• This system is only for new or tear-off applications.
• It features a fully adhered single-ply or fleeceback membrane in 50, 60, or 80mil thickness using an approved IB membrane adhesive.
• One, or more, layer(s) of an approved cover-board and insulation is secured using an approved IB insulation adhesive.
• One, or more, layer(s) of an approved thermal barrier is mechanically attached with IB #12 fasteners and 3” steel insulation plates.
• Deck Type: 22 ga, type B, grade 33 steel
• Fire Rating: Class ‘A’ up to 2:12 slope

DeckShield membranes are a skid-resistant waterproofing system made from a composite layer of durable reinforced PVC film and comply with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirements. This product was designed and created specifically for residential exterior walkways, patios, decks, balconies, stairways, around swimming pools, hot tubs, and locker rooms. DeckShield is manufactured to withstand foot traffic at hotels, hospitals and many other commercial applications. It can be fully adhered to plywood, concrete, and most rigid surfaces. When properly maintained, DeckShield membranes will continue to perform and look great for years.

In addition to the new DeckShield warranty, revisions to the format of the following warranty forms have been made: Lifetime Residential Limited Material Warranty, Commercial Limited Material Warranty, and Warranty Plus.

Warranty Revision Specifics:

• Warranty registration forms have been updated
• Fillable project specific information has been added to the back of the warranty for owner’s clarification/records
• All verbiage has been updated to be consistent throughout all the warranty forms with the exception of wording specifically related to varying warranty coverages.

The coverage for these warranties has not changed from the old versions. All old warranty forms are still valid and will still be accepted.

• Deck Type: Min 2500 psi structural concrete
• Fire Rated: Class ‘A’ up to 1:12 slope.

This update eliminates the current “standard” detail as a warrantable option and offers contractors and building owners the additional watertight security at the perimeter by placing the edge metal over the field membrane and uses a strip-in application for a final watertight seal. Additionally, these details are available with or without a cleat, giving the contractor flexibility to install the perimeter metal based on project conditions and specifications.

Please note the current ME-3 & FE-3 (Rev. 11-08) are now listed as an “alternate” option and can still be used if desired. However, it will not be eligible for Total System warranties.
