages to learn ID and contribute to science!
