Ice Miller LLP Attorney Bradley Williams Named Among Outstanding Healthcare Fraud and Compliance Lawyers

Indianapolis, June 6, 2008 - Bradley Williams, senior counsel at Ice Miller LLP, has been named an Outstanding Healthcare Fraud and Compliance Lawyer by Nightingale's Healthcare News, a newsletter for healthcare executives and professionals serving the healthcare industry. Williams is among twelve attorneys from across the country who were named to the annual list in their May 2008 issue.

Nightingale recognized Williams for his representation of "a large hospital in an investigation concerning physician compensation and federal anti-kickback law; a large physician-owned clinic in a federal investigation arising out of a qui tam lawsuit; and a national pharmaceutical manufacturer in a state Medicaid investigation."

"Brad has represented several health care organizations and professionals on various healthcare fraud and compliance matters for over twenty years, including in connection with internal and government investigations," stated Kevin Woodhouse, chair of Ice Miller's Health Law Practice Group. Williams serves as the president of the Seventh Circuit Bar Association, and is the past chair of American Bar Association Section of Taxation's subcommittee on Attorney-Client and Constitutional Privileges. Indianapolis, May 9, 2008- Melissa Proffitt Reese, a partner at Ice Miller LLP, recently attended the Business and Professional Women's Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. The two day conference provided a forum for approximately 350 professional women from across the country to discuss a range of policy issues with members of the United States Congress, the Administration, and experts in the fields of health care, education, and business. Reese was nominated to attend the conference by Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels.

"Bringing together women leaders, policy experts, and our federal officials for an open dialogue on the pressing issues facing our families and communities is critical to moving our nation forward in the 21st century," said Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (TX), Summit co-sponsor.

A host of leaders from the U.S. Congress joined prominent women to address the Summit, including keynote speaker U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao. U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (KY) addressed the delegates and welcomed them to the Summit. Sen. Lisa Murkowski (AK) and Rep. Kay Granger (TX) updated participants on legislative priorities in the 110th Congress, followed by Sen. Richard Burr (NC), who outlined plans for expanding access to affordable health care. Sen. Hutchison led a session on leadership and innovation in the 21st century, and Sen. Johnny Isakson (GA) discussed legislative proposals to secure America's economy and housing industry. Sen. Lamar Alexander (TN) spoke on initiatives to improve education and U.S. competitiveness. Participants also discussed ideas to strengthen opportunities for entrepreneurs, and they engaged in informative question and answer sessions following each panel.
