One of the best things about living in a community that has a active social calendar is the opportunity to meet your single neighbors.  And in normal Eathan fashion, I take advantage of meeting new people.  Most of the time I avoid hooking up with any of my neighbors, because nothing good can happen.  They usually get too attached and cause drama over every woman visiting my house.

After all of the crazy things that have happened in the last month or so, there was a bright spot in my life.  Of course, it’s one of my boys.  Last year Alpha Boy called me to spend the day with him on Mother’s Day.  We had a great time and it some fashion that was one of the ultimate compliments a single dad could get.  So this year for Alpha Boy’s birthday he had a choice of things he could do or get.  As a teenage boy who loves sports, he chose going to the NBA All Star game.

Recently I had a very intense discussion with a 28 yr old white female friend.  She was very upset because her ex-boyfriend gave her a STD.  I found out that she has genital Herpes.  Like most normal 28 yr olds, she was crying and furious.  As a friend, I simply tried to comfort her and show her that it’s not the end of the world.
