I’m working 7 days a week, going to California with my girlfriend in less than a month, and I saw I Love You, Beth Cooper last night and it made my day. Not going to lie, Hayden Panettiere is pretty hot.

She’s in Heroes too. Might have to start watching that.

I’ve decided that Icy.st is mostly going to be for my own email address. I will be using multiple high-availability DNS services for the domain, several backup mx servers located across multiple continents, and a MS Exchange account (with BlackBerry Enterprise enabled, of course!) from Sherweb.

Short of Gmail there’s not much that is more reliable, methinks.

Renewed discuss.nu a month ago (because I LOOOOVE) my domain, and they somehow let it lapse. No worries, all is fixed now… after two days… >:(

I also registered icy.st last night. Pretty cool because it’s a 3-letter one dictionary word domain name. So soon I will have an email @icy.st which will just be pretty awesome. I think I’ll call it Icy Street or something. lol Who knows.

The 4th of July was loads of fun. I’m going back to Indiana and taking a trip to Shelton fireworks… mortars <$15… some <$8.

So, these are my babies. I like them a lot.

Phantom Fireworks had a buy one, get one free sale. So Joe, Jenny, and I drove to Indiana yesterday and indulged. You could mix and match too, so I got a lot of aerials and ground stuff… it’s pretty cool. Looking forward to lighting several hundred dollars worth of fireworks on fire tomorrow.

Earlier I installed Windows 7 on my old computer–thinking it might give me something to do for a couple hours. WRONG! That joy lasted about 30 minutes and then I went “well, gee, what’s different from Vista?”

So now I’m installing OpenSolaris in hopes of maybe finding something to do in that. Sun Java Web Server? Might be a little bit fun? I could make some usage of NetBeans and Java and make some sort of application. Put my http://f.erro.us domain to some use other than a blank index.

I always thought it would be cool to write some sort of code useful for a messaging service. Real-time message delivery over a fast protocol, something like instant messaging but with a completely open protocol that anybody could use. That could be kind of neat. Seems more like a task for stackless python or something of that nature than Java, though.

Bah.

Thankfully, AT&T is releasing the BlackBerry Onyx later this year–hopefully.

…on that note, Research in Motion has a new BlackBerry blog! Check out their post about the new Facebook 1.6 application. Facebook is easily my most commonly used application on my BlackBerry. Unfortunately, 1.6 is extremely slow on my Curve. I’m not the only one to report this. Speed it up, please!

I thought that was kind of funny. As far as I can tell, it was created by the Catholic church. Good sense of humor.

I decided that I’m going to University of St. Francis in the fall to study Information Technology. Yay.

Dinner is almost ready so this post is going to be somewhat short.

Still working at my bulk email job. It pretty much kicks ass.

Uhhhhh. Still going out with the same girl. She kicks ass, too.

I’m going to try and put a post up every day from now on. This will be probably the seventh time I’ve said that.

I put up a new theme. There’s not enough space between paragraphs in my personal opinion but it will have to do for now. Unfortunately I do not have as much time as I would like to play with my own projects now. I did renew the domain name, though.

My good friend Edoardo Bezzeccheri has set up a new blog with all of his photos. He’s a pretty cool guy, and he’s selling prints now. He’s based in Italy if you couldn’t tell by his name–he was an exchange student at my high school during my junior year. You should order some of his prints because they’re great photos. I have one set as my desktop.

It looks like YouTube is having issues and saying all the videos I have embedded have been deleted. Ugh.

Best Buy’s PBX was not picking up my calls to figure out where the hell my camera was, so I called Best Buy’s main line, where I got redirected to Precision Camera. Apparently it is on its way back with a replaced lens assembly, so hopefully that fixed things.

Today I got a call from someone at Westwood College. I completed an application with them and they would like to interview me now. I would be getting a B.S. in Computer Network Management if I went there. That would be useful, I suppose.

I also applied to DePaul today, which would be nice seeing as I have an opportunity to work in the city in the near future, as well. I would be getting a B.S. in Network Technologies there, and that would be outstanding. I really would like to go to DePaul, it seems like a very nice school.

Recently I have been on a kick about attending a university/college in the city of Chicago. It’s close to home, and I have an opportunity to work in the city now, as well. It would be nice to get an apartment/condo in the city (condo moreso, “investing” in a mortgage instead of sinking cash into rent every month). Nearby would be fine, as well; however, it would be nice to be able to walk down the street from my residence—and not live in a dorm! Ugh.

Fortunately, it appears he is yelling straight at the disks from a distance of only millimeters and it doesn’t work from extreme distances. I know most of my time in a data center is spent yelling.

I’m perhaps even more excited about my new job than I was when I first got it. As much as I’ve liked (well, at times) doing technical support—this new job has a lot of opportunity for me to do more things. The money is nowhere near bad, as well.
