As Window 7 released, many people have changed their operating system to window 7 too, because the annoying of Window Vista. But is that Window 7's performance really better than Window Vista. Here's the compare:

1.Benchmark Results: Synthetics

Windows Vista seems to be slightly faster on the synthetic Sandra 2009 benchmark while PCMark Vantage more clearly shows the opposite. Windows 7 seems to be superior in this test.

2.Application And Audio/Video Performance

Checking your system for viruses is faster if you execute the exact same scenario under Windows 7 as opposed to Vista. The process saves a few seconds on the new OS.

Adobe Photoshop filter applications and Fritz! 11 are very compute-intensive and hence don’t reveal noticeable differences between the two systems.

WinRAR is memory-sensitive, and for some reason it has significant advantages on Windows Vista over Windows 7. We checked system settings and repeated the test several times with the same results.

WinZIP shows less difference between the two Windows versions.
Audio/Video Benchmarks

The same applied to CPU-intensive audio or video transcoding: Windows Vista and Windows 7 deliver equal performance.

3.3D Performance

The 3DMark Vantage CPU test returns better results on Windows 7.

In contrast, the GPU scores are identical.

The 3DMark Vantage score is slightly better on Windows 7, but the difference isn’t worth talking about.

Here’s a real life result: Far Cry runs faster on Windows 7. Keep in mind that all other hardware and software parameters remain unchanged.

The performance difference is significant in Left 4 Dead, where frame rates are much better when using Windows 7.

4.SYSmark 2007 Preview

While some individual results vary, SYSmark 2007 with the latest 1.06 (patch 5) update runs best on Windows 7.

3D performance is a bit higher on Windows 7.

E-learning performance, which included Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and PowerPoint, is slightly better on Windows Vista.

The productivity test includes lots of Microsoft applications and WinZip to process files. This benchmark section runs clearly faster on Windows 7.

Video creation is significantly faster on Windows 7 than on Windows Vista.

Finally, the overall rating is glaringly in favor of Windows 7.

5.Booting, Shutdown, Hibernation, Standby

The wait times illustrated in the following tests tend to be very noticeable in everyday operation. Keep in mind that the only coniguration difference is the operating system, and that these actions will take considerably longer on a notebook or older PC. The Core i7-920 machine we used is already relatively fast, so it’s all the more striking to see such huge differences.

Our reference test system took significantly less time to boot under Windows 7 than Windows Vista. You’ll have to add a few seconds for the BIOS power on self-test procedure, as we started tracking the time after post. Keep in mind that the time tracking also includes displaying the Tom’s Hardware front page off the local hard drive. Still, booting Windows 7 saves roughly a quarter of the time required to boot Windows Vista.

Putting our fully featured system into standby mode took 15 seconds on the Windows 7 machine and almost twice that time, 24 seconds, on Windows Vista.

Resuming from standby was equally fast, but still quicker on Windows 7: 11 seconds versus 12 seconds on Windows Vista.

Hibernation means copying all of the data from system memory to the hard drive in order to preserve the system and application states before switching off the PC. In comparison, standby doesn’t power down the system completely. Obviously, the hibernation process time depends on memory capacity and speed. The more memory is in use, and the larger the memory capacity in general, the longer the system will take to hibernate. At the end of the day, the performance difference of 15 versus 21 seconds in favor of Windows 7 is stunning.

The reverse process, restoring the system from hibernation, was again much faster on Windows 7.

Lastly, we also tracked the time needed for the test system to shut down under Windows 7 and Vista. This operation was not faster on Windows 7. The process took the same 12 seconds on Windows Vista.

Conclusion:

That Windows 7 was slated to be the next ”real” Windows shouldn’t surprise anyone, especially given such widespread use of the release candidates. However, how and where the final differences would be compared with Vista remained unclear. Now that we’ve run methodical performance testing of everyday operating system actions, such as bootup, standby (and resume), hibernation (and resume) and shutdown, we can finally see the reproducible benefits of Windows 7.

Kaspersky's resource usage can be considered average to good. Manual scanning used a bit less memory than BitDefender. The percentage of CPU used was slightly less than BitDefender. And during real-time protection, Kaspersky ranged almost equal with BitDefender.
Winner: BitDefender=2, Kaspersky=2 On balance, both BitDefender and Kaspersky used approximately the same amount of PC resources, but we give Kaspersky the win here because BitDefender does consume slightly more resources.

4.Which Has the Best User Interface?

BitDefender offers the basic customer support including chat, email, and knowledge base. Phone support is technically available, but they make it very hard to get to. There have been numerous complaints about BitDefender's lack of easy phone support--or any support for that matter. While phone support is free, you'll need to click up to 12 links just to find the number. Then you'll need to create an account just to ask a question. There are far too many barriers to get any one-on-one phone support for our liking. Additionally, the rest of the help is also highly encumbered by this seemingly endless series of drill-downs on their website.	A good knowledge base, live chat, and support forums are all available from Kaspersky. However, phone support is not toll-free, but at least they offer otherwise free phone support. For most consumers, this isn't a major hinderance. Their phone lines are open during US business hours 8AM-9PM M-F, which is a fairly wide window that should accommodate most customers. With the exception of VIPRE, Kaspersky offers perhaps the best support options for their antivirus software.
RESULT: BitDefender=3, Kaspersky=4 With so many hoops to jump through to get support--especially live, one-on-one phone support with BitDefender, Kaspersky easily wins this round with easy phone access.

6.Which is Easiest to Install?

BitDefender's installation is quick and painless. The standard installation wizard walks you through a few basic questions then gets you on your way. Minimal PC resources are used, and antivirus and antimalware definitions are quickly updated.	The Kaspersky installation is fast and compact. There are only a few steps to complete without too many steps or hang-ups. However, upon installation, you'll need to run a full system scan since Kaspersky doesn't automatically launch a scan like most antivirus software does. But overall, an easy install.
RESULT: BitDefender=4, Kaspersky=4 With no hang-ups or install issues, BitDefender nudges slightly ahead of Kaspersky because of the automatic scanning issue.

7.Which Has the Best Email Virus Protection?

Email scanning isn't enabled by default in BitDefender. You'll need to enter the Advanced View section to activate it. We're not sure why BitDefender chose to disable email protection by default considering the history of email-transmitted viruses--especially where Microsoft Outlook is the mail client in use. However, once activated, BitDefender easily scans and protects incoming and outgoing emails.	The email scanning feature of Kaspersky is thorough, but can be a bit slow sometimes. However, all emails are fully scanned before entering your inbox. All major email clients that support SMTP or POP3 are supported. Overall, an adequate email protection feature.
RESULT: BitDefender=5, Kaspersky=5 BitDefender isn't enabled by default, but Kaspersky can be a bit slow. These two dings equal one another out in our eyes.

8.What's the Best Antivirus Software?

While BitDefender Antivirus can't be considered the "best antivirus software" this year, it was our top pick last year for good reason. It's still a strong antivirus solution overall despite a few small bumps. Considering its poor customer service, and initially inactive email protection, BitDefender still packs a powerful punch against viruses, spyware, and malware of any kind. While not as light and fast as the 2009 best antivirus, VIPRE, BitDefender still out-performs all other antivirus software below it.	Kaspersky's antivirus application is still gaining ground in today's market for good reason: it's good software with solid support. The makers of Kaspersky are very serious and dedicated when it comes to PC security, and it shows in this year's antivirus. The resource usage is average, and the customer service is far better than most. However, the price tag is perhaps the highest on the market, pushing Kaspersky farther out of reach for most consumers. Overall, Kaspersky still holds its own when it comes to solid, reliable antivirus protection.
RESULT: BitDefender=6, Kaspersky=5 BitDefender comes out ahead mostly for its lower, more affordable price tag. But when it comes to great antivirus protection overall, BitDefender and Kaspersky are virtually neck and neck.

Before 2005, when we are browsing internet, most of the people are using Internet Explorer by Microsoft, because most of the people only know Internet Explorer. In that time, IE having the big market of web browser, Microsoft think that he is the big boss so they still providing IE6 from 2001. But in 2005, a new web browser-Mozilla Firefox come out, and it change the thought of Microsoft, make Microsoft realize their browser market reduce because of Firefox, so they finally published IE7 2005.

Window 7 32bit vs 64bit

As we know, when start from window Window XP, every window have 32bit and 64 bit,

but most of the people still don't know what's the different between them.

Here are some compare with Window 7 32bit and 64bit:

1.RAM Support

The main different between 32bit window & 64bit window is the memory that can be utilised

Although 32bit window can support 4gb ram, but the system will remain some of them for

system use, so in reality , there are only about 3.25gb can be use in 32bit window.

But 64bit can fully use the ram up to 128gb.

2.PcMark Vantage performance test

PcMark Vantage is a application which can test the performance of the system across a variety

of common tasks such as viewing and editing photos, video, music and other media, gaming,

communications, productivity and security.

As we can see 64bit is more high score then 32bit in Memery,Gaming,Communication, and

Productivity. But in Tv & Movies,Music and HDD test, 32bit perform as well as 64bit.

However, the result show 64bit perform better then 32bit about 13%.

3. 7-zip/Winrar

When come to compressing files, two software had been used for testing-WinRAR & 7-Zip.

▲From the graph we can see that 64bit can perform faster when using 7-zip,
but no much different with WinRAR.

▲We can see that 64bit just need 198second and 157second to compress a 433MB file when using7-zip and WinRAR.

4.Convert video & music

At video converting , the test used Windows MediaEncoder to convert a MPEG video into WMV format.
For audio, iTunes had been used for convert WAV into MP3 format.

▲As we can see,64bit used 271 second to convert a video file which faster then 32bit for 7 second. But when comes to audio convert, both of them used same time to convert.

5.Compatible

When come to compatible, although 64bit also support 32bit application, but 64bit window can't use 32bit driver or antivirus. To 100% perform well in 64bit window, not only RAM, but also need the application also have a version of 64bit, if using a 32bit application on 64bit window, it still cant perform the best performance in 64bit window.

However, although these test show that 64bit window perform better than 32bit,
but the test are using the application which have 64bit version to test in 64bit window.
If the user using 32bit application, then the performance will be different.

So, before thinking of using 32bit or 64bit window, you have to consider does the driver of your computer and the application that you often use support 64bit window.

Streamyx & P1 Wimax

Few years ago, in Malaysia, when talking about ISP company,
most of the people will think about Tmnet Streamyx,

but today, people will think about another ISP company-P1 Wimax.

Before P1 appear in Malaysia, Streamyx is the only choise of malaysian,
And now, these two ISP fighting each other, this is what the user should feel happy.
But what is the strength or weak of them, this is also the user more care about.

There will still be many factor to effect the connection , speed, and others,
so here is just for reference:
