I don't know whats wrong with the weather in Holland but

its raining 24/7 with a crazy temperature drop to 10° degrees!

awhile ago: I did my first H&M online purchase! Funny huh?

I love H&M but since H&M is like everywhere,

I never seem to bother to check out the onlineshop. I mean

same stuff as in shop and online right? Well, I did discovered

some nice deals & sales that cannot be found in the actual store.

You understand that I start checking the onlineshop regularly

now :P

Alright, I really should head back to my schoolwork and papers.

Food in Process: Spaghetti

One of my favorite childhood food is: spaghetti. I mean
who doesn't like to suck up the noodle strings and leaving
a messy snout behind? This Italian indulgent is so versatile
such as the classical bolognese and the creamy carbonara
sauce.

But my all time favorite is spaghetti in solid tomato sauce with
subtle herbs. And cheese on top! Some people like to
add the sauce at the very end and some like to mix the sauce
while they cook the spaghetti. I prefer the last one. I also
like to eat spaghetti with lots of pepper... mhmm

This post sure is packed with the word spaghetti. Maybe because
I'm hungry at the moment. Anyway! My simple way of making
spaghetti with tomato sauce, shrimps and cheese!

Da Recipe 4 servings: 1 pack spaghetti, 1 jar/can your favorite tomato sauce, 1 pack/can diced tomatoes, 1 tsp. chopped garlic, 250gr shrimps, 1 diced onion, grated cheese, salt & pepper, soy sauce + 1 tbsp. starch (shrimp seasoning)

Removing veins and peeling off skin is pain in the butt to do.

Da Steps:

1. Season the shrimps by adding pepper, soy sauce and starch. Mix well and set aside.
2. Cook the spaghetti according to the packaging. Let it drain in a pasta strainer.

3. Heat pan with oil and add the chopped garlic and onions. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and bring it to the boil.
4. Reduce heat and let it cook for 5 minutes. Keep stirring!
5. Before adding the shrimps, rinse and pat-dry the shrimps first. Add to the sauce.

6. Add the spaghetti and stir and mix well until all sauces are combined.
7. Add salt and pepper to adjust the flavor.

8. Serve it in a deep plate. Sprinkle grated cheese on top. And enjoy!

So here it is; a tutorial of making miniature strawberries.
They were really fun to make and so easy! Recently I've
been making all kind of miniature fruit such as lemon,
apples and tangerine!

Tonight is Eurovision Song Contest the final, all contestants
from EU countries are battling tonight including Holland!
It's been 9 years since Holland made it to the final so I
find it pretty special. Good luck to our Anouk and her
song 'Birds'!

Getting told you’re bad at the only thing you’re good at

My interview today went horrible. For this I had to cry.
And the worst thing to hear from your supervisor was to
consider quitting the topic you've chose. Like wtf. One thing
for sure: no way I'm gonna quit and start over. Apparently
my framing of words are incorrect making the entire piece hard
to follow. Funny because the rest of my classmates find my piece
manageable. I really don't know what to do now.
What should I do folks? What should I do...

By the way, my respect for actress Angelina Jolie really.
She's beyond a strong and beautiful woman. I wish to be
strong as well.

A few days ago I've ordered some craft supplies
like pins, rings, blank rings and earstuds. All from
Ebay! I like Ebay because you can find almost everything.
And I think purchasing craft supplies at Ebay is cheaper
than buying the ones at my local craftshop.

Last week me and my fellow classmates/friends went
to grab a bite at a typical studentfood-spot: Mcdonald's.
There's this new chickenwings that I really wanted to
try out. It tasted spicy and kind of nice! Tho it was
a bit dry...

I'm not looking forward for Thursday. I'll be
having an interview about my paper. I feel like dying.

Food in Process: curry triangle puff

Ah, puff pastry, how I love you! This versatile piece of pastry allows

you endless dishes such as sweet or savory flavors! Today I'm

showing you guys how to make this easy 'curry triangle puff' which

is a popular appetizer in Asia.

I'm drooling over my keyboard as I'm writing this post. You can
deep-fry them as well, but I prefer baking. I remember my mum used to
make these at home as well. So mum, this is for you!

How did you celebrate Mothers Day?

Da Recipe: 10 instant pastry sheets, 1 chicken breast filet, green peas, 1 tbsp. curry powder, 1 tbsp. turmeric powder, 1 tbsp. soy sauce, pinch of salt & pepper, potato starch, water, 1 onion, little bit of milk (for brushing)

Sauce: 1 tbsp curry, 1 tbsp soy sauce, pepper, tsp. sugar, 100ml water (mix them up)

I've used 2 chicken breast for this and it was way too much! Half of the meat we used it for supper and as
sidedish for our noodles/ramen. Yum!

Easy as making apple-turnovers c:

Da Steps:

Chop the meat into cubes/bite-size and season it with the curry, turmeric, soy sauce, potato starch, salt and pepper and mix it well.
Heat the pan with oil and fruit the diced onion. Add the sauce, green peas and the seasoned curry meat. Stir fry them. until they are cooked (around 5. min). Thicken the sauce by adding the potato starch mixed up with water.
Set aside the curry meat and let it cool down for like 30 minutes. Get your pastry sheets ready.
Pre-heat the oven from this point. Take a spoonful of the curry filling and place it in the center. Fold it from edge to edge. Press with a fork to close the line. Continue with the rest of the sheets!
When that is done, brush the top with milk. This will create a brown baked top.
Place the triangles on a bake tin covered in baking paper.
Bake 200° Celsius for 20 minutes. Good luck!

This weeks Monday was an awful day (aren't all Mondays?).
We had an conference that day includes a reading from a
professor, a presentation and a debate. The professor was
a really funny dude and kind of woke me up a little bit in the
early morning. After the reading we had to prepare ourself
with the upcoming horrible debate.

I was teamed up with 4 other students for the debate. I
like watching debates but I really suck at defending myself
at debates. I'd just stand there flabbergasted. You wont see me
standing in the political situation! At the end, the debate
itself wasn't so bad. I was more upset that the school let
us prepare this debate for 2 hours and the debate itself last
10 minutes. Grrr.

So me and my fellow friends/classmates decided to eat
icecream to eat our school-anger away.

Yummy wholegrain, seed and nut bread! Topped off with orange marmalade.

My aunt send me over these adooorable candies! Taste like peaches. Japan is a master in packaging design.

Peek Into My Life 30

I have always used Mozilla Firefox for my internet but over the
past weeks it crashes and freeze occasionally and it really
pissed me off and lost faith in the orange fox. So I decided
to step over to Google Chrome.

The weather in Holland is terrific! It was 20°+ degrees
for weeks! All my wintercoats are washed and my wardrobe
re-vamped with new spring/summer items!

So my life is pretty relaxed. Maybe this warm weather is
making me lazy. Either way I'm still writing my paper and essays
(what a surprise!) and you can find me in the library very
often. Lately I quit watching Beauty and the Beast after
ep. 15. The show became so... nowhere. What a shame because
I think the concept behind the show is good.

I'd love to know what show you lately watching at!

At one of my favorite kitchen supplies shop: Dille en Kamille. They also sell stationary, food, gardening tools, bath stuff and toys!

I thought these icecream chairs looked funny! My favorite ice cream flavor: blueberry yogurt. And mint/chocolate.

I love that this library has a piano c:

Who orders salad at a fastfood restaurant, uh, me. I've tried this new ' goat cheese salad' by Mcdonalds and it tasted awful.

DIY: growing (easy) spring onions

Lets grow food together (and save money)! Since spring is finally

here in Holland, everything is growing and blooming in the yard!

Even my windowsills is full of life: I'm growing my own spring

onions! How cool is that? My friend showed me how easy it

was and it really triggered myself to try it out.

Within the shortest times I saw the first difference because it grew!

I felt really happy that it didn't die on me and really motivated me

to continue this. Meanwhile I added the following vegetables
on the windowsill: zucchini & peppers! I can't wait to harvest

these baby's and to eat it!

Have you ever ever grown vegetables? What are you

favorite vegetables (mine: pak choi, Brussels sprouts, eggplant)

Tools : a cup & water STEPS: 1. Pour 1/2 water in the cup. 2. Cut 5cm from the root. 3. Place the root heads in the water and done! CARE: place it in a light area and daily watering!

My family celebrated our last Queensday at a town

called Vlissingen. Vlissingen is one of my

favorite places in Holland because of the beach

and the boulevard.

For those who doesn't know, Holland is a monarchy

and for that we celebrate our queens birthday on

'Queensday' each year. As being said before, this

years Queensday will be a special one because it

will be our last Queensday for now. Our queen decided

to retire and this means her son Willem-Alexander will take

over the throne. It will be a 'Kingsday' from

now on!

Queensday has always been a big holiday thing here. Events

are held everywhere and everyone is feeling all

proud being 'Dutch'. Including myself of course. And for

this special occasion I suited myself up in a nice orange

dress from H&M (it was only 10 bucks!).

So, I've been sleeping on my back lately because
sleeping on your back is apparently the most healthiest.
I'm a side-sleeper and the first two nights felt super
uncomfy. Normally I'd roll over from side to side and
now I have to lay still like a statue. But it pays off
because my bones & muscles felt a bit loosen
up the next morning. Especially my back!

Today I met up with a friend for breakfast. My friend
has a math-exam soon and she asked me for help with
it. Sadly to say my math wisdom limits up to 1+1. I'm really
not good with numbers and they say Chinese people are
geninus with numbers, they are wrong because I'm the
living proof. So I just end up giving my friend handy
websites.

Tomorrow the color orange will be dominating Holland: Queensday!
Queensday is a Dutch holiday, celebrating our monarch. You can find fun
events and fleamarkets everywhere. This years Queensday will be special
because a coronation of our crown prince 'Willem Alexander' will
take place to be our new king! I got my orange dress ready!

7 Facts of me
1. I am a proud Chinese born and raised in The Netherlands. So yeah, I can speak Dutch (hallo, hoi, doei).
2. I don't shower everyday. And I wash my hair 2x a week.
3. I consider myself half vegetarian: I eat seafood and chicken still. I'm trying to cut off the chicken
but they are too delicious :c.
4. Wants a pet hedgehog.
5. My phone is superold. I can't download any apps or having Whatsapp/Instagram etc. I call it a
dumbphone, opposing a smartphone you know.
6. I don't like horror movies, but I'm totally addicted to the show 'Supernatural'. And loyally following
'American Horror Story' and 'Grimm' every week.
7. I have never dyed my hair before.

I'm enjoying the 20°+ degrees in Holland

and so does the flowers in my backyard as well!

I don't know but I have the urge to clean up the
house and sort out the old clothes that are ready
for the dump.

Lately I've been in the library nonstop working on
my papers. And I love the library because it has a
piano! Since I discovered that, I use my last hour to
play/practise on the piano as a reward to myself for
working hard on my school! A good drive I think c:

Food in Process: Cheese garlic breadsticks

I've made these yummy cheese garlic breadsticks a while ago.
Mhmmm.. they were cheesy good! Sunday is my usual
baking/cooking day and I'm trying to make this into a habit.
But sometimes I oversleep on Sunday which leads to
lazy start-up problems. And then I eventually ends up doing
nothing.

So!

The best part of making bread is the kneading part because

this is where you can put your anger & frustrations on
a piece of dough. Really fun and I think, a healthy therapy.
Speaking of building up your biceps as well!

Da Recipe: 125 gram bread-flour, 125 flour, 5 gram yeast, 140ml lukewarm water, pinch

of salt, 40 gram cheesepowder, 5 garlic gloves, 15 gram butter,

20ml olive oil, 60 gram grated cheese, rosemary

I wonder if I can turn these into a fishbraid? Naww...

I don't know why it says 'grated cheese' when its really powder texture. Oh well.

Don't forget to take mints when you've finished these!

Da Steps:

Strain the flour, the salt, the yeast in a bowl. Add the water little by little and knead!
Transfer the dough on a little floured workplace and knead the dough for around 10 min. until its not sticky.
Add the butter and the cheesepowder and knead for another 10 min. The dough should be not sticky and glossy.
Time for the dough to double in size: shape the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly greased bowl. Wrap this up with a wet towel and place this in a warm place for 1 hour.
After 1 hour of rising up, your dough should have doubled in size.
Punch the dough down to release the air. Shape the dough into strings.
The fun part: grab two strings and wrap them around each other to create breadsticks.
Place the breadsticks on a bakingtray + baking paper, cover it up and let it rest for another 1 hour. PRE-HEAT OVEN 200º C.
Get the peeled garlic, rosemary and grated cheese ready. Brush the breadsticks with olive oil and richly sprinkle the garlic and cheese on top of it.
Bake the cheese breadsticks at 200º C for 15 min.

I don't want to know how much calories bubble tea has

Last week I have spend quality time with my aunt,
uncle, cousin, cousin's boyfriend, my 2 little brothers, another
aunt and of course my dad. And we're no Asian without having
dimsum at the local Chinese restaurant!

My cousin is pregnant for about 13 weeks and I'm happy
for her. It's so weird because we used to play alot together
when we were younger and now she's having a baby! We are
all growing up and getting older including myself.

Afters stuffing our belly with '下五茶' we went for a walk
and to shop to lose some of the calories. I remember how sunny
and warm the day was so I suggested to have a drink of bubble tea.
I can't believe my cousin never had bubble tea before! Bubble tea
is so yummy and I love chewing the bubbles a.k.a tapioca!

The temperature is so nice lately in Holland! It's

and warm with temperature around 17° Celsius.

I didn't need to wrap my thick knitted scarf

today!

Today I woke up with hearing the news about

the bomb explosion in Boston. That really made

me upset and even more upset because I have

relatives living there. All my thoughts and prayers

goes to Boston!

So today I had an exam. It went... alright I think?

It was an open exam where I had to write my answers

down. I like open exams, because if you are unsure

about an question, you can write as much (nonsense

or not) as you can. Because somewhere between

these nonsense, you hope to written atleast one

good answer.

And OMG Psy has a new song and it's called

Gentlemen. What do you think about this new song?

Things I'm bad at: spending cash. Things I do a lot: shopping

I love shopping with my friends but I also
enjoy shopping alone. I love walking alone at
the shoppingcentre and daydreaming with myself.
Sometimes when I walk alone, I got a feeling
that some people labeling 'loner' on my forehead,
while I just do nothing more than having a
moment with myself.

For the people who follows my Facebook knows
that I recently bought new pair of Vans! They were
on sale with one pair left for 35 bucks. In my size
as well! So lucky, because mostly sale items doesn't
have my sizes anymore. So I was really happy to have
these Vans!

I have also bought baby oil, BB cream and
some lingerie's from H&M.

These are actually my first pair of Vans. I was always a Converse girl but I want to have Vans as well, so these are my
first Vans!

Food in Process: Carrot cake

Say "hurray" for carrot cake! This spicy and
moist cake is truly one of my favorite indulgences.
If you re-think about it, carrot cakes are pretty healthy
as well. Well if you leave out the thick layer of
creamcheese of course.

This is my first carrot cake in muffin shape and they
tasted not bad! I love how rich and moist the dough were
with the crunchy nuts! For the next time I'm going to
add a little bit more sugar and I think to add coconut
to it as well! Mhmm, I can't wait!

Da Recipe: 135 gram self-raising flour, 1/2 tsp

baking powder, 150gr nuts (walnuts, almonds, hazlenuts etc.), 50gr butter, 1 egg, 1 tbsp condensed milk

150gr carrot, 1 1/2 tbsp cinnamon powder, 1 1/2 nutmeg, 30 gr brown sugar, 90gr natural yogurt, pinch of salt

100gr creamcheese, 30gr icing sugar, a few drops of lemon juice

Ah man, this almond nut was a tough cookie to crack! My and my chickenbones only have cracked open 2 of them.

Da Steps:

1. Crack nuts and grate the carrots. Line the muffin tin with paper cups and pre-heat oven to 200º C.

2. Sift the flour, baking powder, cinnamon powder, nutmeg & salt and mix well.

3. Rub the butter into the flour mixture and create a really 'crumble' effect.

4. Add the sugar.

5. In a new bowl, whisk the egg lightly with the condensed milk and pour into the flour mixture.

6. Add the nuts, carrots, yogurt and mix well!

7. Spoon it in the cups for 3/4 full.

8. Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.

9. Mix creamcheese with icing sugar and lemon juice.

10. Decorate the muffin on top with the creamcheese mixture.

You're A Man Of Thousand Faces

Something changed about me. Can you tell?

It's my hair! Since recently I can finally make

a hairbun! I guess my bobline that I have cut in

Nov. last year is outgrown a bit. For this, I

used my donut and bobbypins to secure the

still short back hair, otherwise people think I have a

mullet lol. I think I'm going to let my hair grow to the

length of halflong.

Today's post is an outfit post of 1-2 weeks ago, where

Holland was covered with a thin layer of snow. I

remember how cold and windy that day was. I've only

made 4 pictures and quickly run inside the house

to warm myself up with cup of tea lol. I just saw

that upcoming Sunday will be 19º C! I can't wait c:

want to present your hair. Even tho most of my weekends

are still filled with work from school and such. And

it reminds me that I have an exam in 2 weeks! Ugh.

Dear, school my brain is overloaded of the past 4 years

of knowledge I have gained from you. I just can't

wait to graduate. Some of my classmates/friends wants

to continue studying after this. I have considered about

this but I think I'll pass (its rather lazy or i'm just

stupid).

Anyway.

Straight to the jobhunting after graduation like the other

million people? As far as I know

there are minimum jobs available at the moment. And for that,

no income for me. Ugh I feel stress is boiling up again. No wait!

I still have my ambition to start an online-shop! That will be my

new 9 to 5 job! How to gain customers? How to keep

customers happy? What if I get scammed! Oh no.

Not ánother form of stress!?

Summertime setting was this week and I nearly

forgot! It's great to see the sun coming out earlier,

but I wish the temperature went up. Its interesting to read

other bloggers complaining about the cold weather

as well, knowing Holland isn't the only one with

stupid weather.

I hope you had a great Easter break! We don't do alot

with Easter but we do attach great importance to good

food: a rich brunch along with stollen, soup and of

course eggs!

So. My life still looks the same as previous posts: writing

papers and an essay. With here and there some

shoppingspree with my dad. Sometimes shopping with

your dad is fun and great. Because we always end up

with a cup of tea and cake at a cafe.

What I had with Easter brunch...

Food in Process: Chai tea latte

Chai tea latte, one of my favorite hot beverages in
the world. And I can say for sure: chai tea latte over
hot cacao! Chai tea latte is so creamy and spicy and
totally warms you up in the winter! But I think its suitable
throughout the whole year, because you can't go wrong
with a nice cuppa chai tea right?

As I have announced earlier, I'll be teaching you guys how
to prepare a nice cup of chai tea latte at home!
For his recipe I used 'CookingwithKarma' as base and
add a few twist of my own! Am I allowed to say that it
almost taste the same as Starbucks?

You can totally adjust your own flavor after you have
brewed your own tea. As for me, I'll probably add more
spices such as cinnamonsticks and cloves c:

Da Recipe: For 2 cups: 250ml water, 250ml milk, 2 teabags (use black tea), 1 dried orange peel,

2 cinnamon stick, 2 fresh ginger slices, 3 anise seeds, 5 cloves, 5 pepperballs, 1 tbs. honey,

1 tbs. brown sugar, 1 tbs condensed milk, whipped cream, cinnamon powder, nutmeg,

Da Steps:

1. Get a nice pot/sauce pan and boil the water along the herbs, spices and the fresh ginger for about 5 minutes.

2. Set aside the pan and add the two teabags and let it soak for about 2 hours. Remove the teabags.

From this point your chai tea latte is ready to serve, but if you can, store your brewed goods overnight in a container in the fridge like I did.

3. In a new pan, boil the milk, sugar, honey and the condensed milk.

4. Get your container of tea ready. Once your milk is boiled, get a sieve and strain the tea over the pan of milk. And boil until its ready.

5. Get your glasses ready! Whip the cream until stiff.

6. Pour the chai tea into your favorite glasses for about 80% and another 20% of cream on top.

7. Finish it with cinnamon and nutmeg powder.

March was a funny month with weird
weather circumstances. One of it was this pleasant
20C + degrees that only lasted one day. Which probably
is the cause for this caterpillar to become a butterfly. Not long
after that we had 'enjoyable' weeks of below zero
degrees Celsius involving snow and storm. Too be
honest I just can't wait for spring to show and warm up
the upcoming days. Hopefully warm days with
upcoming Easter! I doubt that.

I don't know but plane stripes makes me happy.

Tho, once the car started to drive it dropped to 17,5C degrees. Still warm.
