Today at the girls’ school was the Annual Reading Marathon. Although I hate to speak in front of people because I talk really fast, I actually enjoyed reading to Rabbit’s class. I read “Bear Snores On” and “Hibernation Station”. I wasn’t as good at engaging the children as I read like the other parents and readers did, but I got through it without speaking 60 words a second. (lol) Then we were treated to cookies and hot cocoa. #yummy Bought back a little bit of childhood memories. To top the day off, we checked Rabbit & Diva out of class early and went to buy some more fish for our new fish tank. Today is a good day. #TeamBlocker

Home-based job?

There are soooo many 'work at home jobs' out there that sometimes it seems like none of it can be real or worth it. I've tried the secret shopper job, the 'envelope stuffing', etc. only to realize that they weren't for me. As a secret shopper, I had to spend my own gas and money to 'secretly shop' only to earn less than what I spent to DO the job.

Well, this link was posted on my Facebook page, and I was curious enough to click it. I signed up and was instantly rewarded with $25. After only 3 days, I'm up to more than $100!!! Seems way too easy right? But it's working. I'm not exactly sure HOW it works but so far, so good, so I'm not complaining. (lol)

With the holidays quickly approaching, Thanksgiving only two weeks away, I find every day to be more and more of a blessing. The weather is getting colder and colder and watching the news, I began to think of the people who are without so much, especially those with no home to call their own. Shelters and similar organizations are worried about being able to provide for the homeless because there seems to be a growing number so quickly, and with the weather changing so fast, they haven't quite had the chance to fully prepare.

So, I am thankful for what my family has. Although not a lot and definitely not the most extravagant, we are blessed to have what is comfortable for us to survive. I pray every day for those who are not as fortunate.

Yesterday I woke up with a sharp pain in my right eye. I went to wash my face, looked in the mirror and noticed my eye lid was swollen and red. After feeling around to see how tender it was and to try to find out exactly where the pain was at, my eyes started to water, and I saw that there was a white spot on the brim of my lid. I lifted my lid to get a better look UNDER it - REDNESS !!! It looked more painful than it actually was.

So I decided to keep my contacts out for the day and wear my glasses that I hate so very much. Well, the screw on the left leg of my glasses came off, and my lens fell out so I was pretty much blind all this morning. I just put my contacts back in now that the swelling and pain have subsided.

So today, I am thankful for my vision...the very little that I do have. (lol) I could not imagine going without being able to see the beautiful things and people in my life...

On this Veteran's Day, I am thankful for all the men and women who have served our country. Their sacrifice, commitment, and honor is untouchable!
I especially salute my personal heroes: Mister who served in the USAF, my Father, who served in the Army, my children's GodMother and a very good friend of mine, Michelle (USAF), and my Father-In-Law, may he continue to rest in peace.

This weekend I have been thankful for new opportunities.
I have been chosen to be a photographer for a network of models that are looking to gain exposure, which in turn also helps me in gaining more exposure.
My first shoot was yesterday afternoon, and I am pretty pleased with the collaboration.
I am definitely looking forward to more new faces and photo sessions.

On this beautifully cool and cloudy day, I am thankful for cool breezes. Damn hyperthyroidism! I am constantly hot and to avoid freezing everyone in my house, I have been resisting the urge to cut the air conditioner back on in this house. So, today, at a cool 70 degrees, clouds promising rain, and a nice breeze through my windows and back door, I am thankful to be at a comfortable temperature. (lol)

Today, I am thankful to be back in Fayetteville after spending 9 years in New Jersey. Living in Fayetteville, I am able to be closer to my family and my best friend. Although I miss my house in NJ, I wouldn't trade it for the times I get to spend with my friend and my family. We always have a great time and I have missed that. I love them.

I am thankful for my Father. He is my hero and my biggest influence. He taught me to read at an early age ... not Dr. Seuss but Stephen King. I remember he would have me read aloud to him every night. This may be why Stephen King is my favorite author because he was my first author. I inherited my love for poetry and music from my father. He would play music all the time, and ALL day on Saturdays. Everything from rock and roll to old school R&B. I have passed along the joy and appreciation of music to my three daughters.

My father is my everything and I am thankful that I am blessed to be his daughter. :)

Day 1: I am thankful to still be smoke-free. As of September 25, 2006, I have been nicotine-free! I didn't think it would be possible but here I am today not having touched a single cigarette!!! I am thankful for this second chance.

Day 2: I am thankful for my children. My daughters have made me realize that if I fail at anything else, I have been, am, and will continue to be an exceptionally awesome mother. They are my strength, my motivation, and my everything. I love them.

Fall is the season I wait for the most.

The cool air makes it's way around so the air conditioner can be cut off and windows can be opened.

The leaves do their annual awesomeness and provide amazing photographic opportunities.

The anticipation of the holidays, especially Halloween for the children, makes everyone a little happier.

.....And television becomes a little more interesting.

My poor, poor DVR has been working overtime the last few weeks.

With the series finales of Breaking Bad and Dexter , and the season finale of Ray Donovan , I am pleasantly content with the fall lineup that keeps me entertained:

Scandal.

American Horror Story.

Elementary.

Homeland.

Key & Peele.

These are just a few of the shows and series that have my undivided attention when they air.

I've also given in to a few reality shows even though I sometimes hate to. I think it's more because I'm used to watching them and want to know what's going to happen next. Shows like, I Dream Of Nene: The Wedding I ONLY watch because I am a Nene fan, and Basketball Wives because I had become a fan of Tami Roman a few seasons ago.
