Class Specifics

Argent Charger - This mount costs 100 Champion’s Seals from Dame Evniki Kapsalis in the Argent Tournament. To buy it you must be a “Crusader” – exalted and a champion with your five home cities PLUS the Argent Crusade and the Silver Covenant/Sunreaver’s and most important…be a paladin – it’s paladin only. Colour wise the horse itself is a grey, with Silver skirted and plated horse armor and gold edged silver shields. The armor also sports a variety of spikes down the horse’s nose and smaller ones down his neck.

Charger (Blood Elf) / Charger (Human, Dwarf, Undead) - these two chargers (the blood elf one with red skirted armour, the others with a blue armour) are the epic paladin mounts.

Dreadsteed – this is the epic version (deep red with fiery hooves and mane) of the Warlock class mount. It also has armour down its neck.

Exarch’s Elekk – this is the new Draenei paladin mount, the basic version. It’s relatively dull in colour.

Felsteed – this is the slow version of the Warlock mount. It has no armour but deep brown fur with fiery eyes, mouth and hooves.

Great Exarch’s Elekk – this is the second new Draenei paladin mount, the epic version. It’s actually pretty stunning, huge with grey skin, purple cloth armour and heavy silver and gold plated armour.

Great Sunwalker Kodo – this is one of the two new Tauren kodo paladin mounts, this is the epic speed version. It is grey skinned with multicoloured, lovely bright armour.

Sunwalker Kodo – this is the basic version of the Tauren paladin mount, which is like an unpolished, dull version of the epic mount.

Warhorse (Blood Elf) / Warhorse (Human, Dwarf, Undead) – these two chargers (the blood elf one with red skirted armour, the others with a blue armour) are the basic speed paladin mounts.

Winged Steed of the Ebon Blade – this flying skeletal mount is restricted only to death knights. It costs 1,000g. It has skeletal wings and a blue cloth armour.

World Drops & Grinds

Grey Riding Camel - this camel is the third of a set and the only one that is challenging to get. This camel is a 100% drop rate from a NPC called Dormus the Camel-Hoarder. To reach Dormus you have to click on small camel figurines which are scattered around Uldum. Most of them crumble on use, but very occasionally they will port you to a secret part of Uldum. Kill Dormus and he will drop your camel mount. The mount is a dark grey with a paler grey underbelly and grey beard.

Phosphorescent Stone Drake – this drake, that shares the model with the drakes in Deepholm, drops from the rare mob Aeonaxx. It is green with purple crystals and flecks. Although the drake drops from Aeonaxx every single time, Aeonaxx itself has a low spawn time and a long pat. You need to spend a fair amount of time camping it in order to net a kill.

Subdued Seahorse / Reins of Poseidus - this very rare mount drops from the very rare mob Poseidus in Vash’jir. The difference between this seahorse and the other is that this is usable outside Vash’jir, in any water. There is a lot of information on WoWhead about Poseidus and his spawn time, rate and spawn points. On servers it can go on the Auction House – as it is BoE – for anything between 30,000 and 100,000 gold.

Time-Lost Proto-Drake – this drake, 100% drop rate from the TLPD itself, was one of the rarest mounts in game. It continues to be so due to the huge number of hours and routes you’d have to camp out the drake to get it to drop. Visually the mob is golden yellow with brown edging.

TCG

Amani Dragonhawk - a very attractive dragonhawk that came from the Twilight of the Dragons expansion pack that was released in July 2011. It is identical in skin to the dragonhawks in Zul’Aman, and was the rare drop from the expansion pack and can pull between £130 and £180 on eBay.

Big Battle Bear - this mount is from the TCG Expansion Pack “Drums of War” and was added in Patch 3.2. It is unusual in model in that he has full black fur, almost blue, with basic brown leather straps round his neck and hind legs, and what looks like a woven saddle on his back, which is framed by what looks like the massive bottom jaw of some creature or other! The card for the mount is called The Red Bearon, and was a 1/363 drop rate. It currently sells for about £70-£90.

Blazing Hippogryph – this is another TCG expansion pack mounts, from the expansion Wrathgate. Visually the hippogryph is quite “dark”, with maroon feathers, yellow wing bases and small lilac edges. Its eyes are golden yellow. It costs between £220 and £250 on eBay.

Corrupted Hippogryph – this is another TCG expansion pack mount from the new expansion Crown of Heaven which is released in March 2012. Its colouring links to its name as the bird is a mixture of very dark green and murky olive greens with radioactive green eyes.

Magic Rooster / Magic Rooster Egg - this mount is one of my favourite in game. It is a basic, unarmoured, giant brown chicken. It’s utterly fabulous and perfect in design and also the amazing expression on its face. Truly majestic in every way. This was in the Fields of Honor expansion pack and was a very low drop chance – 1/363. You can get it from eBay for in between $200 and $300.

Mottled Drake – this rather unattractive drake is a dirty brown in colour with green freckles and spots. It comes from the Worldbreaker expansion at the 1/242 drop rate.

Riding Turtle - this TCG mount comes from the Heroes of Azeroth expansion pack and can go for £100 ish on eBay. Amusingly this mount moves slowly on land – the same as normal person movement speed without a mount, however in water it boosts up to the 100% speed mounts. It has a green body and brown shell and a lovely little happy smile on its face.

Savage Raptor - this mount came from the War of the Elements expansion pack released in April 2011. It was a 1/363 drop mount and is usable by Alliance and Horde, making it a raptor mount usable by the Alliance. Skin wise – it is an orange colour with paler orange underbelly, and model wise it is identical to the other raptors.

Swift Shorestrider - this strider, a third added to the game, is a turqoise-y green colour with an orange neck and underbelly. It drops as a 1/363 card in the Throne of the Tides expansion pack which was released October 11th 2011. You can pay roughly between £80 and £130 for this on eBay.

Swift Spectral Tiger / Spectral Tiger - this mount is one of the very rarest in game. At a 1/484 chance from the Fires of Outland Booster pack, it can sell for over £1000 on eBay. So get your wallets out if you want it! Visually, this mount looks like an armoured saber except translucent with a slight purple/blue tinge. The armour is silver with crystals rather than gems with white/blue glowing eyes. There is both an epic and non epic (previously related to speed although now all mounts scale to your highest speed) form of this cat and they are identical visually.

White Riding Camel - this mount will be available from May 2012 as part of the Tomb of the Forgotten TCG expansion pack. It’s rarity is currently unknown however it is likely that it will be the normal 1/363 rarity for TCG mounts.

Wooly White Rhino - this is the only rideable rhino in game. It was a 1/242 (speculated) drop chance mount from the Icecrown TCG expansion pack and is unarmoured, and identical in skin to the rhinos roaming around Northrend. It can go for between £200 and £250 on eBay.

X-51 Nether-Rocket X-TREME – this rocket, a 1/363 drop from the Servants of the Betrayer expansion pack, is a red and silver rocket for one passenger. It’s now BoE so can be sold on the Auction House. It also comes with a non-epic blue version, which is blue and purple colouring in opposition to the red – called the X-51 Nether-Rocket.

Arena Rewards

Brutal Nether Drake – this nether drake is similar to the blue/onyx drake in colour but with full armour across the face and along the tail. The brutal nether drake was a reward for coming in the top percentage of Arena players in Season Four.

Deadly Gladiator’s Frost Wyrm – this frost wyrm was the reward for gladiators in Arena Season Five.

Furious Gladiator’s Frost Wyrm – this frost wyrm was the reward for the gladiators in Arena Season Six.

Merciless Nether Drake – this nether drake was the reward for the gladiators in Arena Season Two.

Relentless Gladiator’s Frost Wyrm – this frost wyrm was the reward for the gladiators in Arena Season Seven.

Ruthless Gladiator’s Twilight Drake – this STUNNING twilight drake was the reward for the gladiators in Arena Season Ten.

Swift Nether Drake – this drake was the reward for gladiators in Arena Season One. There was originally a bug with this mount where in the EU the top 5% (not 0.5%) got the mount by accident.

Vengeful Nether Drake – this nether drake was the reward for the gladiators in Arena Season Three.

Vicious Gladiator’s Twilight Drake – this super stunning drake was a reward for the gladiators in Arena Season Nine.

Wrathful Gladiator’s Frost Wyrm – this frost wyrm was the reward for the gladiators in Arena Season Eight.

Unknown / Not Implemented

Green Fire Hawk - this mount was tweeted as new in Patch 4.2 but it wasn’t actually implemented.

Heart of the Aspects – this mount has been in the data files for a while, but currently we have no information on location, drop rate or source.

Spectral Gryphon – this translucent, basic gryphon is quite attractive. It’s drop location/source is currently unknown but it has been speculated that it will be from the Blizzard Store.

Spectral Wind Rider – this translucent, basic wind rider is also quite pretty, for a wind rider. It’s drop location/source is currently unknown but it has been speculated that it will be from the Blizzard Store.

World Events

The Argent Tournament

Argent Warhorse - This mount, sold for 100 Champion’s Seals from the Argent Tournament, is available to both the Alliance and the Horde, being the only (except for paladin chargers) LIVE horse the horde can acquire. You must again be a Crusader, exalted and a champion of all five cities, as well as exalted with the Argent Crusade and the Silver Covenant (Sunreaver’s for Horde) to purchase the horse. Similar to the Argent Charger, the horse itself is a grey, with burnished metal/silvery grey skirted horse armor, with the Crusade emblem on each skirt flap around the horse’s legs. There are no shields or spikes on this armor.

Argent Hippogryph - a hippogryph open to both the alliance and the horde. It costs 150 Champions Seals. It is white with brown feathers, talons, beak and wing tips. The body is flecked with black spots.

Brewfest

Brewfest Ram - the previous incarnation of the Brewfest ram, this mount is a plain brown furred ram with brown horns. The model is now shared with the rams you ride in the dailies. THIS MOUNT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN GAME.

Great Brewfest Kodo - this mount is one of two that have a chance of dropping for you once per day if you defeat Coren Direbrew, the Brewfest daily boss. It has a 4% drop rate which makes it one of the more common drops – much more common than the headless horseman! The unique thing about this Kodo is that it is rideable by Alliance as well as Horde, making it the only cross faction kodo. Visually it’s the same as the other armoured kodos, with a dark black/grey skin and red/orange/gold horned armour.

Swift Brewfest Ram - a ram that previously was buyable from vendors is now a drop chance mount from Coren Direbrew, identical to the Kodo. It also has a 4% drop rate. The unique thing about this Ram is that it is rideable by Horde as well as Alliance, making it the only cross faction ram. Visually it is brown with dark brown horns and chocolate brown armour, studded with green gems.

Darkmoon Faire

Darkmoon Dancing Bear - the dancing bear costs 180 darkmoon faire tickets. He is a basic brown bear with an armoured saddle etc with the Darkmoon Colours, as well as a Darkmoon Faire emblem hovering above its head. Doing the command /mountspecial (or pressing space bar) will cause the bear to rear up on his hind legs, identical to the way a druid bear dances.

Swift Forest Strider - this awesome mount costs 180 darkmoon faire tickets. It’s the only strider mount in game and is in the Darkmoon colours, with a mostly bright purple body with bright green neck and belly. It’s been reskinned on top of the hawkstrider model which means when it runs its neck goes REALLY far forward. It’s an awesome mount with excellent animations and excellent colouring. Well worth the buy.

Hallow’s End

Headless Horseman’s Mount – this amazing flying horse is identical to the mount ridden by the Headless Horseman himself during the event. There is a 0.5% chance it will drop from the Loot-Filled Pumpkin you can collect from the boss each day.

Love is in the Air

Big Love Rocket - this incredibly innuendo filled “love rocket” is a very rare (0.16%) drop from the Love is in the Air holiday boss. It is similar in model to the other rocket mounts and is neon, bright pink. It has a zebra print seat.

Swift Lovebird - the second tallstrider added to the game – although not available yet (as of 25th January 2012) – this mount is a tall pink tallstrider probably identical in skin to the Mulgore Hatchling pet from the Argent Tournament. You will need 270 tokens to purchase it.

Noblegarden

Swift Springstrider - a fourth tallstrider added to the game, with a grey/green colouring all over. This one will be available from vendors during Noblegarden and will cost 500 chocolates.

The Opening of the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj

Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal / Battle Tank - Now completely unobtainable in game (as the gates to Ahn’Qiraj are automatically open on any new realm, not that new realms are ever launched anyway), the Black Qiraji Battle Tank was a reward from “banging the gong” and opening the gates after the War Effort and incredibly long quest line that preceeded the opening of the gates. Only one person on any server would in theory ever hold the mount and title that came with it (Scarab Lord). It’s the only epic mount in game. THIS MOUNT IS NOT OBTAINABLE.

Professions – BoP (can only be used by the person with the profession)

Archaeology

Fossilized Raptor - one of the most common “epics” in Archaeology, the Fossilized raptor comes from Fossil (funny, that) dig sites, which unfortunately do not accept Keystones, making your grind a little longer. It does only require 100 fragments though, and with each dig site dropping 5+ fragments now, it’s speedy. The raptor is the same in model and animations as the other raptors, however purely skeletal, made of old, grubby bone. What with being a fossil, it has no armour, just a small saddle and set of reins.

Ultramarine Qiraji Battle Tank - this is one of the most rare archaeology finds and mounts in game. It is a Tol’vir find, which is rare enough in itself, and then it is a very rare find within the Tol’vir anyway. In model it is identical to the other qiraji battle tanks, but is very interesting in colour as it is an – as is stated in the name – bright ultramarine blue. Unlike the other battle tanks, it can be used anywhere in the world and is not restricted to Ahn’Qiraj.

Engineering

Flying Machine – this chopper is BoE but only usable by engineers. Engineers need to be 300 to make it and it requires 2 Fel Iron Casing, 20 Elemental Blasting Powder, 20 Handful of Fel Iron Bolts and 8 star wood.

Turbo-Charged Flying Machine – this chopper is BoE but only usable by engineers, similar to the flying carpets of the Tailors. Engineers need to be of level 375 to make it and it requires, 4 Adamantite Frames, 8 Khorium Power Core, 8 Felsteel Stabilizers and…a Hula Girl Doll.

Fishing

Sea Turtle - this mount is identical in model to the Riding Turtle mount but with blue skin and a green shell. One of the best things about this mount is that the /mountspecial command is to jump into the air and suck all legs and head into its shell, then pop out again. Fishing up this turtle nets you an achievement, and it can be fished from pools across Northrend and Cataclysm zones.

Tailoring

Flying Carpet – this carpet that requires a tailoring level of 300. Colour wise it is green with yellow trimmings and patterns. To make it you need 6 bolts of Netherweave, 5 Heavy Silken Thread, 4 Arcane Dust and 4 Golden Draenite.

Frosty Flying Carpet – one of the options for tailors, this mount requires 4 frozen orbs, a moonshroud, an ebonweave and a spellweave. It can be crafted by those that have 425 tailoring and although it is BoE, it can only be USED by tailors, which is why I have put it in this section. Visually it is blue with darker blue patterns and edging.

Magnificent Flying Carpet – this tailor-only (BoE but only usable by tailors) flying carpet requires 12 bolts of imbued frostweave, 4 monarch topaz, 4 red dye, 2 yellow dye and 4 iceweb spider silk. It can be crafted by tailors of level 425 and above.

Professions – BoE (can be bought by anyone)

Alchemy

Sandstone Drake / Vial of the Sands – this drake is a mount you transform in to that allows you to carry people as well. Visually it is a dark bluey/green with yellow crystals. To get this mount you can either buy it off the AH – for between 35k and 40k – or have it crafted for you. Alchemists must first discover the recipe – a rare drop from the rare archaeology find “Canopic Jar” – and then craft it using a complex mix of materials.

Engineering

Mechano-Hog / Mekgineer’s Chopper - This mount – usually between 10 and 15k gold on the AH, roughly 10 – 11k gold with mats alone – was introduced in Wrath of the Lich King and is BoE – so you can find it on the Auction House. The engineer needs to be exalted with their Northrend-home faction to buy the pattern, but the person who wants to own the mount does not need to. The hog and chopper are similar in visuals. To craft it you need 12 Titansteel bars, 40 handfuls of cobalt bolts, 2 arctic fur, 1 salvaged iron golem parts (450 engineering to buy), 8 goblin-machined piston (450 engineering to buy) and one elementium-plated exhaust pipe (450 engineering to buy). The engineer needs to be of level 450 to craft it. It was one of the first ever 2 person mounts in game and can carry a passenger.

5 Man Instances – drops / grinds

Amani Battle Bear - this is one of two bears that shame an identical model with slight recolouring. This version – achievable in the “new” Zul’Aman, a heroic instance that you can run at level 85 – drops from the final animal boss IF you defeat all 4 animal gods within the time limit. Only one drops, which means you have at a minimum a 1 in 5 chance of getting the mount. At this stage, it is quite likely a lot of people (on their mains, anyway) will have the mount so your chances will be better. The bear is a very dark brown/black colour, with purpley-red armor. His face is covered in a mask, with shrivelled troll heads hanging down from the sides of his neck. A large tusk flanks the saddle on each side, and it has a large pommel horn. His hind legs have flaming voodoo masks on them. His mouth is in a permanent snarl.

Amani War Bear - this is the second of the two Amani bears, and is no longer obtainable in game. It was achievable through completing the timed run in ZA which was a much more difficult task at this time, taking 10 (as ZA was a 10 man raid) well geared people to complete. The bear is a very dark brown/black colour, with deep, bright red armor. His face is covered in a mask, with shrivelled troll heads hanging down from the sides of his neck. A large tusk flanks the saddle on each side, and it has a large pommel horn. His hind legs have flaming voodoo masks on them. His mouth is in a permanent snarl.

Armored Razzashi Raptor - this mount has a 1% drop chance from Bloodlord Mandokir in Zul’Gurub. The mount was added in Patch 4.1 and is identical in model to the other raptors in game, however different in skin. The colour of his body is a deep red with purpley/orangey stripes along the underside of his tail and an orange belly, and with green armor. The armor covers the spike on his nose and plated armor that covers the outside of his hind legs and the upper half of his tail.

Blue Proto-Drake – this blue proto-drake, bright blue in colour with paler blue edging, is available from Skadi the Ruthless in Utgarde Pinnacle. It has a 1.7% drop rate making it quite low, but certainly farmable, especially as 85 as some of the bosses can be skipped.

Bronze Drake – this drake is a 100% chance drop from the extra mob you can kill if you complete the first half of the Culling of Stratholme on heroic mode. The drake is one of the most common around as it is easy to reach, kill and farm. One drops per instance run.

Deathcharger’s Reins - this cross-faction mount is available from Stratholme – previously Baron Rivendare and now his relative, Lord Aurius Rivendare. It has a roughly 0.1 – 1.0% drop chance. The mount itself is seen as particularly rare because of it’s *almost* unique model – unique for Alliance in that it is the only skeletal horse, less unique for Horde however its feet do have purple fel fire around them, unlike the normal horses etc. The horse is skeletal with large horns and a blue skirt armour. Although in theory this is an “easy” mount to farm, as all level 85s will well outclass the the instance and can essentially walk through, and you only need to kill 4 of the many bosses to access the Baron, the incredibly low drop rate has caused many a player to go insane.

Raven Lord - this mount drops from the bird boss Anzu in Sethekk Halls in Auchindoun. It has a 1.8% drop rate. From TBC until recently, the boss could only be summoned using a key that was granted to druids during the Swift Flight Form quest line, but it is now available to anybody who runs the instance on heroic mode. Model wise, the mount is a bird, with royal blue, golden yellow and black feathers and golden wingtips. He is a ground mount, despite being a bird.

Swift Razzashi Raptor - this mount used to drop from Bloodlord Mandokir in Zul’Gurub before patch 4.0 and Cataclysm. It had a very low drop rate when it was available, and was rideable by Alliance and horde, making it rare for the alliance. In colour it is a bright green with dark red armour and neon green head feathers. THIS MOUNT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN GAME.

Swift White Hawkstrider - this mount, the only hawkstrider usable by the Alliance, is a 4% drop from Kael’thas Sunstrider in Magister’s Terrace. It has basic gold armour with green gems and white feathers with a purple tint.

Swift Zulian Panther - this mount replaced the Swift Zulian Tiger that was from the original ZG. It isn’t a great mount to be honest, it is just a simply panther skin with no additions. It can be ridden by the Horde and the Alliance, and has a roughly 1% drop rate.

Swift Zulian Tiger - this mount used to drop from the High Priestess in the old, raid version of ZG. It is my very most favourite mount in game and I think it’s a gorgeous skin, proper tiger skin. The armour is a burnished silver with yellow gems. THIS MOUNT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN GAME.

Vitreous Stone Drake – this stone drake, coloured grey with blue crystals and bright green wing flaps, drops with a 0.8% chance from Slabhide in the Stonecore.

Raids – drop / grinds

Ashes of A’lar - this incredibly rare phoenix mount drops from Kael’thas Sunstrider in Tempest Keep, The Eye. It is a 1.7% drop rate and is stunningly attractive, with a neon, glowing orange body with pink wing tips. It leaves pink streaks throughout the air behind it.

Azure Drake – this mount is a rare drop from Malygos on either 10 or 25 man. It went through a few changes in Wrath of the Lich King to encourage people to complete the Oculus instance, but now, as of 26th January 2012, drops from both the 10 and 25 man instance. It has a 3% drop rate.

Black Drake – this mount is a guaranteed drop rate from Sartharion when you kill him with all three drakes alive on 10 man mode. It is a deep dark brown colour with an orangey red set of talons, undersides of wings, underbelly and tail spikes.

Blazing Drake – this mount is a rare drop from the Deathwing fights on either normal or heroic, 10 or 25 man. It is another reskin of Alexstraza, but an orange colour rather than a red. The drop rate is currently looking at about 1.3%.

Blue Qiraji Battle Tank - this battle tank is similar in colour to the ultramarine battle tank with glowing green eyes. It drops from several of the trash mobs in AQ40 with between an 8% and 12% drop rate. The issue with these mounts is that they are only usable within AQ and you cannot use them externally. They are also incredibly cowardly and will sink in to the ground, dismounting you, if you enter combat.

Experiment 12-B – this gorgeous drake mount drops from Ultraxion on 10, 25, normal and heroic. It has a very low drop rate though – just 0.2%. It’s design is that of a classic drake, with a purple/red skin, yellow undersides of their wings, turquoise wing tips, talons and edging along its neck.

Fiery Warhorse - oh this mount. This bastard mount. This mount drops from Attumen the Huntsmen, the first boss in the level 70 10 man raid instance of Karazhan. He is easy to solo at level 85, but unfortunately the drop rate is abysmal AND, what with it being a raid, it has a week long reset. WoWhead states that it’s 0.9%, which means even if drop rates did work that you would get the mount after 100 runs, it’d take you two years. So yea, it’s a bastard. It is, however, gorgeous. A horse that flies by galloping through the air, it has fiery green hooves and feet, with shiny bronze armour and the tattered remainders of red skirted armour. The horse itself has green glowing fel eyes and black hair.

Flametalon of Alysrazor - this mount has a 2% chance of dropping from the bird boss Alysrazor in Firelands. It is a reskin of the incredibly popular druid mount, Anzu. Matching the Firelands style, the Flametalon looks to be purely made of fire, with bright, bright orange feathers, that turn yellow as they reach the middle. He also has yellow eyes and a beak & talons of dark brown covered in cracks of fire. He wears some armour – over his beak, along his wing tips and the bone of his wing. The only other armour is a saddle.

Grand Black War Mammoth (Alliance) / Grand Black War Mammoth (Horde) – this mount, a recolour of the normal mammoth skin, is black with reins and armour embossing matching the colour of the user’s faction – blue for Alliance and red for Horde. The fur of the Mammoth is also a black rather than the usual brown. This mount can drop from any of the four bosses in the Vault of Archavon, the level 80 wintergrasp bosses, with a drop rate of between 0.9% and 1.2%.

Green Battle Tank - this battle tank is green with orange points on its exoskeleton and purple glowing eyes. It drops from several of the trash mobs in AQ40 with between an 8% and 12% drop rate. The issue with these mounts is that they are only usable within AQ and you cannot use them externally. They are also incredibly cowardly and will sink in to the ground, dismounting you, if you enter combat.

Ice Mammoth (Alliance) / Ice Mammoth (Horde) – this mount is also available from the Sons of Hodir quartermaster once you are revered with the faction. It is a normal, none-passenger mount and costs just 1,000 gold. It is a pale grey with white bits recolour, and as with other mammoths has reins/armour matching the owner’s faction (blue for Alliance, red for Horde)

Invincible – this is a truly genuine special mount. Lore wise, Invincible is Arthas’ original mount. As a young boy he jumped the colt when it was not ready and it slipped in the snow and broke his legs, resulting in death. Arthas, once he became the Lich King, returned to Invincible’s grave and reanimated the horse. Whilst in Wrath of the Lich King, this mount dropped every time Heroic LK was killed on a 25 man setting, this changed with Cataclysm and it is now an incredibly low drop rate similar to Mimiron’s Head.

Life-Binder’s Handmaiden – this gorgeous mount – a reskin of Alexstraza, Aspect of Life, in her dragon form, is a 100% drop from the Heroic kill of the Madness of Deathwing.

Mimiron’s Head – this mount used to be a guaranteed drop from Yogg+0, however the drop rate was significantly nerfed and is now an incredibly low drop rate. This mount is completely unique in skin and model and is literally a copy of Mimiron – the keeper’s – head. It flies using a propeller.

Onyxian Drake – this mount is an incredibly rare drop – 0.2% – from Onyxia on either 10 or 25. The mount is special not only because of the rarity but it is a reskin OF Onyxia – which is extra awesome.

Pureblood Fire Hawk – this mount is a pure yellow version of the fire hawks that are around the Molten Front. It has a 1.3% drop from Ragnaros on any difficulty or raid size. It can both fly or run along the ground and is a reskin of the meta achievement mount.

Red Battle Tank - this battle tank is a deep red with beige armour points. It drops from several of the trash mobs in AQ40 but with a much lower drop rate – 1 – 1.5%. Getting this mount rewards you with a feat of Strength. The issue with these mounts is that they are only usable within AQ and you cannot use them externally. They are also incredibly cowardly and will sink in to the ground, dismounting you, if you enter combat.

Swift Alliance Steed - this mount was a reward for completing Trial of the Grand Crusader on 10 man with 50 tries left – ie, no raid wipes. It was a guaranteed drop but removed in Patch 4.0. It was a stunningly attractive mount, white in skin with a black mane and tail, with gold and bright, vibrant blue intricate armour along his head, front of his legs and across his chest.

Swift Horde Wolf - this mount was a reward for completing Trial of the Grand Crusader on 10 man with 50 tries left – ie, no raid wipes. It was a guaranteed drop but removed in Patch 4.0. It just looks like a lot of the other wolves, with silver armour and leg plates.

Twilight Drake – this drake, a mixture of dark and vibrant blues, is a 100% drop from the 25 man version of Sarthation 3D.

Yellow Battle Tank - this battle tank is bright deep yellow with black points on its exoskeleton and blue glowing eyes. It drops from several of the trash mobs in AQ40 with between an 8% and 12% drop rate. The issue with these mounts is that they are only usable within AQ and you cannot use them externally. They are also incredibly cowardly and will sink in to the ground, dismounting you, if you enter combat.

Achievement Rewards

Albino Drake – this drake, a creamy white with turquoise edging along the wings and claws. It is the reward for collecting 50 mounts.

Black War Bear (Alliance) / Black War Bear (Horde) – these mounts are the reward for completing the “For the Alliance / For the Horde” achievements – killing each of the opposing faction’s leaders. This has become noticeably harder in Cataclysm and the leaders now need a lot more concentration and coordination to complete. Visibly the fur is a dark, deep brown colour, and as with other bears, the Alliance armour is blue, the Horde armour is a rusty brown.

Black Proto-Drake – this gorgeous proto-drake was implemented as a reward for those that completed Glory of the Raider in Tier 7. Unfortunately, and without warning, Blizzard removed these drakes without warning when Ulduar was patched in. This certainly caused uproar in the community and as of the 26th January 2012, they haven’t done this with any of the other meta achievement raid drakes. Visually it is a dark brown with paler brown edging/wing tips etc. THIS MOUNT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN GAME.

Bloodbathed Frostbrood Vanquisher – this frost wyrm, with red tips and drips over it, is a reward for completing the 10 man version of the Glory of the Icecrown Raider.

Blue Dragonhawk – this is the Alliance only reward for completing the 100 mounts achievement. It is the only non-TCG dragonhawk that is available to the Alliance. Visually it is a stunning mix of purples, blues and greens.

Blue Drake – similar to the Azure Drake, this mount can drop from Malygos on either 10 or 25 man. It is a bright, turquoise-y blue with white wing tips and talons. It used to, during Wrath of the Lich King, drop from a special bag that was offered to people who completed the instance using the dungeon finder. Now it ONLY drops from Malygos.

Corrupted Egg of Millagazor / Corrupted Fire Hawk – this gorgeous fire hawk – a reskin of the fire hawks/protodrakes – is a reward once you have completed the Glory of the Firelands Raider meta achievement. It is a bright, neon purple in colour and moves on both land and in the air. It has intricate purple armour with dark metal edging.

Crusader’s Black Warhorse (Horde) / Crusader’s White Warhorse (Alliance) - This mount, a black/white armoured horse very similar in model to those of the Argent Horses, used to be a reward for completing Trial of the Grand Crusader on 25 man without a single wipe AND without a single person dying in any attempt…so pretty hardcore stuff!!! It’s a lovely mount but essentially almost identical to the other skirted horses. The alliance version of this is that it’s skirts are very bright white with the Argent Crusade emblem on the skirt flaps and white armour throughout. THIS MOUNT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN GAME.

Drake of the East Wind – this drake, a model shared by 4 drakes introduced in Cataclysm, is a reward for the individuals who complete Glory of the Cataclysm Raider. Visually it is a pinky red colour with green wing flaps and lightning coursing across its body.

Drake of the North Wind – this drake, a model shared by 4 drakes introduced in Cataclysm, is a rare drop from the boss Altairus in Vortex Pinnacle. It has a 0.8% drop rate. Visually it is a grey colour and also has lightning coursing across its body.

Drake of the South Wind – this drake, a model shared by 4 drakes introduced in Cataclysm, is a rare drop from Al’Akir in the Throne of the Four Winds raid. It has a 0.7% drop rate. Visually it is a dark purple/blue with lightning covering its body.

Flameward Hippogryph – this mount is a reward for completing the “unlock the areas” achievement for the quest hub within the Molten Front in Mount Hyjal. The bird is a normal hippogryph in model but with an interesting skin of oranges, reds, purples and yellows with glowing blue eyes. The base of its wings are flaming and fiery as is its tail. When it is flying, sparks of fire fall through the air and off its wings.

Icebound Frostbrood Vanquisher - this frost wyrm, which glows with an eternal icy blue light, is a reward for completing the 25 man version of the Glory of the Icecrown Raider.

Ironbound Proto-Drake – one of my favourite proto drakes in game, this is a reward for completing Glory of the Ulduar raider on 25 man. Visually it is black wtih icy blue edging and shiny bits.

Plagued Proto-Drake - this gorgeous proto-drake was implemented as a reward for those that completed Glory of the Raider in Tier 7. Unfortunately, and without warning, Blizzard removed these drakes without warning when Ulduar was patched in. This certainly caused uproar in the community and as of the 26th January 2012, they haven’t done this with any of the other meta achievement raid drakes. Visually it is shares the model with the plagued drakes in Icecrown. THIS MOUNT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN GAME.

Red Proto-Drake – this proto drake is the reward for completing the Glory of the Hero 5 man achievement for the Wrath of the Lich King heroics.

Red Dragonhawk - this is the Alliance only reward for completing the 100 mounts achievement. It is the only non-TCG dragonhawk that is available to the Alliance. Visually it is a stunning mix of orange, yellow and red.

Rusted Proto-Drake – another proto-drake for completing a Glory meta – this time the 10 man meta achievement. Visually it does what it says on the tin – it’s rusty brown with runes.

Twilight Harbinger – this is another reskin of Alexstraza, but with a purple colour. It is a reward for completing the Glory of the Dragon Soul raider.

Vicious War Steed - this is an unusual mount as it is a reward for three achievements – and becomes BoA so can be sent, once you receive it the 2nd and 3rd time, to other characters that you have. It is the reward for winning 75, then 200, then 300 rated battlegrounds. Skin wise the horse is black furred, with heavy heavy armour. You cannot see the mane but the horse has a pale brown tail that has been bound in to sections. The armour is blue metal with silver edging and red cloth extras, and there is an orc skull hanging from the back of the saddle. The foreleg armour has a large alliance emblem embossed on it. It is only available to the alliance.

Vicious War Wolf - this is an unusual mount as it is a reward for three achievements – and becomes BoA so can be sent, once you receive it the 2nd and 3rd time, to other characters that you have. It is the reward for winning 75, then 200, then 300 rated battlegrounds. This large wolf, definitely slightly different in model to the normal wolves, is a pale grey with darker grey points and a knotted tail. The armour is wooden with metallic plates and a large metallic mask, with alliance (presumably human) skulls hanging from the back of the saddle. The panels on the armour are sewn together pieces of red leather.

Violet Proto-Drake – this is the reward for completing the “long strange trip” meta achievement which is for completing every single holiday achievement. The drake is a deep purple with black touches.

Volcanic Stone Drake - this stone drake, coloured a deep purple with orangey-red crystals and blue wing flaps, is a reward from the meta achievement for completing all the achievements required for the Glory of the Cataclysm Hero achievement.

Guild Achievement Rewards

Dark Phoenix – this mount, a reskin of the golden Ashes of A’lar mount, is a reward for the guild (buyable once you are exalted) once they have killed all Tier 11 bosses.

Golden King - this mount, alliance only, is available once your guild reaches Level 25. You must be exalted with your guild in order to buy the mount and it costs 1,500g. It is a lovely reskin of the normal lions in game with a lovely brown fur and luscious mane, and will always carry a banner that matches your guild tabard/icon.

Kor’kron Annihilator - this mount, horde only, is available once your guild reaches Level 25. You must be exalted with your guild in order to buy the mount and it costs 1,500g. This mount is a scorpion, a very very large version of the scorpions in game that are mobs/critters. It has a dark brown skin with black claws and, as with the lion, has a banner with your guild icon.

Quest Rewards

Abyssal Seahorse - this seahorse is a reward for everyone who completes the first few quest lines in Vash’jir. Unfortunately this mount can only be used IN Vash’jir, so if you want a universal water mount, get ready to farm Poseidus (mentioned in the World Grinds section)

Crimson Deathcharger - this very special, very rare mount is a reskin of the death knight mount. This mount is available upon completion of the Shadowmourne legendary, which awards you several quests to hand items in and reap rewards – one of which is this horned, red armoured mount. This mount is BoE, and therefore sellable (I have one myself that was a gift!), and can go for a huge amount of money.

Venomhide Ravasaur - this is the Horde equivalent of the Winterspring Frostsaber, a reward from a 20 day long quest line where you nurture your raptor. Visually it is quite attractive, a chocolate brown back and head with paler brown underbelly and neck and neon green stripes.

White Polar Bear - this mount can drop from the quest reward bag when you complete the Hyldnir Spoils quest in Icecrown. There is a 3% chance it will drop from the bag, and actually a 0.3% chance it might drop from your Satchel of Exotic Mysteries as well. The bear is identical for horde and alliance, and is white (logically), with a chocolate brown armour matching the design of the other bears’. He has greeney-blue glowing eyes. This is probably, because LK is a past expansion now, one of the rarer mounts you’ll see around.

Winterspring Frostsaber - this mount is Alliance only and is a reward for completing a series of daily quests for 20 days, growing your wintersaber cub in to an adult. This mount does reward a Feat of Strength because the mount *used* to be incredibly difficult to get – it took a very very long grind. Model wise it is similar to the other unarmoured sabers but without the large teeth. It is pure white but with pale purple stripes.

Recruit A Friend

Swift Zhevra - this mount which was replaced by a 2 person rocket some time ago, was the second in game “unicorn”. It was a zebra, with a single brown horn. It was a reward for completing several steps of the “recruit a friend” program. THIS MOUNT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN GAME.

X-53 Touring Rocket – this mount, an awesome two person rocket with a grinning face painted on it, is available for those that complete the full recruit a friend process. It replaced the zhevra mentioned above.

Blizzard Store

Celestial Steed – the first mount ever to be sold on the Blizzard Store, the celestial steed (or sparkle pony as it was known) caused a huge amount of drama and forum QQ and whatnot. It is automatically generated on every new character you create, and is a winged, flying horse made similar to the constellation mobs and statues of Ulduar. It has purple and gold armour along the head and back.

Tyrael’s Charger – I’m putting this here because you do essentially pay Blizzard for it, but for a brief time if you subscribe for the Annual Pass you will get access to the Diablo 3 beta and this mount, which is absolutely gorgeous. Visually the horse is a dark, blue grey gorse with stunning golden armour and see through, shining, translucent wings. His hooves are white on the underside. and look to me (although it may just be perspective) to be much large than a normal horse. Like…it’s a bit like the Clydesdale of the WoW horse world.

Winged Guardian – this was the second mount to be introduced to the Blizzard store and is a sphinx like dark blue lion with golden trimmings and edgings. It can walk and fly and will be sent to all your characters. In the air it will flap its wings leaving streams of gold underneath it.

Blizzcon / Invitational

Big Blizzard Bear - this ground mount came from those who attended the Blizzcon Invitational in Paris in 2008. You can pick this up for £200 plus and it’s an extra special mount because it is a white unarmoured bear with a little tiny murloc carrying a flag sat on its head. It’s very very cool.

Both factions also have 6 of their own PvP mounts, 5 racial related and 1 generic. The Horde versions are:

Black War Kodo - this Kodo costs 2000 Honor Points. It has a black tiny to its skin, with bronze armor coating his knees/elbows (if they have them!), down his neck to his head and down his tail. He also has some plates on his feet.

Black War Raptor - this is the Sen’jin PvP mount which costs 2,000 honor points. It is visually quite stunning, with a black skin with dull orange streaks and deep red armour, with red head feathers.

Black War Wolf - this wolf, black with brutal spiked golden face and neck armour. It has red straps of leather round its feet and glowing green eyes. It costs 2,000 honor points.

Frostwolf Howler - this wolf is the counterpart to the Alliance Stormpike Ram. It is white with lovely bronze and purple armour spikes but a slightly *different* mask to the normal armoured wolves. It has glowing pink eyes. It costs 2,000 Honor points from the Frostwolf faction vendor.

Red Skeletal Warhorse - this warhorse costs 2,000 honor from the PvP quartermaster and has a red skirted armour and also red glowing fel fire round his hooves. The skeleton itself has a deep red tint to it.

Swift Warstrider - this strider fits in with the PvP theme, costing 2,000 honor points, and has black feathers, gold armour with dusky green gems.

The Argent Tournament, a daily quest hub added in Wrath of the Lich King, offered a huge number of achievements, mounts and pets to collectors. Those that are not faction specific are listed in the “world events” section, however many were only open to your faction. The Horde ones are:

Darkspear Raptor - this raptor, available for 100 Champion’s Seals, is a lovely turquoise with reddy-purple armour. The armour is lined with gold, and the raptor is identical in model to other armoured raptors but with an particularly unusual skin. You need to have become a champion of Sen’jin to purchase this mount.

Forsaken Warhorse - this skeletal horse, identical in model to the other skeletal horses, can be bought for 100 champion’s seals once you are a champion of the Forsaken. Colour wise it is simply bone, however it’s skirted armour is complete and unusually for the Forsaken quite bright – the skirt flaps are a mixture of two colours of purple, with matching purple eyes. Over his forelegs are shields of armour embedded with animal/demon (they’ve got horns) skulls.

Great Golden Kodo - this kodo, which isn’t even slightly gold, it’s more a beige colour, has silver horned armour. It costs 500 gold and 5 Champion’s seals. For this mount you need to be exalted with Thunderbluff.

Orgrimmar Wolf - 100 champion’s seals for this mount, which has a pale grey underbelly and darker grey back, with silver and red armour. Interestingly he has a horde stamp on his back leg. You don’t need to be exalted with Orgrimmar for this mount, but you do need to be a champion of the city.

Silvermoon Hawkstrider - the cost for this is 100 Champion’s Seals, which is unusual in colour. It shares the gold slight body armour that a lot of the other hawkstriders have, but is unusual in that its body is a pale, sky blue colour, with some grey mixed in.

Sunreaver Hawkstrider - this strider is heavily armoured in gold with a green gem in the middle of his chest. Its body is a deep purple and its wings and feet are purple too, of varying shades. It costs 100 Champions Seals and you need to be exalted with the Sunreavers to buy it.

Swift Burgundy Wolf - this wolf, bought for 500g and 5 Champion’s Seals, is brown/maroon/burgundy coloured with burnished gold neck brace and mask with black ankle straps. You need to be exalted with the orcs to buy it.

Swift Red Hawkstrider - a hawkstrider bought for 500g and 5 Champion’s Seals, this is one of the more interesting hawkstrider skins. It has very little armour but is studded with giant yellow gems, and its feathers are a bright deep red, with grey wing tips.

Thunderbluff Kodo - this kodo is the 100 Champion’s Seals mount available for those who are Champions of Thunderbluff. Visually it is a grey/green skin with heavy silver armour and glowing red eyes.

White Skeletal Warhorse - this is the 500g, 5 Champion’s Seals mount available for those who are exalted with Undercity. It is striking in that the skeleton is white with a pure white skirted armour with glowing white hooves.

Originally in game there were some extra unarmoured mounts. These Vanilla / Old School Mounts are no longer available in game, and owning one gives a Feat of Strength. The Horde versions of these are:

Blue Skeletal Warhorse - this horse is a basic skeletal warhorse that is same in model to the other skeletal horses. THIS MOUNT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN GAME.

Green Kodo - this kodo is a basic unarmoured kodo that is the same in model to the other kodos. Colour wise it is grey with a green tint. THIS MOUNT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN GAME.

Ivory Raptor - this raptor is unfortunately no longer available in game. It’s gorgeous, pure white, with glowing pink eyes and thin black streaks down his back. THIS MOUNT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN GAME.

Mottled Red Raptor - this is another raptor no longer available in game, with another very attractive skin, with bright orange skin and neon purple stripes, with a yellow underbelly. THIS MOUNT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN GAME.

Red Wolf - this is another of the unobtainable mounts. It is a rusty red colour with white socks and underbelly. THIS MOUNT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN GAME.

Winter Wolf / Horn of the Arctic Wolf - this Orc early game mount is pure white and unarmoured. THIS MOUNT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN GAME.

Teal Kodo - this kodo is a blue colour. It had no armour but just basic reins and cloth covering. THIS MOUNT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN GAME.

I started Skyrim this weekend. With the guidance of one of my WoW guildies, I ventured into this world that had caused the processor on my old PC to explode. I watched my way through the first cut scene, and designed myself my first character in this game. Elsen the Breton was born. I went with Breton because I rolled with what I know – a magic using caster. Straight away I got thrown in to making decisions – do I follow the guard or the rebel? With the help of Nordis (the guildie) I selected the rebel, and followed him through. We killed a few guards, searched them – constantly fighting against my desire to collect ALL THE THINGS.

It took me a while but I currently have two skills bound to each mouse button. With my left mouse button I cast fire – which seems to work more like a continuous stream of fire rather than fireballs. With my right mouse button I heal myself – an excellent skill. One thing I am doing in this game is totally avoiding manuals, information, cheats, or guides. The only help I’m getting is off Nordis, who is usually AFK from Steam and doesn’t answer my questions ANYway. Actually this is only 99% true. On one of my first quests – working for the Jarl of Whiterun – I had to work through the Bleak Falls Barrow, and at one point I got stuck at a puzzle with 3 rotating pieces I had to slot in a particular order. Eventually I got bored of trying different ones and looked up the order. The concept I understood…just didn’t have the patience!!

Things I’m learning

- I’m really quite fragile. I need to learn that I can’t jump off really high cliffs without death, and that if I’m going to attempt something I think might end in death, I really should do a quick save beforehand.

- the “`” key is not autorun. Just because it’s autorun in WoW where I spend most of my time doesn’t mean it is everywhere else…learn to play soph, learn to play.

- I’m all about the visuals – it’s annoying me that I have to wear this “Novice Hood” to increase my magicka – because it covers up my face and my hair and there’s no “don’t show helm” setting. This is mildly irritating.

- The level progression isn’t very intuitive – Apparently I had “levelled up” but I actually hadn’t because I hadn’t chosen where to put my…perk? Which is presumably sort of like a talent point. But where I CAN put my points depends on how much I use a spell, so for example at the moment I’m currently locked out of going further in to the Destruction “tree” because I’m a couple of points too low. So I’ve put one in to Restoration.

- Key bindings…so far I’ve worked out I can map spells to my left and right mouse button, but modifiers don’t seem to work – can’t map to Shift + Left mouse for example. I know this game can be played on a console so maybe this is why, but I do have access to MORE spells than just “flames” and “heal” – so should I be using these? Should they be mapped to somewhere? This may need further investigation/fiddling around when I get home.

- Dragons in this game aren’t really very attractive. I also killed one, although it took me three tries and it was on the third try I remembered I had healing and started using that.

- Potions are ace…I do have Alchemy (I think?!) but I really should have a look at the interface a bit more and work out if I can craft some health and magicka potions, seeing as neither regenerate very quickly.

- I want a horse. I tried to steal one but it didn’t end well. I also need to find somewhere to offload all the STUFF I’ve been stealing. I’ve got a necklace somewhere that’s worth like, 1k gold but I can’t find anyone to sell it to. I have however managed to get myself up to nearly 2k gold, which is quite good. I think.

- Giants cannot be taken on by a level 4 mage who has no idea what she is doing. I found an encampment and they had all this STUFF to steal but there was a giant. I was like – hey hey hey, I’m level 4, I can TOTALLY take this out. I spat fire at him and he picked me up and flung me about 1000 feet in to the air, and then I fell to my death. It wasn’t pretty. So I just snuck in and stole their mammoth cheese and then ran away again.

- I got a guard to say “I was an adventurer like you, until I took an arrow to the knee”. I don’t get it – it’s not that funny. I’m clearly missing some greater point here.

- I think I’m going to lose my life til this game. I am very much reminded of this, which made me giggle at the time and still gives me much amusement. In fact I just read it again and chortled to myself again.

So yea, overall, Skyrim is ace. I’m a slow burner with this sort of thing, and I expect it will last me a very long time, months after most people have blasted through the whole lot. But I’m enjoying it, and looking forward to playing it a whole lot more.

Taking inspiration from the wonderful Cynwise, Tzufit and Aralossien, I’m making my very own bucket list. These are the things I want complete before Mists of Pandaria hits.

General:

Have 9 level 85s – currently on 7, with a priest at 80 and a mage at 25.

Have all professions maxed out – currently just missing Mining (although it’s in the 400s on my priest) and Leatherworking – which is at 480, so pretty close.

Have experienced all Horde starting stories – by which I mean level every horde race to level 20.

Have 50k gold (currently on 30k).

Elsen -

Level 85, restoration druid.

Always my main, always will be, Elsen is of course the most important character in my roster. She will be the first picked up and levelled when Mists is released.

My goals for her pre-Mists are:

Achievement Points:

- have the most achievement points in guild – currently sitting in second, I have about 400 points to go to catch up on the leader. A secondary – highly unlikely – goal would be to hit 13,000 achievement points.

PvP:

- complete my Cataclysmic PvP set – although this will not be 100% possible because I doubt I’m going to hit 2200 to get the heroic versions. Just the basic S11 to the extent I can achieve it will do me.

- hit 1550 in 2v2

- hit 1550 in 3v3

- complete the total Master of Wintergrasp achievement – I’m just missing the 6 minute win and the generic wins.

- complete the total Master of Tol Barad achievement – Here just got a couple of easy enough achievements and then the Veteran to do.

Reputation:

- Max out my Steamwheedle Cartel reputation. I’m sitting at revered with all of them, so time to start grinding some pirates!

- Max out my Hydraxian Waterlords reputation

Achievements:

- mop up and complete the entirety of the Wrath of the Lich King raiding achievements in that tab.

- try my best to finish Salty

- grab Earth, Wind & Fire on 10 man

- net 25,000 Honor Kills

- net 25,000 Valor Points

- try and grab as many PvP achievements as possible (ambiguous I know!)

- finish up LK 5 man tab, and Cata 5 man tab

- finish off the Battered Hilt questline & enough tokens for the Argent Pony.

Pets & Mounts:

- farm up to 175 pets if possible (166 at the moment)

- farm up to 125 mounts if possible (116 at the moment)

A lot of my alts share goals – I want everyone to be transmogged. I want everyone to look good and to look how I’d love them to, and I’d like them all to have titles, however as it’s highly unlikely that some of the events needed (winter veil!) will come around again pre-MoP, some will be rolling goals.

Level 85, Holy/Prot paladin

My human paladin, who is currently capable of healing heroics and has set her foot in raid finder.

Goals:

- gear her up in a holy set that is a maxed out pre-raid & raid finder, with a base 378 iLevel.

- gear her up in a prot set that is maxed out pre-raid & raid finder, with a base 378 iLevel.

- find her a transmogrification set I like and think suits her and her personality. Just one set will probably do to be honest.

- collect her a relevant, accurate title – as a paladin, I like both “the Argent Champion”, “the Elder” (she is grey haired and her back story is that of someone who has been prematurely aged in hair colour by an event that had happened to her, a family tragedy – bizarrely I came up with this WAY before I read anything about Khadgar!!) or maybe just “of Stormwind”.

- finish off the level 80-85 zones that are unfinished, to pick up as much gold as possible.

Baeletha -

Level 85, Disc/Shadow priest

My first priest, who is currently capable of healing heroics and has set her foot in raid finder.

Goals:

- gear her up in a disc set that is maxed out pre-raid & raid finder, with a base 378 iLevel.

- spec her out and become comfortable with her shadow spec.

- find her a transmogrification set I like and think suits her and her personality.

- collect her a relevant, accurate title – I do like “of Darnassus”, or “the Noble”. She has “the Patient” already, but I don’t feel like this suits a night elf – she is too haughty to be patient!

- finish off the level 80-85 zones that are unfinished, to pick up as much gold as possible.

- max Leatherworking.

Nyoma -

Level 85, Resto/Elemental shaman

This is my max level shaman and she’s currently untouched.

Goals:

- gear her up in a restoration set that is maxed out pre-raid & raid finder, with a base 378 iLevel.

- find her a transmogrification set I like and think suits her and her personality.

- collect her a relevant, accurate title – as a dwarf, my only dwarf, I feel like it should be “Merrymaker” or “Brewmaster”, or perhaps “Matron”.

- finish off the level 80-85 zones that are unfinished, to pick up as much gold as possible.

- max out her 2nd profession, mining (currently at…1)

Ellenaie -

Level 85, Frost/Blood death knight

This is my max level death knight, and she is currently just in questing gear.

Goals:

- make sure she is correctly specced in both frost and blood – I don’t want to instance on run on her, but I’d like to understand the concepts and the specs.

- find her a transmogrification set I like and think suits her and her personality.

- collect her a relevant, accurate title – this is a hard one. “the Hallowed”, “of Darnassus”, maybe “the Patient” would suit her – but I’m not gonna be running instances!!

- finish off the level 80-85 zones that are unfinished, to pick up as much gold as possible.

Corin -

Level 85, Marksmanship/Beast Mastery hunter

This is my draenei hunter who is just in questing gear.

Goals:

- fill my stable. I would like to fill up 20 spots with every mix of lovely pets. I want a copy of each spirit beast, and I also want things like a shadowmoon dragonhawk, the rare spiders from the Molten Front, and other funky skinned pets.

- find her a transmogrification set I like and think suits her and her personality.

- collect her a relevant, accurate title – my hunter is bouncy and giddy and in many ways “young” – permanently optimistic in the face of anything. So for her, Merrymaker is perfect.

- finish off the level 80-85 zones that are unfinished, to pick up as much gold as possible.

Issabela -

Level 85, Destruction warlock.

I power levelled this character up really quickly, as Demo spec. However as I read more WoW books and experience more WoW lore I find it very difficult to steady myself with the actual concept of a warlock and the concept of working with Sargeras. On looking at the spec, I believe Destruction to be the LEAST warlockey – so I’d like to respec to this.

Goals:

- respec Destruction and become comfortable with the rotation on target dummies

- find her a transmogrification set I like and think suits her and her personality.

- collect her a relevant, accurate title – will have to be either Flame Warden or the Flamebreaker for her.

- finish off the level 80-85 zones that are unfinished, to pick up as much gold as possible.

- acquire two professions, and max them out. Alchemy (for procs on a different sector to Transmutation) and Herbalism, I think. She’s at 0 and 0 right now!!

Yessika -

Level 80, Holy/Shadow priest

This is my second priest. She was created because on levelling Baeletha I realised I simply didn’t want to give up shadow – it’s an awesomely fun spec to play.

Goals:

- Level her to 85 and spec her out, correctly, as both Holy and Shadow

- find her a transmogrification set I like and think suits her and her personality.

- Dependent on time, have a bash at healing and getting some gear as a Holy priest, not a disc priest.

- collect her a relevant, accurate title – really not sure. Maybe “the Patient”? She hasn’t really developed a personality yet to be honest!

- finish off the level 80-85 zones that are unfinished, to pick up as much gold as possible.

- max out both her professions – she’s currently at 476 herbing and 450 mining.

Ellucia -

Level 26, Arcane mage

This is my mage. With her, I’d like to have a bash at each mage spec.

Goals:

- Level her to 85.

- Try out each spec and ensure I have at least 2 proper specs all the way up.

- find her a transmogrification set I like and think suits her and her personality.

- max out her professions – she is currently at 124 enchanting and 176 tailoring.

Sophronia -

Level 41, feral druid

This is my second druid. She’s on a different server to my main so she doesn’t really get touched – I know not a soul on Draenor alliance so it’d be a lonely levelling process. I could transfer her across BUT, if they don’t open up more than 10 slots in Mists, I will be stuck without a space for my Pandaren Monk.

Goals:

- dual spec out my feral druid, so she is a tank and a DPS.

- Level her up, mostly using LFG, as far as I can get her – although 85 would be great she isn’t a priority.

- max out her professions to whatever level bracket she reaches (so ideally 525!), skinning she’s at 215 and Herbalism at 226.

The Horde Project -

A mix of characters, one of my aims pre Mists is to have 1 of each horde race. In a theoretical marvellous world where I have time, I’d like to see 1-85 on a horde character, but for now, the goal is simply to reach level 20 in every race.

I have gone with the following combinations:

Vanaessa - a blonde bombshell of a blood elf warrior.

Shaiina - a feisty goblin huntress

Keeryia - a confident and powerful orc shaman

Phareena - a stoic and kind tauren paladin

Shellie - a quick and cunning troll rogue

Archeeva - a sharp and speedy undead mage

So – that’s my Cataclysm – or to be honest, my 2012 goals – list. It’s long and a bit complicated but…I’m gonna give it a bloody good go!!

Christmas is my favourite time of year. I love buying people presents and spending time with my mum, who gets back in the country on Thursday. I finished work at 17:37 today and won’t be going back until January 5th. This also adds to my happiness. What else is great – LOTS of time for gaming. Although at the moment two of my favourite games are unplayable (Rift & Skyrim) because my computer is just not high powered enough for them (in either graphics or processor power), I am pottering through and enjoying LOTS of my other games. AND – in about 2 months I will have a whole brand spanking new flashy exciting top of the range, as GOOD as you can get computer. I’m pretty sure I can wait two months to play – and play at max settings as well!

Anyway, during the holidays I do have some plans, and these are them:

Warcraft

- replace all Elsen’s Season 10 gear with Season 11 – just 2 bits to go now (helm and 1 trinket) – except for weapon, which I need to buy with conquest, no way of upgrading.

- complete Glory of the Cata Hero on Els (2 more achievements to go – the Corla one and the Frost Damage one!)

- cap out my three healers on valor each week (Elsen, the disc priest and the holy paladin).

- get at least one new piece of snazzy conquest gear (if I max out this week I can nab the S11 chest)

- hit 1550 in my 2v2 team

- get my priest to 85 (she’s 80 right now)

- get my warlock to 85 (she’s 55 right now…)

Steam

- rack up a fair few more games and achievements on TF2

- rack up a fair few more games and achievements on Civ V

- I have 145 games on Steam apparently. I need to at least log IN on all of them and have a potter around.

- have a good bash at some of the Winter sale achievements/objectives

- try not to spend too much money in the steam sales…

Books

- finish the Rise of the Horde

- read the Last Guardian

- read Tides of Darkness

- acquire Blood & Honor…

the Wii

- finish Skyward Sword!

So – there are my plans for the next 15 days…
