Here's another layout for the Yellowstone/Montana/2010 Vacation scrapbook. I've been working on the album here and there for the past 3 years, and I can finally say it's about three-quarters of the way finished. Yeah! I probably could have had the whole album done within 3 months, but when you love scrapping old family photos along with photos you took last week, sometimes it takes a bit longer to finish an album ;)

I used pieces of the new Nature Walk collection from Pretty Little Studio for the sunburst design and added some sequins for the outside rays. Perfect colors for the photos!

Here's a fun little project I made for the 2nd anniversary celebration going on over at the Paper Bakery blog.

Wouldn’t these mini 3-D cupcakes be oh.so.cute at each place setting for your next party!!

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the cupcake pieces, then added a hand cut cherry and a fun little flag. To give it a some sparkle, a touch of glitter added to the edges really makes it shine!!

This would be one of those layouts that I absolutely *loved* from the moment I chose which paper and embellishments I was going to use. That was until I went to add it to my album and noticed I had spelled the word "scouts" wrong. Oh well, it is what it is!

I still love the Pretty Little Studio paper and the sweet little banner flags though, they have such a vintage but modern feel to them.

As soon as I took these pics of Gracie playing dress up (which is an everyday occurrence at our house!) I knew they would end up on a layout.

She loves mixing colors and patterns, and that's what I did here too. I used the "Bayside High" June kit from the Paper Bakery that has lots of new Heidi Swapp goodies. Don't you love the sequin arrow!!

I even added a bit of the packaging from the Vintage Chic Buzzwords. I just cut the b&w stripe borders off the front and back of the package.

I also used part of the packaging from the Paper Bakery. This cute crepe paper ruffle on the glassine bag was a goodie bag for all new member sign ups. Another custom embellishment ;)

Here's a new layout for Pretty Little Studio.

I really like the "Love is Kind" polaroid frames, they have the sweetest photos, and I've used them on both cards and layouts.

The pretty butter yellow frames were the perfect color for my layout, but the pictures inside the frames just didn't work with my photos this time so I cut out the center picture, and was then left with only the frame piece that was exactly perfect to use on my layout!

That's what I call thinking outside the box, or the frame as the case may be ;)

{Home Sweet Home}

Hi friends, today I have a cute little piece of home decor to share with you!

I used the May scrapbook kit from the Paper Bakery, which included this sweet house cut file, and also used one of the new Paper Bakery stencils from the May mixed media kit along with Heidi Swapp's Gold Lame Colorshine mist. Here's an easy tutorial on how I used the stencil.

First, remember to cover your work surface with newspaper if you are using a mist or spray. Since I only wanted to use part of the stencil, I laid small scraps of paper over the part I didn’t want showing to get an idea of how it would look.

Next, I laid a few more pieces of newspaper over everything that I didn’t want any mist on, and sprayed until it was a nice shiny gold!

I let it dry for just a few minutes, then carefully removed the stencil, rinsed it with water, and patted the stencil dry with a paper towel so it would be ready the next time I wanted to use it.

And here’s a final look at my sunbeam made with the “Glass Shattered” stencil.

As you can see I focused on the 4 squares, but placed them next to my photo, and actually used 2 as rectangles in place of 2 of the squares.

To give the papers a little dimension, I scuffed up the edges with my scissors. I love the texture it gives!

I came across this old photo a few weeks ago, circa 1977. You can tell it's the 70's, I'm wearing a rainbow shirt, carrying a leather purse that had flowers painted on (remember those?) and was growing out my Farrah Fawcett hairstyle.

It's not the best picture, but still a memory of a vacation I want to remember.

I used my Silhoutte for the islands and aloha, along with the May kit from the Paper Bakery. I also added some sequins, my new fave thing to use to a layout ;)

I have a new layout up on the Pretty Little Studio blog today!

Although I’m pretty sure this wasn’t an owls nest that we found on vacation, the cute owl flash card from the new Nature Walk collection was the perfect embellishment for my layout!

I added a bit of twine as a reminder of the little pieces of string the sweet birds had woven into the nest and a few flair buttons too!

It's been almost 10 years since my last trip to New York. Somehow I never made a layout with pics of one of my favorite little places to shop.

The Ink Pad is one of those stores I could spend hours looking in. It's a paper crafter's paradise.

I used the May kit from the Paper Bakery which includes the cute DIY Shop ephemera pack from Crate Paper. Could the map and corner store piece be any more perfect! I also used one of the photo overlays as an embellishment. I think they look cool layered in among everything, not just as a photo overlay.

{Glitz Roadshow & a Sketch}

Here's a new layout I made with the "Glitz Roadshow" kit from the Paper Bakery along with the newest sketch challenge. Don't you just *love* the sweet Maggie Holmes camera paper :)

And here's the sketch I used for my inspiration.

I used the Crate Paper photo overlays to represent the squares behind the photo, then added bits and pieces here and there for some layering.

There is still plenty of time to enter the sketch challenge, I'd love to see what you come up with!

Here's a layout I made for the Pretty Little Studio blog for this weeks "Out of the Box" challenge. This is the image I was given for inspiration:

Right away I noticed how the letters are in alphabetical order, but yet still have a randomly placed look to them. Here's what I came up with for my version:

I copied the look by using my Silhouette machine to cut out each letter, then backed the negative cut with the chevron paper.

I also added a heart to the alphabet, and backed it with coordinating cardstock. A simple frame of two more pieces of cardstock completed the layout. There's a story that goes with the layout, but since I write like a 3rd grade school girl with big loopy letters ;) it would never fit, so I've written it on the back.

I have 2 cards made with the May scrapbook kit from the Paper Bakery to share with you today. First up, I found this idea on Pinterest and thought it was sooo cute!

"you can always count on me to be right here"

I used the number line cut file from the May kit and did a little creative erasing with my Silhouette, changing it into two lines of numbers and replacing the zero with the geotag flair.

And then a card for everyday. Don't you just love the mustache flair!

{Inspiration!}

Where do you get your inspiration from? Sometimes I find it in something as simple as a scrapbooking magazine. Then there are other times when it is least expected. Here’s the source of my latest inspiration…

Yes it’s a Marshall’s commercial! The color is a bit off since this is a photo I took of my TV, but my source of inspiration still shows. See the girl on the right with the mint green shirt, white sweater, floral pants with a blue background behind her?? I took that and turned it into this piece of home decor for my friends scrapbook room.

I used my Silhouette to cut the words and camera then added the different pattern papers behind the cut out words.

But what if you still want the die cut look and don’t have a Silhouette?? Simply print your image or words in a light color directly onto you paper, then use a craft knife to cut them out

{2 Projects to Share!}

Hi friends, today I have 2 projects to share with you!! First up, a layout for Lily Bee Design. I've been Guest Designing for Lily Bee this month, and have such a great time playing with their fab papers!

With my photo as a starting point, I cut the various oval shapes out of the brown paper to resemble the stone path in the picture, then used the blue chevron stripe paper layered behind it to mimic the water.

I added a few layers behind the photo and the strip of red floral paper to bring out the red in my daughters pants and just to look cute ;) Since this is about feeding the ducks, I also added the red feather that I found at my local craft store. A quick and easy layout, but a great memory recorded!

I also have this fun project for Pretty Little Studio!

This is for the "Out of the Box" Word Challenge and this was our inspiration piece...

I focused on the lettering style, and came up with this cute little piece of home decor for a friend that just had her first baby. Don't you just love that sweet little deer!!

I love old black & white photos, and especially love old family photos. I am slowly but surely working through a box of over 500 pictures from my husbands side of the family, dating from the early 1900's. Someday, I hope to have them all scrapbooked. Here's a layout I made a few weeks ago but forgot to share it here.

It's another layout of Gracie at the park ;) This girl loves going to the park more than any of the other 3 kids did combined! She has the swings mastered, but still wants Mommy to push her "so her toes reach the sky". Fortunately we have 10 parks just in our little city, so we have plenty to visit.

Don't you love the bright blue feather!

Well it's another layout for Gracie's album completed, and even though this isn't the first layout about her at the park, and surely won't be the last, it's another memory recorded.
