Wool has made a comeback at the Tour de France this year- Just not in the form of actual cycling jerseys... The sheep have had enough, and decided to enter the race. It seems this might be their formal protest since these professional riders no longer wear wool...
The daughter of an Ibex staff member recently traveled with Change The World Kids down to Costa Rica "to continue to reforest a migratory corridor that is this winter feeding ground of birds from the Northeast and other parts of the United States, as well as essential habitat for indigenous rain forest species. After piloting Phase 2 of our Bosque para Siempre project last year, we launched the initiative this spring. Our mission is to improve the summer breeding habitat of migrating songbirds. Our partners in this work include US Fish & Wildlife, Audubon, and local conservations organizations." (via Change The Word Kids)
Of course we had to send her with some Ibex to test out the qualities of ibex in the steamy jungles Costa Rica. Good news- the wool worked great! Better yet they finished planting trees and establishing new areas for migratory birds to rest up on their way back to the old North East.

....I have worn the Balance Boxers for a few months, including for running, biking, and on long trips in the outdoors. They are my go-to underwear for most pursuits, as the wool fabric is breathable when you sweat and comfortable for long stretches outside. Wool can help with temperature regulation, hot or cold, as well.
In southern Chile this winter on a wilderness trip, I wore the boxers for almost a week straight. This was extreme, but the shorts are made to be wearable for days between washings and usually will not stink.
Beyond use as underwear, some people run or hike in these boxer shorts alone. They are thick enough to pull it off and are ultimately breathable in this scenario. But if you're at all shy, the Balance Boxers alone may be an extreme move.
At the Dirt, Sweat, and Gears 12 hour MTB race in Tennessee our racer- Jill Damman took 3rd on the podium for the Female Pro Open Class. In her words she "gave the jersey a real beating".
John (the ceo) is down visiting our farmers, mills, and our partners at Zque in New Zealand this week. The mission? To let our partners know that the merino market is warm and fuzzy up here in the states. The majority of the trip will be spent down on the south island visiting the merino stations and talking with the farmers, getting a better idea of how things are fairing for them and the merino.

For trips and during expeditions, it is often easy for guys to pack light in the clothing department. For me — and most girls I know — it is a different story. I like to change my underwear every day (shock!) even when on an expedition or a mountain trip.
Ibex’s Balance Sports Top, $59, is a tank top with a built-in shelf bra. The seamless garment is made primarily of fine merino wool plus there’s a little bit of nylon and spandex, too. The result? Because wool is naturally antimicrobial, this is a bra I can wear multiple days in a row outdoors and on trips.
During a recent six-day trip, I wore the top the entire time — no changes needed. It was comfy and plenty supportive when I was biking and kayaking. I would have liked a little more support for running, but I realize that this top was not designed for “high-impact” support.

We recently had a contest in the office- Match the baby picture to your co worker. We included the dogs as well, but it is apparent that the pups are not being represented as well as their human counterparts.

Nordic Sprint skier, Kikkan Randall was recently in Holmenkollen, Norway- a suburb outside of Oslo. While in town for the World Cup Competition (and a preview to the next year's World Championship) she took Silver in the sprints. Watch the video below for the action at the line...
