Katy Perry To Release A New Album Next Year According To Manager

2015-05-23T13:11:00.004+08:00

Pop’s leading lady could be back in business by the end of the year. Katy Perry’s manager Steven Jensen spilled the beans at a music and entertainment conference in Singapore, saying: “She plans to release her next album by 2016.”

While the prospect of new music is tantalizing, the timeline seems a little tight given that Katy’s Prismatic World Tour doesn’t wind up until October. It would also appear to contradict what the 30-year-old said in an interview with AP about her next move. “It’s important for me to maybe start reinventing myself,” she opined. “Because I can’t keep topping myself because I’ll just combust at some point.” Instead, she expressed the desire to “craft songs about real life experiences” after the tour. Are you ready for Katy’s next move? Let us know in the comments below.

Brad Pitt Secret Bisexual?

2015-05-23T12:55:00.001+08:00

Star Magazine claims in their cover story this week that Brad has been bisexual this whole time. And that Angelina knows and she’s fine with him sleeping with men sometimes. I mean… Angelina is bisexual as claimed it before.

According to Star Magazine - Their lasting Hollywood romance may be a surprise, but there’s a reason for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie‘s relationship has worked so well over that the world doesn’t know about. Hollywood insider Hesham “Sham” Ibrahim, who has been a long-time traveler with the same social circles as Brad and Angelina, exclusively told Star, “I don’t want to define Brad Pitt’s sexuality, but whatever it is, he’s into guys.”

And his sexuality with men isn’t a new thing. Sham told Star that Brad’s bisexuality has been going on for close to 10 years and even spoke about two of his male hookups. Cameron Fox, who did adult films and was an all-American looking adult-film actor, was contacted by Brad on a website called RentBoy.com nearly a decade ago. The two were supposed to meet at a hotel in Monterey, California. “When [Cameron] got there, an assistant met him in the lobby and took him to a room. Sure enough, there was Brad Pitt,” Sham tells Star. “Brad took one look at him, gave him a thousand dollars and asked him to leave. Cameron wasn’t as attractive as he appeared to be in his pictures. I guess Brad has picky taste.”

Sham also heard reports that this was a common case if his men weren’t up to his expectation. But when he did find one he liked, Brad seemed to have a routine down to the last detail. “They said he seemed to have the whole scenario pretty much worked out,” Sham says.

And how does Angelina feel about her dreamboat husband straying away for other men? Fine! She too is bisexual and openly admitted her romance with Oscar-winning onetime girlfriend Jenny Shimizu. “It was a wild experience,” Angelina said in response to her dating Jenny for years.

“As someone who has dated bisexual men, I have to say that having an understanding really is the only way their relationship can last,” emphasizes Sham. “They need to accept each other, and, since Angelina is into girls, they do.”

Who Will Play Tinkerbell in Live-Action Disney Movie?

2015-05-23T12:41:00.001+08:00

Disney’s been on a heavy trend of revisiting its animated classics in the form of live-action remakes, but the most recent addition is actually the resurrection of a project that’s been in development for years. In 2010, Elizabeth Banks became attached to star in Tink, a live-action movie that would follow Peter Pan character Tinkerbell and aimed to “play with the mischievous nature” of the fairy. The project obviously has yet to come to fruition, but in 2012 Banks still sounded optimistic, saying they had a great script and were continuing development.

Since that time, Disney has put into development/production/release the live-action films Maleficent, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Dumbo, Mulan, Winnie the Pooh, Pinnocchio, and a twist on Jack and the Beanstalk. Now, it appears, there’s new life in Tink, although Banks doesn’t appear to be involved anymore. THR reports that Reese Witherspoon has come aboard to produce and star in the film, setting Victoria Strouse—co-writer of Pixar’s upcoming Finding Dory—to pen the script. Are you excited?

Moving On: 14 Practical Tips To Help You Recover From A Break-up

2015-05-23T12:26:00.001+08:00

Moving On: Here are 14 practical tips to help you recover from a break-up:

Understand and acknowledge the fact that you're going to experience a wide range of emotions — and it doesn't matter if you were the one dumped or if it was you who instigated the break-up.

Take care of yourself: be sure to get plenty of good quality sleep, eat well, and exercise.

Avoid binge drinking, abusing drugs, and having revenge sex.

Don't stalk or threaten your ex-partner.

Socialize with others who can provide positive support.

Don't be afraid to seek professional help to assist you in working through the break-up; as Dr. Xiaomeng says, "there's no need to isolate yourself and go it alone."

It's normal to not feel like yourself. A loss of self-concept is a natural part of the healing process.

To rebuild your self-identity, rediscover what makes you happy and what defines you as an individual without your ex-partner; think of it as an opportunity for re-growth.

Focus on the positive aspects of the break-up, such as having a fresh start, re-engaging with hobbies you used to do, and so on. Focus on positive feelings, such as relief, freedom, optimism, and empowerment.

Engage in writing and speaking exercises in which you clearly articulate your deepest thoughts and positive feelings about the relationship that ended.

Don't be scared of a "rebound" relationship — but be damned sure you're getting into it for the right reasons.

If your partner starts dating someone else, give them space and respect the new relationship. As Dr. Lewandowski told me, "it's important to remember that your former partner is someone you used to care about greatly (and perhaps still do), so you should do what you would for any other friend and with him or her the best."

Appreciate the fact that a lot of what's going on is neurological and there's only so much you can do to cope.

Give yourself time to heal.

38 New Emojis Are Coming Next Year

2015-05-23T12:26:00.000+08:00

Thirty-eight brand new emoji are coming in 2016. The Unicode Consortium — a little-known Mountain View, California-based organization that standardizes characters and emoji across all the different operating systems — has gifted us with yet another batch of the popular pictographs, including a wilted flower, bacon, and a symbol for the word “selfie.” Yahoo Tech has learned that earlier this month the consortium’s emoji subcommittee finalized the additions and submitted them to members for a vote of approval. The new emoji will be added to the existing set in June 2016 as part of the Unicode 9.0 update if all goes according to plan. This decision comes just a month after the unveiling of Unicode 8.0, which updates the existing emoji set with varied skin tones, a taco, and a unicorn, among many other symbols. Though companies like Apple and Microsoft have already begun integrating parts of 8.0 into their operating systems, the UC will finalize the update next month. After that, most major tech companies are expected to add the new emoji to their operating systems. Below is the complete set of emoji that the consortium plans to approve in June 2016. Personally, I find it pretty heartbreaking that we have to wait a whole year for an avocado emoji.

· Face with cowboy hat

· Clown face

· Nauseated face

· Rolling on the floor laughing

· Drooling face

· Lying face

· “Call me” hand

· Selfie

· Raised back of hand

· Man in tuxedo

· Mother Christmas

· Wilted flower

· Scooter

· Motor scooter

‘Knock Knock’ New Trailer | Keanu Reeves Gets Tortured By Sexy Psychopaths

2015-05-23T12:16:00.001+08:00

Lionsgate has released a new trailer for Eli Roth‘s latest horror flick, Knock Knock. The film stars Keanu Reeves as a nice family man whose life is turned upside down when two gorgeous young women, played by Lorenza Izzo and Ana De Armas, come knocking at his door asking for help. Once inside, the ladies put their twisted seduction into motion and things dark in no time.

Synopsis for Knock Knock:

Evan Webber (Keanu Reeves) is living the dream. Just look at his beautiful, successful wife, his two wonderful kids, and his truly stunning house—which he designed himself. Of course he did. Things are going so well, Evan doesn’t even mind spending Father’s Day alone while the rest of his family heads out for a beach weekend. And then there’s a knock on the door.

The two young women (Lorenza Izzo and Ana de Armas) standing on Evan’s doorstep are where Evan’s dream takes a nightmarish turn. Given co-writer/director Eli Roth’s well-deserved reputation for creating cinematic discomfort, it should come as no surprise what happens next: Things get weird, and then dark, and then much, much, much darker. But this is no splatter film, so Roth keeps the horror nice and psychological as Evan’s life—and house—get ripped apart, piece by beautiful piece.

11 Fascinating Facts We Learned About Sex At The Institute of Sexology

2015-05-23T12:13:00.001+08:00

A free exhibition in London looks at the study of sex and sexuality over the last 150 years – from Sigmund Freud and Alfred Kinsey to sex machines and questionable therapies. (Photos above)

The Wellcome Collection in London is a ground-breaking exhibition space dedicated to medicine and human biology.

Until 20 September 2015, it is hosting The Institute of Sexology – a free exhibition looking at the study of sex and sexuality over the past 150 years and some of the scientific pioneers within this field.

Here are just a few of the thought-provoking facts to take away from the exhibition.

1. Sigmund Freud considered homosexuality nothing to be ashamed about

Sigmund FreudFreud (1856-1939) is widely regarded as one of the most influential thinkers on sex and sexuality. The father of psychoanalysis, he believed that sexual desires are a prime driver of our thoughts, feelings and emotional state.

Writing to an anxious mother about her son in April 1935, he revealed his belief – contrary to popular opinion of the day – that homosexuality was not a disease or vice:

‘I gather from your letter that your son is a homosexual. I am most impressed by the fact that you do not mention it yourself … May I ask why not? Homosexuality is assuredly no advantage, but it is nothing to be ashamed of, no vice, no degradation, it cannot be considered a disease.’

2. Freud believed everyone was innately bisexual but that we become ‘monosexual’ during our psychological development.

3. Freud was a great collector of ornaments, including phallic amulets made from bronze and ivory. He kept these to illustrate how older civilizations had a less uptight attitude towards sex.

Marie Stopes4. British birth control pioneer Marie Stopes (1880-1958) shot to fame with her seminal book, Married Love (1918), which talked – in a frank fashion – about sexual relations between men and women.

As part of her research, Stopes kept a record of her differing sexual desires over a period of a month – from periods of low libido to her ‘desire to be held tightly around the waist’.

Stopes (pictured) firmly believed that women were trained into feeling unnecessary shame about their sexual desires.

5. US researcher Alfred Kinsey (1894-1956) believed humans were basically animals when it came to matters of sex and so-called ‘perversions’ originated in primate behavior and were, in that sense, natural.

Alfred Kinsey Almost obsessive in cataloguing the details of human sexuality, he travelled across the US in the 1940s and early 1950s interviewing individuals – gay, bisexual and straight – about their sex lives.

He and his team interviewed some 18,000 people, routinely asking each one at least 350 questions. His typical working day would last 14.5 hours.

6. In 1950, when Kinsey (pictured) was engaged in his pioneering sexual research, homosexuality was illegal in all the US states – as was oral sex. In Indiana it was an offence ‘to incite or encourage masturbation’.

7. Austrian psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich (1897-1957) became famed for creating the ‘Orgone Accumulator’ – a cupboard-sized box in which individuals could sit and absorb the healing powers of orgone radiation.

Proponents of the treatment believed it might bring about a disease-free, sexually-liberated world. Although hailed as a brilliant scientist early in his career, his reputation fell into disrepute later in life; he died in prison in 1957.

8. Masters and Johnson (1915-2001 and 1925-2013) pioneered research into the human sexual response. They were among the first scientists to study sex in a laboratory setting, watching and filming people having sex – including gay and lesbian couples.

Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy, was a big fan of their work, and awarded them several grants to help them with their research. In turn, (William H.) Masters and (Virginia E.) Johnson became ‘chief consultants’ for Playboy’s advice column in the 1970s.

9. In the UK, the National Survey of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles (NATSAL) was pioneered by a team of female experts in the field of social science, public health and statistics.

The survey was first mooted in the late 1980s, but the Conservative government of the day – overseen by Margaret Thatcher – refused to fund it as they reportedly didn’t want their government to be ‘tainted’ by being associated with the study.

The study, instead funded by the Wellcome Trust, nonetheless went ahead for the first time in 1990-1991, and the data went on to inform the development of AIDS prevention, sexual health strategies, sex education and family planning services. Further NATSAL survey results weres published in 2001 and 2013.

10. There exists an American subculture of inventors of home-made sex machines.

The photographer Timothy Archibald photographed some of these men and women and their (slightly scary-looking) machines for a 2005 series of images, some of which are presented in the show.

11. The Institute of Sexology contains interactive elements; visitors are invited to anonymously answer questions about their own feelings and beliefs around sex.

The Institute of Sexology continues until 20 September 2015 at the Wellcome Collection.

Kate Beckinsale Is Returning For ‘Underworld 5’

2015-05-22T14:06:00.002+08:00

THR reports that Lakeshore and Sony Screen Gems are still working away on another Underworld and are still using Goodman’s script, which we can only assume wasn’t really a reboot to begin with. Len Wiseman, Beckinsale’s husband and original director, announced at New York Comic-Con that a Beckinsale-focused sequel was happening separate from a spinoff with Theo James and that in addition to the two film projects, a TV series was also in the works.

There’s been no news since but what we now know for certain: Kate Beckinsale is locked in to return as the badass vampire warrior Selene and Theo James is currently attached as well since he was optioned for another from his contract for Underworld 4. There may just be one movie in development for the time being.

Directing the fifth installment will be Anna Foerster, the first female director for the series, who’s coming in after directing episodes for Outlander. Most of Foerster’s directorial work is television-based (Madam Secretary, Army Wives, Unforgettable, Criminal Minds) but she’s tapped to direct the sequel to Source Code and has a long history of working with Roland Emmerich as a director of photography or cinematographer on big budget spectacles 2012, 10,000 BC, and The Day After Tomorrow.

The film begins production this fall in the Czech Republic capital of Prague which lends Underworld 5 for a late summer (August-September) release in 2016. Given the series’ historical release window of January however, it’s also possible extensive post-production and VFX work pushes it to January 2017. Since the director’s background in visual effects, that’s certainly possible – It just depends on how much of a budget the next Underworld has. The original was produced on the cheap for just $22 million but Awakening (which released in 3D) cost $70 million.

Underworld: Awakening brought Selene into the near future where the world had learned of and planned to eradicate vampires and werewolves. Its followup revolves around “a new and younger generation” of these monsters and continues their ageless war. Given the recent lack of major vampire/werewolf releases, at least theatrically, there’s an unfulfilled niche the studios are gunning for.

Underworld 5 will likely release late 2016 or January 2017.

Tyra Banks even nicknamed him “Manaconda” for obvious reasons. “At first it was a little awkward and weird, but I like it now,” Kieth said in a recent interview.

Cate Blanchett Says She’s Had Same-Sex Relationships “Many Times”

2015-05-22T14:04:00.001+08:00

Todd Haynes’ latest movie, based on Patricia Highsmith’s scandalous 1952 novel The Price of Salt, Carol was locked away in Hollywood’s development closet for 15 years. It’s the story of two women, who fall in love with each other and stars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara.

When Highsmith first published The Price of Salt, she used a fake name to protect herself. We live in very different times, but Hollywood still hasn’t caught up entirely. Last summer’s Love Is Strange, starring Alfred Molina and John Lithgow as a couple, made only $2.3 million at the box office.

Haynes says the focus on gay stories has shifted more to TV.

“In some ways, the event of a gay love story is less surprising every day. But I think love stories are hard to pull off, period. They require external forces that keep the lovers apart.”

Elizabeth Karlsen, who produced “Carol,” says:

“I hope it’s a film for everyone. And certainly when we’ve screened it, we’ve found young and old, male and female, straight and gay, have all responded.”

Just like the diplomatic producer. When Variety asked if this was Blanchett’s first time as a lesbian, Blanchett responded:

“On film — or in real life?”

Really? OK. When asked for more details about whether she’s had past relationships with women, she responded:

“Yes. Many times.”

Like Carol, who never “comes out” Blanchett doesn’t like labels…

“I never thought about it. I don’t think Carol thought about it.”

Carol premieres at the Cannes Film Festival on May 17. To read the full interview, go here.

‘The Craft’ Remake In Development

2015-05-22T12:52:00.000+08:00

One trend currently popular in Hollywood is rebooting/remaking/revitalizing cult classics from the ‘80s and ‘90s. Sony Pictures has not one, but two Ghostbusters features in the works; Tim Burton is returning to Beetlejuice for a not-quite-sequel; plus Warner Bros. is working on a followup to The Goonies and a remake of Gremlins.

THR is reporting Sony has set newcomer Leigh Janiak (Scream) to write and direct a remake of supernatural teen thriller The Craft. She will be joined by co-scribe and previous collaborator Phil Graziadei. The two co-wrote the horror film Honeymoon, Janiak’s directorial debut that premiered at SXSW last year. Doug Wick, producer on the original Craft film, will return to produce along with Lucy Fisher (The Divergent Series: Insurgent).

The cult classic ‘90s film follows Sarah (Robin Tunney), who transfers to an L.A. high school and joins a group of wannabe witches: Bonnie (Neve Campbell), Rochelle (Rachel True) and Nancy (Fairuza Balk). However, when the girls use witchcraft for their own gain, they suffer the dangerous consequences.

Watch: 50 People 1 Question

2015-05-22T12:43:00.002+08:00

Last year the Jubilee Project gathered 50 people and asked them, “If you could change one thing about your body, what would it be?” While the adults reveal insecurities about everything from foreheads to eyes to ears to stretch marks, the kids' answers call to mind confidence, comfort, and a delightful sense of whimsy. It's a good reminder that body-confidence issues are seldom innate.

‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Sequel Is In The Works Called ‘Mad Max: The Wasteland’

2015-05-22T12:42:00.000+08:00

The filmmaker George Miller recently revealed he would like the title of the much anticipated followup to be Mad Max: The Wasteland.

While not officially green-lit by Warner Bros., Wasteland presumably already has a script thanks in part to Fury Road‘s furiously long road to the big screen. “We’ve got one screenplay and a novella,” Miller said. “It happened because with the delays [on ‘Fury Road’], and writing all the backstories, they just expanded.”

The direction of this expansion, though, is now a bit contradictory. Not only does Miller’s new title rebut another title he had proposed in 2010 – Mad Max: Furiosa – but it also suggests the film is heading in a different direction, one that may or may not include Charlize Theron’s feminist bad ass, Furiosa. While it was already confirmed that Tom Hardy had signed on for three more sequels, Theron’s future, on the other hand, has not been so clear.

Mad Max’s Interceptor:
Staying true to the Mad Max franchise, the lead character — played by Tom Hardy — is seen with his black 1974 XB Ford Falcon Coupe. His trusty car is souped up with a number of new weaponry, four-wheel drive, a new chassis, a monstrous engine and a new matte silver polish.

Furiosa’s War Rig:
The bionic-armed heroine Imperator Furiosa — played by Charlize Theron — drives a Chevy Fleetmaster that’s blended with a Czechoslavakian Tatra to become a powerful 18-wheeled six-wheel-drive truck that runs on twin V8 engines. It features a large fuel tank, a fuel pod trailer attached to the back, and a hull made of Volkswagen Beetle and Track cabin shells. It’s also decorated with Citadel emblems throughout, such as the skull logo on its wire-work steering wheel.

Doof Warrior’s Doof Wagon:
The massive Doof Wagon housed one of the funniest characters of the film: the Coma-Doof Warrior, otherwise known as the flamethrowing-yielding guitarist. An entire wall of speakers and sub-woofers, a supercharged V8 engine, and air conditioning ducts come together in a beast of a machine that Warner Brothers calls a “sonic carmageddon.” The Doof Warrior is strapped to the car’s mobile stage with multiple bungee cords where he shreds his double-necked electric guitar that spews flames as he leads a sort of war cry during battles.

Immortan Joe’s Gigahorse:
Citadel’s ruthless leader Immortan Joe — played by Hugh Keays-Byrne – leads his troupe of War Boys with a war machine that’s basically a siamese twin a 1959 Cadillac DeVilles that’s equipped with two V16 engines, a whaler’s harpoon, a flamethrower, a custom gearbox, two-meter high double-wide wheels, and jacked-up fins along its side and rear.

The People Eater’s Limousine:
The devilish bureaucrat The People Eater — played by John Howard — spearheads his Gas Town army in a monstrous stretch Mercedes-Benz limo that features a double-barreled flamethrower, lattice-cut windows, triple exhaust pipes, a polished silver finish and an excessive amount of car grills on the front. 20-foot-tall “metronome poles” protrude from the top where real actors swung back and forth during fights, while at the back, the stretch limo housed the Doof Wagon: a group of drummers who pounded tribal-like drums during war scenes.

The Buzzard Tribe’s Spiked Jalopies and the Buzzard Excavator:
The Buzzard Tribe’s automobiles are characterized for their protruding steel spikes, used to tear at opponents’ vehicles during battle. The Buzzard Excavator is a M.A.N. 6X6 tractor with 1,757 of these spikes covering its entire body. That’s also the same amount of quills found on Australian anteaters which are native to the area the film was shot.

Nux’s Chevrolet Coupe:
Young War Boy Nux – played by Nicholas Hoult – drives a ’32 Ford Deuce five-door coupe that was “fetishized” with a super-turbocharged, nitrous-boosted, steel coil V8 engine, huge exhaust pipes off the side and canted wheels.

Rictus Erectus’ Bigfoot:
Immortan Joe’s son — played by Nathan Jones — rides in a four-foot suspended Fargo truck from the ’40s that features a supercharged V8 engine, a belt-driven machine gun, a harpoon on top, and massive 66-inch all-terrain tires with heavy axles from a military supertanker.

The Bullet Farmer’s Tank:
The Bullet Farmer — played by Richard Carter — drives a Valiant Chassis from the ’70s that’s blended with a US Ripsaw Tank. It features a water-cooled Merlin V8 engine, a torpedo, a machine gun and tank treads, as well as some aviation parts such as its huge armory and sharp mouth of bullets.

The War Boys’ Claw Cars and the Ploughboy:
The Citadel’s War Boys ride in the Claw Cars, muscle cars and hot rods from 1940-1989 that are characterized for their curvy muscles and stiff chassis. Their roster includes revamped International Utes and a heavy Ford F250 tow truck with large front digger claws, rakes and anchors.
