Antimatter Triggers Largest Explosion Ever Recorded in Universe

Just when we think that we have enough to worry about, global warming, earthquakes, volcanoes, asteroids, tsunamis... Now astronomers are finding that huge explosions from galaxies far away could potentially wipe life out on Earth. Yep, thats right, another thing to worry about.

Paranormal Activity

So I finally watched the movie Paranormal Activity last night. My Mom had raved about it so I thought I would see if it was that scary. Honestly I found it a little amusing and not very scary. It did however make me think about a movie I watched when I was a kid and still think about to this day. It is called The Entity. Here is the link to the imdb website about it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082334/.

It is basically about this woman who is being terrorized and raped by this invisible being. It even happens in front of her kids. Well suposidely the movie is based on a real woman and there was some effort to even catch the thing. It freaked me out as a kid. The thought that it could have possibly been based on fact has given me the creeps as an adult.

I have included the trailer for your viewing pleasure. There are a lot more videos on YouTube as well. What if it were real? Yikes...

Human World

Here is a site a came across with some crazy facts about humans and different civilizations. I was amazed at the variation of humanity around the world when I took Anthropology in college. We are all human but we act very different depending on the culture we were raised in. Some cultures do things that we think are incredibly wrong, and we do things other cultures think are wrong. What exactly does it mean to be human? Here is the link to the site: Human World

However this is an interesting site that discusses some of the most revealing experiments done. Gives a real insight on humanity and it ain't that great.

Alien Spirituality

Alien Spirituality

Author: Candace Talmadge
Is spirituality a uniquely human attribute and experience? Do intelligent non-human beings exist and, if so, do such beings have religious beliefs or even souls?

At least one major world religion has indicated that its answer to such questions may well be no, yes, and yes, in that order. In a recent interview with Italian newspaper L’Osservatore Romano, the Vatican’s chief astronomer, the Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, said there is no conflict between believing in extraterrestrial intelligent life and believing in God.

“How can we exclude that life has developed elsewhere?” Rev Funes asks, a point based on faith and logic, given the extraordinarily high number of planets with suns and atmospheres similar to those of earth.

But the Catholic Church’s top astronomer goes even further, implying that some aliens might not have been subject to the separation from God described in Genesis. “There could be (other beings) who remained in full friendship with their creator,” Rev. Funes adds.

While the premise of intelligent non-human life is one of the driving themes of science fiction and fantasy, most creative works in these genres eschew any direct talk of alien spirituality, religion, or faith. There are some notable exceptions, however, that are worth exploring because they help us examine our own spirituality and the limitations we may have placed on it, however unconsciously.

Enemy Mine, a 1985 science fiction film derived from Barry B. Longyear’s award-winning 1979 novella, depicts an intergalactic war between human beings and an alien race called the Drac. Marooned by their battle-damaged space fighters on an isolated, inhospitable planet, a Drac and a man start off as enemies. Out of survival necessity, however, they make a wary peace.

Eventually, the two become the dearest of friends. The Drac has a faith and a sense of his own spirituality and the divine that his human counterpart can readily identify as such. The Drac reads frequently from a small book of religious/philosophical text that hangs around his neck, and often sits outside at sunset, pondering the larger questions of life and meaning and speaking about them with his newfound human companion.

Ultimately, the alien’s faith and friendship motivate the human being to consider something other than his prestige as a top-scoring fighter pilot focused solely on advancing his military career. The alien reminds the man that life is so much more than just a scramble for conquest and material success. The Drac even rescues the man from being eaten by one of the planet’s preditors, and suffers for it later. The human being is much better off for having learned to respect and even love an alien as a being of great faith and courage.

An example of fantasy that directly addresses spirituality is the Green Stone of Healing(R) series. It features an intelligent non-human being, known as a Mist-Weaver, who exhibits capabilities that human beings more readily ascribe to angels or the supernatural. The Mist-Weaver is able to appear and dissolve at will, transitioning from material to non-material realities in much the same manner as the divine heralds of earthly religious traditions.

As would an angel, the Mist-Weaver takes a physical form to converse easier with the human characters. The Mist-Weaver clearly has a profound sense of the divine and his connection to it and to all life, and tries to encourage that spiritual connection in his human counterparts. But his spiritual teachings often leave them baffled because they are very different from the more limited human understanding. The Mist-Weaver’s presence spurs his human students to examine the limitations of their faith and their spiritual understanding, just as the burning bush, signaling God’s presence, presented Moses with challenges of faith and self-growth.

Although the Mist-Weaver is more spiritually advanced than the human beings he interacts with, he does not try to dictate human behavior or beliefs, solve human problems, or protect his human students from the consequences of their actions. He’s no deus ex machina waving a magic wand and righting all wrongs. In taking a hands-off approach, he might seem indifferent to some, but just the opposite is true. He heals one character of a broken finger and further injuries and often tries to comfort others in their most desperate hours.

The Mist-Weaver simply refuses to intervene out of his abiding respect for and more advanced understand of the true meaning of free will. Well-intentioned human beings often disregard others’ free will and rush in, foolishly, where wiser angels fear to tread. Perhaps that’s what makes this alien truly strange. The Mist-Weaver doesn’t suffer from that all-too-human inclination to run other people’s lives or to believe that God is a similar micro-manager.

A third example of speculative fiction portraying intelligent non-human beings with a highly developed spirituality is Alien Nation, both a pilot TV film and short-lived Fox Network TV series of the same name. Most of these on-screen “Newcomers” are just regular folks, although there are villains in their midst, too. But the average alien Joes and Jills have jobs, houses, children, and try to live peacefully among their human counterparts. They also have extensive religious rituals and traditions that are depicted throughout the series.

Like Enemy Mine and the Green Stone of Healing(R) series, Alien Nation directly states that non-human beings can teach the human variety a thing or two about life and spirituality. The Newcomer police officer is paired with a human detective who is initially very unhappy about the arrangement. But the former earns the latter’s respect and affection through his courage, smarts, initiative, and loyalty. The Newcomer demonstrates that these enduring and spiritual character qualities are not the sole province of human beings. Again, the human being is better off for having come to know the alien.

On planet earth, closed off and isolated by the only too human fear that spirituality is just a mirage, many find the former a far more alien concept than the supposition of non-human intelligent beings. Yet all of us, although we may not use spiritual terms to describe our longings, hunger for a sense of community and belonging, a sense of self and of our unique place in this vast universe.

In other words, we long to live our spirituality and its implied relationship with God, however we conceive God to be and by whatever name we call the divine. Yet we struggle with our greatest human fear: that having lost our creator’s “full friendship,” in the words of the Vatican astronomer, we will never be sufficient or worthy enough to reclaim that ultimate spiritual relationship.

Aliens may give God far more credit than we do. If/when the day comes that we openly encounter intelligent non-human beings, we may find that the experience brings us much closer to reclaiming and living our own spirituality than we ever believed possible.

We can always choose to embrace the unknown—the alien—instead of fearing it.

Well I came across quite a site. You can find information about every conspiracy theory, government coverup, etc. that you can think of. Underground cities, aliens, chemtrails just to name a few. It is definitely an interesting read if you have some time to blow. The site is well researched I guess, at least the information sounds convincing. Of course I am not going to believe it because I read it and I am certainly not going to lose sleep over things, that even if they are true, I have no control over. In the end the only thing I have control of in this life is me right now in this moment. Not yesterday because it already happened, and not tomorrow because who knows what that holds.

Check out the site and let me know what you think.

Besides all the other unknowns I can write about, there is another subject that fascinates me to no end. That subject is the subject that has consumed phycisists since Einstein, where did it all start? The Big Bang to String Theory and beyond. If you have not taken the voyage down the rabbit hole of the Theory of Everything, you need to. I am a habitual Science Channel watcher, in fact it is my favorite channel. My absolute favorite scientist is Theoretical Physicist, Author, and Professor Michio Kaku. I have included some videos oh him discussing various subjects including String Theory. Just when I thought I have seen every spin on a show about ghosts, Animal Planet has to go and make a new one. This time its the animals who are the center of the ghost stories (accounts). It was actually a pretty interesting show. I don't believe or disbelieve in ghosts personally. I have been scared from things I can't explain but have never seen anything that I could consider proof that ghosts do exist.

I just had to write about this show because I was just amazed that a new spin existed. I tried to add a video of the show off YouTube but they have the embed function blocked. Animal Planet does have a nice site for the show at: http://animal.discovery.com/tv/the-haunted/. Hope you enjoy!

What is Really in Our Food?

2009-12-08T11:29:00.000-08:00

Image via Wikipedia

This is a subject that is pretty important and interesting to me. I have to admit I went a little to the extreme for awhile with reading labels and stressing over what exactly was in our food. I only shopped at Health Food Stores, bought organic, cut out dairy, and at nothing hydrogenated for almost a decade. A lot of this behavior was because my ex was a total freak when it came to stuff like that. I did have a genuine concern for the safety for my children and myself though. These days I have come to the conclusion that stress is the worst thing for human health and while I still try to stay educated about what is in my food, I don't let it consume me.

I did want to share some interesting videos and websites about the subject for your browsing enjoyment.

Vaccine Safety

2009-12-04T00:23:00.000-08:00

Image by Beverly & Pack via Flickr

I have had the conversation about vaccine safety with several mothers over the years. There is a big concern with many that vaccines are really unsafe to give your children and may be responsible for some of the neurological disorders in children like Autism. I remember reading a really great article in Rolling Stone Magazine by Senator Kennedy about vaccines about five years ago. It dealt with the Mercury preservative Thimerosal that has now been banned in most vaccines. However there were some links between the preservative and Autism. There was also a great follow up article called Kennedy Report Sparks Controversy.

According to an article in the Los Angeles Times, Merck & Co., the makers of several vaccines, knew in 1991 that the cumulative amount of mercury in vaccines given to infants by six months of age was about 87 times the level then thought to be safe.

I did immunize my children but I chose not to get the flu vaccine or the pneumonia vaccines for my kids because they still contain Thimerosal in them. However, there are people that are now saying it is not the Thimerosal but the amount of vaccines that we are injecting at one time that are making kids sick. Also, there is some talk about aluminum in vaccines. I found another article in Mothering magazine entitled Is Aluminum the New Thimerosal?

Anyway this is all very interesting to me since I did immunize my kids. They luckily did not seem to have any side effects from the immunizations. My friend has a son that she believes may have been effected by his immunizations and now suffers from mild autistic symptoms.

Either way the articles are at least interesting to contemplate, because knowledge is power and ignorance while blissful can be dangerous. I would love to hear what you think about the subject.

Sumerians and Aliens

So I went to see The Fourth Kind at the theater and it was disturbing to say the least. My boyfriend is a true skeptic of anything but that based on science so we had some interesting discussions about the movie afterwards. If you haven't seen the movie, it is worth seeing in my opinion. However, after doing my own research I am more leaning toward fiction than fact. A good article about the subject can be found at http://www.examiner.com/x-22738-New-Haven-Movie-Examiner~y2009m9d5-The-real-story-behind-The-Fourth-Kind#.

Are they making us sick for profit?

2009-09-13T21:49:00.000-07:00

Image via Wikipedia

So I have had this conversation with several people and am starting to really wonder. Is it just me or do we seem to be straying from cures and moving toward consistent pattern of medicating for life in the medical industry. I just don't seem to hear many, I was healed stories from people anymore. I hear about someones medical problem and then I hear about the long list of drugs they are taking to keep their problem at bay. Of course the medication that is being taken always includes a long list of side effects, and then the person ends up taking more medication to deal with those as well and on and on...

When I am trying to decide whether I believe that a so called conspiracy theory may have merit. I follow the mighty dollar bill. I ask, is it profitable? Would it be profitable for the medical industry to stop curing people and keep them sick only to feed them prescription medications for life. I would say yes. Of course that isn't enough to make me jump on the bandwagon but I think I will pry a little more. Here are a few videos I found on YouTube. What do you think?

Analysts: Dollar collapse

would result in 'amero'
Think deep recession likely

regardless of Fed's actions

Two analysts who have reconstructed money supply data after the Fed stopped publishing it argue a coming dollar collapse will set the stage for creating the amero as a North American currency to replace the dollar.

The reconstructed M3 data – the broadest measure of money – published on econometrician Gary Kuever's website, NowAndFutures.com, shows M3 increased at a rate of 11 percent in May, compared to 9 percent when the Federal Reserve quit publishing M3 data earlier this year.

Asked why the Fed decided to stop publishing M3 data, Kuever told WND, "The Fed probably wants to hide how much liquidity is being pumped into the market, and I expect the trend to keep pumping liquidity into the market will continue, especially since the economy is slowing down."

Why is this important?

"The trend line in my M3-plus-debt chart is staggering," Kuever said. "There has been a straight, long-term trend line of M3-plus-credit increasing since 2000. Long-term, we are creating inflation and the dollar has lost almost 98 percent of its value in the past 100 years."

Kuever, a retired investor, is concerned that with growing budget and trade deficits "the dollar could collapse."

"Especially if the Fed cannot increase rates, because we have already entered a recession," he said.

Bob Chapman, who issued a reconstructed M3 estimate to the 100,000 subscribers to his newsletter, "The International Forecaster", agrees.

"The world is awash in money and credit," Chapman told WND. "My numbers show M3 increasing at about a 10-percent rate right now."

Chapman believes the U.S. economy entered a recession in February. In his newsletter of Dec. 9 he predicted the Fed would hold interest rates at 5.25 percent.

"The Fed is in a very tough spot here," Chapman wrote, "If they raise rates, the real estate market will collapse, and if they lower rates, the dollar will collapse."

Meeting yesterday, the Federal Reserve Open Market Committee voted, as Chapman had predicted, to hold the overnight lending rates between banks steady at 5.25 percent. This was the fourth straight meeting the Fed had voted not to change rates. In its rate announcement, the Fed affirmed the economy had slowed.

Almost immediately after the announcement of the Fed's decision, the dollar weakened to a new 20-month low against the euro, with currency markets reportedly pricing in the expectation the Fed will be forced to lower rates next year to bolster the economy. Following the announcement by the Fed, the U.S. Dollar Index, or USDX, also dropped, with the dollar going below 83.

A dollar collapse is imminent, Chapman declared.

"Technicians studying the USDX think there is a support level for the dollar at 75, but I don't think so."

How low could the dollar go?

"If the dollar breaks through 78.33 on the USDX," Chapman answered, "my guess is the dollar will go through a 35-percent correction, which would put it at 55."

"The key in how low the dollar goes is the interest rates," Chapman told WND. "In January, the Fed is going to have to make a decision which way to go. If Fed rates go up, the dollar will hold in the 78.33 range, but the stock market and the economy will tank. If next year the Fed lowers rates to keep the economy from crashing, the bottom will fall out of the dollar, and I see it going as low as 55. Once the dollar hits bottom, it will take the stock market and the economy right with it anyway. The Fed is in a box they can't get out of."

As WND reported earlier this week, in an unusual move, the Bush administration is sending virtually the entire economic "A-team" to visit China for a "strategic economic dialogue" in Beijing Thursday and Friday. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke are leading the delegation, along with five other cabinet-level officials, including Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez. Also in the delegation will be Labor Secretary Elaine Chao, Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt, Energy Secretary Sam Bodman, and U.S. Trade Representative Susan Schwab.

But Chapman doubts the trip will help the Fed to engineer a slow dollar slide.

"The Chinese are going to do what the Chinese want to do, not what we want them to do," he said. "I believe the Chinese are going to send Treasury Secretary Paulson and Fed Chairman Bernanke home packing, with little or nothing to show for the trip."

How severe will the coming dollar collapse be?

"People in the U.S. are going to be hit hard," Chapman warned. "In the severe recession we are entering now, Bush will argue that we have to form a North American Union to compete with the Euro."

"Creating the amero," Chapman explained, "will be presented to the American public as the administration's solution for dollar recovery. In the process of creating the amero, the Bush administration just abandons the dollar."
