I haven't had a chance to use this tool but the tool with its case, batteries, and charger looks great and based on Senco's name/reputation, I have little concern.
The gun has plenty of power to do the job and the batteries hold a charge for a good long time. No cord is a blessing. I'd like to see a way to lock in a manual mode to do touch up. The advance mechanism is a bit flimsy but does seem to hold up...I just don't know how. A reasonable value for undemanding use.
before i say this, i am no expert, and plan to get out the manual and thoroughly go through it before i give up. it really may be my fault and i don't know it. it's really great when it works for about 5 screws, then jambs 5 times! I'm thinking about contacting seller for return but will try my best first. handles screws right in front of you fine, seems to be when you are reaching in any direction...very hard get screw to engage without the leverage of being right behind it.

Mobiky compared and contrasted with other small-wheel folders
I don't drink, do drugs or run with fast women but I do seem to collect folding bikes - Mobiky is the latest - and ride one or the other of them about eight miles a day. The Mobiky with its 12" wheels is unique but there are some points of comparison with two others I have with 16" wheels - a Brompton and a Dahon Presto - and I thought it might help potential buyers if I compared and contrasted.

All three folding bikes have in common beautiful design and construction --they are worthy of museum exhibit as superior achievements of the machine age. Folders come in several sizes, but these small-wheel ones are meant primarily for intermodal transportation - folded, they can be taken on buses and trains where full size bikes (the folding community calls them `cumbersomes') are not permitted, so you can begin and complete your journeys on them. All use three-speed hub gears - a super-reliable hundred-year-old technology which won't get grease on clothes. The gear range isn't sufficient for, say, a postman in the Swiss alps, but it's fine for modest rolling hills. Folders take up much less room in confined living spaces. They can be packed for plane travel without incurring airline surcharges, checked at cloakrooms, brought into offices, kept in the trunk of even a small car, taken into restaurants; and by being with or near the owner, are much less likely to be harvested by thieves than bikes left locked on urban streets.

Because folders are more complex and critical machines, they cost more than equivalent cumbersomes. However, one can find lots of cheap folding bikes from China. Avoid them like poison; let user comments on the internet be my witness. A good small-wheel folding bike will likely cost $500 or more, and with these products, you get what you pay for. In many instances, a folding bike will pay for itself in funds not spent elsewhere, plus they're fun to ride, good conversation-starters, and excellent exercise.

To get down to cases, the French Mobiky has three advantages over all others: it rolls nicely when folded, so you don't have to carry it on train platforms and the like; it really does fold to rolling position in about three seconds; and when folded to rolling position, the seat and handlebar settings are retained, so you can actually unfold it, hop on, and go in three seconds. When you do have to carry it, there is a padded handle, but it's about 28 pounds, one of the heavier folders on the market. The wheelbase is short and the tires are small and with recommended pressure of only 35 psi, have noticeable rolling resistance (I inflated them to 40 psi yielding a great improvement in performance), but once a rider is a bit used to Mobiky, it's very agile and pretty comfortable, although it's really designed for fairly short trips, definitely not for the Tour de France. It would be great to use running errands and making frequent stops.

My Brompton is a T6. It's regarded the Rolls-Royce of small-wheeled folders. The three-speed hub is doubled to six gears by an ingenious two-position derailleur. The fold is amazing - Brommie comes down to a package little larger than the wheels. It's a fairly fast fold but realistically takes me 30 seconds or so, and the seat must be repositioned each time. With its excellent 100 psi tires and fairly long wheelbase, it rides beautifully and I have done 40-50 miles on it without fatigue. It has a great system for carrying luggage. Mine weighs about the same as Mobiky, but newer Brompton models offer optional expensive titanium bits for savings in weight. I'd rather eat more salads, fewer potatoes, and take the weight off myself instead. For a combination of compactness and performance Brompton is unbeatable; it's also made in England by fine craftsmen who live in heated houses and is much more expensive than the competition.

The Dahon Presto (no longer made, the current equivalent model is the Curve) is a beautiful little aluminum bike, two-thirds the weight of the Brompton or Mobiky and substantially less expensive than either. It rides almost as well as, but does not fold as small or as fast as Brompton, and folding speed is pathetic compared to Mobiky. Still, if you don't have to fold and unfold it several times a day, it's a superb piece of machinery, excellent value and a serious contender. Dahon tweaks all its models every year. The older Dahons were not so hot, but the last few years have been outstanding. ADDED COMMENT AS OF APRIL 11, 2009: It appears as if Mobiky may have withdrawn from the U.S. market. As this bike contains many unique parts, I would suggest any prospective buyer carefully verify whether this product is still supported before purchasing one. (I got parts for mine via a friend in Paris who ordered them for me direct from Mobiky's headquarters in that city, and they were graciously supplied at no charge).

I'm SO happy with my Mobiky!
I first saw the Mobiky featured on "I Want That", a TV show about new products on the HGTV cable network. I was impressed by the Mobiky's easy, quick folding and the ability to roll on its own wheels when folded.

Thanks to Abikestore.com, a week after the show I had my new, cobalt blue Mobiky.

FIRST IMPRESSION
The Mobiky's construction speaks "high quality". The aluminum finish, the paint quality, and weld joints are all exceptional.

Due to weather, the Mobiky stood in my living room for a couple of evenings before my first ride. Many times, I'd catch myself looking at it, as if admiring a piece of industrial art. If the Aeron office chair can be on display at the Museum of Modern Art in NY, so can the Mobiky. I regretted riding my Mobiky, because it will get dirty.

PRE-RIDE
My Mobiky needed a little adjustment, before I could ride it. The manual warns riders to make sure the "stay tube" locks in place. Mine did not. After using a screwdriver and hammer to reseat the plug the "stay tube" rests on, my Mobiky was ready to go.

Adjusting the proper height of the handlebars and seat will take some experimenting. You'll also have to play with the tension of the adjusting clamps or your seat will slowly sink as you ride. If you collapse the Mobiky for maximum smallness, your height adjustments are lost. I wish the tubes were scored with measurements, so settings could be remembered. I will mark the tubes with a felt pen.

The front and rear brakes were in perfect, factory adjustment.

RIDING
The Mobiky will not compete in the next Tour de France. Someone on a conventional 10-speed breezed right past me. The Mobiky has 3 speeds so that's an unfair comparison. But the Mobiky is a lot faster than walking.

The factory literature touts the Mobiky as a tool for bridging short range commuting. To that design goal, the Mobiky is on target.

I did notice an alignment issue with the front and rear tires. My Mobiky wants to veer right ever so slightly; maybe one degree. I feel this excusable when you realize there are 9 connection and weld points from axle to axle. With that many connections, it's amazing the alignment is as good as it is. Remember this is a folding bike. To compensate, you can offset the handlebar down tube with the front wheel so the bike goes straight when the handlebar is held straight. I believe I can correct this misalignment, as I get familiar with the mechanics of my Mobiky. If you're not as handy, bring the Mobiky to a professional bicycle mechanic for a final tweak.

As promised, the Mobiky pedals like a big bike. The ingenious, dual chains are silent and smooth. The 3 speed shifter a bit stiff, but I expect that to wear in over time.

STAR APPEAL
The Mobiky will draw stares. As I pedaled past a gas station, 60 feet away, a dude and his chick were gassing up their Harley. These hardcore bikers were dressed head to toe in black riding leathers and skull caps. Without a word to each other, they turned and stared as I pedaled by.

At the first store, I folded the Mobiky in 2 seconds, opened the door, and parked the Mobiky inside with easy approval from an employee.

At my next stop, I got bolder and didn't ask for permission to bring the Mobiky in. I folded the Mobiky in 2 seconds, opened the door, and parked the Mobiky at my lunch table. The employee making my sandwich wanted to know more about this unique looking bike.

At my third stop, I folded the Mobiky in 2 seconds and rolled the bike around the store drawing stares and comments from store customers and employees. In the folded position, I found the seat to be a comfortable armrest, too.

At my fourth stop, I folded the Mobiky in 2 seconds and paraded up and down the narrow aisles of a neighborhood market. The aisles were so crowded, I had to fold one pedal and ½ the handlebar. I noticed people stop their shopping to get a look at the Mobiky. An employee nodded in approval. A four year old kid twisted his head backwards as his mom towed him away.

When folded, the Mobiky has an incredible turning radius, which makes easy maneuvering in very small spaces. Unlike most other folding bikes, the Mobiky's ability to roll while folded cannot be oversold.

When folded the built-in, padded, carry handle is well placed. Although the Mobiky is a bit aft heavy, it certainly balances well enough to easily lift over stairs.

The kickstand works well.

Why can the Mobiky go places no "ordinary" bike would be tolerated? Star appeal. I believe people are spellbound by its beauty, unique folding, and small footprint, so, like a movie star in a public place, it gets the "star treatment".

LESS EXPENSIVE THAN YOU THINK
At first blush, the Mobiky seems expensive. But you don't need a $150+ bike rack to transport it. And, how much is it worth to not damage the finish of your car with a bike rack? What about not having to install, remove, and store a bike rack? Does the inconvenience of installing a bike rack keep you from using your bicycle more often?

Also, consider not having to buy a $50+ bicycle lock. Never worry about your bike being stolen because you take the Mobiky indoors with you. How stupid is it to buy a lightweight bike only to add the weight of a lock and chain? Also, you don't have to waste time looking for a safe place to chain up your bike, too.

The true value/cost of something is proportional to how much you use it. I plan to use my Mobiky to shave time off my 40 minute, 3 mile, daily walk to work. I also plan to keep my Mobiky in the car, so I never need to stress over convenient automobile parking. I can park blocks away and simply Mobiky in. Also, the US distributor tells me a hardshell luggage carrier is planned, so you can take your Mobiky on commercial airplanes. However, you will have to pay an oversize charge, as the Mobiky misses the airline luggage maximum size by 5 inches. Maybe they won't notice.

In other words, what`s a better value; a seldom used $400 bike (plus bike rack + lock/chain) or a bike that costs more but is used more often?

SUMMARY
The Mobiky is of French design and construction. It is the pinnacle of folding bicycle engineering. Because of it's convenience and cool factor, you'll be riding this bicycle more often. That's good for your heart and the environment. Vive la France!

Pretty good
I researched a lot of folding bikes before deciding on one. I wish I could take my full-sized bike everywhere with me, but I am going to be traveling a lot this year, and taking a full-sized bike in a case on airlines around the world is expensive, and complicates travel. As such, I wanted to find a bike that I could check as luggage, and use for multi-modal transportation around the cities I was visiting. Of all the bikes I checked out, the Mobiky seemed to be the best fit. I wouldn't want to go on a 10 mile ride on it, but for short hops from one train station to another, or just around a neighborhood it is pretty cool.

It does have some problems though, that keep it from being perfect. I am pretty tall (6'4"), and weigh a fair amount (200lbs), so the bike feels a little flimsy with everything cranked to the highest settings. Also, as someone else noted, the front brake isn't the best in the world. It can be tightened down to work better, but on my bike at least, the rotor was slightly warped, and I had to spend some tender time with a pair of pliers carefully truing it before I could really get the brake working like it should. I also hate the saddle that came on it as the fabric it is covered with sticks to everything, making it hard to get on the bike, but that is easy to fix with a new saddle. I am also not all that impressed with the shifting hub that came on the bike. The gear range isn't very good, and it is very stubborn about shifting into first if there is any tension at all on the chain. However, I haven't found a bike yet that will fit in a suitcase that doesn't require some sort of sacrifice.

On the plus side, the build quality is quite good, and the design is very well thought out. It handles much better than I expected it to, and while I would never replace my street hybrid with it, those little wheels on the Mobiky soak up more bumps and road irregularities than you would think. The real selling point though is the fold. Most of the other folding bikes brake apart on a hinge, and then basically have to be locked up somewhere, or carried when you go on a train or in a store. Not the Mobiky! I ride up to where I am going, fold it up in a few seconds, and walk right in with it. I haven't had a single person complain, going into restaurants, bookstores, grocery stores, large retailers, or trains. You just roll it beside you, and it hardly takes up any room at all. It also seems to be the most popular bike I have ever owned. Normally people don't even notice my bike, except to note that there is a guy on a bike. I can't go anywhere on the Mobiky, without people commenting on how cool it looks, and asking me questions about it.

It isn't a perfect bike, but it is good enough that I am going to buy a second one for my wife, which I guess is a pretty good recommendation.

Bondhus Balldriver
These Bondhus balldriver wrenches have been familiar to me for maybe 30 years now. Through normal attrition, I recently found myself missing common sizes in my tool set. I went to the orange big box to acquire replacements, but only found store-brand wrenches. Being desperate, I bought them. Bad move! The quality isn't there. The drivers didn't properly fit the screw sockets, in some cases having to be driven in with a hammer.

So I bought this combination metric/imperial set from Amazon. Some things don't change. Bondhus still makes excellent tools. They have an excellent rust-resistant finish. They fit the screw sockets perfectly. The ball ends allow socket entry from an angle. The steel is extremely resistant to abuse (go ahead - use that cheater bar).

And finally, at $18, this is a steal. The big box wrenches are a couple bucks less, but are nowhere near this quality. I think you will be pleased.

Works well forever
I just ordered these for myself because we use them at work and they are fantastic. They are very durable and keep sharp edges so you are less likely to strip your screws. The rubbery plastic yellow or red cases are great too - durable, easy to use, and hold all the keys. Made in the USA. This is just a great product.

Bondhus, metric and inch hex keys, ball-end.
I am very satisfied with the configuration and quality of these hex keys. They have good length and the holders seem rugged enough to withstand years of use.

I came to Oster Fast Feed Clipper quite by accident, but I'm happy to have discovered this no maintenance summer haircut for my son. After my five year old cut his own hair unbeknownst to me and with those children's craft scissors (it wasn't pretty), I thought, why not just do the clipper thing and give him the buzz cut.

This Oster Professional Fast Feed Clipper fits the bill entirely. I've never used these before and was pleasantly surprised to find that they couldn't be easier to use. You just pick one of the combs based on how long or short you want the hair to be, then run the clippers through the hair. Voila! So Easy.

Two seconds after he's out of the water his hair is dry which is nice in our climate where it can go very quickly from sunny and warm to chilly. It's practical and looks cute. The clippers are very well made and I can't imagine having to buy another one ever.

And how eco friendly not to have to drive to the barber or salon, this way you have an appointment whenever you like and for free. Great for kids but would also be good for anyone wanting this cut.

I tried the clippers on myself before using them on my sons. I was really impressed with how quickly they cut and how quiet the motor was. My youngest son is autistic and it is always a challenge cutting his hair. I was able to get him to sit through the whole process without getting up because I was able to cut his hair in half the time and the noise level was so much lower. He wasn't nearly as frightened. I'm not sure he knew I was actually cutting his hair because the cut was so smooth and the blades cut straight through his thick hair. Cutting my son's hair no longer feels like a stressful chore. That was the biggest test for me and I am completely satisfied.

I used 2 different clippers through the years both of them were wahl. I have a short fading hair therefore I skin fade all the time. so I thought Oster will be faster and better to do fading but I didn't see any difference than other wahl clippers, even my old wahl may be a little better doing fading.

Pro

1- May be not sure this will last longer than cheaper wahl clippers, I only had it for a week and used it twice I still need to use trimmers to finish the work

2- it does not heat as much as wahl clippers

3- smaller size than wahl clippers

Cons

1- PRICE, PRICE, PRICE, come on, for the same job it does the same as cheaper clippers and it comes without any traveling bag

2- it does a bad job shaving your face, I used wahl clippers to shave my face as quick shave, but it seems oster is very bad with short hair clipping.

I gave it 4 start because it does all the jobs that cheaper clipper does for ME

Started cutting my own hair and bought this based on other good Amazon reviews. I just shave my head to a 1 so it's fairly simple. The clippers run cool and don't get hot. They make light work of my thick hair. Attachments that come with it are nice but would be better if they came with something to hold it all. I just used my old clipper case to store it. My problem was that I had only used it 5 or 6 times before it broke. I adjusted the blade height lever (attempting to oil it)and before it reached the top position it became very loose. When I tightened the screw back up I realized the lever was broken. Oster Fast Feed Clipper The up / down blade height lever pivots on a very cheap piece of plastic that sheared off when adjusted. Now there is nothing to hold the blade in position and the clippers are useless. I can say they functioned well when they were in use though. IF I were to buy it again I would not adjust the blade height in fear of the same thing happening again.

I bought the Germ Guardian about a year ago, and a few months ago the bulb needed replacing. I bought 2 replacement bulbs. I installed the first bulb.... which was much more difficult than advertised. The first bulb burnt out in 4 weeks. The seller, elite deals refused a refund or exchange because I was over their "time limit" for a return. So I installed the second bulb. It's burning out now... and it has only been 3 weeks. Don't believe the "lasts 5000 hours" bs. DONT BUY THIS.

If you have the GG 1000 unit and the blue light gets dim or turns orange colored, time to buy a new bulb. Also make sure to use a can of compressed air to blow all the dust out of the unit when switching the bulbs. The bulb is very easy to replace. One screw on the back of the unit and the top pops off. Next time I will replace the bulbs BEFORE flu season! (lesson learned)

"You're making the bunny mad" 2010-06-03

First I would just like to say that I love my Rabbit. On to my review. My Doctor recommended an air purifier so I started looking for one. I was looking around found a HoneyWell air purifier with great reviews but it was just plain ugly (donut shape 90's beige PC color) I couldn't picture that thing in my house let alone in my room where I would see it every night. So I started looking for a more visually appealing one which led me to Rabbit airs top of the line model which goes for $500 ouch. so I settled for this one In a pearl white.

Overall I would buy another one. My room has virtually no dust anymore It smells cleaner even on those hot days where there isn't any air circulating. My allergies improved over night. I do run it 24/7 at night the noise is almost silent and I'm one of those light sleepers that gets annoyed very easy by sounds. At its loudest it just sounds like the ac/heater is running. I also love the Auto settings the rabbit detects bad smells/ particles in the air. My dog loves to lay near the foot of the bed near the Rabbit sometimes while he lays there he farts and the Bunny gets mad it goes on full blast or he might shake and fur goes flying into the air which again he makes the bunny mad. So I tell him Stop making the bunny mad Crease lol.

The only problem that I have with this rabbit air is that the Led panel does not dim its too bright for me at night.

One last thing online the pearl white looks very white almost like my Macbook. After receiving it the pearl white has more yellow in it than I thought it did after looking at pictures online.

I am very pleased with this purifier. I was a little hesitant at first because of the price but I believe it is worth it.

Pros

Super quiet. I forget that it is even on. When it first starts up to detect the air qualit, it turns on full force and is loud. However, this only lasts a few seconds if the air in the room is not bad and then it turns ultra quiet. I have mine on all the time and I never hear it.

Easy to clean (just vacuum)

While I have never owned an air purifier, I expected it to be much smaller. However, the size doesn't bother me anymore.

I do not recommend washing the charcoal filter. After I washed it, the purifier gave out an awful smell. It was so bad that I did not turn it on anymore. I contacted the company and they are sending me another one (the customer service department is great to deal with!). They also mentioned that the "new generation" charcoal filter needs only to be vacuumed.

In all, am a very pleased with this product. I even bought a second unit to go in another room.

The Rabbit Air is by far the best air filter I ever owned. It is quiet and does a reasonably good job filtering air. Smell and dust sensor is a nice touch, but I don't expect the sensors to work well forever. I care about quiet operation and filter quality but not so much about gimmicks such as smell and dust sensors. I'd like to see a cheaper version without the sensors. It is quiet enough to leave on 24/7 in my bedroom. It also function of air circulation fan.

I had reservations about spending the price for this air purifier; however, after using it for a few days I have no regrets whatsoever. I placed it in the middle of a large room and let her rip. After it set itself for the air condition of the room it has been going 24/7 without a mere hiccup. This morning I removed the filters and each was a tad dirty but still working perfectly. My routine has been a bit goofy but that is just me. Each time I go by the unit I will take the remote and turn it up so that it is forced to clean a bit better than running on silent (and it is silent, too) and you can see it working from the increase in the flashing lights and the motor turning up the speed. I will save you all the details of the electronics and technical matters which not only are boring but beyond my humble abilities and say it works well and the air is cleaner than it was before I bought it.

I have owned this filter for a few years now. We moved into a new place a few months ago, and our Ionic Pro sat in the garage for a while. I noticed my son started to cough in bed a lot before finally falling asleep, then cough again when he woke up. So I finally set the filter up in his room, let it run about half an hour, then put him to bed. He hasn't coughed once since, and now the filter lives in his room.

The ONLY problem I have with it is how incredibly bright the blue light is. I had to cover it up so it would not completely illuminate his room.

But I love this (totally silent) purifier and am going to buy one for each room of the house when they go on sale.

The Ionic Pro CA200B works but if you are suffering from airborne allergens, like dust, pet dander, pollen, etc., and you are living in a place that hasn't had its heating/cooling system cleaned in a number of years, you will want to have the cleaning done as part of your arsenal against allergies, as well as consulting the family doctor. I suffer from chronic rhinitis and once all of the above were done, with the Ionic Pro installed in the space for which it was designed, I now have a couple of rooms in the house I consider to be save havens: we still have pets (cats & birds) and live out in the country and I believe the Ionic Pro helps to reduce the sneezing, runny nose, and helps to get a good night's sleep.

I bought the one without the nightlight, but otherwise it is the same and it works wonderfully! The tenants in the apartment across the hall from mine are big smokers. That would be fine with me but our doors are not well insulated from the hallway and when they smoke the hallway reeks and leaks into our apartment. My father, who has been a smoker for over 20 years, thinks the hallway smells awful (I think that says something). He swears that they must actually be smoking in the hallway when we're not looking. We plugged this little wonder in the hallway and within an hour the air smelled clean! Unfortunately I came out the next morning someone had turned it off (offended neighbors, perhaps?). We moved it inside of our apartment next to our door and even though the hallway smells, our apt is great and it and even removed the smoke smell from OUR place that had gotten in previously!

And that was just with the all-purpose filter! I can't even imagine what the one for tobacco would do!

It eliminates odors very nicely, is fairly inexpensive and the filters are priced well too. I put one of these in my bathroom. The electrical outlet there only gets power wen the bathroom light is on so it works out very well.Mine doesnt have the nightlight which isnt a big deal either way for me. I like the way it only uses one of the outlets and leaves the other free and open.

I would recommend this product when you need to keep a small space smelling good and odor-free.

I purchased one of these air cleaners for a bottom-of-the-stairs area where there is poor air circulation and where bad odors tend to linger. It cleaned the air quickly. The unit can be a little noisy, so I just use the handy on/off switch on the side to turn it on whenever I notice the odors building up. I then turn it off a couple of hours later when the odor is gone. I thought the night light feature was silly at first, but since the location can be darker than the surrounding areas, the light has turned out to be a nice feature. Overall, it suits its purpose well.

"Powerful Air Ionizer" 2010-03-29

This product is definitely a powerful air ionizer. You can feel the air moving if you put your hand close to it and you'll get negatively charged.

The problem I have with it is that it produces ozone, enough that you can smell it in the air. According to their documentation the amount of ozone it produces it's minimal and not dangerous but I have no way of knowing if this is true or not.

After doing some research I decided not to use it anymore, at least not while someone is in the room as ozone is harmful to breathe. I believe it can be used to clean a room that is not occupied since ozone kills bacteria and disipates rapidly.

I was a bit skeptical about all of the claims made about Ionizers. But I have to say that as far as the claim that it cleanse the air of odors I can truly says that it does. I have cats (three of them) and even though their litter is cleaned every day there is still a slight smell, but I'm happy to say not any more. An cooking smells were always a problem, that has now been resolved. But as far as feeling better, sleeping better or being more rejuvenated as some have claimed, it hasn't done that for me, but if you want a fresher environment then this is it.

"The cleanest air you can make yourself" 2010-03-18

I moved in with my girlfriend, and she keeps a fan at the end of her bed for night noise, which helps her sleep. One day while cleaning, I had to move the fan, and I noticed it was full of hair and dust. We have a beautiful dog but she sheds regularly. I decided that we needed to replace the fan with an air purifier; if we want noise at night, it might as well catch the junk in the air instead of circulating it back into the air.

We went to walmart and bought a HEPPA filter unit that was $119, about the same size as this Winix 9000. After 4 months, the filters were black and clogged with dust and hair. It was time to replace the filters. We went back to walmart to buy the filters, which were $59. I quickly discovered that after replacing the filters twice, I've paid for the purifier; I needed a permanent filter. I returned that purifier for a tower purifier with a UV light inside, and a permanent HEPPA filter that needed cleaning when dirty. As soon as we turned it on, it had a loud vibration noise that was unbearable. We returned it to walmart and just got a refund.

Searching for the best air purifier, we went to Brookstone. They have a $199 unit called a Pure Ion, air purifier. It was large and white, like a tower; full of mirrors that magnetically trap the stuff in the air. You just wash it off and let it dry, then put it back in. After only a few nights, electrostatic popping noises would occur in the middle of the night, scaring the dog out of the room and waking us up. I called Brookstone, and complained about the "silent" air purifier sounding like a crackling camp fire; they took the purifier back as well. Now, I am determined to find the perfect air purifier, and I think it is this Winix 9000.

I have watched the videos for this product on their website, and there's another video on YouTube. The most interesting information came from these videos. I have never really thought about this, but they say the air indoors is 50 times more polluted than the air outdoors. Airborne viruses and bacteria travel through the air, and we keep getting the same colds and flu all the time. This air purifier really caught my eye because of the 3rd layer in the filter; the nano silver mesh, neutralizes viruses and bacteria on contact. Secondly, after clean air passes over the plasma wave, it charges the ions and sends them flying through the air, neutralizing more viruses and bacteria in the air. The videos describe it as "washing your home". It was fascinating. So not only will this purifier remove contaminants from the air, but it also makes the new purified air continue to clean other things it comes into contact with in the home. The plasma also doesn't release harmful ozone, unlike some air purifiers that are still in stores.

My girlfriend and I both have sinus infections at the moment, and we are very excited about receiving this product which will: (1) Snatch everything harmful from the air, (2) Give us noise at nighttime, (3) Kill viruses and bacteria in the air, (4) Catch all the dust and dog hair, (5) Make the house smell better. It's odd to be so happy about an air purifier, but I feel like it will really improve our indoor environment.

We've been using the Winix 9000 for a month now, and we love it. After 3 days, the inside of the house smelled clean and fresh, and it was very noticeable. The odor and dust sensors are fun to watch; we notice that after a shower, or after using the bathroom, the smell of shampoo or something you may have flushed will trigger the odor sensors and the fan will speed up significantly until it detects cleaner air! After a month, I took the front cover off to see what the filter had captured. It was covered with dog hair and dust. I simply vacuumed it with the crevice tool on my vacuum extensions, and it cleared it right out. We are moving at the end of the month, and we will be buying a second Winix 9000; one will go in the bedroom, and the other will be in the den. I never thought I'd be so interested in an air purifier, but it's so nice to walk into a home with air inside that's cleaner than the air outside. You breathe better, and relax easier. We've slept better too.

It's so quiet (even on high setting) and it really helps eliminate the dust. It also detects odors of all kinds: shampoo scent, bad breath (kid-tested), scented candles. The turbo setting is loud, so I don't use that unless absolutely needed.

We agree with other reviewers in that dust and odors seem to be much more in control since we purchased. Initially we didn't run machine since we live in a high humidity area. We have now begun to use on a regular basis and are pleased. We have three animals that move about freely and have run the machine in the areas that are heavily used. We also have a wood stove that contributes to the dust factor. Will need to see how it affects our comfort after a full season of use.

I am very pleased with the performance of the Winix Air Cleaners. They work very well. I really like the automatic way they adjust the fan speed. They have two sensors. One detects odors and another detects dust. It automatically adjusts the speed based on these sensors. They really do work. If I spray some air freshener, even in another room, the units immediately detects the "odor", the odor light turn on, and the fan speeds up. The downside is that if you are the type of person that wears a lot of perfume or sprays room freshener around, the unit will be working hard to clear the air.

It works just as well for dust. For example, If my dog shakes himself near the unit, probably disbursing some dust or dander into the air, the dust sensor lights up and the unit goes into high speed mode.

It also has a sleep mode which prevents the unit from going into high speed mode in a darkened room.

It's a great product and seems very reasonably priced compared to the competition.

My wife has severe allergies and even though she is a clean freak, up until now we could not find anything that could help her. We own two dogs and the combination of the odor and dander was just debilitating. We bought this product about 3 weeks ago. After the 3rd day the change was noticeable. Our house does not smell like dogs and she has not sneezed once (she used sneeze at least 50 times from the time she entered the house in the afternoons until she went to bed!) She also used to take 3 different allergy pills, now the combination of just Zertec and this product has literally eliminated her allergies and asthma.

I had bought this unit because I did not want something ugly and did not like the idea of consumables. The IonFlow 50 is a looking design but the construction is cheap for the price you pay. The power LED was loose when I received the unit. It did not work to my expectations even when following the placement instructions. It does pick up particles but very little for the week I had it on. Still a very good looking unit though! The Remington R450 MicroFlex shaver has to be one of the worst electric shavers ever manufactured. The trimmer on the back works better as a hair plucker, since it barely cuts and often simply grabbed my hair. The shaver itself is functional, but only barely due to a severely underpowered motor driving the blades. On my first use, with a full charge, I was able to stop the blades from rotating simply with my facial hair, and this was after having trimmed it to a reasonable length first. And no, I wasn't mashing the thing into my face. I couldn't believe that my facial hair was manlier than the shaver. The only redeeming fact about this shaver was that my wife purchased it at the clearance price of $25, and even that is overpriced considering just how bad it is at actually grooming facial hair. Honestly, the quality of this product deserves a price tag of around $5 dollars, but I doubt it could actually be manufactured at that price, which might be a good thing, since then they'll stop wasting resources in the making of this device.

A dozen years ago I used to own a Norelco shaver and used it for many years without the kind of problems I often face with this Remington R450s.

Let's see, first off, it has no charge % left indicator so you don't know if you're about to lose charge in the middle of a shave or not.

Second, it won't run off the power plug, so if it does run out of charge in the middle of a shave you are out of luck because you have to charge it for a while before using it again. So if you're late for work or have to go somewhere soon, you'd better have an alternative strategy for shaving that morning.

Third, it is extremely weak. Often it will get stuck while move across my face and I have to pull it away to get it going again. That's a sign of a weak battery/motor combination. This thing should be powering through and mowing everything in its path. Its a joke because my old Norelco never had these problems. But I have lost that shaver, and the blades finally got too dull and worn to be of any use now anyway.

The other thing that isn't so great is the side trimmer on it actually causes pain. yes, you heard me right. It hurts to use it. I think its so weak it doesn't really cut much so you tend to scrape with it and that hurts.

The first shaver I ever owned was a Norelco. Being like any other sheep I continued to buy them over the years. My first beard trimmer was a Norelco. After becoming frustrated with that trimmer I took a chance and bought a Remington. That Remington outperformed the Norelco in every aspect. So, when I gave up on my most recent $100 Norelco shaver I figured that I could afford $40 worth of risk on a Remington shaver. And, it has paid off. This shaves better than any other Norelco I've ever used. It doesn't rip the hair out of my face and doesn't take nearly as long and does a way better job of getting the hair under my chin. I think I will continue to buy Remington products as long as they keep performing like this.

I bought this shaver to replace my old Remington that had finally quit after about 25 years of use. I read the reviews of others and decided that the R450 would be suitable for me, and I was not disappointed. The shaver cuts closely, is fairly quiet, can be used in either plug-in or battery mode, and comes in a soft storage kit. The shaving experience with this unit is good. The unit is sturdy, has a pop-up trimmer (which is adequate in performance), and is lightweight. The low cost of this shaver was a big attraction for me as I only need a basic unit. Overall, this unit delivers a very good balance between performance and cost. Would buy again in a minute.

"Quality shaver, would recommend" 2009-12-01

As a caveat, this is the first electric shaver I have owned. For a long time I was lazy and simply used my beard trimmer with the guard off to shave below my jawline and kept a short beard above it. Then I tried using a safety razor below my jawline, but I can't seem to shave with a safety razor and not cut myself like 10 times. Perhaps I'm not using good technique or a quality shaving gel, but at any rate I figured I would try an electric razor.

This shaver seems pretty powerful and durable, and it fits well into your hand. It doesn't cut as close as a safety razor, but I've never cut myself with it and it's still a fairly close shave. The only reason I'm awarding this 4 stars instead of 5 is because the shaver tends to miss some of the hairs on my neck, so I have to switch to the pop-up trimmer to remove them. Not a big deal because that's still pretty easy to do, but I expect a 5-star shaver to get every hair. The pop-up trimmer also seems to be pretty strong, not attached in a flimsy manner. Cleaning the razor is a breeze; remove the top part with the blades, knock it against the sink/wastebasket edge and the hairs and any dead skin will all come off. You might want to just blow at it (from the underside), and that will remove just about anything left. If it's still not clean, the small cleaning brush that comes with the razor will finish the job.

I can't say much about battery life because I've only owned it for 2-3 weeks, but I was able to use it at least 2 times from the same charge. It can probably run more times off one charge than that, but I've simply never tried to.

On the whole this seems like a good investment that will last many years. Unless you can find a shaver that doesn't miss any hairs, I'd say you're probably not going to find much better than this.

Most Garmin auto/mobile GPS units come highly recommended by reviewers. This unit for the most part satisfies. It has been accurate and trouble free in finding and giving directions, not so with other features. Now for the downside. Either the paid renewable subscription type or free traffic updates feature available on many GPS units is a joke. For the most part they are inaccurate and not current and do not give you real time road construction alerts. The next item is the cost of map updates after the first year. Garmin asks for $100.00 I believe. This to me is a little steep considering that the actual cost to Garmin and other providers is most likely a fraction of that. Ah yes marketing. A way to sell more new new units. I will be investigating manufacturers that offer real time traffic reports for a fixed monthly to yearly charge for what I hope is a superior service for not much more than a map update. Since they down sized from the Street Pilot line, the sound stinks. All for looks. The microphone reception in Bluetooth mode is also terrible. Most times you cannot make out what the Bluetooth user is saying.

This was my first GPS unit, and I am quite please. Great POI, maps, and very easy to use. Bought it with the '09 maps and have since upgraded to the '10 maps.

You can pair the 760 with your cell phone via Bluetooth for hands free talking. I believe Garmin has discontinued this model, but if you can find it, buy it.

The only con is that it does not come with a case.

Worked on move from NC to NV. Worked in rural MidWest and crowded Dallas & LA. Worked in & over the mountains of NV and southern Cali. Even worked at 41,000ft @ 495mph on Delta. I read the safety pamplet on the back of my seat, GPS' are not prohibited items :) Ever since those commercial pilots got "distracted" somebody needs to make sure they are going the right way. ;)

I bought the Garmin nuvi 760 two years ago for my son when he moved to the East Coast for a job. He loved it but after a year he moved into the City and sold his car, so he shipped the Garmin back home to us, and we came to love it and rely on it heavily. Now after having used it for almost a year, son moved back and wanted his Garmin back! I thought that was unreasonable, but I reluctantly gave it back to him, and I really miss it. I see that the price is now less than half what I paid for it originally, so I think I'll have to bite the bullet and buy another.

The 4.3-inch backlit widescreen touchscreen on the nüvi 260W gives you 70% more actual screen area than a 3.5-inch screen. Primarily this translates into a better view of the area through which you are driving. This is especially useful in showing you what parks, restaurants, ATM, gas stations, etc. are nearby, or in letting you know whether a detour is a good idea. Also, the device itself is larger, meaning controls on the screen are more widely spaced and somewhat easier to push.

Smart, Powerful Design
The nüvi 260W is built with a high-sensitivity GPS receiver for extreme accuracy, as well as an SD card slot for storing your media and additional navigation tools, and a USB interface for loading data.The nüvi display is touchscreen-enabled, making it a cinch to control the device with your fingertips. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to five hours of battery life depending on use.

Navigation is just the beginning. nüvi 260W features travel tools including JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, calculator and more. It also comes with Garmin Lock, an anti-theft feature, and configurable vehicle icons that let you select car-shaped graphics to show your location on the map.
This device is compatible with optional content plug-ins available via SD card, such as the Garmin Travel Guides and Garmin SaversGuide provide detailed data for attractions and information on nearby merchants offering discounts, so you can customize nüvi for your travel needs.
Garmin has also added the ability for customers to add custom points of interest (POI’s) from third parties such as school zones and safety cameras.
