Recently there is a lot in the news and media about the Mosque controversy near ground zero.  There have been staged protests, media commentaries and plenty of well written blogs.   But it makes me sad to see so much said out of ignorance and anger.  And yet as I read all of the anti-muslim rhetoric, I wonder what happened to the multicultural acceptance.

In Response to Eathan’s article about where to meet black men, I thought I would write up a quick little guide to where to meet white women.  A lot of the places Eathan named are great places to meet white women too, but I have a couple hidden gems to share.  However, I do want to start this article off with a disclaimer.  Don’t think this is a magic list, just because you attend something on this list does not mean you are going to find the woman you had been searching for.  You want to make sure to do things that actually interest you.  And this goes for both men and women.  For instance don’t go to a Celtic’s game and meet someone there and expect to never have to watch a game again.

As a recently divorced father, I currently have full custody of my kids. My ex-wife is Canadian so in case you don’t know they are mixed; however you’d never know it if you look at them. They look like both parents are black and one of the parents must be light skinned. As my mother-in-law previously said, I do mix well. And I think that was one of the things that attracted me to my ex-wife, how my kids would look.

I have a diverse dating resume.  I have never limited myself to only dating my own race.  I have dated white men, black men, and Hispanic men.  My ideal man is tall, dark, and handsome though.  I love the smooth chocolate velvetiness of a black man’s skin and their physique.  Regardless of skin color, I am attracted to a confident man with a wicked sense of humor.

Back in 1990 I was stationed at Ft Carson, Co. Me and two friends, both black had left the club and were in line at Denny’s which was right off of Academy Blvd. All three of us were Soldiers so we had jobs, money, cars, etc etc. Now as we were in line, I noticed there were two black females to our rear and two white females to our front. Well one of my boys made an attempt to holler at the two black girls. He was soon followed by my other partner. They spent a good 10 minutes or so cracking jokes trying their hardest. But the girls just weren’t having it and after several failed attempts they gave up.

I listened to Dr. Laura’s conversation with Jade a couple of times.  I had a lot of mixed feelings about their exchange.  As Dr. Laura went on I feel like she got more offensive.  In the beginning I thought she was trying to understand Jades situation and trying to offer her own personal opinion. It may not be right but she is entitled to her own opinion but after she repeated the N word and then said “if you are too hypersensitive then don’t date out your race” I thought she was totally out of line.  Poor Jade was put in an awful situation and was calling to get support and share her story but instead was slammed and given no compassion.  What it boils down to is that if Jade feels uncomfortable with the comments her friends are making they should respect her position and be sensitive around that particular topic.  I have plenty of friends that joke around with me because I’m white and I joke with them about them being black but not everyone is that open and/or sees the humor in that.

A few weeks ago I was out to dinner with a close friend, JB46.  She’s an attractive white woman with shoulder length brown hair and green eyes.  JB46 and I have known each other for several years.  At one time we worked out at the same gym and would meet at Starbucks for a quick game of backgammon.  So it’s normal for us to get together every few months.  Like most friends that don’t see each other on a regular basis, we usually spend some time catching up on each other’s life.  And since I haven’t talked to her in a 6+ months, we had plenty of things to discuss.
