If you’ve been reading my blog, I’ve written about Wifey’s hives / urticaria in 2017. Her hives / urticaria was under control but recently it came back and flared up quite badly. Hives / urticaria is common and affects about 20% of people at some point in their lives. 

Wifey’s hives flare up badly especially at night. 

When the hives came back, Wifey has been taking antihistamine (Cetirizine, Zyrtec, Benadryl) which provides temporary relief but the hives continuously flare up every other day. It causes a lot of discomfort and emotional stress.  The turning point was when the antihistamine no longer works as the hives don’t subside after the pill.

 Korean Ginseng (高麗參) with rice water 

A friend recommended to try drinking Korean Ginseng (高麗參) with rice water. The friend has hives too and her hives was cured with this formula. Wifey tried a few times but unfortunately her hives still flared up. 

Finally, we decided to try out TCM ( Traditional Chinese Medicine) acupuncture treatments combined with herbal medicine. 

To TCM, emotions and organs are connected 

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), emotions are a major cause of all illnesses. 

TCM associates each of seven emotions with a specific organ in the body. 

Anger : Liver 

Joy and Shock : Heart

Sadness and Grief : Lungs

Worry : Spleen 

Fear : Kidneys 

Oppression : Spleen, lungs and heart 

TCM Acupuncture Treatment with Heat 

During the treatment, the TCM physician will  examine her pulse to diagnose and determine the appropriate course of treatment. She first started her acupuncture treatments twice a week. After a few treatments of acupuncture and taking herbal medicine, her hives got better. 

TCM Herbal Medicine 

Now, her hives are in control. Wifey is still undergoing TCM treatments and looking forward to full recovery from hives / urticaria. According to Dr Joey, the TCM physician that we are seeing, Wifey’s hives’ due to blood deficiency which leads to Qi deficiency; which is the body’s vital energy. If I’m not mistaken, in western medicine; it’s referred to the immune system. When your immune system is weak, your body is more susceptible to pathogens. 

The TCM physician identifies several potential causes of hives:

• Wind-Heat or Wind-Cold Invasion: External factors such as wind, heat, or cold can invade the body’s defenses, leading to skin reactions like hives.
• Qi and Blood Stagnation: Poor circulation of Qi and blood can cause stasis, resulting in skin eruptions.
• Wind Heat or Blood Heat: Excessive heat in the blood or due to wind can cause symptoms like redness, itching, and swelling.
• Emotional wellbeing : Emotional stress is a significant factor in TCM, as it can create internal heat and disrupt the balance of qi and blood. This imbalance can lead to the frequent occurrence of hives. 

Besides TCM acupuncture and taking herbal medicine, you may also want to include some healthy habits that may help with managing your chronic hives / urticaria :- 

• Get enough sleep 
• Eating a healthy and balanced diet 
• Avoiding cold winds, hot showers, and saunas 
• Wear loose clothing 
• Exercising regularly 
• Avoid raw food like salad , sashimi 
• Avoid alcohol

I’m sure all of you would agree that both washing machine and dryer are essential electrical appliances in every household. Sometime last year ; my washing machine suddenly broke down. The cost to repair was not worth it hence I thought I had better get a new washer.

Government has announced an extension until 31 May 2021 to renew road tax and driving license.  

My car road tax expired in March and usually I’ll renew a week or two weeks earlier together with my car insurance. This year, like usual I renewed car insurance and car road tax two weeks earlier prior to expiry date online via MyEG. You can also renew your car road tax and driving license at any Pos Malaysia outlets in Malaysia but I prefer to do it online because it’s more convenient and saves time.

I’d usually get my road tax delivered to my doorstep after 2-3 working days but this time, after two weeks of waiting, I still haven’t received my road tax yet! At first, I thought my road tax got lost hence I called MyEG a few times but all my calls were unanswered. I also emailed them worrying about my expired road tax.

Finally, MyEG replied to my email stating that the delay was due to the high volume of road tax renewal orders. I supposed it was because MyEG was closed during the MCO period hence there were a lot of backlog orders.

To date, I still haven’t received my road tax yet. If you’re facing the same issue as me, don’t worry!

The government has just extended the exemption for private vehicle owners to renew their driving licences (LM) and motor vehicle licences or road tax (LKM) from April 1 to May 31. However, drivers must have a valid motor vehicle insurance and are able to present their e-cover notes to traffic enforcement personnel upon request. 

So, please take note that if your driving licence and road tax have expired or will expire between Feb 1 and March 31, you must renew them within 60 days from April 1 to May 31.

Where can I renew my road tax & driving license ?

You can renew at Pos Malaysia outlets in Malaysia but do it online via MyEG because it’s more convenient and saves you a lot of time.

As the government has just announced the extension until 31 May for you to renew your road tax, just make sure you have renewed your car insurance and do bring along your e-cover notes when you’re on the road. (In case if there’s a road block)

Just a gentle reminder that you have to complete the AirAsia X POD form and provide all supporting documents (booking confirmation, tax invoices, statement of accounts) and return the completed documents via hard copy and email by 7 April 2021. If you’re unsure on how to fill up the AirAsia X POD Form, you can refer to my post here. 

Recently, AirAsia sent another email regarding the AirAsia X POD Exercise. In the email, they included a link to FAQ for the AirAsia X POD Exercise. The list of FAQ is very useful for those who are participating in the AirAsia X Proof of Debt (POD) Exercise.

I received a lot of messages from readers expressing their concern and asking numerous questions regarding the AirAsia X (POD) Exercise. Some of the questions and concerns include:- 

What if my AirAsiaX (POD) Form cannot reach AirAsia in time? OR What if I am unable to submit the POD Form?

Don’t worry coz it’s stated in the form that “AAX Group reserves the right to rely on its records to ascertain the amount of debt owed to you. You will still be included in the POD exercise.

Who bears the cost incurred in affirming and submitting the POD form?

The cost of affirming/submitting/preparing the POD form shall be borne by each creditor.

Do I need to complete this if I already received my credit account from AAX?Yes as your credit account has not yet been used so you are included as a creditor in this process.

What is the purpose of the POD exercise?
The purpose of the POD exercise is to determine the complete  amount owed to creditors as recorded in AAX Group’s books and records as at 30 June 2020. This is to ensure consistency and because there may be, among others, amounts claimed by creditors which have not been recorded by AAX Group.

When is the last day for me to submit my claims?
The last day for submission of your claims via the POD form and relevant supporting documents is 7 April 2021. This date is also referred to as the “Relevant Date”. 

What happens if I missed the submission by the Relevant Date?
If you missed the submission by the Relevant Date to our physical address at RedQ, Jalan Pekeliling 5, Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur (klia2), 64000 KLIA, Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia, AAX Group reserves the right to rely on its records to ascertain the amount of debt owed to you. You will still be included in the POD exercise.

What supporting documents do I need to attach together with the POD form?
Please provide copies of your booking confirmation, tax invoices, statement of account(s) – for suppliers/vendors only, and/or other documents which could substantiate the total amount claimed. Please note that the documents may also be required for a review by other parties including the independent adjudicator and/or Chairman of the Court Convened Meeting (“CCM”) in the event of a dispute.

If I am outside of Malaysia, who should affirm the POD form?
The POD form should be affirmed by a Commissioner for Oaths (in Malaysia) or such other equivalent qualified person in the jurisdiction where you are based. An equivalent is available in every destination we fly to.

Do I need to submit a hardcopy of the POD form or is submitting the softcopy via electronic mail/Google Forms sufficient?
You must send the original hardcopy by mail to, and be received by AAX Group at our physical address at RedQ, Jalan Pekeliling 5, Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur (klia2), 64000 KLIA, Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia, by the Relevant Date. 
AAX Group will not be able to accept the submission of only softcopies (whether by email, through any online form/website/platform or any similar modes of submission) and will rely on its records to ascertain the amount of debt owed to you if you miss the deadline for the hardcopy to be delivered to the physical address. 
In the event of any discrepancies between amounts and/or information in the softcopies forwarded to AAX Group and hardcopies sent by mail, AAX Group will rely on the hardcopies in its review of the POD claims and/or to determine the amount of debt owed to you.

What if I provide my claim/submission through email/e-form/link but the hardcopy only reaches AAX’s office after the Relevant Date? Will my claim still be admitted?

If the hardcopy only reaches AAX’s office after the Relevant Date, AAX reserves the right whether to:
Accept the submission made through email/e-form/link; or 
Rely on its records to ascertain the amount of debt owed to you

What is the E-Filing number and where do I get this?
The E-Filing number is an identification number which is set out in the email sent to you on 17 March 2021. This E-Filing number is unique to each creditor and is to allow AAX Group to track the submissions made by each creditor.

In filling up the e-form/link online, details of only up to three securities are required to be filled up. What if I have more than three securities?
If you believe that you have more than three types of securities, you may choose to submit another form to detail the other securities that you may have and kindly also ensure that you fill in the E-Filing number in all your submissions.

Which amount of claim will be admitted as owing to me if there is a difference between the amount claimed by me in the POD form and the amount in AAX Group’s records?
AAX Group will take into consideration the claim made by you and supporting documents provided. However, the amount to be admitted as owing to you will be determined by AAX Group. 
If you disagree with AAX Group’s decision, the amount to be admitted for the purposes of voting at the CCM will be decided by an independent adjudicator and/or the Chairman of the CCM (or his alternate).

My claim is not denominated in Ringgit Malaysia. Do I need to convert the amount claimed by me?
Please submit your claim in the currency(ies) in which you have invoiced or have been invoiced by AAX Group. You do not need to convert your claims into Ringgit Malaysia.
In order to ensure consistency in the exchange rates for different creditors, all foreign currency denominated debts will be converted into Ringgit Malaysia based on the exchange rate used by AAX Group as at 30 June 2020 per its accounting system, which is based on exchange rates from Reuters.

Why are my claims being converted into Ringgit Malaysia?
AAX is a company which is domiciled in Malaysia and its functional currency for the purposes of accounting is Ringgit Malaysia.

Who bears the cost incurred in affirming and submitting the POD form?
The cost of affirming/submitting/preparing the POD form shall be borne by each creditor.

What if I do not agree with the decision of the independent adjudicator and/or Chairman of the Court Convened Meeting (or his alternate) on the amount to be admitted for voting purposes at the Court Convened Meeting?
The amount to be admitted for the purposes of voting on the Scheme of Arrangement will be made by the Chairman of the CCM (or his alternate). If you disagree with the decision you may wish to seek relevant advice on the same, including any legal options available. 

Why do I have to submit my response in English ?
Because the court proceedings are in Malaysia therefore the universal language is English.
