A few weeks ago, I met Meg and Ramsey at their lovely house to begin their engagement shoot. I was pretty darn excited given the fact that Meg had planned some fun places for us to shoot. On the list? A bit at home, a walk around the neighborhood, GT campus (hooray for fellow Tech alums!), and the rings at Centennial Olympic Park. Much to my delight, she was also was kind enough to involve their gorgeous Weimaraner, Hudson, in the first part of our adventuring. (Weims and kitties are my favorite animals ever. Nothing turns me into a puppy fangirl more than a Weimaraner.)

Meg and Ramsey (and Hudson!), I had a ton of fun with you guys, and thanks for braving the heat and being such fantastic sports. Most definitely looking forward to an awesome wedding, complete with the Tech Trolley (my arch nemesis) and the Ramblin’ Wreck.

Full disclosure?

I cried a bit.

I’m serious, I really did. For most of it, I was laughing, but for a fair portion of it, I laughed and cried. And clapped at the end.

Maybe I’m just having a mushy Saturday, but yes, watch this, listen to how silly and funny it is, and maybe relate a bit to the pearls of advice in there. If you don’t cry, I won’t judge you– I’m just a sissy and a sap sometimes.

You never know what’s around the corner, unless you peek. Hold someone’s hand while you do it. You will feel less scared. You can’t do this alone. Besides, it’s much more fun to succeed and fail with other people– you can blame them when things go wrong.

Take your risks now, as you become older, you become more fearful and less flexible, and I mean that literally. I hurt my knee on the treadmill this week, and it wasn’t even on.

Try to keep your mind open to possibilities and your mouth closed on matters you don’t know about.

Limit your always and your nevers.

Continue to share your heart with people, even if it’s been broken. And don’t try to give me that nerd argument that your heart is a Batman with a limited-edition silver bat-erang and therefore if it stays in its original packing it increases in value.

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen each other, and I greatly apologize for that. My life has been a swirl of work…which has been TOTALLY AWESOME. I’ve had moments where I mentally stop myself and wonder, “Seriously, is this happening? Is this my life? I must be dreaming.” No joke. Boy, do I have stories to tell. (Granted, I have had a few bumps and bruises along the way– the latest being an epic battle with Delta over them crushing my laptop.)

Anyway, new site! New look! New everything! Just to keep everything together, I slowly and painstakingly built this blogsite, as the kids are calling it these days, from the ground up. It’s still squeaky in a few places, and not everything is uploaded, but it’s getting there. (Galleries? Not all uploaded. Links? Not all there. The frontpage? A random smattering of images– not all the way there yet! Some formatting? Yes, there is still a bit left to do. All of the posts imported from the old blog? Nein.) I just couldn’t wait any longer. I miss blogging. I miss the community. I miss the HEY GUYS LOOK WHAT I DID. I miss showing off my clients.

So yes, with that quintessential Lauren ramble, I’m back!
