MSNBC host Joy Reid apologized for the controversy about her homophobic blog posts and disparaging statements toward Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) people. Based on the statement of NBC spokesperson, Reid has contacted law enforcement about the issue.

But, she still doesn't think she wrote the anti-gay posts from her blog in the 2000s and she admitted there is no solid evidence that her old blog "The Reid Report" had been hacked.

“I genuinely do not believe I wrote those hateful things because they are completely alien to me but I can definitely understand based on things I have tweeted, have written in the past why some people don’t believe me,” she said at the top of her MSNBC show “AM Joy” on Saturday. “For that I am truly, truly sorry.”

Nevertheless, Politico reported: “Most straight people cringe at the sight of two men kissing,” one of the posts states. “The nature of political correctness is that gay people are allowed to say straight sex is gross, but the reverse is considered to be patently homophobic.”

The Pope is to resign at the end of this month in an entirely unexpected development, the Vatican has confirmed.

The 85-year-old became Pope Benedict XVI in April 2005 following the death of John Paul II.

The reasons behind the head of the Catholic Church's surprise resignation have yet to emerge.

Resignations from the papacy are not unknown, but this is the first in the modern era, which has been marked by pontiffs dying while in office.

At 78, the former Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was one of the oldest new popes in history when elected.

He took the helm as one of the fiercest storms the Catholic Church has faced in decades - the scandal of child sex abuse by priests - was breaking.

Here is his resignation statement in full:

Dear Brothers,

I have convoked you to this Consistory, not only for the three canonizations, but also to communicate to you a decision of great importance for the life of the Church. After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry. I am well aware that this ministry, due to its essential spiritual nature, must be carried out not only with words and deeds, but no less with prayer and suffering. However, in today’s world, subject to so many rapid changes and shaken by questions of deep relevance for the life of faith, in order to govern the bark of Saint Peter and proclaim the Gospel, both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me. At the end of this year, Newsweek Magazine will stop producing print content and shift all content to its online magazine Newsweek Global. In a move that seems to echo the future of print media in general, they have abandoned the hard copy and will be producing content solely for tablets and browsers. The move was explained as being a far more cost-effective, more efficient means to reach readers in the global market. Some of the content will also be released on their sister site The Daily Beast.

They were quick to say that the magazine was not saying good-bye, but was instead just shifting to purely digital distribution. However, the change will bring about massive changes to the structure of the organization and will likely cause many an employee to have to find work elsewhere.

The magazine’s last cover is a black and white shot of the old Newsweek building with a hashtag that reads #THELASTPRINTISSUE. It will be curious to see how online distro will affect what was once one of the the big boys in print media.

I know what you are thinking. You are thinking, what’s a movie tradesman doing out here? You know they are all left wingers out there, left of Lenin. At least that is what people think. That is not really the case. There are a lot of conservative people, a lot of moderate people, Republicans, Democrats, in Hollywood. It is just that the conservative people by the nature of the word itself play closer to the vest. They do not go around hot dogging it.

(APPLAUSE)

So - but they are there, believe me, they are there. I just think, in fact, some of them around town, I saw John Voigt, a lot of people around.

(APPLAUSE)

John’s here, an academy award winner, a terrific guy. These people are all like-minded, like all of us.

So I - so I’ve got Mr. Obama sitting here. And he’s - I was going to ask him a couple of questions. But - you know about - I remember three and a half years ago, when Mr. Obama won the election. And though I was not a big supporter, I was watching that night when he was having that thing and they were talking about hope and change and they were talking about, yes we can, and it was dark outdoors, and it was nice, and people were lighting candles.

They were saying, I just thought, this was great. Everybody is trying, Oprah was crying.

(LAUGHTER)

EASTWOOD: I was even crying. And then finally - and I haven’t cried that hard since I found out that there is 23 million unemployed people in this country.

(APPLAUSE)

Now that is something to cry for because that is a disgrace, a national disgrace, and we haven’t done enough, obviously - this administration hasn’t done enough to cure that. Whenever interest they have is not strong enough, and I think possibly now it may be time for somebody else to come along and solve the problem.

So, Mr. President, how do you handle promises that you have made when you were running for election, and how do you handle them?

I mean, what do you say to people? Do you just - you know - I know - people were wondering - you don’t - handle that OK. Well, I know even people in your own party were very disappointed when you didn’t close Gitmo. And I thought, well closing Gitmo - why close that, we spent so much money on it. But, I thought maybe as an excuse - what do you mean shut up?

(LAUGHTER)

OK, I thought maybe it was just because somebody had the stupid idea of trying terrorists in downtown New York City.

(APPLAUSE)

I’ve got to to hand it to you. I have to give credit where credit is due. You did finally overrule that finally. And that’s - now we are moving onward. I know you were against the war in Iraq, and that’s okay. But you thought the war in Afghanistan was OK. You know, I mean - you thought that was something worth doing. We didn’t check with the Russians to see how did it - they did there for 10 years.

(APPLAUSE)

But we did it, and it is something to be thought about, and I think that, when we get to maybe - I think you’ve mentioned something about having a target date for bringing everybody home. You gave that target date, and I think Mr. Romney asked the only sensible question, you know, he says: "Why are you giving the date out now? Why don’t you just bring them home tomorrow morning?"

And I thought - I thought, yeah - I am not going to shut up, it is my turn.

(LAUGHTER)

So anyway, we’re going to have - we’re going to have to have a little chat about that. And then, I just wondered, all these promises - I wondered about when the - what do you want me to tell Romney? I can’t tell him to do that. I can’t tell him to do that to himself.

(APPLAUSE)

You’re crazy, you’re absolutely crazy. You’re getting as bad as Biden.

(APPLAUSE)

Of course we all now Biden is the intellect of the Democratic party.

Kind of a grin with a body behind it.

But I just think that there is so much to be done, and I think that Mr. Romney and Mr. Ryan are two guys that can come along. See, I never thought it was a good idea for attorneys to the president, anyway.

I think attorneys are so busy - you know they’re always taught to argue everything, and always weight everything - weigh both sides.

They are always devil’s advocating this and bifurcating this and bifurcating that. You know all that stuff. But, I think it is maybe time - what do you think - for maybe a businessman. How about that?

A stellar businessman. Quote, unquote, "a stellar businessman."

And I think it’s that time. And I think if you just step aside and Mr. Romney can kind of take over. You can maybe still use a plane.

(APPLAUSE)

Though maybe a smaller one. Not that big gas guzzler you are going around to colleges and talking about student loans and stuff like that.

(APPLAUSE)

You are an - an ecological man. Why would you want to drive that around?

OK, well anyway. All right, I’m sorry. I can’t do that to myself either.

I would just like to say something, ladies and gentlemen. Something that I think is very important. It is that, you, we - we own this country.

We - we own it. It is not you owning it, and not politicians owning it. Politicians are employees of ours.

(APPLAUSE)

And - so - they are just going to come around and beg for votes every few years. It is the same old deal. But I just think it is important that you realize , that you’re the best in the world. Whether you are a Democrat or Republican or whether you’re libertarian or whatever, you are the best. And we should not ever forget that. And when somebody does not do the job, we got to let them go.

Okay, just remember that. And I’m speaking out for everybody out there. It doesn’t hurt, we don’t have to be.

It is hot in the web when Miley Cyrus reportedly took some hot photos for her boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth.

A photo of Cyrus naked in a bathtub covering her breasts showing off her dreamcatcher tattoo and her signature side-boob look. It was taken by friend and photographer Vijat Mohindra. This sexy photo is featured on Mohindra’s website along with several other hot, but fully-clothed photos.

The photo was allegedly intended to be for Liam's eyes only, but it is now prominently featured on Mohindra's website. Request for comment from the photographer's reps were not immediately returned.

It has to be mentioned that the blog "Life of the Rich and Famous" first posted the photo and claims it was taken in 2011, when Cyrus was just 18. Mohindra and Cyrus are known to be close pals as he actually documented the singer's "Gypsy Heart" tour in the spring of 2011.

Regardless of whether or not the photos were meant to be private, it's weird that the photo is reminiscent of Miley's 2008 "Vanity Fair" cover shot by photographer Annie Leibovitz. The cover photo famously featured Cyrus at the age of 15 wearing nothing but a white sheet.

The London 2012 Games are officially open. The spectacular opening ceremony at the Olympic Stadium was directed by Danny Boyle. Legions of performers put on a dazzling pageant celebrating all things British – from the industrial revolution to the NHS.

2012 London Olympics: Mystery Lady Revealed

London: The mystery woman who make a controversy in team India`s at London Olympics 2012 Opening Ceremony has been identified. As per the reports she is Madhura Honey, a postgraduate student, hailing from Bangalore.

A young lady in red shirt and blue trouser was seen leading the Indian contingent in the march past alongside Beijing Games bronze-medal winner Sushil Kumar and her presence had created a lot of buzz as nobody had a clue as to who she was.

In the parade, the Indian men wore traditional blazers and Rajasthani yellow turbans while the female atheletes wore yellow sarees while this lady wore red shirt and blue trouser which get more attention as if she was the leader of the group. The lady`s presence had created a flutter and the Indian media covering the Games, had sought clarification from the team management.

Acting chef de mission of the Indian contingent Brig P K Muralidharan Raja was understandably agitated that a person who was not part of the delegation was allowed to accompany the team and hog the limelight in the process.

"She had no business to walk in with the Indian contingent and we are taking up the issue with the organisers. We don`t know who she is and why she was allowed to walk in. It is a shame that she was with the athletes in the march past", Raja earlier said.

"The Indian contingent was shown for hardly ten seconds in the tv coverage and the entire focus sadly was on this lady, instead of the athletes," Raja rued.

It has also been reported that the woman had uploaded the photographs of her Olympic passes on Facebook and had deactivated her account after her presence stirred a controversy.

The Indians have fielded 81 athletes, the largest ever in the history of the Games, but only 40 athletes and around 11 officials participated in the parade at the opening ceremony, which showcased Great Britain`s rich heritage combined with dazzling fireworks and stunning visual effects.

Madonna Sued Copyright Infringement Over Vogue

Madonna is being sued over her dance mega hit "Vogue" after a record company claimed that Madonna used their music.

To be more specific, the record company named "VMG Salsoul" filed the lawsuit against Madonna in L.A., claiming that The Queen of Pop sampled the horns and strings from "Salsoul Orchestra's" 1977 dance song "Chicago Bus Stop (Ooh, I Love It)."

According to the lawsuit, Madonna never paid to use the samples and has illegally profited off the instrumentals since she released "Vogue" in 1990.

Why it takes so long for the company to file the case? "VMG Salsoul" reason out that the samples aren't obvious. It was only recently detected, thanks to new technology that can help isolate and identify individual sounds.

"VMG Salsoul" is now filing a lawsuit against Madonna for copyright infringement, demanding unspecified damages.

Tom Cruise managed to maintain his hairline through all these years. Cruise surprisingly continues to keep his remarkably full hairline.

UN Transition Plan Rejected by Syrian Opposition

The U.N.-brokered peace plan for Syria’s political transition was rejected by Syrian opposition groups. The opposition say that it was a waste of time and ambiguous.

An international conference in Geneva on Saturday accepted international envoy Kofi Annan's plan that calls for the creation of a transitional government, but at Russia's insistence the compromise agreement left the door open to Syria's president being part of it.

Bassam Kodmani, spokesperson for the Syrian National Council opposition umbrella group, says the agreement is "ambiguous" and lacks a mechanism or timetable for implementation.

Haitham Maleh, a Veteran Syrian opposition figure, says the agreement was "a waste of time" and pledged Sunday not to sit with President Bashar Assad or members of his "murderous" regime.

The Last Pinta Island Tortoise Died

Lonesome George, the last Pinta Island tortoise has died, leaving the world one species poorer. Lonesome George was discovered on Pinta Island in 1972 at a time when tortoises of his type were already believed to be extinct. The animal had been part of the park service's tortoise program.

The Galapagos National Park Service said in a statement “The only remaining Pinta Island tortoise and celebrated conservation icon passed away Sunday”. Estimated to be more than 100 years old, the creature's cause of death remains unclear and a necropsy is planned.Lonesome George's longtime caretaker, Fausto Llerena, found the tortoise's remains stretched out in the "direction of his watering hole" on Santa Cruz Island.

"Later two females from the Espanola tortoise population (the species most closely related to Pinta tortoises genetically) were with George until the end," the park service said but the repeated efforts to breed Lonesome George failed.

In honor of Lonesome George, the park service said it was convening an international workshop in July on management strategies for restoring tortoise populations over the next decade.

The Galapagos Islands, situated about 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) off Ecuador's coast, is considered a haven for tortoises.

The Legend of Korra is an American television series set in the Avatar universe as a sequel of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The premiere aired on Nickelodeon on April 14, 2012. However, the first two episodes were first released online on March 24–25, 2012 and were available in high-definition for free on iTunes. The series is currently under production and is expected to run for two seasons and a total of twenty-six episodes, with options for more. The co-creators of the original series, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, will personally write all of the episodes to allow for a tighter storyline.

After the failed marriage of Kim Kardashian to his soon-to-be ex-husband Kris Humphries, she wasted no time in moving on with rapper Kanye West. The Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger heartily approves it.

Although Kim is in the middle of a messy divorce and she's only been dating Kanye a couple of months, Patti truly believes that Kim will marry Kanye. "This is a good, good fit for her, and I hope that Kris, her mother, gives the blessing because I think they'll end up getting married. I really do," Stanger told HollywoodLife.

"They have the attraction, (Kanye's) got the money, he's got the talent, (Kim's) got the money. She traded up for a change, and this is beyond (ex-boyfriend) Reggie (Bush). It's an equal fit, if not bigger," Stanger claimed.

Lindsay Lohan Explained About 911 Call And Paramedics

After the incident that occurred Friday, Lindsay Lohan felt the need to enlighten, when paramedics were sent to her hotel room following a 911 call that she was "unresponsive."

Early Saturday morning Lindsay tweeted: "Note to self. After working 85 hours in 4days, and being up all night shooting, be very aware that you might pass out from exhaustion. " In her second tweet she wrote: "7 paramedics MIGHT show up @ your door...Hopefully they're cute. Otherwise it would be a real let down. ”

The paramedics raced to Lindsay's room at the Ritz-Carlton hotel after her producers called paramedics when they couldn't reach her after a break.
