         <title>Michael Tsapatsis Elected AAAS Fellow</title>
         <description><![CDATA[<p><br />
<img alt="Tsapatsis.png" src="http://blog.lib.umn.edu/itcomm/iprime/Tsapatsis.png" width="115" height="153" class="mt-image-left" style="float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;" />Professor <a href="http://www.cems.umn.edu/about/people/faculty.id20283.html">Michael Tsapatsis</a> was elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) by the AAAS Council. Each year the Council elects members whose "efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its applications are scientifically or socially distinguished."</p>

<p><br />
He is a faculty member of IPrime's Coatings Process Fundamentals and Nanostructural Materials and Processes <a href="http://www.iprime.umn.edu/Part_Programs.html">programs</a>.   Recently, he was also part of a research team that reported a breakthrough on <a href="http://www.cems.umn.edu/activities/news/index.id299.html">zeolite films</a>. </p>]]></description>

         <title>Member Optomec Expands to Twin Cities</title>
         <description><![CDATA[<p><br />
<em><a href="http://finance-commerce.com/2012/02/new-mexico-based-optomec-looks-to-twin-cities-for-rd/">Finance and Commerce</a></em> recently published an article on Optomec, an IPrime member company.  </p>

<p><br />
Optomec makes "aerosol jet" printers that produce electronic circuits and has its headquarters and manufacturing plant in Albuquerque, N.M. But when it comes to research and development, the company is expanding its St. Paul presence.</p>

         <title>GGPF Rheology Short Course July 2011</title>

<img alt="macosko.png" src="http://blog.lib.umn.edu/itcomm/iprime/macosko.png" width="120" height="160" class="mt-image-left" style="float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;" />Professor and IPrime Director <a href="http://www.cems.umn.edu/about/people/faculty.php?id=20023">Chris Macosko</a> is organizing an upcoming Golden Gate Polymer Forum (GGPF) three-day short course on the rheology of polymers, dispersions and gels. </p>

The course will be held in Mountain View, CA July 13 to 15.  It is designed to give practicing engineers and chemists an understanding of rheology fundamentals, principles of measurements, and applications to practical problem solving.  </p>
