Not even the Great Wall of China could stop us from uncovering the reason why our cat needed an unexpected visit to the vet, especially if we thought we were being lied to.

Cat allergies are no joke. We're not talking about the hoomans with a sneezing problem, we're talking about cats with legitimate food allergies, like beef, fish, chicken, or sometimes even lamb or rabbit. When their cat had an allergic reaction to the same food they've been buying for years, our pawrent complained to their (very widely known) feline food brand and demanded to know why their "non-chicken" food all of a sudden had chicken in it. The company answered them, but as soon as they demanded compensation, the company ghosted them.

The pawrent in Reddit's r/Pets subreddit did some research and found that they did change some formulas in 2019, but not their package of whitefish food. And yet, their cat still had an episode which caused them to be rushed to the vet because of an extreme allergy… to chicken. No one can explain it, but something here seems fishy, and it's not just the cat food.

Sometimes one knock at the door comes with whiskers, ticks, and a future house cat attached.

This orange boy really walked straight into a classic Reddit r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit moment when he showed up at somebody's front door looking rough and desperately needing help. Matted fur, covered in ticks, skinny, starving, and still somehow sweet enough to trust people after everything he had clearly been dealing with outside.

The difference one week made for this cat already sounds huge. Instead of struggling outside, now he is getting regular meals, flea and tick treatment, deworming medicine, baths, and warm places to sleep. Going from exhausted and dirty to freshly cleaned up and laying in somebody's lap is such a massive upgrade for a cat who probably hasn't had much comfort in a long time.

He also sounds unbelievably affectionate already. Cats that immediately lean into pets and attention after being rescued always hit extra hard because it feels obvious how badly they wanted safety and kindness. But one thing is certain, and that is cats never cease to surprise us. Whether it's with a new fur coat discovered, or some new behavior documented - we think we know cats, but they always find new ways to surprise us. And yes, even the most experienced of fostering people, who probably saw everything the stray cat population has to offer, can still be caught by surprise. It's not every day that you get to see such a maternal tomcat, caring so gently for foster kittens. Seriously, who could ever hate cats? We even know many people who are literally allergic to cats, but still love them dearly. This rescuer in Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit really never stood a chance once Cirrus started meowing from the side of the road. After stopping to check things out, there was no way he was getting left behind. The plan at first was just to safely bring him to a shelter, but that changed pretty fast once the photos started happening. Tiny kittens have a way of making themselves impossible to give up after about five minutes.

The name Cirrus fits perfectly too. A fluffy little white kitten with a gray tuft named after clouds is ridiculously cute. He already sounds like one of those cats who permanently looks soft and slightly scruffy in the best way possible.

The shift from "temporary rescue" to full cat parent mode happened immediately too. One trip for supplies later and suddenly there was a little bed, litter box, and a whole setup waiting at home for him. That is usually how these stories go. We all know that cats possess the rare talent of finding themselves in the most bizarre situations. Just last week, our cat managed to jump behind the fridge, and of course, he then couldn't get out. After he managed to rescue the kitten and get her out of the grocery store parking lot they found themselves in, he took her to the only place he could count on: home, right to the arms of his loving girlfriend. At home, the wife set eyes on the tiny kitten in distress and immediately started working on helping her recover from the experience. Together, this awwdorable couple did everything to make sure the kitten sees another day. After a few days of close monitoring and nursing, the kitten started to grow and become a fully functioning, fluffy feline. By then, the couple had already decided they were going to keep the baby and welcome her to the family.

We're not sure if a life as an indoor cat will necessarily keep this kitten out of trouble, but we know her loving hoomans would do anything to make sure she is always safe and healthy. We're just happy she has a loving home to recover in.

Cats have a meowsterious power to waltz into your life and make you think it was your idea. The kicker is that where there's one cat, there's usually more, so before you know it, you've gone from 0 to 4 cats in less than 24 hours. It's not like we have purrsonal experience with this or anything. We've only three cats, and they were all within the same week. Once the CDS decides that you're ready for a cat, it might not stop until you've reached your full capacity.

But whether you're looking for a feline friend or not, you know you can't turn your back on an animal in need, especially one with young babies who need your love and purrtection. After a couple posted a video on their Instagram page of their favorite feral cat introducing them to her backyard babies, they couldn't not start to care for them and bring them inside. They got mama cat spayed, so they wouldn't have any more surprises on their back patio, and were able to get two of the four kittens adopted (together). The other two they kept for themselves, naming them 'Chips' and 'Grey'. Mama stayed outside but hasn't left their backyard so she can still play with her baby boys whenever she wants.

Two tiny kittens somehow ended up hidden in a gutter until one of them apparently rolled right out into the grass and started screaming for help. After hearing crying earlier in the day but not being able to find the source, the family finally spotted the little girl kitten while getting ready to make dinner. She got brought inside, warmed up, and immediately kicked off a full kitten rescue mission complete with emergency supply runs and formula.

Then came the second kitten. While trying to make dinner again, somebody made cat-calling noises outside and suddenly heard screaming back from the gutter. This post contains a can of worms (or catnip) that we shouldn't have opened.

If you've been a fan of I Can Has Cheezburger for a while, you know how crazy we are for cats. We eat, sleep, and breathe cats. We don't mean that figuratively, our cats sleep all around us (including on our faces) every night, we breathe in probably 2 lbs. of cat hair every day. and now, thanks to our delicious research, now we eat them. Well, we eat foods that are in the purrfect shape of our precious feline friends. Now that we've opened this can of worms into the finest feline-shaped foods the world has to offer, any food that's not cat-shaped just doesn't taste as good.

Why eat a normal strawberry when you can eat a strawberry with cute little cat ears? Why would you settle for normal pancakes when you can have cute neko-pancakes ("neko" means cat in Japanese) with little cat confections sprawling out of the side? You just can't. Everything tastes bland to us now that we've expurrienced the fine flavors of food shaped like cats. Not only are they tasty, but they're cute to boot!

You can find most of these treats in Japan, because the Japanese love cats almost as much as we do, but some of these you can even make at home! Like the cat-shaped pizza, fur example, or even a chocolatey cat cake pop. If something savory is more to your liking, why not bake some matcha bread in a cat-shaped tin or cat dinner rolls with smiley kitty faces?

We must warn you, though: once this snacking starts, it will be hard to stop. Our commentary on this story is going to be divided into two parts, because we have a lot to say about it. The first part will be the pawsitive take on it - she deserves at least that much. For now, though, it's time to give some flowers where they're due.

Khloé Kardashian has over 283 million Instagram followers and a similar amount on X, meaning that when she says something, around 500 million people hear it. She openly admitted that, by declawing her cats, she did something wrong and is actively advising others not to follow in her footsteps. This is the purrfect use of her platform, and we want to give her a round of appaws for not only taking responsibility for her mistake, but also making a PSA for every other cat owner purrhaps considering the same thing.

Here at I Can Has Cheezburger, we are very proactive about our anti-declawing stance. It's illegal in many parts of the world, and we will throw a big pawty when it's illegal everywhere.

Would you take in 3 baby kittens even if you didn't have any space left in your house?

Cat lovers are truly unique in that, even if they can't fit any more cats in their homes, they will never turn down a cat in need. Even after you've said "no more cats" a hundred times, you'll always find space for a few more. It's impawssible for us not to, because if we don't, who will?

Millions of kittens are born every year, and only a fraction of them get adopted and live in our homes. The rest, if they are lucky, become neighborhood strays that are cared for by several families. The rest become feral cats and continue to increase the cat population because, if you didn't know, cats can have around 3 - 5 litters of kittens per year. Assuming each litter is around three kittens (and that's being very conservative), that's a minimum of 9 extra cats every year for every unfixed stray mama cat out there. Do you see how this became such a big problem in such a short amount of time?

But thanks to the wholesome heroes like this kitten rescuer below, there are 3 less kittens out there in the wild right now, and even if they can't keep them furrever, they'll certainly stay off the streets as long as they have anything to say about it. After seeing some tiny things moving in a plastic crate in 95-degree heat in front of some local kids, they went over to investigate. The kids were selling the kittens for $20 each. We can only hope that their parents aren't using their cat's kittens as a side business for a little extra cash.

They bought all of the kittens for a whopping $31, and brought them to their cool, air-conditioned house where they were given water and wet food. Now that spring is here, kitten season is upon us, and shelters are expected to be pawsitively packed to the brim with fresh cats and kittens. They know they will probably end up having to foster them, which will prove challenging due to already having two 8-year-old cats. But with kittens so cute, how could they pawssibly say no?
