It is with sadness (and relief if truth be told lol) that I announce ineedmyfix.com is ending it’s time on the internet. For many reasons it doesn’t make sense to carry on and better things are coming in the future. When it’s time, it’s time. The site will remain up for most of February without new posts.

I have met so many wonderful people throughout my 4 ½ years doing this site, that I couldn’t ask for more. People I truly hope to stay in touch with.

To our readers (seriously we do have the best) and our fabulous linking partners I thank you for all of your support. We couldn’t have done it without you.

To Mary—thank you for giving sophistication, grace and class in covering fashion and making great choices because you know I sure couldn’t do it! (unless Wal-Mart or Winners is a couture house) You made me proud to have you part of the team.

To Sheri—To say I am lucky to have you as a friend in life would be the greatest understatement in the world. I can’t believe my good fortune in knowing you and working with you for the last (almost) two years. Your professionalism, integrity, honesty, sense of humor and friendship made the grind easy. You picked up the slack for me so many times and were always there for me and I am eternally grateful to you.  Working with you felt as natural as breathing. This has been one of the best (if not THE best) working relationships of my life but more than that I have a friend for life. This world is a better place because you are in it.

If any other bloggers are looking for a dependable, fabulous wordsmith with a penchant for movies, Sheri is your girl.

We have some new images from Zack Snyder’s upcoming Man of Steel, including first looks at Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod and Russell Crowe as Jor-El, as well as a new one of Henry Cavill as the titular hero, Superman, who graces the cover of the current Empire magazine. (The guys at Empire refer to Supe as the “Big Blue Boy Scout”.)

The film’s incredible cast also includes Laurence Fishburne and Christopher Meloni. Snyder directed from a script by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight trilogy), who co-wrote the story with Christopher Nolan. Man of Steel will be released in 3D and IMAX theaters on June 14 all over the planet.

Woo Hoo! Explosive Third Trailer for A Good Day to Die Hard

Directed by John Moore and also starring Sebastian Koch, Cole Hauser (who also appears in Olympus Has Fallen with Gerard Butler), Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Amaury Nolasco, Anne Vyalitsyna and Yulia Snigir, the film is set for a release in the US and the UK on February  14.

We’ve got a few new images (as well as a hi-res version of one of the first images we had) from Antoine Fuqua’s Olympus Has Fallen, with Gerard Butler, plus a very cool graphic explaining Secret Service Code Names as well as a couple of highlights from an interview with the director. Last, but certainly not least, Film District, via our friends at GBGals, has shared three brand spanking new images from the film.

When the White House (Secret Service Code: “Olympus”) is captured by a terrorist mastermind and the President is kidnapped, disgraced former Presidential guard Mike Banning finds himself trapped within the building. As our national security team scrambles to respond, they are forced to rely on Banning’s inside knowledge to help retake the White House, save the President and avert an even bigger disaster. Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) directs an all-star cast featuring Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Melissa Leo, Ashley Judd and Rick Yune.

I Am Rogue was lucky enough to sit down with Fuqua to discuss the film just prior to the release of the trailer:

On Gerard Butler:

“I’m a good friend of Gerry Butler’s. I remember when I first saw him in 300. We met a long time ago when I did King Arthur and he wanted to be King Arthur. I don’t really even remember him auditioning for me so he has been mad at me for years,” the director joked. “So we’ve been trying to work together for a longtime. I’ve seen him in these romantic comedies and I wanted to see him kick some ass again and be the guy from 300. I really think we’ve lost a lot of men in our film culture. Gerry is a big guy, he’s handsome, and he’s a talented actor so it’s nice to see him this way.”

On testing the film in Washington DC:

“We tested it already and it scored in the eighties (out of one hundred). It’s interesting because in a movie like this we try to make it as appealing to a broad audience, as exciting, and as fun as we can. It should be exciting. We blow shit up and all kinds of good stuff,” Fuqua explained. “What we managed to do was get great actors, which helps to make it feel authentic and grounded. You know, Morgan Freeman, Melissa Leo, Aaron Eckhart and all those guys. So it has some substance and a sense of reality to it. So we really worked hard on that.”

First Images from Olympus Has Fallen with Gerard Butler

Olympus Has Fallen, which also stars Angela Bassett, Rick Yune, Radha Mitchell, Robert Forster, Cole Hauser and Ashley Judd, will be released in the US on March 22, 19^th April in the UK.

A new trailer will debut for Gore Verbinski’s The Lone Ranger during Sunday’s Super Bowl pre-show and Yahoo has gotten ahold of a teaser for the trailer.  Ordinarily I don’t go in for those, but I’ll make an exception in this case because I figured there might be a few of us who need a reason to watch any of the Super Bowl hoopla (myself included).

Is It Okay to Like This New Trailer for The Lone Ranger?

It certainly is a tease, too. It’s short and doesn’t really show us anything we haven’t seen before, so it makes me wonder what’s coming in the new trailer.  I’m hoping it will be something to keep me from wanting tolaugh whenever I hear Johnny Depp say “Kimosabe”.

“It’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights. It’s time to get things started on the most sensational, inspirational, celebrational…” Oops, where was I?

After the success of 2011’s The Muppets, it’s was a no brainer that there would be a sequel. Indeed, Jason Segel, cowriter and star of that film, announced that there would be another one just after the opening, despite the fact that he has said from the start that he won’t be involved.

Manic Muppet Monday! Three New Clips from The Muppets!

Oh well, Kermit, Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, Scooter, Pepe the Prawn and new character Walter (among others)  will all be back. Some of the humans along for the ride include Tina Fey, Ray Liotta, Ricky Gervais, and Ty Burrell. Kermit recently sat for an interview with EW to announce the title and the plot for the new film. It will be called The Muppets…Again! and the plot finds the Muppet repertory company enjoying a triumphant world tour, only to become tangled up with a criminal mastermind named Constantine, who is out to steal an enormous diamond—and who happens to be a dead ringer for Kermit.

Oh I can imagine the hi-jinks that will ensue! I’ll bet Miss Piggy ends up in a clinch with the imposter!

“Mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine — the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit — and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. The film stars Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon.”

Director James Bobin has returned for the sequel and as he told THR,

“It’s great to be back working with the Muppets, some of them even remember my name occasionally now,” the director said. As for the movie, it’s a tip of the hat to the old-school crime capers of the ’60s, but featuring a frog, a pig, a bear and a dog—no panthers, even pink ones—along with the usual Muppet-y mix of mayhem, music and laughs.”

The Muppets…Again! hits theaters in the US and the UK on March 21, 2014.

And it’s not even my birthday! Lots of news for my favorites today, including Tom Hardy. Variety is reporting that Hardy is in talks to topline Child 44, based on the novel by Tom Rob Smith in which a “disgraced lawyer {insert joke about redundancy here} is dispatched to investigate a series of child murders”.  The book is set in the Soviet Union during Stalin’s rule, so presumably the flick will be too.

Daniel Espinosa (Easy Money, Safe House)  is already on board to direct with Sir Ridley Scott producing. Richard Price (Kiss of Death, clockers, Ransom) is writing the script.

Of course, first up for Hardy will be Animal Rescue with Noomi Rapace based on a short story by Dennis Lehane which starts filming in March. The story (as with most of Lehane’s work) is set in Boston. If they film it here, you will probably see me on the news:”Tom Hardy Stalked in Beantown”. (Have no fear, imdb lists filming location as NYC.  Oh wait….ROAD TRIP!!!)

I had to post these photos of Jason Statham, well for several reasons. One – It’s The Stath and his manly-muscled head, steely-eyed gaze, sexy underbite and tiny feminine mouth… D’UH!  Two – It’s Hump Day, nuff said  and Three – because they are from the photo call ahead of the German premiere of Parker and for anyone who’s a fan of either Jason Statham, Guy Ritchie or both, as soon as I said that, you heard The Stath as Turkish  say “Protection from what? Zee Germans?”  from Guy Ritchie’s Snatch.

So anyway, the German premiere of Parker is tonight, Wednesday January 30, so The Stath stood in a room at the Regent Hotel in Mitte. Berlin so he could have his image captured on film and so I could bring it to you. Enjoy.

It has been so long since we’ve had any Clive Owen around here, probably since last summer when he filmed Blood Ties on the streets of New York with Mila Kunis and Marion Cotillard.

First Trailer for Shadow Dancer with Clive Owen

Here he is in Paris last night, Tuesday January 29,  for the French premiere of James Marsh’s Shadow Dancer, a film which has yet to get a US release date.  Clive’s costar Andrea Riseborough (soon to be seen in Welcome to the Punch with James McAvoy and Mark Strong) won Best Actress for her role in the film at the British Independent Film Awards (and was nominated for many more).

Shadow Dancer is the story of a widowed mother (and active member of the IRA) who  is arrested in an aborted bomb plot and then falls into the hands of a British intelligence officer (Clive Owen). After the MI5 agent offers her an ultimatum, she must make hard choices to protect her son in this heart-wrenching thriller.

It also stars Domhnall Gleeson, Gillian Anderson and Aiden Gillen. Here’s hoping we eventually get to see it on this continent!

What’s Better Than Tuesday? A Bullet to the Head with Jason Momoa

In any case, Jason and castmates Sarah Shahi, Sun Kang, the film’s star Sylvester Stallone, joined director Walter Hill for a red carpet premiere of Bullet to the Head last night, Tuesday January 29 at New York’s AMC Lincoln Square. Jason was accompanied by his step-daughter, Zoe Kravitz. (Wife Lisa Bonet must have stayed back in California with the little ones.)
