I was happy to see a large selection of ready-to-hang drapery. I’m wanting to change out my dark teal living room curtains for something lighter for summer. I’ll need 8 panels, so this is definitely an affordable option. I was also smitten over these two console tables above, particularly the mirrored one. Hello, Gorgeous! Also, coming soon to a Bouclair near you…wallpaper! Looking forward to checking out the selection.

Apparently, the Pacific Black Brant needs to rest and refuel on a little eel grass before the next leg of its journey to the Arctic. The likes of me, and other dogs, will scare them off to the Pacific Ocean without any supper. Well, I couldn’t go on without my supper, so I’ll stay off the beaches on Vancouver Island for the next month. All this for a silly goose!

Last year I had so much fun using temporary tattoos to decorate Easter eggs, that I had to do it again. This time with a more personal touch! ;)  I’ve hidden another tattooed Easter egg for you on instagram. Click here to find it!

The nearest retail location was a three hour drive and a pain-in-the-butt-border-crossing away in Washington State. Oh, how things have changed! Crate&Barrel, a leading home furnishings retailer, just opened its first store in Vancouver in Oakridge Centre. Yipee!

I had the pleasure of attending the Opening Night Party with a quick media preview before eager shoppers arrived last Wednesday evening. My sis-in-law, Lesa, joined me and lent her photographic skills. (Thanks, Lesa!) Here are a few goodies that caught our eye.

Oh, I do! Typeseat, a limited edition screen print by Tim Fishlock, uses classic chairs to represent the letters of the alphabet. Hello! Do you recognize all the chairs? The letter “T” does not look familiar to me, maybe I need to stand on my head to see it.

Here’s what the designer has to say about this work:

“A lot of my work explores symbols and the idea of pictorial shorthand. I’m fascinated by the alphabet, how most of the letters began as pictures, icons from another era. Social and cultural change and aesthetic trends have been reflected in the Roman alphabet as it’s been refined over the centuries. Few objects reflect this cultural change as distinctly as the chair. An Eames lounger or a Panton chair are effective shorthand for the aesthetic trends of the day.

Typeseat is my attempt at creating a pictorial alphabet made up of some of the most iconic chairs of the twentieth century.”

Limited edition prints (300) are available only through twentytwentyone.
