The good news is that I have not broken any of my new years resolutions, but the bad news might be, I did not set any! Although, I suppose in the back of my mind, I wanted to learn some new ‘things’ at work and home. So, on the home front, I went trampolining with my daughter. That resulted in a sprained ankle and the near embarrassment of being carried from the trampoline court via a stretcher after only three minutes. I manned up and walked. So, first thing I’ve learnt is trampolining is a dangerous sport!

At work it is a little less perilous and we are now working on phase two of our YODA Search project. This entails lots of discussions on coding and search tools and you can’t be in pain or off your game when a group of coders get together for a debrief of existing code. “///B;/DNT?Name?Query. No, that is not a spelling mistake, it’s how coders speak, yes, in another language! Its great fun though – we are finding more insight about digitally active healthcare customers and I’m learning all sorts of shortcuts for making my life easier when searching for specific items. No longer do I have to trawl through page after page of search results in search of a great pub in London (which of course there are many)… I just create my bit of code, tap a button and up pops a very refined set of search results. Customer engagement at its best! I have also learnt to remove unwanted search returns as well and shall be putting this to good use with the word ‘trampolining’!

Happy bouncing into February…

We’ve been to a number of meetings under the catch all title of Multi Channel Marketing. Most of the discussions have been dominated by the use of social media within the pharmaceutical industry and most of the presentations end with a question from the audience about the ROI of the specific case study presented. As yet I have not heard a clear answer on ROI purely from the social media element of the campaign.

Now this might be a slight oversight on the presenters behalf, but could it also be that we don’t really know?

A 360 degree approach to the customer by correctly selecting the right channel for the right customer, perfect, agree, but which one or ones will truly make the difference to supporting the customer in making an informed clinical decision and how can we accurately measure this and help all case study presenters to answer the question, so what ROI did you get?
