Had a great day at Ginny and Mike’s Leicestershire wedding. The day started as usual with bridal prep, the girls make up was provided by Leicestershire make up artist Rochelle O’Brien and hair by Leicestershire hair stylist Melanie Garney. An incredible Marquee to accommodate 200 guests had been erected days earlier at Ginny’s parents home and Mike’s mother (an interior designer) was tasked with theming the marquee in an African style (Mike’s family are from Botswana). The marquee was quite simply awe-inspiring!

After a terrific service at the catholic church at Ratcliffe College where Ginny & Mike were gifted with a decree from the Pope, the wedding party headed back to the amazing marquee for the wedding breakfast and a wonderful surprise before desserts in the form of an incredible performance by a team of three african drummers from Drum Cafe to carry on the african theme. All 200 guests in the marquee had an african drum or ‘Djembe’ (cleverly hidden under the tables) and the noise was incredible, a great way to get the guests to bond and warm them up for the evening celebrations!

Catering was by Leicestershire and Rutland Event Caterers Quality Fare and the evening’s entertainment was provided by Leicestershire event musicians Functionality.

Fiona and Simon’s Slawston, Leicestershire Wedding

Images from the wedding of Fiona and Simon in the beautiful Leicestershire village of Slawston. A lovely, affair in a small, cosy intimate village church and then back to Fiona’s parents house to celebrate their marriage. I feel there could be quite a few entries into the WPJA competition from this lovely day…

Kerry and Jon’s Sutton Bonington, Leicestershire Wedding

It was back to top Leicestershire Wedding Venue, the superb Sutton Bonington Hall for the wedding of Jon & Kerry. The threat of missing England’s quarter final appearance in the world cup against Argentina never materialised thanks to their woeful efforts in South Africa and never actually making it that far. It wouldn’t have been a problem anyway as the day was simply fantastic and far more entertaining than any England football match.

The day started at Kerry’s parents’ house with the bridal preparations. Kerry had an amazing pair of shoes courtesy of Shoes by Gina. Hair was by Guy who works at Indy Hair in Leicester and make up provided by Leicestershire make-up artist Femi. A terrific vehicle was provided by Nottingham Wedding Car Hire company Ivory Cars, a beauty from their fleet called Daisy; a 1928 Daimler Hooper Tourer and the only one of its kind on the road in the UK.

After the service which was held at St Michael’s Church the guests walked 300 yards down the road to Sutton Bonington Hall for the reception, while Kerry & Jon took off for a 15 minute spin in the Daimler. The flowers for the day were provided by Leicestershire Florist Flowers by Sarah of Quorn.
